Easy A!!

Very good teacher, but likes to talk about sex way too much and enjoys swinging (not the dance kind). Overall I learned plenty.

This guy was great. He knew his stuff and was interested in students. I loved coming to the lectures

real easy and boring, but he's teaching soc100 what do you expect?

SOC 101 is easy, lots of points in the class so you can bomb the tests and still get a decent grade.

more fun to point out his idiosyncricies during lecture then to listen to him talk. He closes his eyes 70% of the time and talks about sex at least once a week.

This class couldnt be easier. A lot of busy work, but get it done early and you dont have to worry. Just to the study guides and you are guarenteed to pass the class. I failed the final and got an A...that easy. :-D

The class was sometimes boring. He does give a lot of assignments that are pretty pointless but are extremely easy points. Be aware that he does tend to sometimes wear see through shirts. Ha ha.

Very willing to help, although his lectures can be kinda boring he is a very good professor.

cool guy. the class is easy. didn't study for the tests and the projects were super easy. will take his SOC 469...and see how that goes.

Although I wouldn't consider taking sociology as a major, he made it interesting. His lectures are boring but his "busy work" online made better. He grades based on points and not percentages. With all the extra credit opportunities, it's impossible to fail!

His lectures were a bit boring, but it was alright for a general class. The online assignments weren't that fun, either. They were just another thing to remember to do. Take him if yo want an easy A/B. Just remember to read and reread the text!

He was the easiest teacher that I've had in college thus far. If your going to take Sociology I would recommend that you take it with him. Plus he tells you really funny stories, but you should make sure that you come to class because he does give reaction papers.

This class is an easy A if you do ALL the homework. The lectures are a little dry but his personal stories make it interesting. It is a good general ed class.

VERY EASY! Tests can be a little difficult, but do some studying and they they're not to bad. Lots of extra points so you should get through the class with and A or high B

A very easy A. He makes you do a lot of online quizes and little assignments but grades them VERY easy. Tests are basically just the online quizzes. Lectures are boring but an easy A.

WAY EASY, NO NEED TO GO TO LECTURES EVERYTHING IS ONLINE AND ALL OF UR GRADE IS ONLINE TOO. HE IS WAY COOL AND EASY SO DO IT, DO IT!

Class was pretty easy.. too much busy work tho.. you had to do a lot of useless crap before each test... and it sucks cuz the lectures are way boring and you should go cuz you get points for reaction papers once in a while.... over all easy class... did okay on the tests and failed one and still got a B..

EASY class. If you show up and do the study guide before each test, you're an idiot if you don't get an A in this class. Very nice, approchable guy.

Extremely easy class. When taking the tests, go by the online study guide. Everything is on there. Gives out a lot of extra credit and everything is free points online!

He's a very clear teacher who makes it easy by using D2L. He has Study Guides for the tests that are pretty well to the point and you can find out yer grade for yer test quickly after you take it. Awesome class and great teacher to go with it.

EXTREMELY EASY class!!!! If you do all the homework and are there for the in class questions and extra credit, as long as you average C's on the exams you'll get an A! He offers A LOT of extra credit and he's extremely helpful if you're confused on anything. You're foolish if you don't take this class with Vassar

very easy, hard for one to show up to class though. boring lectures. sit in back take a nap, wait for the reaction papers. reaction papers are what got me to go to class that was it. I fail 2 test and got a C on another and still walked out with a HIGH B.

Easy class. I have it at eight o'clock, so I sometimes have a hard time staying awake during lectures, but otherwise interesting content. He often lectures with his eyes closed.

Vassar is way too monotone, made the class really boring.

Vassar is a great guy. If you're taking soc 101 do not hesitate to take Vassar. The tests are somewhat difficult, but if you KNOW the study guide you will do fine. Go to class for the reaction papers and interactive responses. He is a very helpful guy!

Good Teacher

Vassar is a great prof because he lectures professionally and is a true scholar. Other professors should learn his technique. Oh and...he also lectures with his eyes closed.

ppl talk about his relating things to sex. He's a soc prof, and thus explains things in the perspective of history's most famed sociologists, i.e Freud, who believed everything revolved around sex. So yeah, he does.. anyways the class is pretty interesting, he has minor humor, and the tests are ok if you do all the online work. I liked this class.

Great teacher, just make sure to do and understand the d2l excersizes, they really do help with the tests.

Do the work, get an A, fun to take just go to class

I managed to get a B in the class. I did horrible on all the tests. there is A LOT of busy work. The material covered in class is completely pointless. I got better grades on the test when I didnt attend class. Go over the terms in the book and you should be fine.

Vassar was an overall good teacher. He's a bit eccentric, but in a good way. Tests aren't the easiest, but if you do the study guides, you'll be ok. There is a lot of online work for this course, but it's mostly quite simple. You'll get some days off of class, called Web Days, to work on the online material.

This class was super easy! There are a lot of d2L activities and stuff but he's a really easy grader and you don't have to go to class very often. Easy A class.

the class is not hard at all. but keeps you busy.There R things U have to submit online, attendace is not mandatory but if you don't want to miss inclass assignments + extra points U better attend until U got all the point U need. All in All Steve Vassar is what an instractor should be. he is nice,understanding and very or organized.

Vasaar is a great teacher! He is funny and relates the subject to the students life and interests. He does give you a lot of bussy work, but there is PLENTY of time to do it, if you just do a little at a time instead of waiting till the last minute.

He's a nice guy, i personally find the class boring. If you go to class and do the clickers unlike i did, you'll get an A. And actually do the D2L quizzes instead of just getting the answers. it actually helps on the test

Funny guy at times. good powerpoints. easy 101 class if you need a filler. He does things in class so you should make a habit of going most of the time. can be boring but at least tries. I would take him again. study the study guides and the tests will be a breeze.

If you want an easy "A", take this general education course. You won't regret it at all. Easier than Prue

he is one of the great teacher in MSN, his class is easy, the test wasn't too diffcult if you follow the study guide that he gave you. when you see the list there has so many HW to do, but really easy and fast to get it done. i encourge you to take his class!!!

This was a very good class. Vassar is funny and keeps it interesting. The class over all is perfect for a general it is easy to get a good grade. He is a very straight forward teacher on what you have to do/know for the class. This is a good class to take.

Horrible class. I learned nothing. I didn't like him at all. He tried to be funny and wasn't. His voice drives me crazy! Way too much busy work and totally pointless. I had a hard time with the tests. If you take him, I wouldn't talk to him after class bc he's kind of a jerk about it. I'll probly get a good grade but wish I didn't take this class.

honestly, i never went to his class and i got a B. he has online quizzes and assignments that help your grade SSOOO much because you can do it on your own time. and when its time for the test, study the study guide and you'll do fine.

Vassar is an awesome Prof. I just loved him, extremely helpful, very interesting. He lectures the entire class & you watch videos once in a while. Just do the on-line assignments & study his study guides & you'll get an A. I encourage you to take his class. You won't regret it. This was my favorite class!! Take his class off-campus if you can.

Good luck staying awake. Don't take it in the morning, it is the most boring class I have taken.

He is layed back and easy-going. The way the class is structured is amazing. He created these things called "web days" which are amazing if you need a break from that class for a day to get caught up. Online activities enable you to easily get a good grade.

If you're looking for an easy general/lecture, take this class! Vassar is great. There is a lot of participation points but they are all easy and help you learn. That way if you dont do too well on the tests you should still be ok. Just do the assignments, and the participation, and go over the study guide and you will be golden!

Incredibly easy class, go to class, do the online assignments. Tests are EXACTLY whats on the study guides, everything on the study guides is right out of the book. Boring to listen to, but print out the slides so you don't have to take notes and its a breeze. Doesn't really give any homework other than d2l stuff and a couple assignments. Easy A

Class is definitely easy, but VERY BORING. Do NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IN THE MORNING! Lots of extra credit, online assignment are easy points and he's very helpful.

Took as summer class, 5 weeks, 1hr 45mn a day. You don't NEED to go class, but make sure you get all 4 in class response papers done by the end. Really nice teacher with fun little stories. Lots of examples to help understand material. A fun, fun guy. Doesn't like cell phone/internet usage, but he never called me out on it either.GREAT CLASS!

This guy is amazing. Never seen someone with some much information and someone so organized. D2L is FILLED with material.VERY helpful! Answers to all e-mails to length and is very easy to talk to. I highly recommend him- very inteligent & he even helped make the book we use!

Funny guy, tells great stories. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does surprise you with reaction papers (usually when people walk out of class). Can get boring but only because the class is over an hour. Super simple material and everything is up on D2L (including notes). Unlimited attempts for quizzes. So great! Definitely recommend him.

He is an amazing teacher, he is very helpful and you actually do learn and it is very interesting. Don't take this class with anyone but him. I personally think he's the best professor at MNSU. You'll love it.

Steve was a great teacher!! tests were easy, he gives you study guides and helps if you need help. You have web activities and discussion boards but they are not hard.

Easy grader, lectures can get a little boring but you can handle it. Make sure to get to class to get the clicker activities and in-class writing assignments. Discussions and assignments are online, grades are always up-to-date. Great funny guy! Knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

He is a very easy guy to understand. His lectures get long and boring and are not really important regarding tests but you get points for in class assingments so you should go until you do all the ones you need to. I skipped alot but studied hard for the tests and still got an A. His expecations of you are very reasonable and not hard. Easy A

Best class I've had in my two years at MSU. The professor is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter, seems very willing to assist students, and always presents an interesting lecture. The class has a variety if requirements, many of which are interesting. The text book is readable and to earn a B is not too difficult if you study a bit.

His class is very easy. All of the homework and quizzes are online. He allows you unlimited attempts at the quizzes and about 3 weeks to do all of the homework and quizzes. There are in-class activites that are worth points. Make sure to do every study guide for the test. If you understand everything on the study guide you will do well on the tests

TAKE THIS CLASS! He takes a week or two to get used to, but he is a great teacher. Very knowledgeable, on-spot test grading, online quizzes, very fair homework workload. Read the chapter, take the quizzes & if you do bad, figure out what you are struggling on and try again. Great class, excellent teacher. Hoping he teachers other classes!

I definitely recommend taking any class that he teaches he is an awesome professor who sparked my interest in Sociology and now it is one of my minors. It is easy to go to his class because he makes it really interesting and not at all boring.
