Took this class Spring 2004. Class was overall easy. Heavy note taking! He does not assign test AT ALL. Everything is essay written. All you have to do is take notes, reread over them, write a page or two about it. As long as you try, he passes you with a "C". Final is also a take home essay.

He will cover the spectrum so well that in the end you can teach the class...(in a good way) He may seem a little ****ed @ first but it makes the class funny and enjoyable. His assistant J-son is a crack-up too :) Together they make the perfect duo. There's a lot of notes in the class, and there's a writing assignment every week. 2 quizzes/ 2 Exams and the Exams you get to take home. Work hard and it will pay off. Professor Wallech is pretty demanding and if you do not write his thesis paragraphs the way he wants them, you will not pass. However, if you go to his office hours he will help you and in some cases even write your thesis statement for you. I just signed his roll sheet and left after the first 5min and was able to get an A

Wallech is one of the most self-absorbed members of the old guard boy's club of academic historians. Fond of grammar lessons (???), fonder of sexism-laced lectures & inappropriate jokes. Makes women in the class v. uncomfortable & is openly condescending to those who find themselves confused by his ridiculous standards w regards to his thesis 's

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. He's very pretentious and makes you use the book that HE wrote. If you don't understand something he'll help you, but only after he makes you feel stupid for not understanding the material that is, again, based on the book he wrote. Class is really tough. He grades somewhat easy, but you will still struggle. You will suffer.

He may be the best history professor I've ever had, and he also helped me overcome my displeasure about writing formulaic essays. I was frustrated at first because I thought his class required too much work, but once I put actual effort into reading the chapters and showing up, the rest was cake. He's incredibly helpful and so intelligent.

All his lectures are centered around power points he gives in class, and he waits for everyone to finish taking notes before moving on. He's very straightforward about how he wants his essays written and gives excellent feedback -always willing to meet during office hours to help. Reading textbook gives backbone to lectures and helps with essays

Mr. Wallech was both a simple, but pleasant teacher. Just show up to class, write (but preferably type out) all the notes and it'll work out. Asides from that, just make sure when he gives out work you do it, along with fact checking whatever you got. Other than that, it was both educational and simple to follow.

Prof. Wallech teaches an interesting but detail-heavy class. Seems to engage only a few students during lectures. Uses slides which are very concise and easy to understand. Requires reading multiple texbooks (which he authored). Exams are essays in which you HAVE to follow his style to get the best possible grade. His class is NOT for the lazy.

Avoid this prof at all costs. Very hard to understand & very condescending when asked him to explain. His slides look like a novel and does not let you write anything down&tells you to take a pic of it to basically figure it out on your own. Provides "help" if you ask but is very vague. couldn't get an email back. Passed but disliked his style.

Scroll down and read the review, there's a consistent pattern. I'm a decent 4.0 student and I do not recommend this professor. Condescend and very bad vibe; (read more from other students). No lecture or video, PP and doc. Q's will be met with check the syllabus which does not specify which chapter to read. This is not my 1st socio class, he sucks.

Also, it looks like multiple students review have been recently taken down which provided consistent infor. You have better luck of succeeding with another professor. The Human1 class is 2 class in one for 3 credit, not worth the value. Do yourself a favor and make your life simpler or more efficient by picking another professor.

He's unworthy to be your teacher and is there to serve himself. There are a lot of educators on this campus who are seeking reassurance or validation for their doctorate, since they did not get to use it for what they initially plan for. Easy A & college-experience if you're good at stroking ego and obeying; do it his way or it's the highway.

Wallech has a problem with technology, lectures are like reading a book, and his test are ONLY thesis statements. 3 credits for 2 classes worth of stuff.

This was legitimately the worst Professor I have ever interacted with. He is snide, does not leave constructive criticism, and presents problems with your writing with no solution. You are made to teach yourself and write based on his personal model, then he punishes you for not giving enough insight when he prohibits that. I would not recommend.

I don't know if he's the same way in-person/Zoom but in the asynchronous class, our assignments are ONLY thesis paragraphs that need to be written in a specific way. More variety and freedom would be nice. His powerpoints and his feedback are also not helpful at all. I'm getting better grades on my English essays! Prof Faltas is great though.

Although Dr. Wallech's class can be tough, it is a great class! Growth comes from challenge and for people to be upset by it is a shame. Not every Professor at LBCC is going to give easy A's, some may actually make you work for it. I would definitely recommend this class and wouldn't let the negativity on here sway me not to.
