Bass is fun. He dresses acts like a goomba, but don't think he's Italian. If you're up for a class where you never check your watch take him. His tests can be tricky, but if your cool with him he'll bump you up a letter.

Nice guy, uses many examples and makes sure you can follow along with your note taking. Two tests and then a non cumulative final. No papers. Go to class, keep good notes, and he will keep u entertained.

This guy was freakin hysterical. As long as you go to class and take notes, you will do fine on the tests. I will say this much he does talk kinda fast but just slow enough to get your crap together. He had a good sense of humor which kept it alive.

First of all, go to class. Second of all, take all the notes. Third, read the notes and you'll get most of the exam. This guy is hilarious, and his classes aren't boring. Quite interesting.

Professor Bass is a good teacher but tests are hard, u have to be in class so u can get the notes for the test but even after u study the notes the tests are still hard. He is a funny guy who looks like he can be on the Sopranos which by the way loves. He also loves to talke about happy hr.

Prof. Bass aka "Tony Soprano" iz the coolest. Great guy, real funny... a true "paysan" lol (spelling??) No but all jokez aside, this dude iz a great teacher, tests arent hard, and the materila is pretty straight foward. Only thing iz u better be a good note taker. He some fly ass suits too, lol

BLAW is not the easiest subject. Even if you are having trouble understanding he is willing to help you if you show you are working hard at it. He is very helpful and its a must you go to class. Take good notes cause when it comes to the tests your notes are what you need the textbook is pointless

Best professor I had at hofstra. I hated law, but LOVED this class. Bass is such a funny guy, he`ll make you laugh all class. Class flies by. Tests are kinda tough, but I got an A in the class. Absolutely the best Professor here... He shocked me at the end when he said "If you do good on the final, and you did bad on everything else, you'll get a good grade" I have changed my major to business law just to take more classes with him.

The funniest and most practical teacher I have ever had. Sounds mean just to get a laugh out of people but he's really a nice guy and encourages people to stop by his office if they need any help. Always backs up his notes with clear examples and his exams are straight out of the notes. Would take him again if I could.

This is one of the best professors I've had so far. He really good, and his class is not that difficult. All of the exams are based on class notes, so if you go to class you'll be fine, and if you don't he'll tell you what you need to study for the exams. If you are a business or law student and don't take Bass at least once.. you are an idiot! Bass is a wonderful, funny, and non-boring teacher. How many people can say that about their professors?! His tests are pretty simple and you a guaranteed a good grade if you write down the notes. take him!

He is wonderful if you do not mind listening about his private life (his former wife, for example) or his political views. He actually asked students to raise their hands and show who they were going to vote for (at the pres. elections), expressing his views on the subject pretty clearly. He started very engaging though and on the subject.

100% worth it. Forget the textbook (kind of) and listen to his lectures. He has the best examples and his stories are just great at 9 in the morning. If you can get into his class, do it! You will not regret it! Not to mention that his knowledge of the material is very extensive. There's not a chance in hell that you will fall asleep in his class.

Awesome guy. He puts a lot of humor into his classes, with funny stories or jokes that liven things up, while never wasting much time or straying too far from the subject. He teaches pretty well and clearly. Pretty much no textbook use or attendance is required. However, his tests are fairly difficult, so pay attention in class and study well.

Bass is hilarious, but sometimes his jokes get a little harsh, and i think it discourages some students from participating and asking questions. However, he really knows his subject and his tests arent too bad, as long as you study. Not too much work either

He gives 3 tests in the semester that take a lot of time to study for. A lot. His tests are all from the notes he gives us, which you have to write down when he is lecturing. He rarely writes on the board. His classes are extremely fun, and he is a really nice guy. Definitely take him, he's one of the best teachers I've taken!

This class was not an easy A, but he makes boring material interesting. I used the textbook to help me study. You are required to take good notes. His classes have a great atmosphere and he is very approachable. I am learning so much from him; he is definitely one of my favorites so far. I suggest you take him. Bass is a fantastic professor. He makes horribly dry legal studies extremely engaging and easy to understand. He uses a lot of real world examples to demonstrate the concepts we study. He's funny, sarcastic and teaches a very fun class. The midterm and final were a bit hard, but if you really really study and go off of his notes you'll be fine.

Bass is a great orator. He is extremely dynamic and makes a boring subject, like legal studies, beyond fascinating. There are three tests and they determine one's grade, it is primarily application based, so go to class and take thorough notes. Also, ask any questions if you're confused, he is very helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

If you don't show up to class and take decent notes for Bass's Class you're screwed. I had him for winter and ended up with an A-. I got a 90 on the first test, 78, on the second and GOD ONLY KNOWS what I got on the Final. But I'm pretty sure participation doesn't count unless you piss him off lol.

If you take this class, which I HIGHLY recommend, you will enjoy it. Don't bother buying the textbook, you don't need it t all. Your notes are good enough, but study them hard. His exams questions are real life scenarios, not definitions, so make sure you can apply the legal terms he gives you to the real world.

Bass was awesome! I had him 3 times (Contract Law was my favorite with him). He always had good stories to tell to demonstrate concepts. His exams are very difficult, though --mostly b/c they're law school type "apply the law you (should) know to the facts here." He was always helpful and he eventually became my "Godfather/Mentor on campus." :)

Bass starts off the semester by letting you know this material is BORING, but he makes it interesting. Yeah, there were certain topics that were a drag, but overall he turns boring lectures into interesting situations/anecdotes. I definitely learned a lot of useful, real world information from this class.

Stuart Bass really cares about all his students. He is a very sweet and funny. He does warn you that lectures are boring but tries to make it the best possible. He lets you know that he is there for you and exams arent everything in Life and that he will never fail anyone. Really love him! Class consists of 3 exams from notes.

Best professor Ive ever had in 4 years of college. It was a pretty boring class but Bass made it enjoyable. He usually ends class early, always tells you exactly what you need to know for tests and makes the material easy to understand. Hes also HILARIOUS and full of wisdom. Legal is one of the worst ZARB classes to take; take it with this guy.

God send! Get the textbook if you do not do well with lectures. If you have any concerns Bass is willing to hear you out and is willing to work with you about anything that may be going on. There's a midterm and a final. STUDY FOR THEM! It is an easy course but you do not study you'll end up hurting yourself. Registration goes fast!

With classes being online, his approach to teaching is essentially show up if you want, or don't he doesn't care. Just do good on your tests (Maybe 2 or 3) and be respectful.

Bass is great! I was unhappy with my two test scores (we only had 2 usually 3) and I was also in honors, so I wrote two brief cases and a case study along with taking notes every class and because of my effort I got a better grade than I wanted. Take notes, study. He tells you what to expect and he delivers.

Bass is probably one of the best professors at Hofstra. His lectures are NEVER boring. One thing about his class is that he just talks from memory, doesn't use notes and doesn't put things on the board so its important to pay attention and go to class. 15 yr later, Bass still crosses my mind with his lectures, real world applications, and how he engaged and made it interactive. He shaped the way I thought and my career and I don't think he knows it. He wrote my letter of recommendation for B school and I'm forever grateful. He is a hilarious and engaging professor, but you absolutely need to show up to class since he doesn't post slides or notes. Very test heavy with 50 multiple choice, but they are not impossible, and he's easily accessible outside of class. I learned a lot through him, and the lectures make it worth studying for the tests. Highly recommend.

Professor Stuart Bass is a nice professor. You have to take notes from what he says he doesn't use PowerPoints, everything has to be typed or written, but he doesn't rush, he will repeat if you ask him. Gives 3 tests which all add up to your overall grade. You have to attend classes or get notes from someone to know what's going to be on the test.

This class is based completely on what he says in class! If you miss a class you will already be behind. He doesn't post anything on canvas, and his whole class is just him sitting in the front lecturing the whole time. The way he teaches is great and his examples keep you super engaged. The exams were moderately hard but still very passable.

Prof. Bass is one of the most entertaining professors I've ever had. Even though he is lecture heavy, he is super easy to listen to and understand. I have no complaints about his teaching style. However, the class is based solely on exams, so if you mess up on one or even two of them, you're grade may slip a bit. Enjoyable course overall.

If you're not a good test taker, I strongly advise against taking him. However, if you plan on actually learning the material, he is going to be awesome. He explains things so clearly and the tests are exactly like his lectures, so PAY ATTENTION.
