Borsch is a strange, yet awesome man. You need to take his specialty classes on Islam, they're sweet. His knowledge of the Middle East is impressive, and he knows Arabic. A good man, an American hero.

Nice guy, easy class, easy assignments, take home final, 1 page paper every week, class discussions, movies, but hard to sit through

Good guy. His class is pretty good and he is fun to talk to. The class isnt too hard, and interesting to learn about.

He is a great professor. The class is soo easy, but yet interesting and you learn a lot. He is a little strange, but there is only a midterm and final, and he made the research paper he assigned opitonal. Great guy, Great class.

You dont have to go to class but do well on the tests. You wont have to worry about that though hes gives you the answers.

This sounds like the professor that taught in Columbia & LAGCC (NYC). He is so awesome and shows Mel Brooks flicks. Easy A. We saw Caligula & Mel Brooks flicks. Easiest A and best time ever! Must participate and only a moron would fail his class; he basically draws a map for you in crayon!!!

Had him for West and the World II. He is the BEST PROFESSOR EVER especially if you have a difficult major and need an easy gen ed. Watched movies, had about one real class, got out early, didn't use the books at ALL, and I have an A. You will not regret having the Stu Borsch experience.

He is probably the best history teacher. I've taken 3 classes with him and he is just the best. Funny and extremely smart. Tests are easy. Gives you 8 questions and has you pick 5 to answer in a paragraph. No papers. Interesting lectures. Take him!

Professor Borsch is brilliant! He is excellent at what he does and really wants you to learn. He is also very flexible and wants you not to freak out but rather to learn and enjoy the class!

Very strange man. He is really nice and happy to help and answer any questions you may have. He really knows what he's talking about. Just make sure that you jot down a few things in class, skim the reading and you'll be fine. Also, the movie watching is awesome and surprisingly helpful. A must at Assumption College!

If you do no not like going to class this is the class for you. Does not take attendance. Ever. So enjoy the time off. Has two tests in the class where he gives you the questions and the answers. I didn't do anything in this class and got a B+. Take his classes and you will not regret it. Have fun

Professor Borsch is a weird man...Easy A class...You only have a midterm and final. He gives you the answers and you don't use the books for the class AT ALL. If you hate history and just need a GENED take this teacher..He shows a lot of movies.

If you need a GPA booster, this is the class to take. Wicked nice guy. Makes everything crystal clear. There's only a midterm and a final. Do not buy the books for the class because you hardly use them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I don't like history and am awful at it. I really enjoyed Prof. Borsch and wish I had enough room to take him again. He doesn't stick firmly to the syllabus at all. But, I learned about a lot of current events and recent history that I wouldn't have learned otherwise. 2 five short answer exams, 1 paper. You don't need to buy the books.

Do not buy the books for this class! Both the midterm and final are straight from the powerpoint slides! Only has 2 papers and 2 exams throughout the semester. He is very easy though.

He's the best and his class is really interesting. We spend the majority of the class talking about current events and I have learned so much about what is going on in the world because of him. He picks topics students are interested in and he makes you want to learn more on these topics. Great professor and I very highly recommend him!

Great teacher and really good guy. Very intelligent, opportunity to learn a lot from him about what is going on in the middle east that you may not have known otherwise. Extremely open to modifying class structure based on students interest as long as it correlates to history in some manner.

Very intelligent Professor, he does a phenomenal job of covering current events in the world especially in regards to the Middle East. It's a really special feat when you can go to class and not be preoccupied with grades and assignment etc. but have the opportunity to learn about history and the world - information you wouldn't learn otherwise.

Borsch is a MUST take Professor. He truly cares about his students& is so passionate about what he teaches. The class is "easy" as everyone says because he thoroughly teaches each subject matter& its very clear what he wants you to get from it all. Wants the students to find the class interesting. Professor Borsch made history come alive. Honestly, the best history prof I had. You watch countless youtube videos, but it keeps you updated with the news. He always is willing to help. Great guy! (The head of the department though is mean and will not sign you into his classes.) If you are lucky to have him as your prof, you're golden

Prof. Stuart Borsch is the MAN! Prior to taking his classes, I dreaded the thought of taking history because it's not my favorite subject to say the least. I was fortunate enough to have him for both HIS 114 & 115! He is so sweet & hilarious, and usually plays video clips in class to update you on events around the world. Easy A :)

Easiest A you'll ever receive. You barely have to show up, there's no assignments or readings ever, and he emailed the midterm questions verbatim to us via a PowerPoint. Hoping this class serves as a GPA booster.

Where do I begin, he is such a genuine person who really really cares about his students and hates to give a bad grade more than we hate to get them. He will try to give you the best grade he possibly can. You end up watching videos all class and some great movies about Rome. Would take again.

Professor Borsch is honestly one of the most intelligent people I've met. He makes sure everyone in the class understands his lectures, and is very lenient when grading exams. If you actually read the material he assigns and go to his office hours you will truly learn a lot from him. There are no surprises on his exams at all and truly he is a gem

Take Professor Borsch. If you want an easy A, you can get that. If you genuinely want to learn about history, you can also get that. His willingness to meet outside of class and extend his help is unmatched. He will give you all the materials you need to pass his exams as well.

This man LITERALLY asks YOU, what to do in the course. 0 homework, 2 tests that are in between 3-6 questions (which he gives you with answers as a study guide),with the OPTION to take a third test. He gives you his phone number and has zooms open until 1 am to help sometimes. He is the definition of an incredible teacher, and an unbelievable person

Listen here you freshman, looking to fulfill a credit. I swear to god if you take ANYBODY other than Stuart Borsch you're making the biggest mistake of your college career. If you take this man, please actually go to his class. He is such a nice and great professor; cares about his students very much. Most of how he plans his classes is about what the students want/need. I would definitely recommend this course with this teacher for an easy A for the history requirement.

After 4 classes with Professor Borsch, I must say that he is one of the most intelligent and brilliant people I have ever met. He has an engineering and economics background and ties them into his primary focus in history. He speaks fluent Arabic and his Islamic History course was incredibly informative. I have never learned more from anyone else.

Professor Borsch is the best, this man's lectures are so well put together and thought provoking. He loves to discuss historical events after class and makes fantastic analogies. He can be a little scatterbrained however he is one of the most brilliant people I have met in my life.

Professor Borsch is a great professor. Attendance is not mandatory, which can be great if you don't want to go, however if you do go, Professor Borsch is an amazing lecturer and is really helpful if you need him. He is funny, caring, smart, and helpful and if you want/need to take a history credit, he should be a go-to candidate.

Similar to other reviews of Professor Borsch, he is a very simple professor, you have two exams/papers you must do, and do well on them, and you will do well in his class. If you show up to his classes, he will like you even more. I love professor Borsch, and he is an amazing lecturer. Take him if you can!
