So professor Dees is young and hot. He is super funny, really nice and down to earth. It's a boring subject for the most part but he makes it fun and explains things really well. Every class is like a conversation about a topic instead of a lecture you can't wait to get out of. Definitely take his class if you want to pass. He's an easy grader too.
He's always willing to help and is really down to earth! An easy class as long as you do the assignments, which aren't many. It also helps that he's really attractive.
Attendance is mandatory because there's no point in being in class. You look up online how to write each paper because he's no help... Cares more about MLA and sources then paper quality, so as long as you write a paper and meet minimum requirements you will get an A.
Prof Dees was a good professor to have for someone just starting out in college. He's laid back and not a tough grader. Sometimes he's unclear about what he expects but if you just ask him he's more than happy to help. 5 papers and 1 presentation, but they all interlocked with each other. No tests and just reading assignments sometimes.
Great teacher who is hilarious. Gives easy grades however, expects you to become a better writer.
He is awesome! He makes class very interesting and is always positive! Super helpful with everything grade related. He is a professor that actually wants you to do well. I highly recommend him to anyone. You will get an A no problem if you just show up and do your best.
Stuart Dees English 2 class is an easy A if you do the work and go to class. If you follow the guidelines of what he wants for each assingment and paper than you are almost guaranteed an A.
Professor Dees was an awesome teacher for comp 2. Homework was not that hard to do. Always tried to engage the class during those awkward moments. As long as you participate in class he won't assign quizzes all semester. Overall, was a great teacher and would recommend him to anyone who asked.
He is very good and a lot of fun
Professor Dees is an amazing professor. He really cares about his students and is pretty laid back. He even brought us pizza to eat while taking our final exam. If I could take him again for ENC 1102 I definitely would. As long as you put in the effort you should receive a good grade. Highly recommend.
HE was a great professor and i would recommend him to anyone! I would say this class was an easy A for me and it required a lot of work but he was always very helpful when needed!
Good teacher that cares about your success
Young guy, very kind and very understanding. He has a very relaxed view on how English should be taught, and he allowed my class unlimited revisions on our papers that he would regrade without penalty. Very good teacher, knows what he's talking about.
Professor Dees was my favorite professor! He is so sweet and cares, and lets you rewrite papers as many times as you want. Attendance is mandatory but the class is so fun that it flies by. Lots of reading, but they aren't hard
Professor Dees is the best ENC 1102 teacher! There's a semester long research paper, but its broken up into parts so at the end you just put them all together. Allows papers to be revised. No tests or midterms. The final is an informal panel presentation. There's also one group project that is super easy. Overall, this is great class and professor!
Dees is the perfect professor if writing is something you do not enjoy. He makes it bearable and wants everyone to succeed. He is a fairly easy grader and if you do the revision logs for your work most likely he will change your grade to an A. He does assign readings for every class, but most of the time you can get by without having to talk.
Laid-back English I professor. You can submit papers as many times as you like before the deadline and get good feedback; do this. You will be confident in your paper the more times you submit them. Go to class and ALWAYS bring your textbook. If you show up to class and submit stuff on time, there is no way to fail
Literally one of the best professors I've ever had. The class is rough because of the confusing materials, but Dees is always willing to help you out. He's super chill and funny and just wants everyone to love class. He's the only one who can make this class tolerable. Attendance WILL affect your grade. You gotta do the work.
Dees is an amazing professor. Without him ENC1101 would have been confusing. He gets rid of the stress of being new to college, and can really make you laugh. He actually cares about his students and how you're absorbing the content. As long as you read before class he'll explain everything you didn't previously understand. 10/10 would recommend.
I felt as though he wanted us to be "woke" in his class. He would try to inspire us but I felt as if he was trying to be more "cool" with us. Overall the class is easy but you need to show up or you will drop at least 2 pts in your overall grade. He does seem to be scatter whenever he assigns papers so talking to the people around you will help you
Great professor. He really enjoys discussions though so if the class wasn't talkative he would give a quiz to make sure we were doing the readings from the textbook. He grades really easy especially if you talk to him about your papers. I ended with a 100% in his class. Also he'll tell you that you NEED the UCF Writes "textbook" but you don't.
You can tell he really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Very helpful and gives good feedback. Not a super tough grader but you do have to put in effort on papers. You get a chance to revise them at the end of the semester and resubmit for new grade.
If you take Prof Dees you will not regret it. He is very nice and cares for his students. He is always willing to help and although you have a few essays throughout the semester they are not impossible and he gives a good outline to follow. Just take him I promise.
Very easy going and nice professor. Class attendance is mandatory and if you dont show up your grade will be affected. Very clear in what he expects from you and what you need to pass his class.
Professor Dees is one of the best professors I've had at UCF. He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and actually made me enjoy writing. Such a cool guy that I would feel bad for not reading the assigned readings (not enough to make me actually read but you get the gyst). I'd highly recommend Professor Dees!
Dees was honestly the best professor ive ever had. He makes the assignments super easy to understand and its not overwhelming. Definitely would take him again
Professor: Prof. Dees clearly cares about his students and their continued success. His feedback was both helpful and constructive. Course: Very easy. Grade based on four assignments and many discussion posts. I didn't lose a single point this semester, and didn't have to break my back with work. Overall: Best Choice for ENC 1102 at UCF
Mr. Dees is probably the best English teacher I have ever had the pleasure of having. I feel like he genuinely cares about his students and what he teaches, plus he got me to see the subject in a new light. He talks to the class from the pov of the students and cares more about content then grammatical errors. 10/10 would def take again!
Dees is the best professor I've had in my time at UCF. Very funny, understanding and cool. Makes the class easy and is always there to help.
Prof Dees is a great teacher, he really cares about his students and wants them to understand the material. In the class you do one group project talking about a section of the book, and write a research paper in increments throughout the semester. Pretty easy class, great prof. I'd highly recommend.
Easy. He wants you pass and has no problem helping his students so they succeed in writing , its easy to see he cares and he tries to get to know his students and puts effort to his lectures
The greatest professor I've had at UCF. Just show up to class and participate. He's there to help you with your essay and doesn't make the class any more difficult than it should be. I actually feel like I've learned a lot from this class and I don't feel like this class drained me
Attendance is graded, but you can get a B without showing up. One major paper and group project due towards the end of the year. He gives plenty of notice. Clearly lays out what he's expecting. There's an article you have to read every week. In class discussions are lengthy, but he steers the majority of the conversation. 5 pts for every class.
Professor Dees is probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He is kind, respectful, honest, and always ready to help! He is very understanding and empathetic. The big assignments seem heavy at first but he is always there to help and he gives opportunities for revision. I have a 100%
Dees is a great professor, super free-form, write about what you want, not alot of assignments. Super nice guy, lets you do revisions on all major projects
Truly the best professor you could ask for in an English Composition course. Professor Dees is very passionate about his job and wants all of his students to succeed. He gives all the resources necessary to do well, and you will never feel confused about what is expected of you. I see no possible scenario in which you would dislike this professor.
Best English Professor at UCF! Professor Dees helps you exceed your max potential in English! Super understanding and all around a great individual! He gives you opportunities to redo most of your writing and gives great feedback! Take him!!
Dees is amazing, if you're reading this and are willing to give some effort in your writing, you will succeed. He is there for you to discuss grades and tips on writing and research. I love this guy, you will too.
He assigns readings each week which are useful for projects and contain relevant information. Professor Dees explains all the assignments very well and I never felt confused for assignments. He grades very fairly and gives you the chance to resubmit assignments. He provides great feedback for all the assignments so you can achieve highly.
He's the best ENC teacher I could have asked for. Really cared about his students, and always gave great feedback. Very caring person and his class is set up in a clear that is not confusing whatsoever. Would take again.
I've had some amazing professors at UCF, but Prof. Dees has definitely been one of the best. He is super funny and caring, and truly wants to make this class useful and influential. He is one of those professors who I would feel comfortable reaching out to for the rest of my undergrad experience.
Professor Dees is awesome and really easy going. He has a great way of making you feel involved and passionate about english even if you don't necessarily like to read or write. The class is an easy A if you show up to class and put in some effort.
Mr. Dees is the best professor you could ask for. He has 1-2 easy small assignments every week. In addition to the 5 major assignments that make up the majority of the class. The first three major assignments you can resubmit for full credit unlimited times. He's a nice guy, very smart and informative. I finished the class with a 100%. Take him!
Truly cares about what he is teaching and makes writing not as awful as you remember it.
He is an amazing professor and really cares about his students. Each student only has one presentation and it is really straightforward. There is really no due date since he gives unlimited revisions. He is really caring and gives really good feedback. 100% would take him again if I could. Attendance does count.
Genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Hes very straightforward with his expectations for all assignments. Probably the easiest and nicest English professor for ENC1102.
professor dees is awesome, he makes class fun and i've really learned a lot. would take again
Professor Dees gave clear guidelines on how each part of the ENC 1102 research paper should be which was very helpful! Unlimited revisions on papers (until end of semester), one partner presentation (easy), and in-class activities that are graded (so you have to show up). As long as you put effort in, you'll be fine! Professor Dees was great.
He is really understanding and will go out his way to help you, and his grading system is also very helpful to all students. I would highly recommend anyone to take Professor Dees for either 1101 or 1102
Loved this class! it was pretty easy and he allowed revisions on major assignments. The class requires two books that are easy to rent out and don't cost much. His class is pretty flexible if you are looking for a professor who doesn't have hard deadlines.
Professor Dees made english fun--I actually felt like I improved as a writer and the readings were pretty cool. Didn't expect to enjoy writing as much as I did--thanks Mr D!
Best English professor I've ever had. This man is very hands-on and is always willing to help if you're ever struggling. He gives some lengthy assignments but he allows you to redo them to get a higher grade and makes sure you understand what you're learning. He is very caring and funny too. I highly recommend him!!
Really cool teacher, accepts last work for half credit but late work is a minute late from due date to like three days later. 2 textbooks but you use them a lot and they help w his essays a lott.
A great professor that genuinely cares about his students. The lectures were not mandatory. There are quizzes/homework weekly, but it is easy to get an A on. You will have 5 "major assignments" in the semester that act as the tests. They are longer 1,000+ word papers but you can resubmit them if you're not satisfied with the grade. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Professor Dees is a great choice for ENC1101. He is clear on instruction, and always answers questions. This class does have a lot of writing, but it's pretty personal and has room for creativity, so it's enjoyable. He also offers revisions to papers which is nice. The other assignments like discussions are simple and no trouble at all. Great pick!
Really great professor. Always willing to take the time and talk to you. 10/10
Dees is a great professor for ENC 1102. I had him for ENC 1101 too and you can tell that he really cares about his students and their work. The class does take itself a little too seriously for a gen ed but with that said Dees does a good job of making it enjoyable. As long as you put a bit of effort into the work you should get an A.
great teacher! take the class.
very dedicated teacher. recommend going to class, took him online and there were few students who joined the zoom but he easily recognized students who came frequently and appreciated them. Gives feedback on major assignments and allows you to resubmit for more credit as long as the original draft is submitted by deadline. highly recommend him
Professor Dees is very nice. He really cares about the success of his students. Professor Dees allows students to resubmit MA1-MA4 to allow students to boost their grades. Overall, I would highly recommend him to any of my friends.
Great professor! He respects everyone and is very caring. Despite lots of writing and other assignments, I ended the class with a 100.
Great professor, very respectful and kind. Does not lecture for lengthy periods of time. Class is only mandatory a few certain days. Occasionally allows time in class to complete work. Does not choose expensive textbooks.
Great teacher. Came into UCF despising English, but Professor Dees made me actually like writing. He is understanding and extremely kind. I would take this class again because it is enjoyable, easy, and fun to participate in.
Going into my first college-level English class, I was very scared, but Dees did a great job organizing a well-paced and manageable class. I would recommend coming in during office hours on any draft review days, as he will gladly go through it and make suggestions that can get you a nice 100% on each one if followed.
Took Professor Dees over the summer. Literally got a 100% and actually learned a lot. Pretty easy class, funny guy, and overall a great experience for an English class.
Mr. Dees was my favorite professor this semester. You can really tell that he cares about his students and if you put in the effort you will learn so much. It may seem like a lot of work, but each assignment helps build-up to the larger ones. I came into this class hating writing, but Mr. Dees helped me change my mindset. Cannot recommend enough.
This was one of my favorite classes! He really cares about helping students improve and teaching us more about writing. We usually had 1-2 assignments due every week, but it was very manageable. The textbooks were pretty short and easy but filled with very helpful information. He helped me love writing and is genuinely really nice and funny.
He is a great professor, very laid back. I took him for ENC 1101 and 1102. Assignments are easy just make sure you do them all. He takes attendance and there are in class activities, but they are easy.
Such an easygoing and caring professor! As someone who already enjoys writing, I did not feel any academic stress during this class. He made assignments easy to understand and praised you for participating. 4 Major Assignments and one presentation which was super easy. Take this teacher!! 10/10
Professor Dees is a great instructor. I don't enjoy writing, but I did benefit greatly from this course. Be prepared to put in a good bit of effort, but he is fair and reasonable and he grades assignments quickly. He also gives great feedback and really seems to care about his students.
Professor Dees is the best person in the universe. He is very caring and funny. His assignments are not hard at all. There are three major assignments and a final. We have class discussions on a book quite often and he values the opinions of his students. I would recommend professor Dees to everyone. :)
I would 100% recommend taking professor Dees over all the other ENC 1102 teachers. For every essay, you can revise for extra credit as many times as you want(so if you try at all, you get a 100 on every single essay). Take his class if you want an easy A for a GEP. If you don't get a 95+ in this class it's because you didn't give any effort.
He was truly a pleasure to have.
Very easy class just participate and you'll be fine.
Prof Dees is awesome!! I currently am still taking him for ENC 1101 and having him is a pleasure to have. Very funny and easygoing, and cares on what his students think about the class material. Just make sure to submit on time and engage in group discussions in class at least once as that replaces some assignments.
I definitely recommend ENC 1101 and 1102 with Professor Dees, he is such a fun and understanding professor. As long as you do the quizzes and major assignments you're fine. Most classwork is super easy and often dismissed as long as you're in class. He gives us opportunities to revise our major assignments as many times as we want.
The whole class is about writing about yourself and "learning" about why writing is important. He allows 3 extra days for major assignments after the due date, to turn it in. There is two grade drop of short assignments. One opportunity for extra credit. Be aware if you are talking during class he will call you out and make you share lol.
I love Professor Dees! He made my experience with writing so much better, I honestly became a better writing because I took him for enc1101 and enc1102. He is so lenient and although the course load is a lot, you have so much time and opportunities to get it done, that it doesnt even feel like a lot. I recommend him to anyone!
Professor Dees was such a kind professor and made sure that his assignments were clear for all of his students. The class was really easy to get an A in. He provided a lot of extra credit assignments that were easy to complete. There are discussions, four major assignments (including a final portfolio), and quizzes.
A good younger professor that understands college students. Makes sure that everyone understands the assignments. I dislike writing a lot but his class made it easy, a very light workload as long as you do the assignments on time. Would take his class again.
One of the best professors I've ever had at UCF, he is very caring for his students and really wants them to do good. He is very helpful throughout the whole course and I would recommend anyone to take him as your professor.
amazing prof. class was engaging and all the work was easy to follow. easy grader and really cares about students. all exams are open book and the final is for extra credit. 10/10 would take again.
Really enjoyed this class despite the fact I don't normally like english courses. Class was engaging and interesting. He is a very caring professor and is helpful in guiding you the right direction. Major assignments can be revised and you can learn to correct your writing mistakes.
such a good professor! i had him over the summer and it was definitely different than what I'm used to because it was writing about yourself. the papers were super easy once you get the hang of his style. he's also super understand and lenient with his students. his class wasn't just about the grade, but actually learning.
He is a nice professor. He want the students to get an "A". His assignments are pretty clear and relatable easy. Class are pretty chil. He is an easy grader and gives opportunity to improve your grades.
4 major projects which are cumulative to the 3rd project. The 4th is an e-portfolio. There'll be other smaller writing assignments but he makes it so you have a step-by-step guideline. Gives great feedback and updates on how to better progress through the semester.
He is there to help you succeed and watch your knowledge grow on writing. He's super passionate about future generations seeing the importance of writing and I appreciate that. The course-load can be tricky, but he understands and give extended deadlines and lots of extra time. If you do or don't like writing, you'll still get a kick out of this.
Best professor ever! He is almost always available for you when you need help so don't hesitate to reach out to him and go to his office hours. Assignments were simple and you actually learn something from them. You have 4 major assignments throughout the semester but as long as you stay on top of your work you are going to succeed.
Super great professor! He genuinely cares about his students, and made the writing process extremely easy to follow. The only reason to not get an A would be if you never came to class and never did your assignments. Would 100% take again.
