I drove him crazy with questions, but compared to other professors he answered every one and held my hand through the learning process. He does assign a tremendous amount of work but as long as he sees u complete them and put effort in you will be fine. GREATEST PROFESSOR EVER! I LOVED HIS CLASS! Definitely easy A if you do all the work...I handed in a 7 pg paper he just glanced for about 10 seconds, saw i used a word he wanted the class to use in it and said 'great, u get an A' and handed it back. Everyone in class was just like, 'are you serious.' TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

First of all, he has a great voice. I would have an orgasm too if i had a voice like his. They got one thing right, he is very nice but, he is a great teacher. All he wants is to see you succeed. He has funny jokes and if that person had a sense of humor or any personality they would have stayed in the class and most likely passed.

If you are a student who needs class structure choose another prof. Kauf gives no due dates on any assgn. I took his class in summer school and he assg 2 RP+2-3 typed essays -in 5 wks. and we did free writing EVERYDAY. Yea he talks ALOT, but just show up to class, participate, write ur papers and you will get an A. He cares and wants us to succeed.

Pro. Kaufman is the epitome of polite and hardworking.His teaching style is excellent. He checks our rough drafts to make corrections and the reason for this is that he wants his students to correct the mistakes they made and get an A. I have just read the comments from 8/2011 and feel they are unwarranted and should be deleted. The "student" who wrote them was a yahoo who should never be allowed within 50 feet of a place of learning. He had a chip on his shoulder the size of his bulging stomach. I really enjoyed this proffessor. He doesnt give due dates so there is more time to work on assignments. He brings up interesting debates in class which I was able to use to help with a few of the assignments. This class is an easy A if you do your work and show up for class.

If you don't like professors who talk a lot, then this isn't the one for you. But I suggest giving it a try because it is so worth it. It's an easy A as long as you show up to class, do the work and hand it in. One of the best English professors I've ever had. P.S. I only had Professor Kaufman for the last 4 weeks of the semester because my original professor had a medical issue. I really liked Kaufman and he treated us well. He was very fair to us and gave us a research paper and was nice when I needed help.

Best english professor I've ever had. Took his Summer II class, the grade is basically responses for a few short stories we read, a few "personal" entries (only a page long each), and two major essays. The rest of the class is just conversation and dialogue on material pertaining to the class. Shout out from ur fav American University student :)

Very nice teacher, and loves to get along with everyone. My only negative thing to say is that he sometimes he goes all over the place, and is not necessarily clear about what assignments he wants done. I think having them all on a syllabus and being better organized would make all of the difference.

Had him for me 2017-18 Winterim session. While it was an intense session, it was one of the most critical for me. The reason being, I was really confused on which major to choose, and this professor managed to reaffirm a very important decision for me. You may or may not find him talkative, but you can really sense the passion in his teaching.

Prof. Kaufman is part of special group who is not a product of what was learned in school, but rather of what he taught himself along the way. i took this professor back all the way in 2014. still to this day i remember his class and just how much it helped shape me. take his class its worth it! hes not hard, he does give great feedback, very caring and easy to talk to. yeah he gives homework. it has no due date ( well end of classes is due date) this class teaches you to time manage :)

He was like a father figure to me, he and I talked sometimes after class about life and things like that. The type of person I'd describe him as is someone who's approachable and well-grounded, I ended up switching majors and I've never been happier since, wish I took his advice sooner. He does more for you than just pass the class, he's great.

I don't understand why any student would say these things about my professor. He is an excellent professor and treats everyone failure. Maybe the student was afraid he was failing. I don't know. Prof K is awesome. Take his class. The summer classes are tough because they are three credits and much writing is to be done.

There should be no negative comments about this professor. He is very reasonable and in my experience EASY. Its a summer class so you should expect a lot of work. Don't be LAZY. He doesn't get on your case about any work that is due. Before this class started I was nervous because I thought it would be so hard but the hardest part is waking up! Lol

Best professor I ever had! I took him in the winter for only 13 days and was quite overwhelming with having to write an essay everyday but it was really doable. All assignments were pretty fair and you mostly stated your own opinion. Just do your work and you'll get an A. His discussions in class are pretty interesting. Would highly recommend !!

Professor Kaufman is 75, wise, and calls himself an “armchair philosopher.” He goes on tangents but somehow ties it all together. He genuinely cares, pushes you to write with honesty, and class discussions are always meaningful. Easily one of the best professors I've had. Highly recommend!

Professor Kaufman is wise and lets us tap into our creative side. This has been my favorite class and professor. The content is relevant, and you can tell he truly cares about his students' success. Also, You can tell he puts a lot of effort into planning his lessons, and he always makes sure we understand the concepts before moving on.
