Overall, the course was quite easy. Final grade was determined by completion of a certain amount of research hours and a final, very short paper summarizing the experience. Lots of opportunities are given for completing hours, and I've met multiple RAs who've worked under Dr. Kim for years beyond the course. Definitely a good research opportunity!

I was an English Office RA! I loved the flexibility of Project SEED and how quickly everyone responds. Dr. Kim is also really accommodating, so don't be scared to ask to change your position or extend the time you need to finish your hours. Would highly recommend anyone trying to get some research experience!

Project SEED was my first research experience, which helped open doors for me. Dr. Kim made sure that I had the roles I wanted, also always prompt in answering texts and emails. There are experienced RAs who train and work with you and thus there is also a lot of independence. I would heavily recommend this course, underclassmen especially!

Dr. Kim is so kind to all her students. I really appreciate that she allows students with all kinds of research experience (and that could mean none) to work on the project. She allows doors to be opened for many other students. What I really loved about Dr. Kim is that she is so organized and on top of everything, so it made the research easier.

The class was very straight forward, but I personally had a hard time meeting Dr. Kim 1 on 1 (expect to primarily communicate through email and text). My only piece of advice to future students is take training seriously. There are important things you can miss and you will have to train incoming students once your time with the program is over.

As far as the practicum goes, it is good if you need research experience. It can get you into other research labs around UT. It's not really a long-term lab, I wouldn't recommend staying for more than a year.

Took up a lot of my time. You have to be available during weekends as well during odd hours, which is fine but also a major inconvenience sometimes. Course isn't structured too well for my liking. Loads of information given on my first day, and since then its been rather overwhelming. Not really my best pick as my first research experience.

She has favorites while treating other students like they don't exist until she needs them to do something for her. She doesn't try to get to know her students, especially those who want to get better involved. She scams students by luring them to commit to her research but there is no research to be legitimately, only a select few have real roles

She is incredibly two faced and sociopathic. She doesn't not care about enriching student's that she doesn't have some kind of unmerited liking towards. She is aloof, lacks empathy, and exploitative. 98% of students that work for her will get a one sided experience. She has no boundaries nor respect for her students.
