Suda is very likeable but I had a very difficult time following him. He skips a lot of steps and covers each concept very quickly. He requires almost no homework which is not a good thing so you have to be good about doing it on your own. Unfortunately, his style did not work with me.
Suda is very likeable but skips a lot of steps which leaves me very confused. I really struggle at math and this class made things even worse. He does not require attendance and also gives very little homework. For me, this is a recipe for failure. I am not happy with the class.
Suda is a good guy on many levels. But if you suck at math like me, he may not be the best candidate for an instructor. Advanced Math comes very easy to him. He wants to help, just has a hard time teaching us who struggle w/math. He did help us out in many ways when he realized we werent succeeding, dropping scores, extra time in the class etc.
Suda is a really nice guy and really cares if you pass the class or not. He doesn't take attendance. He doesn't give homework. We had 4 tests and there is not much feedback on where you stand in the class. He really knows math and feels like you should know it already. Not a good teacher.
All his lectures are based on the book. He doesn't deviate from the book, so every example that you go over is directly covered by the book. At first this is annoying, and I'm wondering why am I even going to class, when I could just read the book... then it hits me, he's teaching me how to read the book... Nothing to fancy, just read the book
Definitely not engaging. He talks with a really monotone voice. It's a little hard to stay awake. If you haven't read the next chapters beforehand you'll be really lost. He goes really fast. And this is coming from someone who likes to take half semester double speed classes. But if you ask he'll explain the topic further. Very clearly too.
Suda has a dry sense of humor and has made the class laugh many times. He's hard to understand sometimes but is pretty clear in explaining problems. He follows the textbook pretty much the whole class, so I learn more from the book on some things than I do in class. They do, however, coincide, the teacher and the book.
This teacher does not explain things well or in a logical way for first time 1010 students. He does not write out little steps that help you understand how to do the problems. He will not help you and always refers you to tutoring. I recommend you find a different teacher.
The text is a lot to go over in the allotted time. Prof. will answer questions if you ask, but doesnt have time to slow down for the sake of going slow. Exams consist of problems already worked in class or in homework, and are graded leniently. If you study, you should pass this class. Prof. works with you to pass the class if you put in effort.
Suda is the great prof. I love and enjoy entire semester in math 1080. If I would take this math again I would definitely go back to him. I strongly recommend to take class with him. No doubt you will certainly deserve A+ .
Suda is a good teacher. He is very fast paced, so be sure to stop him to ask questions. He didn't assign a whole lot of homework compared to other math classes ive taken. He teaches strait from the book and all the tests are examples or problems that have been gone over in class, strait out of the book.
He's a very understanding teacher, whenever you have any problems with your tests, just tell him, he'll consider about it. And also, his lectures are little hard to understand, so make sure that you ask him after class. You'll be fine with a positive attitude, easiest class i have ever had.
I was a little unsure of taking him at first but I'm lucky I stayed. His class time is filled with clarity and simplicity. He understands the material really well and helps you solve problems in a simple way. He is really patient when it comes to answering questions and helps every student in class. I highly recommend taking him.
I loved attending class with Suda. He teaches well and explains things thoroughly most of the time. And if he doesn't explain a problem all the way through, all you need to do is ask and he will show you every detail. He likes to encourage students to think.
He is an easy grader. If you put in effort for hw, even if you don't do every problem, he will give you 100% And his tests are based all from examples worked in class, so you will already have great practice. I do well with lectures straight from the book, and he is very much that way.
Suda is an awesome professor, especially when it comes to explaining when you don't understand something. You must show to class but it is not essential, must have a book unless otherwise. Grades fairly and really wants you to learn the subject rather than just give it to you. Would take it again!
There is a LOT of class material to cover. ADMIRABLY, This teacher covers it all and expects students to practice on their own. This seems to be the best way to learn the material. If you put in the work, you'll do great. If you don't put in the work, you'll still do good. This teacher grades work done, not correct answers. He speaks Great math.
Attendants are not grading, student doesn't have to go to class every day. He expects students do more practice on math. Don't have too much test. All questions on the test are pretty much showed on the class. If you follow his guide you should pass his class easily
Attendance is not required but highly recommended because test questions are taken directly from the examples he gives in class. He definitely wants you to succeed but expects you to work for it, as you should. Learn to play his game and you will excel in his courses.
Consistently late for class and doesn't give more time on tests when he is late
He makes a point of giving solid examples for all of the tests, especially the final. He wants you to do well, but he expects you to work in order to do well. He is a generous grader and is always looking out for you.
Suda wants you to succeed, but you have to struggle to understand the information presented. He is an incredibly fair grader on tests. He uses examples out of the book, however he will not always use methods the book uses. I wouldn't skip class. Tests are homework and example problems. I would take another class from him.
He explains things in a pretty straightforward way. He is helpful and will work through a problem with you, but sometimes he gets frustrated if you fall too far behind. Overall he was a very good professor. He is very specific about what is going to be on the exams and gives sample problems to help prepare you.
Explains things very straightforward. Covers the material quickly and will sometimes let class out early as long as there are no questions. Can be a little intimidating at first to ask questions to, but he makes it known he is there to help and answer any questions.
Suda is really great teacher, i had him I'm math 1080 and helped me a lot to pass the class.
A little difficult to understand at first but eventually he becomes a great teacher!
I would suggest always going to class he builds tests based on what you learn in the class. Then tells you the class before what you will be tested on so you can study. He grades fairly on the test. Any work helps your test grade. Do the homework for studying, the points are just for getting it done but it's great for getting the concepts.
Suda is a generous grader and will sometimes answer questions. He constantly encourages students to attend math lab if they are confused. Sometimes his explanations are not very clear. Read the textbook (many times if necessary) and ATTEND the "review days" so you know what to expect on test day. Study, stay on track, and you will do well!
Suda was a great math teacher, I felt like our class really appreciated him. EXTREMELY generous on test & project grades. I was at class 80% of the time because I got behind in the semester, but every time he taught something it stuck with me WAY better than learning from the book or online. Wish I had him for my Calc I class :/
clear lecture easy going easy to understand
This professor is okay. Every day is important though, and works off of information from the last day. So attendance is important.
Suda is a really nice guy, but I don't recommend taking this class if you struggle with math like myself. I feel like he expects you to know a lot of the material so he doesnt really spend too much time on it. He is very easy going and it's not hard to pass his class, but I didn't feel like I really learned much, maybe because it was a short class.
I had to go to tutoring every day after class!!!.
Tests are most of your grade but he is VERY lenient. Homework as long as you do it you'll get credit. Makes sure you know ALL upcoming dates. Does reviews, encourages math lab attendance and working in groups. Expects you to remember past material from past classes. 1 project. attendance not required, but you should attend to understand.
Here is a good professor who encourages you to succeed. He is always willing to answer any questions. We did not use MyMathLab which in my opinion was the right choice. Especially since the lab software has many flaws. We went off a book that had many great examples. He also does good exam reviews. He is very knowledgeable in math (teaches Calc).
He is very hard to understand and I struggled the entire semester. I am an A student and this is the first class that I will not be getting an A in. He grades his tests very hard and does not allow any extra credit. Grade is based on 4 tests, a final, and 2 group project. He does help by pointing out what kind of questions he is testing on.
I struggled in this class. There is a ton of homework so plan on spending atleast 2 hours every night on it. The test questions come from the homework and textbook samples so that was helpful. He also gives really great test reviews so make sure to ACTUALLY DO THEM or you wont pass the tests. The lectures are very boring and long.
The first thing he told us in class was to make a study group and that he expected us to spend 10+ hours studying the material. He uses slides from the textbook to teach the material and doesn't do many examples on the board. Lectures can be long and overwhelming.
Calc 2 is a very hard class and it is very difficult to explain many of the concepts. Suda did his best job teaching from the book but be prepared to reread the chapters. His tests are hard but he doesn't grade them harshly even if you don't know how to finish a problem write down what you do know or attempt it and he will give you decent credit.
Suda is a great professor. He knows how to teach concepts so that they are easy to learn. I've taken him for all of my math classes because I just love his teaching style. He's very laid back and will work with you so that you reach success.
He's a very good teacher, he is very good at explaining things you don't understand. But you HAVE TO let him know you don't understand. If he doesn't know (like most professors) he will keep on going. But he will say "Hey, if you don't get this let me know." He is a fantastic teacher and i hope i have the pleasure of taking another class from him
HE IS GOOD AND FLIEXBLE. I WORK OVER 60 HOURS A WEEK IN CONSTRUCTION STILL TOOK HIS COURSE.
Attend class and participate. You will learn key things in class to prepare you well for his exams. The material was difficult, but I passed. I believe the grading was done on a curve. Grading was fair and generous. You will need to utilize the tutor center and your study groups. Suda's accent is easily understood, makes you focus on his words.
Best thing he did for me was making me realize that I will have to study and know most of the material in order not just to pass, but to be able to move on successfully.
he is a great professor!!! 1050 was very easy, he offered a pretest before your exam and it is exactly what will be on the exam so you are not wasting your time!!! he is point forward, answers all your questions. attendance is not mandatory but recommended i mean your paying for the class... would take him again in a heart beat!!!!
Suda is awesome, just always solve his exams review and be sure to have an A
AMAZING LOVED THIS GUY
Suda isn't the best professor; when he lectures, he reads straight from a powerpoint of the book. Essentially it was like hearing read a boring story to us. The tests were our practice tests, so there was no challenge. If you are a math major, I would not recommend this professor.
I'm now taking my 3rd course with Suda, he is straightforward and easy to understand. As long as you can read and understand a math book you will do great. As with any class, tutoring is recommended. My advise DO THE HOMEWORK, DO THE PRACTICE TESTS and you will succeed.
Suda is an ok professor, but I learn best by having professors work through multiple problems from each section and that isn't Suda's teaching style. He mainly focuses on theory, and his lectures are virtually a PowerPoint version of each textbook section with limited example problems. If this is your learning style, great! If not, look elsewhere.
Suda is the man! I give him full credit for giving me confidence in math and taking all of the stress and surprise out of it. That being said, READ YOUR BOOK, GO TO TUTORING, DO THE PRACTICE MATERIAL. You definitely need to put in the work, its not like you can plug into the matrix.
I was working full-time and saw online that Suda was willing to work with people who weren't able to come to class all the time. He was very flexible working with my schedule, which allowed me to juggle my work and school work. Suda wants to help his students out and will work with you to help succeed in his class.
He doesn't dive particularly deep into the theory, but he does come at it from an excellent engineering perspective. Exams occur weeks after the material that they cover has been lectured on, and the exams tend to contain material that isn't covered in lecture or homework, but you are given sufficient direction to prep for them anyway. Enjoyable.
Professor Suda is the real professor! I would definitely take him again for my other math classes. He's really helpful and takes his time to explain everything. It is not an easy class, but if you keep up with your homework and follow the book, you will be fine. Make sure you guys go take advantage of the tutoring in the library.
Just took Diff. Eq. from Suda. The class was tough by nature of the subject matter. He however gave me every tool necessary to pass, granted, it is expected that you put in a good amount of effort to learn it. Read the chapter sections on your own before class because he teaches from the book. Great guy and great teacher.
I took two math 1050 classes in the past and struggled, but when I took it from Sudagar I liked this teaching style that makes students really easy to understand. He really focuses on the quality of education for his students and be available to assist with any course related problems. He is the very brilliant professor I have ever seen.
Suda is a great teacher. He is really caring and does his best to help students. He pushes students to work hard to learn the material. I really enjoyed his class and he is a great guy.
Suda is an excellent teacher and is extremely generous with grading. If you put forth an honest effort you will be rewarded. His main goal is help everyone understand the material. He gives practice tests before each exam. If you go over ALL of the practice tests and KEYS to the practice test you will be successful in the class.
Suda is a great teacher whose main goal is to ensure you understand the material. He is a fair grader and works with you to help your pass the course. I would take from him again.
Suda is the MAN! Through his method of teaching it better helped me get a grasp on how to read and understand the book. Grading is clear, do the homework and you'll get full credit, show the work on your tests and he will be generous. Put forth some effort and he will reward hard work.
He is a lecturer, not a teacher/instructor. Uses powerpoint Presentations that are directly from the publisher. I have access to that info already its called a textbook. After 4 hrs of lecture with him I dropped his course and took it from a different Prof. The white board is covered by the pull down screen for his powerpoint!
Suda does use powerpoint slides straight from the book during his lectures, each example is straight from those slides as well. But let me tell you, just do the homework and the practice exams and you will pass with flying colors.
Like others said: good man, knowledgeable teacher. Assigns easy participation quizzes during class, so attend class! No matter who your prof is these are difficult courses. Do the homework before class and do the practice exams! If you come in asking specific questions, Suda takes the time to explain things well. He appreciates class participation.
Suda is a caring professor that truly cares about his students. If you ever need anything you can reach out and he is more than willing to help you. Great teacher; wish there was more like him.
Awsome professor. He takes care of his student perfectly. I reccomend you to take with him math classes. He is easy in grading and tests. Great instructor.
Great teacher. Cares about your grades. Show up to class and participate and you will ace his courses.
Suda is a great teacher and I would definitely take another class from him. You need textbook for homework. Best way to prepare for exams is to review homework and practice problems and you will do fine. You will get good grade in his class if you put in the work.
I did not enjoy this class. His lectures consist of quickly working through the examples in the book and that's it. After 2 classes, I realized I could do just as well by doing all of the homework, using Khan Academy and going to the tutoring center when I needed it. Do not take this class unless you can teach yourself the concepts.
I've been in his class since Cal 2, and now I've finished my Cal 3. Probably take him, next class, if he's going to teach! Great Professor. *TIPS*: Should come to his class frequency to have the quizzes done so you can have full credits.
Awful. I learn nothing in his lectures. They consist of quickly showing pages of the book on the projector and vaguely explaining concepts. Constantly says we should already know things we don't. And then makes you do questions nobody knows how to do. There is so much information that is not explained and you are left staying up all night confused
Amazing Teacher! He teaches in a fashion that is knowledgeable to how concepts can apply to the engineering community and is very dedicated to the learning and self development of each individual student. He will go out of his way to insure that the students grasps the concept and will work diligently with students struggling in the class.
He teaches straight from the book. At first that bothered me but I found that not taking notes really helps me learn the material. He has you do a lot of the examples yourself so you know you're understanding it. He is not a tough grader and you know exactly what you'll be tested on. He'll also let you makeup tests if something comes up.
Great teacher.
I appreciate that the professor went right along with the Calculus 3 book. Many in class examples and got to the point. Take note that the class is slower and the intention is for everyone to go at the same pace.
Suda is a fantastic teacher. He takes the time to give you the help you need and is very fair when he grades. He is the teacher I needed to pass Calc 3. Calculus 3 in my opinion is not quite as difficult as Calc 2 but still requires a good honest effort to get through it. If what you need is a good teacher for Calc 3, look no further.
Suda wants you to do well and to learn the material. A generous grader; teaches from the book; exam problems are from class examples, homework, and practice tests. Do the homework and form a study group. Accepts makeup quizzes. Very caring and flexible. Responsive to emails. No games. The ideal professor for busy, responsible students.
This was my second time through Calculus III, professor Suda taught in a way that made sense to me. He stuck very closely to the book. He would always try to help when I approached him with questions. His tests except for the final consisted of a take home test and an in class test. This helped prepare me for the tests. Homework due at time of test
This professor has a different approach to teaching than others I've seen. I really appreciate that he doesn't make attendance super mandatory. Some of us have full time jobs and other family matters to attend, so it's certainly useful to have a professor understand that and lets you make up pop quizzes.
His tests were fair, and he gives out good practice exams that if you do them you will pass easily. The only downside was he teaches through slides. So it can be hard to grasp what the formulas mean, even though it can get you through the homework and tests. There are also exams semi-daily but they are easy and really there to pad your grade.
The professor is very smart and will do his best to answer any question you might have without revealing the answer immediately. He helps you to think, ponder and then do. His lectures are straight from the book but since the book is confusing it's critical to attend his lectures because he sheds much light and clears up confusion.
Very good. Be sure to sit up front though if you dont have perfect vision and hearing.
Suda is an understanding and caring teacher. He is a very fair grader and welcomes questions in class. If he's teaching a class you need, take it from him.
Suda is very clear and explains the math well. His explaining was very easy to follow and his grading is fair, I wish he gave more examples for certain problems. He stays after class to help out with the problems if you don't understand. Other than that I think he's great. Just a bunch of math h.w. and be prepared to be quizzed on after the chapter
Skip class and you'll miss the points from the random quizzes which are really free points for staying in class. He makes sure to show the important of the material from each section. He shares the real world application which i appreciate as a reminder why i'm taking this class.
"Lectures" by reading directly from the textbook. It's extremely boring, and offers no insight to his skill as an instructor. Abrasive when answering questions. Upside, he hands out 'A's like candy. Do the study guide he provides, as it IS the exam. If you want to KNOW math outside your book, look elsewhere. If you just want an A, he's your guy!
He's not very enthusiastic about the material, and just reads the book from the overhead, so the lectures are pretty boring. But he's nice, and makes getting a good grade pretty easy as long as you do the work. Study the take home test and you'll pass the exams with no problem. He won't blindside you with new material you haven't seen from the book
Hes lenient on grading and understands the difficulty Calculus III possesses. The subject is challenging but Mr. Suda allows for extra credit to make up for what you missed on the test. Not an easy A but an A is possible with effort and hard work. Great professor. Would take again. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended for pop quizzes.
Very talented and knowledgeable professor. Book is so expensive but required. His lectures are based on the text book. Lot of HWK from book and group projects. Clear grading criteria and fair grading. Weekly pop quizzes. Very good handouts, reviews and many practice exams will be provided before each exam. If you do all you can earn good grade.
The lectures were kind of boring, but he really knows his stuff and can answer your questions well.
Easy A
I highly recommend taking this teacher for any math class!
Suda gives good lectures with Powerpoint. He explains the main concept/idea of the subject. He is more than willing to answer any questions a student might have. He is professional and very respectful. Sudagar gives quizzes, but also helps you out with them. If you practice the sample test, you will pass the test. Show workpartial credit.
His lectures are long and heavy but useful. Tons of work including projects and Quizzes. Do not need to be brilliant to get A or B but work hard and hard to finish all the work and his practice exams. A or B is possible if you can find more time for his class. Other way around you can fail if your schedule is busy. Expect to spend 5 hrs/Week for HW
Very Easy Teacher. His Tests are very straight forward. If you put forth effort it is very easy to do well. He is very easy to work with. He will give quizzes on example problems in the book. He rewards those who show up and try and put forth effort.
I have taken Suda for Calc 2 and Calc 3, and he can make a challenging subject more enjoyable. Show up to all classes and do the work which is required of you to do. As long as you're responsible and strive to learn, Suda will work with you on understanding the material thoroughly and can demonstrate how it relates to real world engineering.
I just left the final exam and I feel very confident I did well. The homework for each chapter is due when you take the exam (plenty of time). He doesn't require attendance but every 2 or 3 classes there is an easy quiz he collects for 10 points. 3 midterms and the final were challenging but expected. Lectures were to the point, no tangents.
Lectures are based on the book but he goes in depth to explain where each thing came from. As well as he is open to questions and will let you work in groups if you don't understand something. A sold choice for a teacher.
He expects that you have to know your prerequisite very well. He assumes that students do not have any other work other than his class. Tons of work. If you are an engineering student then may be worth it. He always connect with engineering problems and make the subject hard. Fast phase lectures. He is not the right fit for any average student.
Suda is a nice guy but he kind of expects you to already know math. Sometimes when you asks questions he makes you feel stupid enough that you don't want to ask questions again. You have homework for every section. His test are similar to the practice test so make sure to study those and you will do fine.
Suda is one of the most helpful professors I've had, he's not condescending when you ask for help and he generally seems to care about students' success. He'll give out pop quizzes, that you'll be able to do using the textbook. There's also one group project. The course is straight-forward, I'd definitely choose him again.
Unable to decipher text book which didnt help you understand homework at all and when asked a question on where to find the question in the book, reply was that he wasnt going to do my homework for me. Very difficult to work with and gives you study guides for tests with no answer sheet. So you could write donkey and you wouldnt know if its wrong.
Maybe it was because it was a late night class but Suda wasn't very invested in my class. He teaches from the textbook almost verbatim which can often cause some confusion and frustration. I spent a lot of time teaching myself the material. Best advice, stay on top of HW, use the practice exams to study, and have access to a good tutor.
Amazing lectures, great professor, also gives practice quizzes to help refresh memory before exams.
Suda Is an amazing teacher that cares for his students, hands-down! He provides several extra credit opportunities to boost your score, he is ALWAYS available to help you. If you're expecting an easy class than you don't have the right mindset. You still have to work hard to learn difficult material, but he prepares you well for tests & grades fair
He is a professor with great Knowledge of Mathematics and Engineering, Engaging well,Good Motivator, Constantly Caring students. But lot of HWK and projects. Be ready to work at least 6 hours/week for the class. Lectures are based on the text book (book is very expensive), easy to follow. Easy quizzes ,harder exams but very good reviews !
This is my second time taking with Suda. He cares about his student. He helps as much as he can. Things are clear if you follow and do practice. With his lecture i used to do homework every week to keep myself updated with new chapters. I reccomend taking his class.
Nice guy! But he doesnt go over previous sections and isnt willing to. That was my only problem with him, very fair grader. Easy to pass if you put the effort in.
This class was very difficult. The course work was pretty hard but the professor made it hard to follow. 85 percent of our grade came from tests that was almost nothing like the homework we were given. I stopped going to classes and only came on test days. The lectures were hard to follow. He does not relate those who struggle at math
Suda was very kind and helpful. He seemed kind of tough at first by not explaining too much into the work and not doing too many practice problems. But, it was obvious that he trusted us enough to learn on our own. I greatly enjoyed his class. He truly is a class act. He was so patient with us and did explain whatever questions we had.
He's an okay professor but does not teach well. In the class, almost everyone was confused and could not follow his work. He does not show all his steps on the board and expects you to know what he is doing. There are no test retakes, and grading guidelines are too strict. He offered extra credit but it was useless. Homework was a lot.
Suda is a good professor who believes his students are capable of learning outside the classroom as well as in. Hes willing to help and answer all questions. The only downfall in my opinion is hes probably too smart to teach this class.
I had Suda for Trig. I previously took trig, and didn't do so well, so I needed to retake the class. Just reach out to him, and let him know you're serious about learning and will do what he asks of you to show that. He helped me out with my final grade because I made sure he knew I was serious about learning the material and passing the class.
Took him for 1060 online. The format was pretty easy and he was willing to help in anyway that he could. Tests were very similiar to the study guides. Lots of memorization for the formulas and unit circle.
I have taken cal2 and cal3 from him. Every time he exceeded my expectations. He is very generous in grading. Once you get used to his unique teaching style and do everything you are supposed to do it is really impossible to fail his class. There are group projects for every midterms but they are not hard. Attend every classes for the quizzes.
Prof Sudagar was a great teacher and was so helpful in class. I have never been any good at math but he made it much easier and would show you how to do it in multiple ways because everyone learns differently. He also would prepare you for each test by providing you with the previous year test and explain that practicing those will help you pass.
Do not take him at all. He does not teach. He tells you what to do, he does not teach you. My class was full when the semester started, now we have a total of 11 people. The whole class is so confused. He is just awful. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
His primary focus is on mastery of the concepts to help you pass your final exam. He does so by giving you reviews for exams. If you study the reviews you will do just fine in his class. The only thing that I didnt like about his class was his organization with chapters in the book. But, he grades his tests on a curve and doesnt grade HW harshly
Suda give's out projects and practices exams that are nothing like the homework what-so-ever! With practice exams, answers are provided but offer no help because the processes used to solve the problem and the answer provided do not match, let alone make any mathematical sense even when working with tutors.
Guys, he's a real kind professor, It's hard to find a good professor like him in the college environment, I hope you guys can take his class. If you have problems, he always tries to help you out! He's fair with everyone, as long as you show him that you work hard, he always tries to help you.
Suda is a great professor practicing modern learning. the main goal is to make feel comfortable with the material and there is a great way to get a good grade. I recommend attending each class with your book(mostly available online), read through the book why following the lecturer, do practice quizzes and finally do the practice exam. GOOD LUCK
DONT TAKE HIM!!! He doesnt teach much. Try your best to avoid taking him. Lots of homework to do on your own and figure out.
Just Dont take him. Its not worth your time.
He doesnt teach he just does problems on the board. I dont know why hes teaching. He needs to stay in the back where he doesnt mess up people education.
I'm currently taking an online math class so I've never met Professor Satcuna, but I've reached out to him concerning tests and homework questions and I have never received a response back. The only way to learn is through the worst math program (Aleks) which continues to frustrate me. Thanks for ruining my GPA Suda and getting paid to do nothing.
Calculus is hard, but Professor Satcunasingam gives you the resources you need to do well, you just have to put a lot of time and work in. His test were fair: everything the appeared on his tests was covered in the course. Be prepared to spend 2 to 3 hours on this class everday if you want a good grade.
Took online, for UVU. Class was done on the Aleks program, not the greatest. Test carry the most points, homework (which there is a TON of) only carries 15% of the grade. No extra credit. No communication. Does give study guides. Doesn't give points for showing work. Have to retake this class. Waste of money and time.
Suda is very intelligent and very nice. Hes just a better intellectual than a teacher. He gives out daily quizzes so, although not required, you need to be in class. This would be fine if his lectures were worthwhile, but he just reads the book. When concepts from old classes need refreshed he replies "you should know this." I taught myself Calc 3
He is a real kind of professor. He has clear grading criteria. This class has a lot of group projects. He focuses you to learn the materials. He just teaches only Math 2210 portion of any problem. He never wastes time on trivial algebra (simplifying steps) of the problem. He gives good exam review materials. Excellent Professor. Thank you
Took Calculus 3 through a web broadcast and that is definitely the worst way to take an advanced math class. Most of my learning came from alternate resources such as YouTube. I am almost upset my tuition goes to the college when 90% of my learning came from respected math instructors on YouTube.
Professor Suda will answer questions well but won't explain things explicitly while lecturing. Online class means a lot of work/responsibility is on the student, but Suda gave lots of chances to raise your grade. Quizzes are txtbook examples w/ solutions provided, hw is lengthy but easily done, exams are never surprising and extra credit is given.
Pandemic put the lectures on a broadcast powerpoint and this is the worst way to learn math. The prof recognized this though and graded accordingly. The prof did not recognize though the detriment that this has on taking notes so most of my learning came from third party sources (mostly YouTube).
Great lectures, clear concise and through. Lots of homework but it helps you learn and isn't overkill. Great at responding to emails.
Overall a great professor! If you do the work you will pass!
He is real kind of professor. Tips -1)Review your Algebra, Cal 1 and Cal 2 skills before taking this class. This course is just a one dimension extension of cal 1 and cal 2. 2)Follow his instructions. You will end up with a good grade.
Overall good professor. Do all your work , you will end up with a good grade.
Was a tough class in tough times. However, I worked hard, did everything the Prof assigned, and followed his advice he gave during lectures on how to do well on his class. I got an A. Tips: He follows the textbook. Read the lessons before class, you'll follow and understand his lectures well. Don't leave any questions blank on exams.
Not too hard of a class, and the professor will do what he can to help you through it.
Do the assignments and you will be fine.
I don't know if it was because of the language gap or the way he taught, but man did I hate this teacher and the class. I withdrew from the class because he didn't know how to teach Math and I just fell asleep because I didn't understand anything he was saying. I went ahead and took Math 1030 with Robert Thorn. He is definitely a better teacher.
Don't take him!!! I repeat don't take him, he just doesn't know how to teach. Most to the homework you have to figure out on your own, and you're basically just teaching yourself at that point. A teacher who doesn't teach isn't a teacher, and will ruin your learning and your GPA.
Suda is difficult. Yes, he gives you resources and tons of supplementary material to help understand the concepts. But his teaching style takes an aggressive, unnecessary, and ridiculous pace. He rarely, if ever, followed his own academic calendar We would take Exam 1 by the time he was finished "teaching" Exam 2 material. He explains nothing!!!
This teacher doesn't allow late credit on assignments that are submitted online and graded automatically. When I had some circumstances come up that prevented me from completing a few assignments, they didn't care. And the two assignments that the teacher grades by hand took over a month to grade. The only teacher, I have disliked with a passion.
Professor Suda is really nice and respectful, he will guide you on how to succeed in this class. As you are supposed to have a solid calculus background he will not review basic topics. If you do the homework and the projects you will be good to go. He also gives you preparation exams so you are ready for tests.
He was meh, but not horrible. Although the class lectures were frustrating at times since he did not give ample time to complete the examples, the homework and tests were not bad. He rushed through class at times and we would get out early, which is fine but I wish more time had been spent working over the examples since we had extra time.
Great math professor. Lectures are very long . Quizzes will be in every class and group projects must be completed . Exam questions are similar to practice exams but not easy exams. Weekly 8 to 10 hours should be spent to complete all the assignments. He should be a good choice if you really have enough time and want to learn all math.
Caring professor! He is there to help and gives feedback when you need help. Able to work with you and is a great teacher.
Awesome teacher who's very supportive and smart. The course material is somewhat difficult no matter what, but Suda seems to be understanding of that and doesn't overload with homework or put impossible expectations on his students. The exams are very similar to the practice material and there's no trick questions or anything.
professor Sudagar Satcunasingam was very tough but very helpful. I wish I would have tried more and pushed myself more.
Great professor. Exam questions come from homework and class assignments so you are not surprised. If you study and do your assignments you will do fine.
Straight forward class, clear on expectations , calc 3 is a hard course regardless but he made it simple
Professor Satcunasingam was an amazing professor. Calc 3 is a hard course, but he was always willing to take time to explain principles outside of class hours. The homework structure is also really helpful. He allows you to do them in groups which provides a built-in study group. I also felt he was a really fair grader who wanted to help students!
Do the homework and practice exam! If you do those, you will for sure pass. He's a nice grader and super lenient if you talk to him.
Textbook heavy with the course with broadcast lecture structure. Personal study time should be allocated outside of class and having a study group (I think) is necessary for the course based on the topics and material. Sudagar shows care with his students based on the grading and assigned test and assignments. Very qualified for higher math courses
Sudagar is a good professor that can answer questions and is accessible outside class time for questions. He is fair with grading. His grading rubric is simple and straightforward. Do the given assignments, ask questions, and read the textbook for to best pass this class.
Linear Algebra is already difficult, and taking it online even more so, Professor Satcunasingam did a good job conveying info but watch the 3blue1brown linear algebra series with it. His grading criteria is clear, and he is accessible for questions regarding course material through canvas and during class. Do all the assignments and you'll be fine.
Professor Satcunasingam is a very knowledgeable mathematics teacher that I would take again. His grading criteria is clear. Although the class (multivariable calculus) is naturally difficult and requires a decent amount of homework and textbook reading to learn the material thoroughly, Sudagar lectures clearly and is always open to questions.
Prof. Suda taught the first math class I understood and enjoyed! He was clear in his teaching and gave great resources to help understand concepts. Each concept had a video to watch that broke it down in case you needed extra help. He was also funny and pleasant during lectures.
Suda was awesome! Hes a great instructor and allowed us to laugh in class. He was also great at making sure we were well prepared for the exams.
I wish I had taken Suda up on his recommendations of multiple resources to contact if we were struggling. Although I did not take full advantage of those opportunities, Mr. Satcunasingam also allowed us to resubmit our second test if we were willing to correct the changes that needed to be made for a better score.
This professor worked harder at avoiding questions than it would have been to simply teach
I was not a fan of the way he taught at all. All he did was pull up pages from the textbook and write on top of everything. The way he taught his math was confusing and the reviews to the exams were horrible and had nothing to do with the exam. You pretty much teach yourself by watching the videos on canvas and he writes his own tests. (no notes)
Professor Suda is a phenomenal teacher. I 100% recommend his class! He has been one of my favorite Professors that I ever took a class from at SLCC! If you have the chance you should definitely take his class.
Really good teaching style, informative, you leave class really knowing the material.
Unique math class. You do group assignments every class and once per test. His lectures consist of him using a powerpoint of the book which isn't great and his tests are all worded very different from the homework which made them more difficult than they should've been. He's not the best math teacher I've had but definitely not the worst. Very nice
Suda is a great professor to take for this course. His lectures move fast, but he is always open to questions. Punctual, sticks to course schedule and returns assignments quickly. His tests are very difficult, but he is a lenient grader; stay ahead of the curve and you will do ok. In the end the rigorousness of his tests paid off learning-wise.
Make sure to show up to lectures and ask questions frequently if needed. Work on homework and group projects and the class will be much easier.
Difficult only class, but easy to communicate with the professor.
Always happy to answer questions, he was chill and easy going. Definitely lots of homework and had to do some independent research, but ultimately what I expected from a math class
So I took his online class. The way we learned things was straight from the University of Utah math department videos. He literally put ZERO input into the course. He would give us practice exams but not provide a key which made absolutely zero sense because how do we know if we are making mistakes or not ?? And he is a very tough grader on exams.
Suda was my Instructor for Trig and Calc I and will be my instructor for Calc II as well. He is very understanding and helpful when you have questions.
Great professor but lot of HWK and assignments. Many group projects and daily quizzes. Grading is very reasonable. Attend for each and every class and work in your group every week to succeed in the course. You will like the course if you're an engineering student.
Avoid if you can. Doesn't put forth effort to help or teach you, when asked for help he will direct you to the student center and will NOT answer your questions. He expects you to remember everything from previous classes and does not show any passion for the classes he teaches. Reads directly from the book and won't stop to clarify important points
Genuinely don't know how he has so many good ratings. As someone who loves math, I do not recommend. If you really have to take his class prepare to teach yourself or have the student center teach you.
Don't take him, if you need more info. Don't take him lol.
Professor Suda can be a good man, but he comes off as not caring, quick, and lazy sometimes. He will show you slide shows of the textbook and read verbatim. The examples given on the board can be very confusing and he refuses reiterate previous class materials and hopes "You should know this from a previous class". However the class is an easy A.
Chill
He reads slides verbatim, never shows example problems, doesn't review material, doesn't synthesize any material, assigns hw problems that don't exist in the text, doesn't proof-read exams, doesn't have any enthusiasm for teaching or math. Be prepared to teach yourself everything. Exam format doesn't match the assigned hw.
Be prepared to learn nothing and know that you have to teach yourself how to do math, or live a the tutoring center. He seems very put out to be teaching a remedial class. Reads lectures verbatim and dashes through them. If you ask him to explain in more detail, he says 'you should know that from a previous class' and refuses to explain further.
I thought the book and study guide were worthless. Attend the study sessions and youtube! Work load was a lot. I had a major injury a few weeks from the end of the semester and the professor was great. I ended up being in the hospital during the 3rd exam and he worked with me to make it up. He was very considerate with my situation.
This professor is great if you understand math on your own. The way his course was set up was good for an online class and I was able to learn well! There is a lot of homework but it's necessary. You have to take exams in person, but he was willing to let me move my exams around if I was out of town! I didn't use the textbook very often.
I had Suda as my MATH920 professor at slcc. Let's just say he is far from a good teacher. Even for lower level math classes like mine, he automatically expects you to know what to do. And if I had a question it would be ask people in your table group. I DO NOT RECCOMEND SUDA AT ALL AS A TEACHER. Unless you want to teach yourself.
All great. But many group projects and exams are long. Great for engineering students!
I loved Suda! He was fun in the class and always able and willing to help when needed!
Suda was a good professor. Throughout his lecture he asks the class if there are any questions. He does well with staying on topic and on schedule with his course. Suda is understanding, if the class struggles through an exam he compromises.
Mr. Suda was really cool and he wasn't strict at all. He did rush through lectures but made up for at the end of the semester because there was more time to study and do homework. Not a strict grader. I would take him again hands down.
the class was taught at a good pace !
A thing i didn't like was the exams weren't given back graded, you would need to ask for them and even then the answers that were wrong would have no comments on what was wrong with the answer. A thing i did like was that the final exams practice where very similar to the final. learn the unit circle and this class will be a breeze.
Sudagar was mostly absent from this class. You get the video lectures and textbook and do the homework and exams. Thats it. You won't get feedback on exams and will have to rely on yourself to figure everything out. Personally, I didn't mind this. It was an easy class, but I would hesitate to take more difficult classes online from this professor
He teaches using a whiteboard so pick a seat where you can clearly read what he writes down. He offers extra credit that applies to exams that you have taken and 2 group projects. He tends to speak quite fast but answers questions in class so speak up if you are not understanding. I definitely recommend studying with friends in this class.
He often mumbled and did not explain things very thoroughly, at all. Very frustrating.
Good professor
Professor Suda He's such a fantastic teacher. I love the way he explains things and makes the subject so interesting. He really knows how to engage the class and make learning enjoyable. I'm so grateful to have him as my professor!
Suda was a very good teacher. He was always willing to help with anything needed and was also very forgiving when anything came up. I would gladly take him again. His tests weren't very difficult and we were always supplied with good material to study for each exam.
Material on tests was often similar to practice exam topics. Occasionally the test had some problems setup very differently than what had been practiced in homework and practice tests but Suda gave partial credit so it wasn't often a big hit to our grades and he was willing to work with us to improve our grade with extra credit opportunities.
I took Suda for CLAC 3. He is a really good teacher. He made his class easy. I did not have to stress about his class at all. he prepares you well for the exams, and a easy grader. He is really helpful outside of class. If you want to make a hard math class easy and reduce your stress then take Suda. I highly recommend.
He explains things really well, he makes sure we understand the subjects, he makes sure get exams done, and wants us to participate as groups. He makes math fun and easy for me.
This was hard math but Suda made this class easier. He rounded my final grade for me and wasnt a picky grader on tests. All of the homework was online so we didnt have to come to class but he made it worth it! 10/10 would recommend
I feel like Suda did a great job teaching. I took Calculus 2 and Multivariable Calculus from him. He teaches with power points taken from the book. He usually forms groups of students to do group work together in class. This group work counts toward participation and usually involves doing a few of the examples from the book as he teaches.
Mathematics is always hard, but Sudagar does a great job at explaining the fundamentals needed to pass the class. If you show up, you will more than likely pass with a good grade. If you are taking Math 1050, be prepared for lots of studying outside of the class. Overall, he is a very good professor and is very understanding. I would take again.
Suda is a nice guy who wants you to do well, but his lessons are very confusing. He teaches from the textbook and goes through lessons very fast, and you will end up teaching yourself during the homework. For tests he is an easy grader and grants partial credit even if you get the final answer wrong.
Suda was awesome, he cares for his students and provides insightful feedback! This class was tough but he lead it well.
Second time taking math 1050 and got him as a professor, in comparison to my first time he was the best really understanding and a genuine good teacher. Leaves homework open wich is amazing to help study. Would reccomend.
Professor Suda really cares about his students. He is very understanding when it comes to grading and wants his students to learn. He gives a study guide for every exam, so make sure you do them. midterms and the final are heavily graded, so you gotta do well on those! He gets back to you within 24 hours. I highly recommend him for 1050 at the U!
I took Suda for CALC 3. He is a great professor. He made mass easy, he prepares you well for exams. He is a easy grade, very accessible outside of class, gives good feedback. He made so I did not have to stress about math at all. Its really easy to get an A if you put in the work. I highly recommend Suda.
Suda is a great math professor. He understands the material very well and explains it to you and will help guide you to understand it. I have taken Calc 2 & 3 from Suda and have nothing but praise for him. He takes difficult subjects and makes them understandable. He is a fair grader and gives partial credit if he sees you understand the problems.
Suda's a great professor. He may come off as intimidating, but he's actually the nicest guy and genuinely cares about his students. The module reviews were really helpful for preparing for the exams, so make sure you do those and don't dare skip them. Calculus can be hard, the most important thing is to make sure you do all the homework.
I took Math 920 with Professor Suda and it was an awful introduction into college math. Suda speaks as if he is whispering, you can barely hear him even in the front row. He answers questions but gives no feedback, I felt as if I was teaching myself the whole semester. He won't give excused absences and is almost 10 minutes late to every class.
While taking this class expect to be in class or you'll get behind on the idea of whats expected for tests. Majority of the midterms are based on the past sample test, except the final. If you finish all the homework before the tests and do sample test with it you'll do good.
Suda is a really nice professor and wants you to pass his class which was helpful. Throughout the course it was mostly up to you on how much of the material you learned. Lots of Youtube videos and reading the textbook. Lectures were rushed. Class ended way early. But he is a nice guy. If you do okay learning on your own you will do fine.
Calculus 1 with professor Suda is a breeze if you attend all the classes and do the homework before the next class. If not, it is easy to fall behind because the class is extremely fast paced. The midterms are similar to the review worksheets that are provided under the canvas modules so I definitely recommend using those to study.
Professor Suda is great; the class has clear and straightforward criteria. We discuss the lesson, take notes, and then you work on the homework and prepare for exams. Attendance is very important. In my opinion, it is easy to get behind if you are not keeping up with the homework and lectures. However, Suda is very understanding and helps out.
Not a bad professor but you will have to do a lot of self teaching. Attendance was not mandatory. He explains things and answers questions in a confusing manner, but if you have strong math knowledge then you can understand it. I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone who dislikes math or struggles with math.
Suda is a great math professor who makes difficult subjects understandable. The class has a fair workload, and Suda is helpful and accessible. I found unstuckstudy AI and the free textbook very useful for study prep.
He works with students to create a good learning environment.
Professor Satcunasingam did an amazing job at teaching math 1030. This is the first time I have taken a math class and have felt confident in what I was doing. Although it was online I felt that the course was made in a way where I could actually learn. I would definitely take this class with professor Satcunasingam again.
He did great with preparing you for the tests. He makes sure you aware of what will be on the test. He goes into detail with each module. He was easy to get ahold of outside of class as well.
He does a good job of letting the students come to an understanding instead of just feeding all of the answers.
I've always struggled with math and wasn't confident in my ability to pass this course . The professor provides study guides that helped me pass my exams . Over all would recommend this course if you struggle with math like me.
Suda is a cool guy. He gets you through the class and is very laid back. He works to improve and help students reach passages to greater comprehension.
Suda is a great teacher who keeps it real and helps you stay on track to prepare for exams. He grades tests quickly, which I appreciated. However, since this was my second time taking the class, I already knew what would be on the exams, and he occasionally moved ahead, which was a bit frustrating for me.
He was a good professor and very fair when grading. The classes were a bit long but he did good at teaching the material
He was an executional teacher who taught the students in a good way. I enjoyed my time in his math class, and I felt i knew what I was doing. Additionally, he would also grade tests fast.
Suda is a solid professor. He's good at explaining things when we get stuck and easy to reach outside of class for homework or quiz questions. He's a fair grader and his exams match the difficulty of the homework and quizzes
The assignments don't have due dates which makes keeping up with them very difficult on canvas.
Easy going and very helpful.
He was usually late but only by a few minutes. The class was really easy. There are a lot of tests, but the professor went through and told you exactly what you needed to know for each one. He was very helpful.
Professor Suda teaches by the book and goes through lectures fast but that is the nature of calc 3. He explains the examples from the book very well. He also gives extra credit and does exam corrections for points back. I would take the class with him again.
Has a lot of helpful practice exams
This is a tough course but Suda is understanding and will work with you. He wants you to succeed not fail.
he is hard to understand and slow to grade. I had to do a lot of self teaching. Luckily 1030 is pretty easy. He answers questions and does seem to care that you do well but again, he was hard to understand.
I had to retake trigonometry for Fall Semester of 2024 and Suda is an excellent teacher! He ensured that my accommodation test was sent to the testing center. And he really cares about my progress in class and I recommend taking his class, especially when you must retake trigonometry.
I have not enjoyed any math classes previously, Suda and the way the content was presented made it very easy to understand and work through. Classes are not mandatory but very helpful since not many students attend. Overall a good class!
Offered extra credit if we reviewed him on this cite. His lectures follow the book with no deviations, "you should aready know this" is his catch phrase. Inconsistant expectations, every test was curved up diffrently, and will give full particpation points even if you never show up, easy grade hard to learn the material.
This is the second class I took with this profesor, he has been very nice and good teaching
Suda was a difficult prof. to figure out. He expects people to know the basics of trig and review the material a bit before and a lot after(like college should be)Suda was not a good teacher for people who want the prof. to "hold their hand" just do the homework and pay attention you can get an A, it just takes time. Suda knows math, good for review
Very consistent and reachable, good schedule
He didn't prepare any lecture material himself. His lectures were just flipping through the textbook PowerPoint. He also wouldn't answer questions and sent you back to talk to your peers. I learned primarily from online videos and reading the textbook on my own time. The one positive was he graded quite generously and allowed test corrections.
He was not very responsive to emails and when he did respond he never really explained much. He is very hands off and will not be taking him again.
Very poor course. I took MATH 1220 online, and while the lectures and homework went well, I was surprised on every test with unfamiliar questions and even some material I never had learned. There was a big lack of communication and study materials for the tests beyond a mod review assignment for each mod.
He's a good professor and, if it weren't for him being so lenient on the assignment due dates, I would've gotten a much worse grade. He seems to understand the material very well, and when I was able to attend class/focus on the material, I was able to understand what he was teaching well. It might help that I naturally like math.
The Homework is a bit tough but if you do them and keep up with the pace, the tests will be easy to understand.
Suda was a great teacher. He is kind and willing to help out where he can. That being said it is important to actually put in the work and you should have no issues at all. He tells you expectations and that is what needs to be done and you will do fine
At a Calculus 3 level, I think students should already know how to learn math at this point. Being shown the general concept, then practicing homework is really the only way to do well in math, and Suda helps with that. Exams are heavy, but he provides many practice exams which help prepare you. He writes examples neatly and slowly for note taking.
Suda is a great teacher. He focuses on if you understand the material not just on correct answers. This makes it so you can focus on what's really happening in the class as opposed to stressing over every little problem
I can't attest to Suda as a person due to his presence being non existent in the course I took. There was no feedback given and the course was messy. The exams were spaced out variably and there was no information on when the next one would be until the week of. The tests and major projects had irrelevant or repeating questions, as if made by AI.
This course was never going to be easy by any means. However, it was made exponentially more difficult by new concepts being "taught" by a quick slideshow of 1-2 examples, without any reasoning, process, application, or definition. "You should know this now" shouldn't follow a concept introduced through example only. I would avoid if possible.
Avoid at all costs. Suda doesn't explain anything and refuses to answer student questions. It 100% feels like he is only there to read off his powerpoint and clock out. You *will* end up having to teach yourself everything in his class. In some cases that can be a good thing - math is not one of those cases. Biggest waste of my time by far.
For the online course he has it set up with two different teachers pre-made videos. One of the teachers in the videos is really good and explains everything clearly. The second one doesn't. My big thing was my grade looked bad in the class until the last day where he curves everything. So, it looks like he grades hard, but he doesn't.
Professor Suda is a fair grader. Clear about the problems that will be on the exam. Do your homework. Show up to class. You will pass the class just fine.
I loved having professor suda! He is a very chill harder, very fair. It's clear what is expected of you on exams. He's always willing to help, but his practice exams are very good and I would recommend doing all three parts as it's great practice. Overall if I could I would take every single class ever from professor suda, truly the best!
Differential Equations is a hard a class and requires lots of time and previous knowledge of Calculus. Suda was clear on which problems/topics that would be on the exam, which helped us focus on the important subjects.
Pros - Suda was very willing to help when needed, and he offers a lot of resources to learn the material. Cons - The canvas homework was sometimes different from the lecture problems. He also doesn't offer feedback on tests, which is frustrating. You only get a grade, you don't see what you missed.
I'm really glad I had professor Satcunasingam for my Math 1030 this summer semester! The course was very interesting with clear instructions, each lesson included very detailed videos that made learning even easier. Also, the discussions were my favorite part, I've learned some useful strategies for real life situations. Thank you Professor!
This class is hard but Suda was willing to answer your questions about the homework and exam. He wants his students to do well. He provided good example problems.
Professor Satcunasingam was awesome. If you actually utilize all the tools he provides in each lesson, you will have a grade above average. I look forward to taking more classes taught by him!
I took the online trig class with Suda. Overvalls the class wasn't terrible but the exams were tough. Suda was always fast to email me back and was on top of grading.
I took the online class. Suda always graded and answered questions/emails promptly. I would recommend taking any of their classes.
Professor Suda taught me very well this term, and I feel truly happy to have learned such a hard course material. I would 100% take this class again.
I liked that Professor Satcunasingam gave me time and freedom to do things at my own pace. He was responsive anytime I messaged him as well
Responded decently fast whenever I messaged him and he wasn't strict about due dates which I really appreciated
I will give Professor Satcunasingam credit, he was willing to take on our class when our other professor mysteriously disappeared. His teaching style did not align with my learning style whatsoever, but I can see how others might like it. If you take him, I highly recommend learning the material before it is covered in lecture.
I felt great about my grasp of the material! However, it's worth noting he doesn't generally offer ADA accommodations, and missing classes can impact your grade. To maintain your points, I highly encourage attending every class. His thorough explanations can be very useful, although at times they might feel a bit excessive.
