Best teacher in the world!
Not only a great professor but a great guy!
He is the best teacher ever. First of all he can explain anything to you. He is the nicest professor ever<==really. And he is very understanding when it comes to missing tests.

excellent professor!!
Great guy....speaks perfect english and is very helpful....great guy to take for calculus III.
choudhury rox. hes probably the best calc teacher ive ever had. if you can grab his class get it. -EH
Dr.Choudhury is one of the Greatest Professor ever.
Awesome teacher - great guy
Great teacher, always makes sure everyone understands even the hardest concepts. Always willing to help outside of class. Tests aren't easy, but if you study you can get a good grade.
Amazing teacher. He cares so much about his students (asks every morning how we're all doing) and he works so hard to make sure everyone understands!

Excellent Professor. He cares very much on the progress of each individual student in his class. He alots a lot of time in class to go through HW you're having trouble with. Tests are exactly what he tells you and very straight forward. A PLUS!
Super nice guy. Going to class was pointless b/c the only examples he did were right from book. He confused my b/c he was confused sometimes himself. Multiple choice tests. Very generous with partial credit. I got an A so I guess I shouldn't complain.
great teacher who really cares. is honest and fair with grading...if you are willing to put in some effort you should have no problems in this class
Excellent professor. Easy to understand, really cares about his students. Firm believer in partial credit.
Excellent calculus teacher. Explains things in detail and makes sure you understand it. Examples come from the text, but that's not a big deal. Test/quizes are very fair and doable if you've done the homework. All around great teacher! Recommended!
The best teacher in the whole department, you will not find a college professor who cares more about his students than him. Extremely understanding and supportive, always willing to compromise and help, teaches you easier methods than the book, etc. Could not recommend more!
Fantastic Teacher! I would recommend him for any class!
Very nice guy but that doesnt cut it when it comes to grades! Sometimes puts the hardest questions and proofs never seen before in exams. Only 2 exams, 3 quizzes and a Comprehensive final- not much to work with; only good thing is that he may under-weight ur lowest exam grade to help you out.
One of the best teachers UCF has. You have to do all the HW in order to pass & then do it over again. 3 Quizzes, 2 Test, & a Comp. Final. Fair grader and will compromise with student for test dates. Easy to talk to & very helpful. First test and quiz problems came from the homework questions.
Relates well with students, slows down to make sure to catch up any stragglers.
Speaks very clearly, lots of examples, really good notes. In order to do well on exams, cramming won't work- you need to keep up with the (tons) of homework. Allows students to ask about HW problems, which was nice. Really good during office hours, and no attendance policy. A+++!
Excellent teacher! Answers hw questions and constantly makes sure everyone understands work. Allows students to pick test and quiz dates and makes questions really easy- usually exact same problems that are covered in class.
This guy is amazing! He gives lots of examples and makes things easy for you to learn...gives 'recipes' as steps to solve a problem :) AND he speaks clear English! Tests are pretty easy, just do lots of problems (assigned and not) from the book. He also allowed a 'formula sheet' for the test. No reason you shouldn't pass. Helpful during office hrs.
The class is slow and boring, kind of cool material but the textbook is horrible - so many mistakes, uses not standard notation, and few examples to help you pass. Teacher is amazing, but way too cautious and repetitive. Easy class if you can learn on your own.
Really good lectures.
Best professor I've had so far at UCF! Nicest, and most laid back guy in the world... Perfect accent... Really cares about his students... Goes over everything in class and will not move on until everybody understands... 3 quizzes, 2 tests, semi-comp. final... test ?'s are EXACTLY like the homework. If you do the work, it should be an easy A!
There are no better math professors out there. It is easily worth rearranging your schedule to take his classes. Got 100% on all his tests by going to class, doing homeowork, and NOT studying for the exams. His lectures are so clear I'm convinced he could teach anybody calculus. He also allows formula sheets during the tests! Take him!
excellent instructor. teaches exactly what you need to know, and in a very comprehensive manner. do not get any other calc iii teacher.
This guy made Calc3 be the Easiest math class ever!! Very nice guy, very caring and helpful. Easy test + formula sheet! I mean this is as easy as it gets! and you will learn...not as much as a hard professor, but you will learn without the pain of failing.
The Best teacher I had so far in UCF, explain anything in detail, make evereything easy to understand, I really learn a lots stuff from this class compare to other CAL classes, really nice guy, and tests are easy if you do your HWs he assigned, recommend A++, if you need to take CAL3 and you saw his name, don't hesitate to register for it.
I had to repeat calc one and he is making calc two a breeze, I am already signed up for his calc three class, I really look forward to having him agian. I strongly reccomend this professor if you want to really understand Calculus!
Before I signed up for Calc II, all i heard it was that it was statistically the number one dropped out/failed course in UCF. I actually went out of my way to make sure it was my ONLY class on tu/th. Dr. Choudhury made it into a bread and butter course. Even though i got a 55 in Calc I my first time taking it, I now have a 97 in Calc II.
BEWARE, TERRIBLE TEACHER! Gives mountains of HMWK. VERY condescending when you ask any questions. Homework and tests are hardly related. Tests consist of 6 incredibly hard problems (accounts for 25% of final grade). Will not deviate from syllabus, regardless if the WHOLE CLASS FAILS A TEST.
Stay away. You want nothing to do with this teacher.
I do not recommend taking this teacher. Tests have 6 questions some of which come from nowhere. Won't give a curve even when the class average on a test is a 50%!!! If you have a question on an "easy" problem he makes you feel stupid. I got an A in calc 2, but this class I am hoping for a C.
One of the best math professors I've had at UCF. His lectures are very clear and he goes out of his way to make sure that what he writes on the board is very readable, even to students sitting in the back of the class. Tests were very straightforward without any unnecessary tricks that some other professors I've had felt they needed to add.
This guy is supposed to be great for Calc, but he has spent so much time teaching grad level DE's he has forgotten how to teach the basics. His tests are tricky, so know the material. Spend time with the tutors if you want to understand the material, because this teacher over complicates everything. An A is possible if you work your butt off.
He wasnt very easy but he was still the best prof in the whole ****ed up dept!
He's boring, but he really does care if you learn. His tests aren't hard, either. Get in the habit of attending a semi-boring class, though.
Excellent. Genuinely nice guy. Very kind and very helpful. Speaks very clearly, and teaches well. Highly recommend.
Wonderful teacher!! Everyone else who posted bad comments must be total idiots and really f'n lazy... Dr. Choudhury is a fantastic professor, explains everything wonderfully, and really cares for his students. So if you think that his class is hard, DO YOUR HOMEWORK (you idiot).
Absolutely one of my favorite teachers. He's not going to give you an A just for sitting in his class, you have to work, but REALLY puts in extreme effort to get the material and concepts across to students clearly and effectively. He has also been teaching for quite a long time, so he knows what works and what doesnt work when presenting material.
Dr Choudhury is very pleasant and explain things very well. If you go there to chat/flirt then you'll do horrible. You must pay attn. Only 3 tests though, but quizzes help you make a good grade. Recommended.
Nicest teacher.Quizzes and tests straight from homework with an occasional proof thrown in on a test which hurt a lot of grades on the first test. However, you can make a formula sheet so put important proofs there. Just do the homework, understand it so that u can do same prob with diff #'s again later, and you'll be completely fine in this class.
Awesome teacher, goes to extremes to help each student understand the material. Makes calc simple by setting up step by step directions for solving each problem, then lets you use a formula sheet on each test. Do the homework, take notes in class, and you will get an A no problem! My favorite teacher at UCF!
Took him for calc III and linear algebra by far the best prof in the math dept.
Wow! What a refreshing professor from the arrogant one's I've suffered through in the past. He is so gentle and sweet, yet does not tolerate anyone's crap. Strongly recommend him, very fair and generous grader. If he sees you know what you're doing but fudge something up, he'll give good partial credit. Very smart, too!
I'm not sure if I learned how to cook or do math, but honestly no funny business was involved. Recipes, recipes, and lots of curry. On a test make sure to solve the whole shebang by standing on your heads, do a little song and dance, and use several arrows in your arsenal to open the can of worms. Take him on faith! He's a great teacher, not tester.
I wasn't as impressed with Dr. Choudhury as I expected to be. He he was excellent at presenting theory, but for a heavily technical class like Differential Equations, he didn't do a great job with examples. He's a very nice guy and willing is to help, but he gives bad tests. One particular exam was completely unfair, but he refused to adjust it.
For a distinguished applied mathematician, Dr. Choudhury's strength was theory and proof. He explained the concepts of Linear Algebra remarkably well and made difficult proofs seem intuitive. His tests were far too easy, though, and won't prepare math majors for proof-based classes. If you're taking 3106, find someone else. Otherwise, he's great.
Dr. Choudhury is one of the best math professors at UCF. He's extremely clear when he lectures and genuinely cares about his students. He stops lecture at least 3-4 times per hour to make sure everyone is understanding.
A great professor! Only had him for the first half of calc 3 and tests were close to homework and class examples and we were allowed to use formula sheet / any notes we wanted to put on. Repeats himself to make sure no one is lost. Very nice and wants everyone to pass. No tricks, surprise!
Dr. Choudhury is a gem. He is extremely kind and genuinely interested in your own interest in the content and your learning. He will assist you in any way. His good-natured demeanor doesn't mean he'll let you get away with not meeting the basic requirements for the course, you need to put in the effort. Fascinating class.
Great professor! Clear and cares for your understanding. Take him if you get the chance to!!!
He's a great instructor, and the course was full of interesting content. The homework -is- the exam for that material, and he's very clear about what he expects on the final. You'll become a better, more cultured student of mathematics if you take his course.
Dr. Roy explains everything super thoroughly, and, by the end, I think I had a great understanding of calculus. His grading criteria is super stressful though. 2 questions per quiz and 4 per test can be very intimidating, and his grading can sometime be questionable (but probably better than most other profs). He doesn't have much of an accent!
Love this guy! Loved coming to his class. He has so much energy and passion for his material. I hope to take him again.
Amazing calculus professor. His tests are VERY fair, solely based on assigned HW problems. He is very passionate about math and wants to see his students succeed. He emphasizes everything you need to know to pass the class. I'm no math genius but I got a 100 on the first test. He lets you use a formula sheet. I hope to take another class with him.
I can honestly say Dr. C has prepared me for my future courses. Calc 3 was no picnic but he did not make it unnecessarily hard. Clear grading criteria & gives you practice probs from the book that will be covered in exams. Super understanding & even more so kind. It truly shows how much the UCF math dept has improved. I would def take him again
Pretty good professor. Will help you when needed and explains clearly what will be tested on.
Dr. C is very passionate and excited about Calculus. He makes the class interesting and relevant. I only had him for half of Summer C, but he is a fair grader and his tests are based on examples done in class and problems from the homework. Would highly recommend taking him for Calc 3!
Really great if you cant understand accents
Professional in what he is doing. Passionate about teaching this class, making lectures easy to listen to and follow. Homework and attendance are not mandatory, but tests and quizzes are right out of homework. An easy and fun class if you pay attention.
He generally cares about all of his students. While he doesn't technically grade attendance, his lectures are extremely good, and he is not afraid to deviate from the textbook method if he feels it is taught poorly. The whole class is graded from quizzes and tests, but the quizzes are super easy, almost exactly copied and pasted from the homework.
Good guy, just alright lectures. Old school homework straight from the textbook. The quizzes were easy, copied straight from the hw. The exams were straightforward, with one or two occasional proof questions. If you do the homework, you will be fine. He also let you use cheat sheets of the exams and final.
Dr. Choudhury clearly enjoys calculus and is very good at explaining class concepts. However, his class is an absolute mess. His homework is a random set of problems from the book. His tests happen on set dates, but he never covers enough material, so you never have a clear picture of what's coming. His class is still very easy, though.
Dr. Choudhury gives great lectures. It is all done on the board, without the aid of slides or a textbook. He explains things very clearly and is easy to follow. My criticism towards him is that the class is structured horrifically. He did not follow the syllabus and is generally unclear about some expectations. Might be because of COVID though.
Prof Choudhury is super sweet and caring and spends the first like half hour of class answer questions and constantly checks into make sure no one has fallen behind. He assigns homework from the book and doesn't give answers but you can find the Slader. The quizzes and tests match the content of the homework. Pay attention and it's an easy A!
Despite being online, Dr. Choudhury made this class engaging and interesting. The material is difficult but his lectures allow the student to grasp the concepts while also having fun doing so. He is an immensely kind and fair grader so I highly recommend him if you want to take a fun and interesting math course with numerous applications.
Dr. Choudhury was an alright math professor. He cares a lot about students succeeding, and puts effort into making the material interesting. With that being said, his lectures are straight from the book. His expectations were sometimes unclear, and he wasn't super efficient with lectures. The class was a very easy A because his grading is generous.
He's a great calculus teacher. Fair grader. Very approachable with clear explanations. Some of the concepts in the class are hard, but he does a good job warning you ahead of time and walks you through it and will go over it again when asked. In my class, if you had an A before the final exam, you didn't have to take it.
This class not well motivated. You are just memorizing rules for how tensors work with no intuition for it. If you hope if you get to the end youll finally be able to solve some cool math problems, nope. We took our first test 2 months into the class and theres so much material youve learned but only 3 questions. So if you dont know 1 thing, D.
Online class for the most part but in person exams (during covid). The class was more computational than proof based. The professor doesn't really dive too much into the theory, so as long as you do the computational hw problems you should be able to pass fairly easily. Cheat sheets allowed during tests.
This was a fairly straight forward and simple course. There is a lot of homework, but none of it is graded. You should still do it, in regards to practice. The majority of your grade is from 3 tests, of which is graded quite fairly. Lectures are somewhat helpful, but not completely necessary if you have access to the textbook.
Dr. Choudhury did an excellent job. The TA graded everything and he was very clear about what would be on the test. An excellent professor and one well worthy of his profession. Thank you Dr. Choudhury!
Completely online class with 2 quizzes, 2 exams, and the final. Even though homework isn't a grade, make sure to complete them because exams are very similar to the problems he suggests. Very caring and kind professor! Formula sheets are allowed only for exams and the final. I would definitely recommend him for this course!
Awesome professor with a true understanding of math. There were 3 quizzes (weigh 15% total) and 2 midterms (25% each) and one cumulative final (35 %). Hw was optional. The quizzes and exams were graded very leniently, so simply knowing the core concepts of different kinds of problems will get you far. Do the hw and you will do well.
Our entire grade was 16 questions. Homework was not graded but "highly recommended". He showed up LATE TO EVERY CLASS, and proceed to rush through answering questions so he could stay "on schedule" with the syllabus, never fully answering anything. Could've learned more from reading the textbook, since all he does it read DIRECTLY from it. Awful.
Attend every lecture, he genuinely cares and wants you to understand the material, not just pass. Take the HW seriously and bring him your questions, he will answer in class. HW isn't graded, class consists of 3 one question quizzes and 3 tests of only a few questions each. Allows cheat-sheets on tests. Very few grades, so take the tests seriously.
The only thing that made this class difficult was the fact that the grade was based on a total of 15 questions. Each quiz is worth 5% and they are a single question (3 quizzes in total) and the exams were 4 questions (3 exams in total). However, if you do the HW questions and take decent notes, you should pass. I want to take Dif Eq. 2 with him!
Class isn't difficult at all. Just some things to consider: 1) He's a slow grader. 2) He's kinda condescending. 3) He doesn't post lecture slides/notes 4) he's a little hard of hearing. if you're good at studying on your own just look up YT vids cuz attendance is pointless.
First lecture he tried to make it seem like he was really approachable and not to be afraid to ask questions, but by the third lecture he was condescending towards students who were asking questions and trying to learn. Gave one free attendance skip a week but had no interest in our success, just liked to hear himself talk.
Took him last Spring and had to withdraw because I missed a few questions out of the 20 that made up our entire grade. Despite studying for hours before each test/quiz, he always found some niche question towards the end of the chapters to throw in that I wouldn't get. Very condescending too.
Condescending professor that spends the first week making promises and fails to deliver. Poor lectures and wasn't even aware of the special modality of the course, nor did he cater to it properly. Used four different textbooks with very little structure. 11 weeks int the course, grade has been based on 8 questions. No motivation for topics taught.
2 tests, 4 quizzes, and a final determine your entiregrade. HW isnt checked on pape(but sometimes its carbon copies of quiz questions) VERY BIPOLAR, tries to act nice/laid back at the start but explodes when u go to his office hours to ask questions saying you're "wasting his time" or when u ask an in-class question about the material.
Homework isn't graded but you'll wish it was when you discover that your entire grade is based on 16 questions. Very condescending when you try to ask questions in class. Only reason I managed to do decently well in this class is due to prior calculus experience. Would not recommend.
Talks to you like you're stupid if you ask any questions, often goes on tangents during class, always late to class, examples were so overly complicated they were almost impossible to follow, to the point that I felt like I understood the topics LESS than I did when I took Calc 1 in high school. Whole grade is determined by 12 questions.
Our entire grade is dependent on 16 test questions we do in the semester. Addtionally, he nitpicks our test responses, and takes points off for things he says won't matter on the test. He tends to overcomplicate the teaching of a topic during lectures, using much of our class time to elaborate on something he tells us to forget afterwards.
Your entire grade is based off roughly 16 test questions. Homework involves working through textbook problems. The professor while nice, likes to ramble during lectures and confuse the topic. If you have already taken Calc 1 and are confident in your skills, this class will be fairly easy, as the tests are not hard if you know what you are doing.
