Best psychology professor this school has. She is so easy to get along with and once she covers something in class that is all that will be on the test, she will not ask you to read extra stuff.

She does go over all the work in class but...she cover so much dat wen the test comes up ..u just cant remember everything .HEres some hints: study 3 weeks in advance., Take NOTES ...u'll be screwed if u dont !!!

Key to this class...TAKE NOTES. This is the kind of class you want to buy a tape recoder for. As long as you take notes exactly as she says, the tests are a breeze. An A can be accomplished simply by looking over your notes. Screw the text book. She might not be the perkiest person in the world but honestly who gives a crap, its college not pre-K.

Ms Austin is the most misunderstood professor at York College. Austin quality as a professor is what York needs. She is fair, what she ask of you is exactly reason why one makes the choice to earn a college degree. Professor Austin is a GREAT person. Before I took her class I was very skeptical, especially after reading all the negative reviews about her. I'm glad I decided to take her class. She is very knowledgeable on the subject and makes the class very interesting. She is fair and explains the material carefully.I would recommend her to any student.

If you are serious about college and want a professor who maintains command of her class, take Prof Austin. She expects a certain level of adult behavior and means what she says. It will be hard for giddy-headed, lazy students to be a distraction to others in her class. No texting unless u r waiting for an organ transplant. No bull - she means it.

You have to take notes, exams questions come straight from your notes. Most of her tests are open book and you most likely will have one take home. She is very sarcastic & funny. She takes attendance everyday and has a late policy. She does NOT communicate through email or blackboard.

Let me just say that I'm currently a graduate student and 14 years later I still remember Dr. Sue Austin and I still have the Understanding Psychology 5th Ed. text book. This professor is not only an excellent professor, she motivates you in the field of psychology. Her teaching of Psychology made it clear that I too wanted to be a Professor!

Her lectures are interesting. I can never find myself dosing off. make sure to read the textbook, come to class on time, and pay attention while taking notes. there's no homework, and writing assignments in class closed book. I came here on an e-permit and I do NOT regret it! She is AMAZING. Very tough cookie but she is hilarious. Her lectures are very relevant. No power-point. No phones. I didn't mind at all. It always surprises me when people get less than an A in Dr. Austin's class. I loved both her classes psy 102 and 214. I wish I had her again psy 338. She is just fantastic, sweet and overall the best lecture professor I had. She tells you what she wants to get an A. She is beyond fair but you have to give your time for this class. RECOMMEND

Every absence after the first results in a loss of 2 point off of your final grade. She stresses reading but most of the questions are from her lecture. No powerpoint. Take this class if you're ready to truly learn. Dr. Austin is very strict when it comes to coming on time,using phones in class, and the readings. Do the readings the chapters are long but worth it. And she can tell whether you read the chapter, if students don't read she will give pop quizzes, The lectures are great as a result you will be focused

Going into this course I was quite nervous because people warned me about how strict Dr. Austin was. She makes you obviously work for your grade. But she pushes you to do your best! 4 exams and she drops one. Each exam is 30% and 10% is for pop quizzes. You HAVE to read!! Her exams are very fair and I would 100% recommend her.

She's honestly the best. She's pretty strict and will call you out for being late. She doesn't allow phone use during class and is very note heavy. Just follow her rules, do her readings and take good notes then you'll be fine.
