I HAD HER FOR MICRO & MACRO AND SHE WAS VERY HARD. SHE MAKES THE CLASS REALLY BORING.
Difficult Class
she is so sweet
Test unusually hard.
She is one of the best I have had
take the smaller classes, not the big lecture classes b/c it's easier to talk to the teacher if you have any questions or comments
Bery helpful outside of class. Class isn't easy but atleast she's not as boring as some of the other economics teachers... ughh ...zzzz....
This class is not hard at all, she is very clear in her explanations, and the class is fairly interesting...she said she now focuses more on issues in economics, so maybe thats where the discrepancies are coming from...not a bad class at all!
micro is boring, but bartlett is very clear on material. very easy to fall asleep in class.
Basic economics doesn't have to be this dry...she is very sweet, but the lectures are a little boring.
Micro - perhaps the most boring class I've had in my college carreer. Lectures are extremely dry and examples seem to lack real world applicability. Her tests are a pain especially considering how hard it is to pay attention. Econ could be so much bett
Great concern for students
This teacher is not helpul and is very boring.
her tests are very hard, class gets boring.
Very very Helpful, good notes,Excellent Teaching,Makes your concepts crystal clear and very practical in her teacheing. Teaches Micro through basic and day to day examples. Very Knowledgable and respectful.
Great professor! Even though I don't like economics, she's very cool. It's a hard class but she's all right.
Nice Lady but, tests are very hard and she only has 4 tests and no curves and no homework so if you don't do well on the tests you are screwed.
44.7 percent of the class got an F on the first test....just a small indication of what type of professor she is...and she isnt giving a curve
This class is very difficult. She makes the tests especially hard, but will help you outside of class. Also this is a mass lecture w/ 500+ students in it.
Her class is ridiculous....She is so confusing, I used to love economics until Bartlett. Her test are ridiculous. The majority of the class failed the first couple of test. Economics with Bartlett is HORRIBLE.....AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!
Micro-tests are gard, most students failed the tests. Memorize the notes and do the practice problems, all of them. She is not much help in clarifing things, go to TAs, they help. Try to take another class if possible.
I ended dropping her class. She's very boring and the material is not interesting. Her tests are kinda hard and she doesn't really curve. I wouldn't take another class with her.
Class is not fun or interesting. She has hard tests. several are failing.
Alot of people failed her class. Its not as bad as you would think. If you use her TA's to study for her test you will be fine.
Barlett is possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. She is very confusing and uninformitive. He test are very difficult and she has no hw to make up for poor test scores. When 3/4's of the class is failing then something is obviously wrong!
I've never had a teacher that could explain something so complex and make it seem so easy. I can see how some might have a hard time, but I have no problem with her because I am a math major and never really think outside the box. Great person, easy notes.
She is a very boring teacher and the test are difficult.
Not as bad as everyone says. Pay attention and you'll do fine. I got an A.
If you go to class, do the homework, and pay attention... you will have an A or B. Slack off and you will get the grade you deserve. Concepts are made very simplistic, but only if you pay attention. Great Teacher. Very nice. Very helpful in and outside of class.
she wasnt horrible, just do the practice test and youll be ok, expect a B if you half ass the class. you dont even need the book just her notes
She goes specifically by the overhead. Her test questions are kinda tricky. Good Luck With This One.
Class was hard, and seemed like it went on forever but she was pretty easy. Study the practice tests and dont miss alot of class and you'll do fine. questions are worded very weird on the tests. study hard!!
Nice Woman, better than other professors in Econ. If you want to do well just go to class and study her notes.
Ok class, but the teacher is boring, class felt like it went forever. But if you want a good grade pay attention. You don't need the book, just listen to what she says and know the notes and you will be fine.
Class is not that hard if you study. She seems to really care about the students and how they are doing. As long as you read the class is pretty easy.
I definetly would say that she doesnt give any free grades. She is kinda tough and goes pretty fast with a lot of material to cover. Its not that bad as long as you actually go to all the lectures and study them. I did not even use the book nor did most. She seems to be nice and caring but eeeh i duno. Try and take a smaller class.
I made straight As in Macro & passed the AP exam in high school but BARELY managed a B in this class...She pretty much reads stright off her lecture notes..BORING...she's nice but she isn't very good at explainations at all...the plus but no minus grading scale was good but her TESTS SUCK
Sue is very nice and very helpful when you go to her office hours for help. Her tests are hard though for a basic econ course, which sort of sucks. I heard the other guy who teachers it is easier but who knows. It's a doable class, even for someone like me who isn't good at economics.
Don't take her, her class sucks! her exams are pretty hard, she makes you do online quizzes on Aplia,(every week) they are time consuming and her questions on the exam are not like the ones on aplia, so it is kinda pointless and more work
This class requires too much. i took macro and loved it, did very well without much work. i spent 9 hours studying for on of her tests and still got a 69. the homework she requires is time consuming and nothing like the tests. she horribly boring and annoyingly monotoned. i dropped it.
RUN WHILE U CAN! GET OUT NOW...by far the worst Micro teacher--find better..sucks.
horrible teacher. had to drop. class averages were low everytime--that should say something. got stuck with her when choosing class b/c it said "staff"--apparently got the worst professor 4 this class. last person said it right--"run!"
I don't understand why everyone hates this professor... this class was not easy but it is definitely do-able. If you study for the exams and put effort into the homework, you should not have a problem getting an A. The homework can help you a lot in the end... or hurt you a lot, be sure to do good Attend class. Don't buy the book. BEWARE OF EXAM 4.
She is awful, homwork will kill any one who is not all about it, I had 3A's on my test 1 78 and my homework grade brought me down to a C, what sucks is that I did it all! She grades using aplia for corectness on homwork. I know kids in the other micro class who get the test the class before while we have to study the book and notes. Stay away!
stay away! home work is not worth the time, coz it doesnt not relate to any of her test or even material... tests come from no where.... and notes are not that gr8 of help... i would say NO NO
First test we took, the whole class did horribly. After we got our tests back, she says "I figured you guys would do horrible". So make the damn test easier. I thought the class was horrible.
Come to class, listen while you take notes and the tests are cake, especially if you do the practice tests. No need to buy the book. She is very nice and enthusiastic about economics.
she tried to teach a 1000 level course as if it were a grad course-- utterly ridiculous
Does not require showing up but her notes are very VERY HELPFULL test
If you show up to class and take notes the tests are not very hard at all. The book is completely unnecessary, her tests are really not too bad and a big chunk of the grade is homework... The homework is not bad either... if you need to get this class out of the way, then take her
She teaches the 1000 course like an upper level course. She does not require attendance, and you don't use the textbook at all. The tests are very hard but the homework isn't. She's nice and loves her subject, but the class is boring so don't take it in the morning!
She definitely tries to make this interesting, but as department head over Econ, I think she should be teaching classes like Macro. (I learned the most in the Macro section.) She doesn't use the book, buy the workbook & take the practice tests, they prepare you much better than her practice ones. Fairly approachable. Do the HW! An easy grade boost!
I would not recommend Barlett. She tends to preach from Aplia more than anything and likes to go off on tangents. When test time comes, about a quarter of the questions are from aplia. you have to read the book on your own and make sure you understand it well.
She makes this pre-requisite class seem like a graduate class, she does not follow the book, and the homework is nothing like the class notes. The only D I've gotten since I started college.
This was a really easy class if you just do all of the online homework and pay attention in class. There is plenty of extra help. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it definately helps, a lot. It was based on 4 grades best 3 of 4 exams and the online homework average.
I liked her she was very easy to understand.
Though Prof Bartlett is nice, her class is realyl hard to understand. I think she would be better suited if you were taking a higher lever econ class cause she assumes you know alot about econ before coming into the class. Not super hard but you have to come to class and study your ass off just to get a B. For a 1000 level course it's really hard.
I don't know why everyone says it is such a hard class! Bartlett is an engaging teacher. I cant be tired and half asleep and still retain what she is saying to me. As long as you have all the notes, you are good to go for the test. If you're gonna take econ, take her; she's great!
This is a pretty easy class if you go to class and pay attention. Many of my classmates were struggling but I think It was an easy A. Do not even buy the book you wont use it EVER. Just be sure to go to classes to complete the notes she gives you. If you Do the "old tests" that are on blackboard the exams will be peace of cake.
The people that fail her class do so because they don't attend the lectures. This was by far the easiest class I have taken. I learned so much, never studied, and got an A. She is very helpful and clear in her teaching. She wants her students to understand.
Despite the fact that this was an online course, she made it seem like we were still live. Eco is tricky but she personally helped me with all my homework and I got a good grade. She's available to help, just call her!
Online class, pretty boring, but I just HATE ECO. In person she seemed really nice. She send out weekly announcements to make sure we're on track, I found them helpful. Drops lowest test grade, homework's not too bad, make sure you do it because you won't get a good grade if you don't! Has "blooper" points that work in our favor!
can not teach.
Stay way, horrible!her class was boring. If you take her make sure you go to the TAs they are helpful on the Aplia HW. Do not take her online ECO class you will not learn anything and you will fall asleep. Good luck!
took this class for a grade forgiveness from UT. unknowingly signed up for the mass auditorium lecture class, a big portion of why i got a bad grade. uses LOTS of notes, probably 500 pages over the semester. she leaves parts of them blank, so you have to attend, or know someone who does. she had 3 ta's in that section, and they all (including the p
Umm no there are not even close to 500 pages of notes! Maybe half that and they are very spaced out and really the class is so straight forward. She is a nice teacher. You go to class, do some studying and get an A. Really I wish I had more classes like this one.
She is very clear and her notes are extremely good (I didn't buy the book and still got A's on all the tests). There are three tests and an optional final that replaces your lowest test grade... and weekly online assignments. She is not my adviser but I went to her with help concerning my classes and she was EXTREMELY helpful. Awesome person!
Take her class online, it is so much better than sitting through hours of boring class lectures. You print or buy the notes and watch the lectures online at your convenience. There are weekly hw assignments and 3 test with an optional final. Never used my book, A's on my tests, just watched the lectures and filled in the notes. Easy A class!
She is a very kind and dedicated professor. Economics (even ECO 1000) is not a blow-off class, but if you just put a bit of time into it you'll get a B or A. Her online lectures are pretty cool, and you can do them whenever you need to. The online homework is simple, and she has extra credit for the course. A very good professor.
Boring class but economics always is. She was helpful and very organized. She gives you all you need to know in class. I studied the notes, did the homework and got an easy "A". She is very nice.
Online class was very convenient, her video lectures were very well-put together. She is a very nice person as well. Exams aren't too hard, just do a bit of studying and you'll do fine. Generous grading scale. Definitely recommend.
Great professor! My 1st online class. I have a serious LD in math & got a B in her class... had to work for it, but it was worth it. She was very helpful ~ let me sit way in the back for tests. Online is the way to go w/this class; I can't imagine how boring it would be in person! Online lectures are easy to follow, the online homework isn't bad.
Most accommodating professor I've had. Took her online economics class. There's a weekly Aplia assignment and 3 tests. You can take the final to replace a bad test grade. She will work with you if you run into any problems. Very good at getting back to emails and communicating with the class. Lot's of energy and is very organized
Very nice prof and she teaches well. You have to buy the lecture notes from Pro-Copy, but they're only like $7 and it's so worth it to have them. The test questions come from the notes so you don't need the text. GO TO CLASS, so you can fill out the notes. I hate economics, but this class wasn't bad at all. If you go to class, you should do fine.
AHH! greatest adviser ever. if you are econ major, you'll come across her, and she is awesome. very very very helpful and she never let me leave disappointed.
Definitely take econ with her, and definitely try to take it online. She is a great teacher & explains things really well. Even if you have no idea about econ. Her voice is very soothing too! lol...if you do your part, you should do well!
The class isn't that hard but I took the class online which was harder for me because I learn better in the classroom. I am retaking her over in the summer hopefully I do better. The TA are available if you do it online but they are not all that helpful, confuses you more. Good Luck
She is a nice person. I took her class over the summer-a session (not the online class). I got an A in her class, but I found her tests to be really hard, even though I spent a lot of time studying. I didn't feel like her lectures prepared me for taking her exams. I wouldn't recommend taking her over the summer. Take her online class!
She is a really sweet person. And she is very much willing to help her students. But as nice and sweet and kind as she is, boy she sure does make her tests wicked hard. Do not let anyone fool you into thinking this is an easy class--it's not. You will have to work very hard to make an A. You can't just memorize, you must have a deep understanding.
She treats a 1000 course like a 3000 level course. you take the class online be prepared to take ur exams on campus.
Nicest lady ever, easy class if you follow her ProCopy notes, and practice her old quizes and your good! She will be more then willing to help you out!
Class wasn't that hard if you applied yourself. Material is really boring.
This class was definitely torturous for me this semester. The material is boring and the tests always seemed to trick me. Although, the professor is extremely nice and understand. She's very willing to help!
THIS CLASS SHOULD BE AN INTERESTING CLASS AND IT WAS NOT FOR ME. I THINK THIS IS BECAUSE I TOOK IT ONLINE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING IT ONLINE BECAUSE IF YOU THINK IT IS EASIER THINK AGAIN. I AM VERY HARD WORKING FOR GOOD GRADES, AND I BARELY GOT A B IN THIS CLASS. THE TESTS ARE VERY HARD AND THIS CLASS DOES NOT FEEL LIKE A 1000 LEVEL COURSE.
Super easy class (took online), she gives study guides & previous tests for practice & studying purposes. Fill in the notes with the lectures and you'll do fine. DON"T BUY THE BOOK I never used it and I got an A easily in the class.
Professor Bartlett is really nice but her tests are not! Be aware of the first exam, it will catch you off guard. Study her notes!!!! Not an easy A but a B is very manageable.
She knows what she is talking about and presents the material in a very easy step by step way, however she gives tricky tests and does not clarify enough in class what exactly will be on the exams. My Econ Lab does not help, it is better to get examples from the book of the questions and to make sure you know your graphs!
Easy class taken online. MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE LECTURES!! Easy to pass if you have reviewed the material. She is RIDICULOUSLY helpful when it comes to absolutely anything, she really wants you to do well.
By far the best class I've taken at USF. Class is interesting & Bartlett presents materials in a interesting way. She is knowledgable & extremely helpful. I took it online but I went to see her during office hours every week to check my hw. got a 100% in all. requires low amount of work but watch lectures. Exam is easy if u watch lectures & do prac
Really good teacher. Class is online. You don't need the book. Do the lectures and the homework, to make the exams easy. 3 exams and an optional final. 1 project (super fun and easy). Over all very easy class for an online class.
Professor Bartlett is a VERY nice lady, and she is willing meet with you after lecture! However, I am ending this class with a C- and I am typically an A student. I am not a business major but this class was the hardest class I've ever taken. 3 tests=90% myeconlab=10% optional final. The tests are EXTREMELY hard, study the lecture notes!!!
BEWARE! Bartlett is very nice lady, but her tests are very hard. Pay attention to her notes more than the textbook. I recommend taking the lecture for an easier grade than this class. The homework is difficult as well!
This class very hard I went too all the tutoring sessions and still could not pass she treats this class not like 1000 course her test extremely hard!
Taking it online is freakin' hard, I get no feedback after I do the problems on the homework on Aplia. Sure, there are presentations, but they're pretty hard to follow along. My friend took the class on campus and got an A or B I think. Bottom-line, DON'T TAKE ONLINE!!!!
Professor Bartlett is a great professor. She really cares about her students and is willing to help in any way she can. Attendance is very necessary because her notes are the key to her tests! She made this class very easy to understand and interesting.
Professor Bartlett is one of the best instructors that I have had. I took this online. Her lectures are given in power point style with a fill-in-the-blank study guide that can be purchased from ProCopy for about $8. All exam questions come from lecture. Watch the videos, fill in the blanks, study the notes, Get an easy A. Book is not necessary.
The class itself is easy enough, however the aplia assignments online in no way reflect what you will be tested on. All of the homework assignments deal with math and when you go in to take the first test there will be one or two math related questions the rest will be terminology. You need to watch the lectures, which can be up to an hour long.
Professor Bartlett is a good teacher who listens to her students when they need help. I took this class online so you do not need the textbook which will save you money (economics). The tests are very difficult and you will need to study more than just the applia and notes. The practice tests will help you a lot as will her TAs.
Great teacher! Online lectures are clear and easy to follow. Honestly, do the work, watch the lectures and if you can't help but do great.
Best professor I have had in USF. She is sweet, calm and helpful. She is always willing to help and her classes aren't boring. Definitely the best way to go!
Pay attention to lectures and you're set. Especially if you have taken an econ class in high school this class will be super easy. Her notes are helpful and clear, and the homework is a good indication of what is on her test. Take the practice tests that she posts online! Very similar to actual test
Took her for a basic econ class.... The exams are extremely hard, even though she gives a lot of prep for the exams, you don't really know what she is going to ask on it. Luckily, I passed with a C plus and the way I studied I deserved an A. Tough basic class. She's really nice though.
Her lectures are long, and sometimes her slow-paced voice and trivial examples will fill like you're wasting your time. If you miss a lecture, you're most likely not gonna get a good grade. But if you study all of the lectures thoroughly it won't be hard to get a nice grade. She's very clear in her lectures, that I'll give to her.
Notes are all online just have to go to class to fill in the blanks. Tests are tough low class averages. She gives you EVERYTHING you need to study even practice tests. Online homework from the text book. Only 3 tests and the final and she allows you to drop lowest score including final. Definitely have to put time into this before tests.
She is a good professor, but not very clear. She doesnt go off topic, but her classes are somewhat boring. She doesnt apply economics to examples of real lufe, just purely concepts. Not a super hard grader, but doesnt curve. NO need of textbook. GO to class or dont pass.
I'm in the ECO 1000 online class. Do not take her online as you will have to put more time into the lectures than a physical class. One modules lectures lasted almost 2 hours and it's nearly impossible to stay focused on her monotonous voice and irrelevant examples. Homework is easy enough and the tests aren't hard if you take practice tests.
This class was mandatory and I was expecting to dislike it but its really easy. It's all just common sense. Her lectures aren't mandatory but I suggest you go for notes. She's really nice and passionate about what she is teaching. Her tests are also based completely off of lecture so you know exactly what'll be on them, my lowest test grade was 93!
She has a total of 3 tests, all based on lecture. She gives you the notes and a tons of review before exam. The final is optional and can replace your lowesr test grade. 10/10 would take again. Easy A if you give effort or a solid B if you just play on your phone
I took the half-online class (lectures online, exams on-campus). Dr. Bartlett made economics understandable, but you definitely have to watch her lectures and fill out the notes she provides or you don't do well. And do the homework--you get 2 drops but I missed 3 and it significantly lowered my hw grade
She tells you right from the start you definitely DON'T need the textbook. Attendance isn't mandatory but she only posts about half the notes online and you fill in as you go in class. Class is very lecture heavy. 3 or 4 exams and an optional final. Online hw. I love this class. Professor Bartlett is so funny, sweet, intelligent, and reasonable.
Do not take this class unless you are prepared to go to a lot of tutoring. The tutoring center never had any tutors for this specific class so you'll have to get one on your own time. The homework is easy but the test are SO DIFFICULT!! I had an A average on HW but failed all of the tests.
She is very easy to get ahold of outside of class and responds to emails quickly. This is one of the hardest, if not hardest, class I have ever taken. This is required for me to graduate and it looks like I have to re-take it again. Her tests are very difficult and she likes to put trick answers on it; she said so herself. Otherwise, she is decent.
This class was easy but it did require effort. You don't need a textbook. Notes are provided with blanks so make sure you go to class so you can fill them in and pay attention during lectures, she explains really well. Prep for exams? Understand & go over the notes, homework & practice exams she provides. If you put in effort, you'll get an A.
Sue was a really nice professor who seem to be passionate about economics and explained the concepts clearly. I barely studied for exams, my fault, but the hw was easy as long as you go to the TA office hours you can get 100% on hw (which is weighted as an exam) got 2 -Cs on the exams, 90 on hw, and a 85 on the final, and still got a solid B.
I struggled, but I think that was just because it wasn't my thing and I could have studied more. She is very helpful and gives you all the info you need. She is a very caring person and super sweet.
Just watch the lectures and fill in the blanks in the notes she puts up online. The homework is kind of difficult but it helps prepare for the exams.
