boring, "quizzes" take longer than time given
best teacher I've had, vry clear and explains everything, willing to work with u
Good, not very exciting, but clear and willing to work with you.
Good lecturer, exams are comprehensive, adjusts to class well
does many problems for understanding. willing to work with u great teacher!
Great teacher, always willing to help!
A very time consuming class, but she is very willing to help you.
Always willing to help, Explaines everything, You will learn in this class..
tests are from hell, but quizes are not bad and she is very willing to help
good lectures. tuff azz tests, but gives you oppurtunities to get other points
Very good teacher. Explains everything well. Always willing to help.
Made finance not so hard! So helpful and willing to adjust pace for classes!
Extremely caring professor, final is like masturbating w/ a cheese grater
The tests are very difficult but other points are available to offset poor tests

If you take FIN, take her. Always willing to help out, very caring and understan
Quizes are tricky, Test are a pain, somehow managed to get a C, good prof though
a very good teacher, i would take her again if i could
Always willing to help and explains things very thoroughly.
Extremely good. Explain the things very clear. Very patient!
She goes over things so fast it is hard to understand, but she is nice.
super helpful! keep up with matiral and the tests won't eat you. great lady!
Decent as far as teaching goes, but quizzes and tests are a pain in the a$$!
Very good teacher. Test are hard but she grades generously.
Hard, but willing to help!!
She is a hard prof, but very helpful. One of the best Profs at GVSU!!
HARD!!! No use in studying for tests. But she crves your grade managed a C+
No multiple choice tests=generous partial credit. Wonderful at helping!
SHE'S GRRRREAT!!! Awesome teacher, wish I could take her for every class!!
Very nice and heplful, easy class
understands that the class is boring, explains things clearly, wants to make sure you do a good job, tries to pull out info that will is something you can use for the future, she's good for non-finance majors
Very helpful and understanding, explains things so you actually know what she's talking about. Really learn things that apply to life, she's great

Tests aren't too bad if you're well prepared. Gives partial credit for problems. Pretty good prof overall.
damn sexy. enough said
she sucks and no one should ever take her class...i hope she gets fired and has to live on the streets. gives us quizzes online the night before tests...no study guides at all...hard mc tests are immposible...sheould not teach
One of the best FIN profs! She explains things very well. Very helpful and nice. Hard quizzes.
Her multiple choice questions are ridiculously hard. She would be a good teacher if she actually tested the material that she presents in class, but she doesn't.
boring enough to make me leave halfway through class 4 times!!! Tests and homework are so hard you want to laugh or cry
One of the best Finance Profs at GVSU. Teaches what you need to know for quizzes and understands it can be boring.
She isn't bad in lecture, and is helpful, but her quizzes seem to be designed to trick you. You will need to put in the time outside of class. If you do you should be ok.
Quizzes are ridiculously hard, hard to pay attention to lectures. Easy to get lost in lecture. Not very responsive to emails. Not once do you get an update of your grade. Not a fan of this prof.
Doesn't return graded papers in a timely fashion, last day of class and she still hadn't returned assignments turned in the first week. Nice, and helpful with questions...will make you work very hard!
Best finance prof I've had. Class is very straight forward. She tells you what you need to know. Quizes are easy.
What a awful professor. Make sure to avoid this her. I wish someone on this site made note before. She never comes through on what she says. She makes you call her doctor. Her tests are unreasonable. Take Gondhalekar or Sundaram - very good profs.
Horrible teacher. Tests are impossible especially the conceptual ideas. Don't take her if you can avoid her! Her tests and quizzes are impossible!!!!!!!!!
The conceptual questions on test are extremely hard. Does not cover material asked on MC. Takes forever to return tests, makes up excuses why it took so long.
WORST PROF EVER!!! Never follows through with what she says she is going to do! Writes test to try to confuse you, rather than to test your knowledge! Hard to get ahold of and rather than helping, makes excuses! Considering talking to a dean about her!!
Wonderful professor! She will gladly meet you in her office if you need extra help. Just make an appointment with her. Very straight forward. What she writes on board will probably be on test. Yes, conceptual questions hard, even on quiz, but they do make you think.
Nice professor, wants her students to learn and understand material! Has not been the greatest professor with getting things out to students...but has also had a lot of personal issues to deal with!
Very hard class. You have tons of work and the tests are difficult. Its to bad shes the only 322 professor so you are basically screwed
Still waiting for her to post final project and exam grades on blackboard like she said she would in the middle of our exam!! Good Prof though...final curve must have been really generous!
She is very nice.. but her conceptual questions on the tests are only understood when you read the entire chapter.. expect to do lots of reading. Very nice curve at the end of the semester though.. cares about students. Nice lady, tough class... okay in end with curve
Prof presents material clearly, material is not easy, but if you can't understand this prof then you shouldn't be a FIN major, Listen in class, use the book only to double check your notes. Even got me an internship at Bank One after 422, Great prof... that is if you are at least semi-intelligent
First of all this isn't an easy class. But it's not the teacher that's the problem. She is extremely kind and goes slowly for you. If this class is required for you take it with her. She really wants to help you out in any way.
Good professor. Most exam questions are exactly like the homework problems. Cheat sheets on every test!
Edwards is the clearest whiteboard lecturer I've seen at GVSU. Her only problem is in getting information to students when she says she's going to. I've had Willey & Edwards (Finance Major)--and Edwards has what it takes to teach, hands down.
The ratings obviously are testimony to her teaching. Difficult material, but taught very clear and concise.
Take Gondhakler...
She is great at explaining a very confusing subject. I don't think it is that she is hard, but Finance in general is just really hard. She explains it best out of anyone, but it is still not easy. I reccommend Edwards--better than the rest!
She is awesome, actually takes the time to make sure everyone understands what is gone over. Test are not bad. Very approachable for any problem and is patient if at first you do not understand. Take her if at all possible.
Take her! Sometimes Finance becomes overwhelming, but she makes it simple and she knows how to teach. She has had a lot of real-world experience as well. She uses powerpoint, and that makes it so much more clear. Online Quizzes and Multiple Choice Tests... GREAT PROFESSOR!!
I simply cannot recommend this Professor. The course work was often poorly defined, poorly followed, and the class as a whole were left without any idea of what to expect.
hard as heck! doesnt explain things well. demands a TON! take someone else if you want something higher than a B-
Terrible Prof! Hard class, hard exams, hard quizes, pointless hw. I did all asgn. problems for each chapter and understood how to do them. Exams turned out to be totally different. Her reasoning states "Since one person out of the entire class got a 100% that proves this exam was do-able." Never mind the majority with F's and D's pre curve. AVOID!!
GREAT PROF! She knows how to teach! DO the homework and understand the quizzes the and the test will not be too hard. Make sure to study and understand the material and you will be fine. The final exam (except questions from new material) is word for word from old test and quizzes, so it is not anything to stress over (though still study)
Good prof cares about students. Fair to students and how she grades. Sometimes seems a little busy with life outside of class, but will make time for you if you have questions.
Very nice and knowledgeable professor who really cares about helping students learn. At times I was actually frustrated because she was moving too slow, but it's proof that she's fair and wants to help. As long as you go to class and do the homework you'll do fine on tests.
Overall, a pretty good professor. She went through homework during class and was over very helpful. If it wasn't a summer class and I had more ambition I would have done better. Again, overall a good professor.
Very helpful prof. She makes the content easier to understand. The course is difficult, but the prof is great.
The best FIN prof at Seidman. She is extremely helpful and cares a great deal about her students. Everything about the class is straightforward.
I really liked Prof Edwards. Very nice lady and makes material easy to understand. Homework is graded but really helps with the understanding of content. Weekly online quizzes arent too hard except toward the end of the semester. Definitely recommended especially considering the alternative profs.
Definitely one of the better professors at GVSU. She is very thorough in her lectures, is very clear on her expectations, and does not give any surprises on exams.
One of the best profs @ GVSU & the only reason I passed finance. Her notes are very easy to understand and she is always willing to help!
One of GV's best Finance professors! So nice and extremely helpful! Very clear on what she expect on tests, assignments, and the class overall. For a capstone class, I wouldn't recommend anyone else! Talk to her after class and participate here and there and you'll love her and she'll love you! Such a great person!
Tough concepts but she explains things very clearly. Two exams both require a decent amount of study time but you get a note card. Also, study the sample homework questions solutions she post online. Ms. Edwards was extremely helpful in answering questions. In my opinion she was the best finance prof at GV. Textbook not needed but fingame book is.
I wouldn't take her again. She is helpful enough during class time if you have questions, but she doesn't post grades or hand back homework so you have no idea how you're doing in the class. She also told me she would post project grades a few days before the final, then she said day of the final, then she said after the final. She never did.
Professor Edwards is definitely one of the better profs at GVSU. She's always willing to help and is extremely nice, especially if you visit her office hours. Exams are tough and are not multiple choice, but she is fair and gives a generous curve. The class is extremely straightforward, she gives no surprises at any time in the semester. Great prof
Dr. Edwards is a great professor, likely the best you're going to get for FIN320. Always show up to class to turn homework in, it helps your grade a lot--that & easy online quizzes. She kind of over-explains, which got confusing for me. I hate finance but she made it tolerable. Show up, pay attention, & go to tutoring. Be prepared to give your all.
Such a nice lady. Plus, she explains things very well and is very patient with her students. Going over things more than once doesn't bother her. Tests are no surprises: if you did all the homework and checked her solutions, you'll do just fine. Gives formula sheet for exams, too. Loved her.
Edwards is definitely smart and knows what she is talking about, but for FIN 320 that is sort of her downfall. She goes very fast through topics and thinks it should be easy to understand, but does not realize that the students are not grasping it fully. I understand there are only so many weeks, but she tends to go way too fast through material.
She literally makes it impossible to get a good grade. -3 exams. 1st & 2nd exams are over 4-5 chapters and the last one is cumulative. -Homework/learnsmart every week -The exams are so long that you can't even finish the exam. 10 multiple choice (5 points each) & 10 problems that you have to work out (10 points each). -She doesn't curve
2 tests + cumulative final. She modified the tests to 10 problems but they still take the full class time. Connect homework every week which got annoying because there were no hints/check your answer. If you put in the work though, its not hard to get high B low A. Dr. Edwards was so sweet and genuinely cared how her students did. Curved if needed.
One of the better profs I've had at GVSU. She explains everything thourghouly, which is great for a class like FIN320, and won't ever hesitate to go over things again and again until students understand. Tests are fair and gives a good curve. If you put in effort and work for it, you'll do fine with Edwards.
FIN 320 is a very challenging class overall, but Sue is a very caring professor who is very flexible with students and is genuinely interested in getting feedback and listening to students. She will always take the time to help you if you need it and if you go to class and pay attention to her lectures you will do just fine!
Great teacher, she only gives one check on connect homework, so you really need to know your stuff. Tests are also pretty tough. You don't need the book, just the connect code. You need a graphing calculator. You do a couple projects that are relatively straight forward. Its a fun class but she grades pretty hard.
Professor Edwards is AMAZING! She is super organized, very caring, and wants you to understand the material! She only gives you a few "checks" on your connect homework in order to stop students from attempting homework for hours! Her tests aren't easy, but if you study and attend class, you'll do great! She is very knowledgeable and approachable!
Pretty straight forward class, Prof. Edwards is knowledgeable and tries to make sure everyone understands the material. There's online homework almost every week that can be tough. There's an exam every 3-4 chapters and it's 6-7 problems; they're just like the stuff you do in class so if you pay attention, you should be able to do it no problem.
Professor Edwards is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. She teaches the material well and makes sure to post video solutions online of things we cover in class so you can go back and review. The tests are pretty clear cut and she prepares you fairly well for them. Overall great professor :)
She teaches the content very well and helps out with any questions. Only concern I have is that the final grade will not be what you expect. She doesn't make it clear how it's determined and the final points on blackboard do not reflect your grade at all. I went from an A on blackboard to a B on final grades in mybanner. Final grading is flawed.
Exams are extremely hard, does not give a study guide. Expected to know all of the HW, In class work, and the conceptual book information we don't discuss in class. First exam was curved over 40%, still blamed us students. Take someone else if possible unless you enjoy studying without direction! Are allowed 3x5 card, which is half the size needed.
Exams are extremely hard, does not give a study guide. Expected to learn it all in a short six-week class. I wouldn't recommend taking her unless its your last option. She's very smart, but in terms of getting the information across, she's definitely below par. First exam was curved 40% and she got mad at the class for not knowing the material!!
Professor Edwards does know what she's doing and teaches the concepts well. But sometimes the homework has problems on it that we didn't go over. Also, she's super stingy about how problems are written out and solved on exams.
Challenging course, but lectures were very clear and made understanding concepts a lot easier. Lots of homework and Prof is picky about how problems are solved on exams, so watch out for that.
Wow... just wow. Horrible class, seriously take anything else. Maybe even change your major. Grades absolutely nothing and makes the exams as hard as she possibly can. Seriously trust me do not take this class. Every single exam was curved at least 20-30 points and it barely helped. Hands down worst class structure and worst prof Ive ever had.
Prof Edwards is by far my favorite prof at GV. This class was excel heavy. As long as you followed along in class and wrote down notes, you'll do fine. The only downside to her is that she doesn't put homework grades in until the end of the semester. Other than that, I strongly recommend!
Sue is a great professor, she makes this class easy. Her tests can be difficult as she puts too many questions on it for the time she gives us. The worst part about her is the fact that she hasnt graded anything since January and we now have one week till finals so no one knows what their grades are. Very bad at staying on top of grades
Awful. Take someone else.
This class is just hard overall if you are not familiar with excel. The CIS classes do not prepare you for this class so if you have no other experience I can see why it is tough for some. Overall, good class and great professor. She does everything step by step. Always willing to answer questions and provides lots of info. Take if you can
Dr. Edwards is great. She's very smart and cares about students. She knew my name before we had ever formally met. She will help you understand finance so much better. There's a lot of work to the class, but if you go to the lectures she shows you how to do everything. She is also available to help outside of class. Highly recommend.
This class is challenging, but Sue supports her students as much as a professor can. She is fair and puts a lot of effort in. The way this class is structured is that every week you have excel labs and homework. Those two items may take 3-4 hours a week to complete. Sue will look at the grades and provide opportunities to curve where appropriate.
Best finance professor i've taken yet! Super understanding professor and truly cares for her students. Weekly lab and homework may seem challenging at first but definitely manageable. Two test and she goes over them with you in class. Wish I could take her for more classes
Sue is extremely sweet and caring for her students. She never talks to you in a demeaning manner as she realizes that this class is hard. Weekly homework and labs take a lot of time so prepare for them, but honestly, they are interesting and useful. Exams are harder, but doing your labs and homework prepares you for them. Sue is awesome. Taker her!
This class is very hard. Dr. Edwards is a very sweet and caring lady, this class is just unnecessarily complicated. There is a lab and a homework due each week, bot take a long time.. I think this class is way too excel based. You might find yourself just memorizing shortcuts and not actually understanding why you're doing something. Overall 7.5/10
I love Dr. Edwards! She is very knowledgeable and if you do all the homework and labs you will learn lot in this class. I went to office hours weekly and this helped me tremendously. This is not an easy class but it is rewarding and I would definitely take it with her!
Sue is an incredible professor. She has real world experience in what she is teaching and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to financial analysis. Show up, pay attention, and you will do just fine.
I really enjoyed Professor Edwards. She was super kind and always willing to help me with any questions I had on the homework or labs. The lectures are material heavy and will relate to the labs and homework, so keep up. We are allowed one 1-sided 8x11" cheat sheet for the exams. Copying ALL lab formulas onto it will help tremendously on exams.
Worst ever.... I mean worst EVER. Couldn't understand a single thing as she was in the way of the board, and I couldn't keep up. Expected us to remember 7 million formulas for an exam. Drop the class while you can. You don't stand a chance. Lectures are not one big interesting or engaging for the class. Almost fell asleep every time.
Brutal class to teach, excel heavy, but she does a nice job and makes the class simple.
Professor Edwards was awesome! The class itself is difficult and very excel heavy, but she will take the time to answer any questions you may have. Super patient and responds to many emails. She gives us practice exams to study and a full sheet of paper for exams. If I had to take this class again, I would choose her!
