Great professor. A lot of content, but only multiple choice question on homework and exam. Love the labs.

This class was challenging. My advice to people is to watch the lectures but focus more on what she's saying than what you are writing. The study questions are an amazing tool for studying. Early on in the semester I made the mistake of memorizing the questions and answers. Don't make that mistake.

Loved this class hated the lab though. Sue is great and her lectures are interesting and funny. This class can be a lot but just watch the lecture videos and do the study questions that's literally all I did. Dont buy the textbook you don't need it and again use the study questions and do all the extra credit its free easy points.

Sue is a great professor. The class on the other hand was pretty difficult. It is mainly just a lot of material you need to learn in a semester. However, the lab portion was ungodly horrific and hard for no reason. Plenty of time is given for exams. DO THE STUDY QUESTIONS! This will make or break your grade. Do ALL the extra credit as well.

Prepare to spend hours doing the study guide questions to prepare for your exams and quizzes. One annoying thing is you won't be able to see what you got wrong on your midterms. If you have questions, she'll respond and help but in a sassy way. Other than that, the class is not that bad.

Do not take this class if you do not have to take it. Take any other course, as the workload equals about eight credits. Many of the midterms are the three days before the lab quizzes. Overall, I do not recommend it, as the workload is ridiculous.

This class can be super easy if you do the study sets, and you get extra credit for doing them too. Lectures can be long, but she plays a lot of videos during them to break it up. Lab is super engaging and enjoyable if you like biology, and really helps boost your grade if you do well.

The lecture videos were very reasonable and hardly went off topic. I hardly read the book and have a great grade. Overall, amazing class, best professor I could have asked for. Just put in the time, do your notes and study questions (which you get extra credit for), show up to lab, and you will be just fine. Nothing bad to say about the class.

Dr. Gibson makes an already really easy course even easier by explaining things really clearly while including several interesting examples or videos. All the homework and exams are multiple choice and everything you need to know is in the slides she posts on Canvas. She provides plenty of resources for exams and even gives tips on getting research

Sue is a very nice/smart/funny person who really wants every student to succeed. There are so many extra credit options that greatly help for studying and there isn't that much homework. Tests can definitely be hard and there is a lot to memorize. The lab was also easy.

Took this course online, with in-person lab section. 100% recommend Gibson. Canvas page is very clean and organized, and is accessible outside class. Very memorization based class, as all midterms/final are multiple choice and class is formatted for students to pass easily, given a decent amount of effort.

Watch lectures and attend help sessions. DO ALL THE STUDY QUESTIONS AS YOU GO. You don't want to have to catch up on ALL of them later on for extra credit, but those 5 points are worth it. Do the study questions each like 15 times (it's a lot, but do it because there is A LOT of content to learn). Also, study like an exam for major lab quizzes.

Sue's BIOL 1009 was amazing. She had amazing lecture videos and made everything easy to understand. Plus she gave handouts for each topic that was a premade study guide and notes and she offered study questions that would give us extra credit points. It was such an easy class and she was so amazing!

Professor Gibson is an amazing professor and I cannot stress that enough. She is very clear with what is expected of her students and provides more than enough materials to help students succeed. I love how she creates her own study quizzes so that students can repeatedly answer study questions very similar to Quizlet.

I hated this class but its expected since this class is THE pre-req if you're thinking about health. Her lectures are boring as hell and the lab is annoying. If i were to do this class again i would've definitely started studying because thats really the key here. Half of her exams are just practice questions but UNDERSTAND the material!

Just put in some time, and it's really easy to succeed. Can be a bit strict, but she's trying. Would recommend her to everyone.

Sue is a nice professor, but her lectures are boring and hard to sit through. Your grade is mainly tests, and if you're not a great test taker like me, you won't get above a B in this test. Study questions are nice, but I wish her tests as a whole were more straightforward.

After going through everyone's ratings for this professor, my honest opinion for most of the negative ratings is that they just did not try hard enough for this class. WHAT COLLEGE CLASS GIVES YOU HALF OF THE EXAM QUESTIONS BEFOREHAND?!! If you procrastinate, you will not do well; if you do what she tells you to do for her class, you will succeed.

Sue is the best it's going to get for BIO 1009. The course was hard, in order to succeed, its important to not fall behind and do the study questions and lectures when they are assigned rather than falling behind. If you listen to what Sue says and take her advice, you will get an A. Bio is a dense topic so no matter what its going to be hard work

Study questions and videos are a must do to have a decent grade. Online office hours every week to answer questions. Lecture exams pretty much determine your entire grade, but lab assignments and quizzes can somewhat boost grades. Don't fall behind and try to be on, or ahead of schedule. Overall, she tries to make it easy for the student to succeed

The class averages for all the exams were like mid-high D's. The best advice I could give would be to do the study questions. 50% of the study questions will appear on exam. Lec's are BORING, I watched her online vids. You'll need to study A LOT. Try to stay ahead bc if not, it'll come back to bite you. The tests determine your grade! Lab was easy.

I try to avoid online classes, as you can see from my grade but Sue's online lectures where very well done, there's not a lot of homework, and she does practice quizzes which help A LOT for the tests. It's not a very hard class but I found myself struggling a bit on the tests, I think that was due to my procrastination though. I would recommend!
