She is not bad... Depends how you think... At least, I like her class.
Teaches with enthusiasm! Definitely recommend her if you want to learn and have fun and will put in some work.

She is nice but her class is hard.
If you really want to learn physics she is the one to take. But if you are just not intrested try someone else. It can be hard if you don't want to learn
Really good teacher, only problem is it's a little hard to understand her accent.
midterms slowly got really really hard, but final was surprisingly medium. ask q's, can make u feel real stupid, kinda mean cocky person all around. nice to u if ur smart..she knows her stuf tho, teaches very well too. is it worth it? only if u have t
She really teaches. If you want to learn, she is there to help you.
ONE MAIN THING... She thinks she is the best. SHE IS MEAN. DON't EVER ASK FOR ANY questions. She couldnt make u understnad a bit.SHE won't ans you because she has some horrible accent. Anyway she sucks.
She's a helpful teacher, but you'll have to work really hard to get even B. The only thing is that I can't really understand her accent most of the time which result in going back to the book and read again. Get another physics teacher if you can.
Somone would say she is mean or she is cocky. But i would GREATLY RECOMMAND her! She can explain anything very well, she is also willing to help you when you have any questions! She knows all the stuffs well! A GREAT TEACHER
If u are medium and u want to get A, never take her. Mean, Very Mean, questions will make u look like fool in class. * U need to bring pizza when ur cell phone rings, and u need to sing when u are late in lab
hard...
Cause she don’t placate every bozo who wants to pass physics, don’t mean she is a bad teacher. I liked her. If other teachers were like her the classrooms would be a better environment for the rest of us who want to learn.
test questions can be hard and pop quizzes can be brutal. not real approachable based on appearance and can be harsh if you mess up in lab.
good teacher, but hard
bs instructor just like newton...
Thick chinese accent, you sing if late to lab, you bring pizza if your cell goes off, exams have ambiguous MC (absolutely do not be a question lawyer!). Weekly HW quizzes are straight from HW, reading quizzes and EC quizzes pop up randomly. Very open to suggestion, one student can change policy.

It is waste of time attending lectures, since she goes off tangent on topics, sometimes discussing some stupid question a student asked for the whole hour. If that wasn't bad enough, her Chinese accent will confuse the hell out of you most of the time. Even if you liked physics before, taking with her may turn you away from physics for a long time.
Just because physics is hard and dumb people don't get it doesn't make her a bad teacher. She was always open with her time and help. People just need to study more! I found her very helpful and fun at times.
Not too bad teachr, but she is very demanding. Definitely you must work hard to get A. Also she seemed very disorganized about presentaion of material. Still I think that she is good at explaining concepts. Her accent is not that bad, at least if you know english you can easy understand her.
you ask a question in class she'll make you look like a dumbass. and she doesn't explain so well. her quizzes are right out of the book so you think the class is easy but she makes the exams crazy hard and by that time, it's too late to drop. too bad for those engineering majors who are stuck with her for every engineering classes.
everybody below is a liar.. she is one of the best instructors in foothill. very helpful.. very recommended!! because of her... i like engineering more..
Lol @ the comment from the person who took Physics 10 with her. I agree that Sue Wang is hard, but she cares about her student and wants everyone to succeed.
She is a decent teacher. She is a bit unclear sometimes because she gets tripped up by the English language. HW quizes are just hw probs with differnt numbers. Test questions unassigned book problems.
Worst Teacher Ever To teach Physics. 1) she gets lost in her notes and writes messy notes.2)Her exams are too long for a 60 minute class.3)She makes physics boring.4)unorganized when it comes to physics labs half of the class is lost. 4)makes you feel stupid when u ask her questions.5) worst teacher she will make you hate physics 4c
sucks...boring, exams are too long, her voice is annyoing, unorganized..yeah everything that the person said below me is true..haha
Professor Wang is an great instructor. I don't know whats with all the complaints about her accent, she is fine with her english. Some of her exams were not exactly on the easy side but that was a direct result of procrastination. She always gives enough examples and good advises on effective studying methods. Too bad she is retiring... =(
She cares a lot about her students. And there is nothing wrong with her accent, you can get use to it. I like how she always point out previous students' mistakes when she is going over examples so that we don't make the same mistake on the homework and exams.
She is not as bad as people make her out to be. Her exams are not too tough. I got B's on all of them. She does assign way too much homework though, and wasn't too clear on the project requirements. I'd take her again though.
This teacher is... god awful. I can't tell anything she's saying even though her accent is in my language! Even if you could understand her, you still wouldn't get much out of lectures. To top it all off, she goes off on tangents, trying to drag you into her boring life. take physics with anyone but her.
She makes coffee every morning for students! What else can I say about her?
Those people who keep complaining below really didn't do their jobs. She is one of the most knowledgeable professors in Foothill college. She really makes Physics 4C much lighter and more approachable than it actually is. Exams are long but not that difficult if you focus on her lectures. Very sweetttt! Highly recommend!
She is very fun person, always makes class intrsting and enjoyable, passionate about subject, easy going, flexible, not a lot of hmwk, lenient with grading as long as you DO the work, explains things clearly and tries to make it as simple as possible. I really enjoy her class! She is always available to help and loves when students ask questions.
pretty much what the poster below me said. accent was not a problem for me, and i only speak english.
hard to follow her in the class because of her accent! I think the book explains the material much more better! very boring class! you need to go to her class because she may give u a quiz and if u miss u would lose points! but honestly she grade the exams farily and at least 10% in each exam! easy homework quiz! but hard midterm!
She is the fairest Prof. I have ever had. She loves physics and has great enthusiasm for teaching. She keeps you busy with in-class quizzes, online quizzes and homework which in turn makes you understand better. Very helpful in lab, class and office hours. Very fair when it comes to grading tests. She wants you to get highest grade possible.
She loves teaching physics and it shows. Be prepared to work hard.
Shes very fair in terms of grading. Two midterms, 1 is dropped and gives practically free 10% xc each midterm/final. You can tell she likes to teach and tries very hard, even in the lab. Midterms are fairly easy but final/lab final is difficult. Funny at times and great personality. Recommend
PHYSICS IS JUST THE MOST INSANELY HARD CLASS I'VE EVER STUDIED! But that doesnt mean i should take it out on the teacher. i loves what she's teaching, and is intelligent. she's very reasonable, actually, and grades pretty decent. just slog your life off, and you'll atleast get a B in her class, even if u failed cascarano for 4A. she's easier than hi
a very reasonable professor. she lectures a lot, and her lectures are very helpful. her tests are on the difficult side but she only takes one midterm grade out of the two. a very helpful professor, will try very hard to help you understand the topics.
Make sure you study for both midterms. One is hard and the other one is easy. Her exams are hard. She not that great at explaining complex concepts.
She is a dreadful teacher. She cannot teach. In tha classroom she teaches nothing, then gives incomprehensible exams. Students who tried to learn physics honestly failed in her class. People who did not study and do not know physics did great. Guess, where did they get her exams ? Cheating was rampant. STAY AWAY FROM HER, IF YOU CAN !
She really does not teach. Does one example of each problem and expects you to have it perfect. Avoid if possible.
Wang is good teacher with lots of experience. You can see that she has been teaching for a while. Highly recommended
Good teacher and one of the best in physics department. Caring and explains stuffs very well. While taking exam, do not panic as the questions might might seem daunting, it will be similar to the tough assigned problems.
Very helpful. Lectures are clear enough that using the book isn't necessary. Only had two midterms so far that were very fair. You can understand EVERY word she says regardless of her accent. You do have to work a decent amount, but if you honestly try to understand the concepts and practice, you won't have to say, "OMG SHE IS SO HAAAAARD"
Her physics class was difficult, but only because of the material. She explains everything very well. Attending class is essential. Work out the homework problems and try reading ahead for the reading quiz's and you will do well. Awesome instructor wouldn't choose anyone else.
If you take her I wish you good luck. Her tests are hard. If it's your first physics class get familiar with the PSME, they save lives. She's also terrible at office hours. Avoid her if possible.
If you ask a dumb question or argue a point she gets very aggressive and puts you in your academic place. Do not recommend
SHE IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!! She doesnt return a single paper during the whole term so u dont have any idea how does she grade. So you fail your tests one by one and no clue why!! Tests are extremely hard and no matter how much you study you get a same grade! Avoid her for sure even if u have to take this class like me!
She's rude and unhelpful, will make you feel completely stupid even though I'm a 4.0 student. Her online class is just reading the book, she doesn't have anything helpful aside from a cut and paste from the textbook... Easy class if you're a self learner although frustrating at times. Would NOT recommend.
Although the material is easier than 4B, she is an awful lecturer and is very unclear. She doesn't give practice tests or let you keep tests to use to study for the final. She is very rude and enjoys pointing out mistakesembarrassing you in front of the whole class! I'd say avoid her, but if you must, good luck. :(
I took Introductory Physics last summer. Toughest teacher ever. I self studied in the online class. The final test was the hardest. It is your effort to study for advanced Physics material. She does not care. Will never take another class with her.
At first she seemed okay, but it was clear shes unorganized , not very clear about assigned problems, forgetting to print out testsquizzes occasionally, and at the end of the quarter she was unreasonable with office hours (ex: told us she'd be there at 3pm, she came at 4 saying she said nothing about coming at 3pm). Big ego too. Avoid if possible!
This is AP course material for an introductory physics class. She cuts and paste from the textbook. She has no clarity and has a huge ego. Avoid her class if you can. She is not there to help you learn and her grading is tough!
Took her for online intro. physics. She was entirely unreasonable with grading. Discussions were impossible to get >75% even if you did more than others (that's if you ask her to clarify some confusing modules). Just gives you the book, says "read it and do these problems online. There will be a quiz each week." very aggressive and demeaning
She is amazing! I love her so much! She is one of the best physics teachers here at Foothill!
She is amazig. One of the best teachers here at Foothill! LOVE HER
Sue is one of the nicest professors here at Foothill. She spends time going over problems with everyone and she gives great feedback! I love her style of teaching. She practically gave an opportunity to get back points on exams. She is the best!
Very Professional. Very Kind. There is no teacher like her! I took her twice for physics and did super well in all of her classes! I wish more teachers were like her!
She actually pretty funny! She makes some of the best jokes in class! Her exams are not as bad as people think they are. Study and you will do well!
She is a great teacher for 4C She really cares about what you have to show on the exams! Plus she gives extra points out too!
Avoid her at all costs. Took Physics 4C/Statics/Circuits with her. Doesn't accommodate students' needs, has a poor attitude, and doesn't have clear grading criteria. She is actually quite knowledgeable, despite all of her negative qualities, but the fact that she barely cares about teaching or her students makes her "experience" worthless.
Be prepared to self study, even though this professor answers hw questions in the discussions. Homeworks are not enough practice for the final exam. Since it was a summer online course, each week has hw, topic discussions, and a quiz so it will feel rushed; easy to miss out quiz or hw! Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Mainly textbooks.
Lots of hw and all optional, but to succeed you should do all of it and then some more. Super hard class and her lectures are not great. Rely on self study more than lecture. She can come off as harsh and will sometimes say your questions are stupid. Don't be discouraged she really just wants everyone to do well with tough love. super hard exams
Her office hours are more useful than her lectures. Her lectures are the same as reading the books. Her grading are bad, and the multiple choices are weighted very high. Be prepared to read and memorize the key concepts while do every problem in the textbook and still not being able to get A in this class. Frustrating. Avoid at all cost.
Not stellar, but not absolutely horrible either. She comes off a bit harsh. Doing the homework helps as the exam questions are similar. She does reading and homework quizzes, which I found to be a pain and they brought down my grade. Labs are easy and fast
Avoid her at all costs. She is lazy and copies problems from the textbook on her exams, sometimes forgetting to include information on questions. Her exams are pretty hard, but the final is pretty much impossible. I recommend taking any other physics professor at Foothill.
Sue is a pretty reasonable and entertaining professor, but is downright terrible at teaching. Lectures are useless, you're going to learn everything from the textbook. Quizzes and tests are copied from the textbook, often incorrectly making the problems problems impossible unless you've ready done them. Spend all your time doing textbook problems.
This class is very tough but I did learn a lot. Her labs are quick and easy, and she doesn't collect homework, but will instead select one problem from each assignment for a quiz. Lectures are fast and can be confusing if you haven't read ahead. Test problems are taken directly from the text to eliminate English issues, because she has an accent
I cant speak for her lectures but her online course was pretty rigid. She lowers the # attempts you get for homework over time and her exams cover the entire chapter (even the hardest problems). Shes pretty generous with partial credit and drops lowest midterm. Final is 60% material covered on midterm and 40% new and worth 50% of overall grade.
I love Professor Wang! She is a very kind person, and it is clear that she genuinely wants everyone in her class to succeed. I found that doing lots of textbook problems is the best way to prepare for her exams. Her tests are scored out of 110 so getting an A is definitely attainable with effort.
Worst/hardest professor I've taken. Provides formula sheets for exams, but exams usually require formulas not on the sheet/barely covered. Ambiguous problems & harsh grader--extra credit not useful. Final worth same as/less than 3 midterms. If online, requires variety of objects for lab, but doesn't list until week before due. (e.g PVC pipe)
Whatever you do, do not take this professor. I took her online class. Her canvas was messy and difficult to navigate through as she had so many things in so many places. Her exams are 4x harder then any lectures or homework she gives us and most content is not even covered in the homework which is harder than lecture content. Do not take her class.
Absolutely terrible professor for intro to circuit analysis. For online, she didn't lecture at all and her typical lecture hours were turned instead into office hours. But that wasn't that main issue. The main issue was all the example videos she has are VERY unclear and she skips SOOOO many steps when solving a problem. I taught myself everything.
Final is worth 50% of grade which is kind of crazy. There is extra credit in hw, but hw is only worth 20% of the grade. Weekly quizzes are 45 min time limit. You have to be VERY diligent to study yourself & practice a lot to succeed. Do better than me! Book is optional but get it. Never failed a class til I took this maybe I'm just bad at physics.
Worst professor ever! Signed up for synchronous class, but have to study asynchronously. Her instructions are unclear and can't explain the exam problems properly rather makes the questions sound confusing on the exam. Labs are bad. Her english is not so good. Deducts points unnecessarily. Doesn't care about transfer students. GPA Kill. Avoid her.
She's a really bad lecturer and can't explain anything. Her modules has material from other sources but her. Labs have 2 diff submission and grades rudely, quizzes are from HW but her framing of the question and grading is just so confusing. Not lenient with transfer students who transfer in few months. My peers got points deducted after graded.
Bad bad bad! She grades 110 marks exams out of 100 and says that's the extra credit. Doesn't care about students. Even after confirming with her about the content of the lab, she still deducts points and contradicts her statement. Very unclear. Difficult exams and expects the students to do according to her even though she doesn't teach. Don't take
I have started hating physics after taking her class, and a prof should never do this to their students. Got a weird accent and gives confusing explanations for exam problems. Her canvas is messy and hard to navigate. Doesn't teach and expects a lot from us. Grades differently for people. You'll regret taking her, so don't take her.
Worst professor Ive ever had. Doesnt lecture and expects you to know things that just arent in her modules or textbook. If you ask a question you get blamed for misunderstanding. She makes mistakes and blames you for not realizing her mistakes. On tests shell speak loudly for about 5-15 minutes because she makes a mistake every time. AVOID!!!!!
Quizzes repeat problems from the homework. Midterms are hard, but if you just study you'll do well with the possible points being 110 points out of 100.
Avoid her at all cost. She frames her own questions in weird english for the exams. Even if you try hard to understand it, you just can't. Talks kindly to the students who she thinks are smart else you'll be ashamed in front of the class for asking questions. Doesn't teach and sometimes it is difficult to understand her chinese accent.
Ridiculous. Has mistakes on every exam. Youll never get your questions answered because she confuses you. She just cant explain her stuff. Doesnt let you know your mistakes unless you beg her, and even then no guarantee. Shes got ego and always has a head ache during Q and A session. Save yourself & your grade by not taking her.
Sue actually gives incorrect answers to questions regarding thermo, optics, and waves. Her canvas, quizzes, and labs are all difficult to understand, and not useful to prepare for the exams. The exams are riddled with grammar errors, and you receive harsh penalties for algebraic mistakes regardless of your understanding of the material overall.
Wang is literally the worst prof i had in college and i dont know how i can pass her class to transfer. She is really rude and doesnt care about what comes out her mouth most of the time. She does not care about students and teach well at all. Asking questions from her would hurt your character and its the worst thing about the class....
She does not lecture at all. She provides some random youtube lectures that anyone can find on youtube. Her quizzes are related to the homework but midterms are very difficult. I would not recommend this teacher.
There are no lectures, only recorded videos where you can clearly hear her computer fan whining. Super unhelpful, sometimes there aren't even lectures on a chapter, just an example problem. Some test questions make you quote the textbook. Quiz questions are questions from the book but changed to make them impossible to do in the 15 minutes she give
I had a strong GPA at the start of the quarter. She expects you to solve problems in quick time. The quizzes are quite hard to solve in the time allotted. Class average for the open-book midterms was slightly above passing, but that won't save you bc the final is closed-book and worth 30% of your grade. Sadly, she typically doesn't curve the grades
NEVER TAKE HER, NEVER, NEVER. HARD EXAMS, NO LECTURE JUST RECORDED VIDEOS, SUPER HEAVY EXAMS WITH LIMITED TIME LIKE 10MINS. THE WORSE.
VERRYY hard professor. No lecture videos. Basically have to learn everything by yourself. Not clear in the syllabus. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! She expects you to self-learn everything. She wants you to do homework problems, but provides no solutions to them. She lectures way too fast without clear explanation. I honestly regret taking her. I should've skipped a quarter for taking a better professor. Stay away no matter what.
Basically this class is all self-taught. You're going to have to read the textbook on your own and do everything yourself. She gives you 20 minute quizzes which are pretty easy. But the fact everything is self-taught what is the point of paying money out of your pocket for a class thats supposed to teach you something.
So far quizzes have been fairly easy but I feel it isnt preparing us for the midterm/final which I heard from others will be extremely hard. Quizzes have a ton of grammar error so can be difficult to even decipher what is being asked/given. No recorded lectures so good luck tryin remember what was taught in lecture. Basically a self-taught class.
Her quizzes are based on the hw and doable. Her exams are really hard and not like the quizzes at all. Recently learned that she gets the problems from the recommended text so pls get that textbook if you wanna pass! It's much better than the free openstax one. The pace is really fast. Quizzes every week, including on the week of an exam
Honestly not a good professor. You will have to teach yourself everything and the midterms aren't even like what you are told to practice and what you see on the quizzes. The entire class is fed up and we aren't learning. We confronted her, it didn't help. Avoid her if at all possible if you value your mental health and GPA. Save yourself
Hybrid class- pretty disappointing. Absolutely no sympathy, questionable lectures that are not recorded and thinks that students should be dedicating all their time to this class. Claims to want students to succeed but does not listen to what students have to say. Laughs a lot but no one laughs bc nothing is funny. Proceed w caution..
She is the worst professor I have ever had, literally no explanations were given if we had questions. Finals were 50% of our grade which I would have been fine with if it covered the content we read in the textbook or were like problems we were given before. No matter how much anyone studied, no one was prepared for the final.
I had to get private tutoring & take a week off work to get a good grade. I 100% was on my own in terms of learning the material, and I high highly recommend you wait to take this class with someone else. Class average was 45% on the final exam, which is completely on her & not the students. Heed the other warnings on here lol
Sue Wang will not teach you anything. This doesn't mean the class is not passable, it just means you will have to self-study the entire course, which is possible but very time-consuming and mentally draining. She's loud, impatient, rude, and quick to judge. Her lectures are a waste of time so just mute them and read the textbook. Avoid her.
So the entire class had to start a petition because her exams/quizzes were so unfairly administered. The first exam was literally out of left field. Almost had zero correlation to the quiz/homework question. Half the class dropped and the other half asked the Dean of Science to step in. Avoid this professor if you want a STEM career.
Take her class if you want to destroy your GPA. If you take physics class for the first time, better teach yourself everything before the course begins. Exams are nothing like you learned from lecture or practiced from the homework.
She is the worst teacher Ive ever had. If I could give her a 0 I would. Most of your grade comes from her tests which are nothing like her quizzes/homework. Out of 28 students, 10 stayed till the end. She keeps saying its a hard class, yet puts no effort into helping her students succeed. If you really need physics, go to de Anza.
Horrible if you could take any other teacher do it but if she's the only teacher I recommend taking it the next quarter or at a different school.
Her first midterm was like a week before the drop deadline. She grades the paper literally 2 days before the drop deadline so if you bombed it you basically have 48 hours to decide if you want to drop the class. Absolutely unprofessional and from what I was told after I dropped, the dean had to get involved. Avoid this class like the plague.
My course was online and the first part didnt seem too bad. The quizzes were kind of do able with the homeworks but Sue didnt teach any of it. I was at an A until the final came around, everyone got a 58 or lower, the final wasnt related to the course at all and screwed everyone over. She was so bad Im still thinking about it 2 years later.
Absolute worst instructor I ever had; based mostly on quizzes and tests. Manageable quizzes, abominable tests. Alas, that's not all: she is also at fault for creating the most hostile learning environment I had come across. Questions annoy her to the point that she will refuse to answer and even humiliate students for asking for clarification.
Her exams are not at all unexpected. True, you wouldn't have seen similar problems on the homework or quizzes. And that's how it should be! You're not supposed to memorize solutions and regurgitate them on the tests. And, she is more than willing to answer questions. I think people mistake her bluntness for annoyance.
Disgraceful
I really liked her tbh, I think she's funny, and its clear she has a lot of passion for circuits. If I were to take the class again I would do ALL of the homework assignments early and make sure I can confidently do all of them correctly. I would also go to office hours. She will like/favor you if you participate and are obviously working hard!
This professor was AWFUL. She told me face to face "I wouldn't recommend any student to take this class" AND "half the class normally fails". Felt like she takes pride in failing her students. You sign up to be a teacher to help people learn and want them to succeed. Hated this professor. No sympathy for students. Hard grader.
AWFUL! She is so picky about everything! Do not take her! Worst professor I ever had! Does not explain anything well!
Awful. Avoid at all cost
Disorganized mistake ridden lectures. Disorganized canvas page. Used examples from a different version of textbook than the one required for the course. Needed to copy down circuit diagrams when she lectured, making it difficult to follow.
There are recorded videos of her solving problems in the textbook, but most lessons are just YouTube videos made by someone else. She is extremely picky with how you approach and solve problems, and also has her preferred notation that differs from the textbook. JUST WHEN I THOUGHT SHE WAS FINALLY RETIRING, SHE CAME BACK AGAIN TO TEACH 37 ASYNC.
One of the worst teachers I have experienced. She does try her best but her canvas tutorial videos are impossible to follow along. She takes the most simple things and makes you feel like your having an aneurysm. Only take this class if you have to.
Took this class to fulfill my last lower div req at my main uni. One of my last few classes to grad. Her notes were hard to follow for me personally She grades rough, I have had classes at my uni that are way more chill. Had a decent grade til the final. You need a 50 on the final to pass. Failed the final, failed the class. No curve no mercy
I would not recommend her if you want to improve and learn the material of the course. In the beginning of the course, she said that students who come >5min late will not be able to get credit for the lab work (unless they did an interpretative dance), however, one day she came in 30min late. absolutely unclear on everything.
This professor did not provide any original material other than a few worked examples from the book. She did not have online lectures and she didn't provide other resources. She then grades quizzes incredibly hard and acts confused when students don't do well in her class which she doesn't teach.
