She is a very good teacher.She's very helpful and provides a lot of extra credit. So there is no way you can do bad in her class unless you don't do anything.

Mrs. Black is an AWESOME teacher. people think shes hard.., but actually its really easy not only to pass,, but to pass with an A or B. i mean, come on. she has study sessions for extra credit, and gives so much opportunity to get your grade higher than wut it is. if you fail her class,, u suck.

She always makes time for her students and she is never too busy too help. She gives very good advice for success in the class...but some students may disregard it if she does not repeat herself. Also, she might not realize that a few students do not take her deadlines seriously. They know she will not be as strict as she claims.

Prof. Black is AWESOME. If you attend class regularly, there is no reason you should fail. The in class labs are pretty cool and most homework can be googled. She has a loving personality and I highly recommend her!!

Dr. Black's class is amazing. She provides clarity on several topics and makes it easy for some of us to understand. This class is good for students who need a refresher on general chemistry, or who are very shaky on the matter in general. You should, however, enter the course with some background knowledge in chemistry (high school level at least)

Dr. Suely Black is a wonderful instructor, she really cares about her students and give every opportunity to succeed, so if you don't you have not tried. She is dedicated and inspirational, I am glad to have taken chemistry for the very first time with her.

She is a really good professor and she cares about the students. She sometimes goes fast when it going over harder concepts and slower when its the easier concepts. If you have an A in the class you do not have to take the final which is very nice.

She is very helpful. If study session are giving go to them because it she really helps you understand the material. It's a lot of handouts but they really help you. She goes fast over a chapter but she will go back if needed too. For chemistry you really have to study for more than just a hour.

Dr. Black was very helpful throughout the semester, she had study sessions available for students and gave the option to retake a test if you didn't do so good.

Dr. Black is an incredible teacher and she's enthusiastic in the classroom. She believes in her students and she wants people to do well in her class. Biggest tip, ask for help all the time. Go to tutoring sessions, bring questions you have issues with to her. Watch the videos, bring your clicker to class, try to understand the material.

The class is very tough.

Shes an amazing professor. my only complaint was the clicker quizzes. we would just learn and topic and then there was a quiz. other than that, she gives extra credit, make up test and provides tutoring sessioins

she assigns homework through sapling. she also gives worksheets. make sure you keep up with them because you can get extra credit.

Tests are very tough. Examples in class are easy but do not relax and expect the test to be the same way. Overall, I WOULD recommend Dr. Black. Has many resources to help learn the material better.

If you need help she is there and ready and willing. Do sapling assignments. She is very helpful.

She is a great teacher. I wish I could have her for CHM 222 as well. I also wish I had her the first time I took Chemistry, she just explains things way better than my other professor did.

I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn chemistry II, she teaches it really well and I understand it really well. If I had to retake chemistry again I would take it again with her.

Dr. Black is a very good chemistry teacher. She breaks down the material for you and gives you practice worksheets to strengthen your foundation.

She's a really cool teacher, love her accent and she's really nice. Work hard in her class and be prepared for clicker questions and you will get an A.

Some of the tests and quizzes are pretty difficult sometimes, but she does give the occasional chance for a retake which is helpful.

Great Teacher. I had her for CHM 222. She starts off slow put then ramps up the pace towards the end of the semester. You have to be on your toes and her quizzes and homework are usually a lot harder than her tests.

She is a good teacher. She assigns online homework and worksheets. The course can seemed rushed, but you will be fine. If you do not understand, attend study sessions. Those count for extra points too!

Make sure you do the homework assignments and the practice exams because they're very helpful . A negative is that at the end of the semester the lessons seemed rushed but if you study and stay on top of things.

I am a PhD student at CMR, Norfolk State University. She took my Mathematical Methods class. I my view, she is the best math professor, I ever had. Yah Sometimes she push hard but it is how things works.

Just needs to focus on staying on topic when we are in learning teams meaning if we learned about a topic today the meeting should be about what we learned today not what we learned three weeks ago and it needs to be more in depth and people actually working to gwher in groups to help each other out not don't alone then go

Dr. Black genuinely wants her students to succeed. If you are failing then it is probably your fault. She gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities and posts a bunch of resources online. She also offers 2 extra hours (multiple days a week) to meet with her and a study group. The test and quizzes aren't hard. Just study! Dr. Black is the best!

Dr. Black cares about your performance in the class. She will do everything she can to help you pass the class. She would let us use a cheat sheet and/or a solubility rule paper during our quizzes/exams compared to the other chemistry professors that have you memorize it. She IS a great professor. I advise you to take her!

Dr. Black is one of the few professors that genuinely cares about the scholastic welfare of her students. She is available before or after class to go over any concerns you may have about the course work and is able to make profitable suggestions. She gives out summary notes and worksheets but you have to read and stay ahead.

She makes the course fun and interesting. Even though the course is a little tough, the resources given to you and the lecture help you with understanding the key concepts. I rarely had to use the textbook because of her and when I did it was for HW, or a little extra reading, she is such a great professor.

She explains topics extremely well. I always hated chemistry because I was never able to understand anything pas the Periodic table, but she explains it slow and gives lots of homework that helped me really understand the topics. She really cares about her students and I would strongly recommend her to anyone.

Extra credit that resembles the test, weekly quizzes, short easy hw sheets every class, easy to follow lectures, and learning team assignments. If you take her make sure you have at least a 2 hour period during the week to be able to go to learning teams. The packet is what is required and completing it in the teams is very helpful!

Dr. Black is definitely my go to choice when deciding to take this class. She is empathetic, yet she's no fool. She gives extra credit but you have to communicate with her. If she sees that you are working hard she will go to the moon for you but you have to try first. Definitely read the chapters as it relates to her notes before classes.
