Great Teacher! I was nervous on the first day but she really did a great job! I would take another class with you
Prof Miro is the best! The course is pretty difficult but she explains everything perfectly. She is incredibly nice and really likes to make sure that the class understands the content. She's a great teacher and a great person.
Professor has NO knowledge of the field whatsoever. No consistency in grading; it is completely subjective. Completely incomprehensible and unable to pronounce or grasp basic science terms and concepts. Unable to answer basic questions, and if she does, she gives incorrect explanations. Exams do not allow students to demonstrate their knowledge.
She was really intimidating the first couple weeks of class, but she eases up toward the middle of the semester. Very understanding and helpful if you talk to her directly about issues you are having in/out of class. I highly recommend taking Biology with her if you have the opportunity.
Professor Miro has a bad attitude, she doesn't like to answer questions in class, however if you need tutoring she will help you! I like the fact that she assigns home work making possible for you to learn the subject.

she doesn't explain very well. she just read the power point slides without going in very detail and the way she speak is very hard to understand. i wouldn't take class with her again if i have to.

She is probably the worst teacher I've ever had. I am taking a summer course for a requirement for my school. It seems as though she has no knowledge of the subject and never can directly answer questions you have. Any good reviews she gets is from her "favorites" most likely. She has distinct favorites who get good grades no matter what. Not fair.

Unclear, unhelpful, and does not seem to be able to spell nor how to use spell check. Totally guessed on what what expected for assignments and managed an A, but if you actually want to learn, I wouldn't recommend.
Very mean/strict, reads slides from powerpoint for lecture. Uses tests from another publisher which makes it difficult to relate to the text book reading she assigns. Occasionally feels bad for her students and gives them the opportunity to make up for bad grades, but generally gives her students more grief than necessary for a 101 class.
Her lectures consist of her reading slides or reading directly from the textbook. I could have taken the class online and read the material myself. Exam do not test knowledge on topics discussed, but seem to be picked at random from the textbook. She made many mistakes on tests and during lecture. I would not take another class with her.
I found this professor to be one of the worst professors yet. She doesnt know her material and all she does is read from the power points. She expects you to know a whole chapter to take a test and then when she gives it, NOTHING from that chapter is on it! I wouldnt recommend her
she read from powerpoint presentations only and I felt she did not have a good grasp on the material she was teaching. As a student, who has already been in the medical field, I found that I had to correct her alot and if she marked something wrong and it was right according to the book she would tell you the book is wrong....I wouldnt recommend
AWFUL! online class, if she posted directions/questions, most of the time didn't make sense. Doesn't respond to e-mails unless she feels like it. When she finally posts the test w/results, half the time she doesn't grade you correctly. ex:she told me I didn't answer a ?, I asked her to review again & sure enough I did answer it & she needed to fix
She is very hard to understand. her lectures are not useful. She confuses her english words. You can't complain about her because her brother is the dean.

The entire class is quickly moving through slides, while she read them. Does not leave enough time to ask good questions, but she's bad answering them anyway. Tons of reading, tons of extremely hard tests and quizzes that only ask about a few aspect of the large amount of reading assigned. Students with 90 or above get to really difficult final!

This professor is the worse instructor I ever had. She is confusing, has no knowledge on the subject. She gives random pop quizzes without going over the material. If you take this call expect to learn material on your own. She is moody, has no passion for her job. In the end no matter how hard you work, she will not give you an A. Awful at grading

I took an online nutrition class with this Professor and I must say she is extremely stingy when it comes to grading, especially on Exams! No matter how hard you work, she will NOT give you at least one 100 on the mountains of exams she assigns. I have tried explaining my concern to her and it is like talking to a brick wall, with no understanding
I wouldn't recommend this professor. She is almost never clear about what is expected of the students. I am not sure why there are so many tests or as she calls them exams! I didn't find a proper balance in her grading methods. Take someone else if you can.
Please take someone else if at all possible! She was very hard to understand and unclear in the lab. The lecture is very unorganized and the textbook is too convoluted! You have to read chapter 2 just to understand chapter 1 and so on. Also she is just not there for you and makes you work alone all the time. Biology is hard as is, she is unhelpful

As long as you get to know the things she is picky about it is an easy A and she is really nice.
She is a nice woman, but for a professor she is overly opinionated and didn't teach you the scientific portions that were needed, but her opinion on them. She is clear on directions, somewhat. She told me I was failing her class, when on my grade I had a B.... She told me I can do better than this... What?? How is a B failing?

Awesome lady! Test were harder than expected, I took her for nutrition and loved her but mirco was harder. Numerous opportunity for extra credit, Labs were never the whole class but they were fun.
Professor Smiro is very helpful. Attendance matters. Go to every class she gives an extra 40 points added to your grade at the end of the semester. Gives a lot of extra credits. do it all & its added toward your lowest grade. Not a lot of homework. Lab is very easy. Test are mostly take home or half home/half in class. Easy A!
if you want to actually learn something about microbiology, choose another professor. Her grasp of English is minimal and her knowledge of the subject is just as bad. Not to mention she is very strict and the tests are difficult considering you won't learn anything to prepare for them unless you memorize the textbook.
This proffessor is fair as long as you do your work and show up to class. Strict late policy but teaches clearly and the class is interesting.
This class wasn't THAT bad. As long as you do the work, pay attention, participate and read the book, you should be ok. She's strict and don't expect a grade if you pass something in late. She sometimes puts out her own opinion that isn't necessarily accurate and uses power point that she skips thru a lot.

Prof Miro was very helpful. She gives a lot of credits and she makes sure she helps all her students to pass the class. I love that she talked a lot about the practical application of Microbiology in our lives. One thing I didn't like about her method was that she didn't spend so much time explaining our lessons. She used a lot of videos.
Prof Miro is okay. Strict on Attendance. First class she mentioned if you have an issue with her to direct her first, which implies it has happened numerous times before. Class is okay, wouldn't agree something's are accurate. Plays a lot of videos. Strict personality. Some of her humor comes off as rude, I guess that's her way of being funny.
Never again would I take a class with her. She was rude if I emailed her to clarify directions on assignments and would tell me I didn't do them right and not explain why. (I followed all directions) She claims I failed the class and won't tell me why. She's being rude and she comes off as someone who's not a people person.
As long as you do the work that needs to be done, it's an easy class. She seems to have some people she really likes (which are the people who actually do their work) and she doesn't really like the people who don't show up and don't do their work. So just do your work and show up and you're good.
Don't take a Biology class with her! very stingy, picky, and takes points off every little thing! I know A+P is supposed to be hard but she went overboard! Her sense of humor was also "antiquated" and "fairly offensive" Plus the textbook was dated from 1998 since she overused PowerPoints. not helpful at all in the lab and always too punctual.

Sad to be leaving. On the 1st day, went over the syllabus very intricately. Seems tougher than she is on students. Not a pushover. Prepares helpful study guides and updates grades. Everything you need posted to Blackboard. Lots of extra credit. If you're present and read the chapters prior to class you will learn a ton. Labs are super fun!

I took the 10 day winter session so it felt like there was a test every other day but Professor Suhad provided good chapter review material. All the papers were fun and weren't required to be more than a few pages double space. This professor has strong opinions, but is very respectful.
First week there is a Lab and a Discussion, 2nd week onwards there is a Lab, a Discussion, and an exam. All she does is assign and grade. She never taught any of that and expects us to do the labs, the discussions, and the exams great as though we already knew this. We paid for a class because we need it and because we are looking to be teaching.
Prof Miro was clear and simple as far as what was expected. Fair grader and not too difficult of a class. I would take her again.
I took this professor's 8 week nutrition class and it was amazing. She's great at communicating and really cares about her students. Every week alternated between discussion board and test. Her PowerPoints cover everything you need to know for both. I was extremely nervous taking this course because I'm not great with science but she made it easy.

Shes hands-down one of the best professors Ive ever had. Shes very understanding and will give extensions if needed. She also gives extra credit and it WILL help you a lot at the end of the semester. Labs reports and assignment grades are clear and she offers ways to receive extra credit. Her lectures are not always very clear so the textbook is a helpful tool when studying for the quizzes and tests. She does not weigh grades so the grade on Blackboard will be your final grade. She is also accessible outside of class which can be helpful.
Professors Miro is amazing!! She is so helpful and makes tough material very understandable. This class is a must take, she is very dedicated and takes the time to help her students.

Took Miro's 2 week online winter nutrition course to cover 1 last science class I needed & while it was moderately difficult, I do think it was a good choice. There's 5 tests in 2 weeks & they're a little tricky (read the slides SO carefully) but she outlines her expectations for everything VERY clearly which is nice. I would take this prof again.

She is an amazing professor I had for bio, Nutrition, & Microbiology her lectures are amazing, she will help anyone that needs help not only in the subject but in anything and she will listen to everyone.
Honestly she was a pretty good teacher, she was a fair grader, and she was pretty clear in the things she wanted. On paper she does seem a little demanding or rude but I feel like it was just wording that made it seemed that way because if you had any questions she would get back in a timely matter and answer your question.
I took NS101 online. I am high support autistic. Professor Miro gave unclear directions on Blackboard, which I couldn't follow to her specifications due to my disability making indirect communication difficult. She graded me harshly for my mistakes. When I asked for clarification, she was not communicative, and the disability office wasn't helpful.

The most engaging and hilarious lectures I've ever had! I always looked forward to her class. There's a lot of extra credit, short labs, only one lab report (group). She's a bit disorganized—homework and deadlines are often given in class and not in the syllabus. She may seem intimidating at times, but she is caring and fun. You won't regret!
Initially a bit intimidating that I almost switched out of her class but glad I didn't. She is very responsive to emails and wants you to do well. She grades on participation and attendance so not a class to skip. Basically an easy A if you show up and do your work. Not homework or reading heavy.

Professor Miro is an amazing professor. I agree with others that she can start off intimidating but she just wants you to learn, meet her expectations & keep students safe. Still in her class as of now, but right now ive loved the class. She makes the class very fun. She's not strict at all; just be on top of your stuff. The greatest part is she lets us do our tests at home
If you're taking this class as a nursing prereq and you just want to receive a passing grade, you'll be fine as long as you show up to most of the classes (on time) and participate. Quizzes are open-book at home, which makes them easy to pass but doesn't incentivize learning the material. Expect to teach yourself from the (well-written) textbook.
