She is very smart teacher. It would be very easy understanding if you take. Don't hesitate. Go register her class!
Professor Joo is one of the best math teacher's Broward College has to offer. She is very knowledgeable in mathematics. It may appear she goes by very quickly, but she makes every attempt to clarify any questions you may have before or after class. She offers extra credit when applicable. Very fair grader and loves to help her students! I recommend
Professor Joo is extremely nice and she works with you. She goes over things that need extra clarity and her tests are fairly simple and to the point. If you understand the material, take notes, and listen in class there will not be a problem. What she teaches in classes is what you will see on your test.
Sui is the best professor!
She is absolutely AMAZING!!! BEST teacher i have ever had in math! She is kind, sweet, and makes math very clear. As long as you ask questions on things you don't understand then you will pass with flying colors! there are 5 tests and they are pretty simple. She also gives lots of extra credit! I will be taking her again.
My background in Mathematics hasnt always been great, but after taking this professor i feel ready for pre-calc! She is very helpful and gives extra-credit(a lot)! Goes over H.W. questions @ the start of every class which was great cause some teachers dont, def gonna take her for Statistics. Tests were fair, im always the last to finish them though.
Professor Joo, was extremely helpful and took the time to ensure that you understood the material. I had been out of school for the last twenty years and she was extremely patient with my questions and took time to go over the homework.
She's a sweet lady who knows how to teach. Her classes are easy as long as you put in the effort. The tests and projects are more than fair. I'd take her again!!
Very nice teacher. She goes fast, but she will answer all your questions. She assigns lab hours, but going to the lab to do the hours helped me prepare for a lot of tests and get homework done. All in all I enjoyed the class.
Great prof! Easy class! Just make sure you take notes, ask questions when you don't understand, and practice, practice! She gives extra credit, super easy projects, and attendance is part of your grade! Good class, great prof!
Professor Sui Joo is one of the best professors I have ever had in BC. The problems she teaches in class are exactly how it will be on exam. You can ask her to repeat math problem several time & she will not get mad. She teaches step by step. She gives you alot of extra credit. If you dislike math trust me take her and you will change your mind.
OMG PROF JOO IS THE BEST STAT TEACHER @ BC , SHE KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THE SUBJECT AND IS EXTREMLY HELPFUL AND WANTS HER STUDENTS TO PASS , JUST COME TO CLASS . I JUST PASSED HER CLASS WITH A "B" I HIGHLY REC HER . THE BEST CLASS ON A SATURDAY , AND ITS WORTH IT ;;; TAKE HER :)
She is an excellent professor, she makes sure students understand, and Statistics with her seem so easy. She gives a lot of extra credits impossible not to get an A. She is an asset to Broward College.
Professor Sui Joo is a great instructor; she explains everything clearly & provides multiple examples for each concept covered. Though the textbook is required in order to complete the homework assignments and some extra-credit, the notes given are comprehensive & serve as adequate studying material for the (multiple-choice) tests & final.
This professor knows hows to teach math to students. She is great in her lectures and takes her time to explain the material if you do not understand. I took her to algrebra and statistics and she has been one of my paforite professors. I recommend her you take her class. You will not regret taking her at all.SHE IS GREAT!!!
I have not taken a math class in years so I was very anxious about Statistics. After reading other great Ratemyprofessor comments about Professor Joo, I decided to sign up for her class. I am so glad I did! She is patient, kind, and very fair as long as you do the work and study. She explains the concepts very well. She's a wonderful instructor!
Wonderful Professor, I always hated math until I took her class. She is very patient and help you understand the problem. Do the homework and extra credits and you will succeed. I got a B in her class. TAKE HER!!! Highly Recommended!!!
The best math teacher ever. I started to love Stats after taking her. She gives alot of extra credit and is very patient. And get this, I took Statistics in the summer. I pulled off a B. If I studied a little bit more, I would of got an A. Take it. Just apply yourself and do all extra credit.
This professor is the best math teacher I've ever had! I just love my calc class! She explains everything perfectly, is patient and gives extra credit. Her tests are ok and the quizzes help a lot. Do the hw for practice and you?re guaranteed an A. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! SHE?S AMAZING!
An amazing teacher. Highly recommended. ! I will be taking her for statistics.
Professor Joo is by far one of the best professors at BC. She pays attention to her students and finds easier ways to learn difficult material. If you do your HW you will excel in the class. She is very pretty as well, which makes it a little easier to pay attention and get involved in class.
Took class in the summer and failed. I took it again but with her and I am going to pass with an A or B. If you dont understand, Prof Joo is always willing to help. You have 4 tests (best 3 counted), over 20 quizzes online(best 10 counted), and the final. Plenty of extra credit given. Definitely a great teacher for a hard subject.
She is an amazing teacher. Im currently taking her class for the 2nd time and she is super good. She teaches to where you understand and she gives extra credit to help you pass. If you fail its because you didnt want to pass. Im a MDC student but I will be taking Statistics with her next semester. AWESOME!!!!
She's the best math teacher, and teach in general, I've ever had. She's very helpful and clear in her explanations. She gives lots of extra credits, and gives partial credit for work even when you get the wrong answer. She makes hard math subjects like calculus seem easy.
Best teacher ever. She is always willing to help. If you do your homework, you will get a good grade :)
Great teacher ( knows how to teach ), 4 easy tests ( mostly multiple choice n she drops the lowest grade ) , a Final, n counts your best 5 quizzes ....... do your homework and study the online quizzes, easy A n you don't need a textbook.... take her you wont regret it!!
Wonderful teacher. Very helpful and patient. I hate Stats and I got an A. Of course, I worked for it - it wasn't handed to me on a platter! Just do your assignments.
very good teacher. I'd rather chew glass shards than deal with any kind of Math, but she teaches with the upmost clarity and understanding. Easy A if you just listen in class.
Prof.Joo is very helpful.highly recommend her.if we do our homework, then we are good to go.A simple project using a software,5 take home quizzes and four exams(non accumulative)which is good.very easy to understand stats.she explains step by step.does not go fast.
Very smart professor, she is committed. She is usally in the lab where anyone is able to ask for and get the help that they need without feeling demoralized. She is unassuming but extremely knowledgeable. I did not know Statistic but I applied myself and studied hard made an A. Hallelujah!
Very clear, wants you to understand subject. There are online quizzes, no tectbook. TAKE HER!
Maybe its just because its calculus but i found this teacher to be very hard, yes she gave extra credit but not much of it, there is no practice test , i felt sometimes she was going way to fast and made it hard for students to keep up and understand, she was very hard to talk to because i found her rude at sometimes most of the class dropped.
I hated every moment of this class. I took Professor Joo for Honors College Algebra. This class was so complicated. The tests are much harder than what she taught the class. I'm good at math, but the tests were so different. I'll NEVER take this class again. She's so picky with grading. She's an nice person, but a horrible teacher.
Prof.Joo is very helpful. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn. As long as you do the homework you wil pass. She explains stuff and does not go fast. If you don't understand something she will go over it until you get it. I am 47 and that rarely happen; that's how clear she was. She is great. I took her for MAC1105 & STAT2023.
I love this class, she is great teacher. Her test is basic off the chapter review that recommended for the test. Those that drop the class can't handle calculus. if you do the homework, you will pass the test with an A. The test has no trick question, straight forward. Can't handle the subject, it's not her fault! Extra Credit to help.
No review or guidance of what to expect on the test, will just answers students questions. So even though it felt like I know the material all it takes is two wrong answers and you can fail the test (Not a joke). Would fish the students for compliments and would mention how easy this stuff was for her in front of entire class. Arrogance.
I can say is that she is the the best teacher that BC has (I am graduating in May). She makes any class easy to understand, she is fair with her grading, she gives extra credit and she is always available to help. People who don't think much of her, either didn't do the work or did not attend her classes because with her it is impossible to fail.
Professor Joo is a great math teacher she is very patient, and is willing to explain things clearly when you ask. Do your home-work and you cannot go wrong in her class.
I wrote a review a few days ago and it was erased. I thought students were allowed to state their opinions about a professor. if you want a professor who teaches as fast as the wind blows ad who doesn't review, then this is the one for you. I would not take this class again. It was too stressful because she teaches way too fast, she is nice though.
A horrible teacher. Do not take her for Calculus II. She goes too fast, does not go over the steps and you will feel that no matter how much you practice or study, you are not learning anything. She is not helpful if you ask for help, she will give you a worthless website. Took a private tutor a little too late but what a difference! Run like hell.
I picked this class because of of the rave reviews.. but this prof made calc too difficult! she wants to teach every little detail in the book and she is a picky grader! no partial points given and takes points off for everything! this is a 3 hour class.. and she will lecture for the whole 3 hrsand never lets you leave early.
This is the best Math professor at Broward College. You will have to work Hard for the A. The homework is way harder than the test so I suggest you do the homework the test will be cake. Just follow instructions do your quiz's and you will get the grade you worked for.
Very helpful willing to stop and answer questions. Very nice professor and has a very efficient teaching still and will not confuse you. Just follow instructions and you will get an A in her class.
Prof. Joo is great. She is very helpful and gives lots of extra credit to boost test score( but you must remind her to give extra credit). If you do all homework and quizzes the tests will be a breeze. I don't understand how anyone can fail her class! Text book not needed, homework and quizzes all done online through mathxl website.
Prof. Joo is a great person. however, she teaches way to fast which doesn't give you much time to really absorb the subject and also does not offer any practice tests, which is what most other Prof at college level do to prepare you for the test.
The tests are MURDEROUS. Incredibly hard. However, I went to math lab EVERY week and she was really helpful in helping me complete homework assignments. There is no way to cheat in these types of classes, you have to know the material INSIDE and OUT to pass the tests. STUDY REALLY HARD! It is a hard class but its possible to pass!
This class is straightforward. You're in college, don't think & expect for a review for everything. This isn't high school, you're responsible & capable to review on your own. It's not her job to feed you the exam. She's a great teacher, she will help any time. She loves the subject & passion of what she teach. If you don't get, make sure to ask!
Professor Joo is great! Dont let the name fool you, she speaks perfect English. Other say her class is hard but not to me, I got almost 100 in each of her tests, maybe thats just cause I'm good at math. Shes extremely helpful if you need it. She will go over homeworks if u ask. She will teach the entire class period, and you will learn everyday!
I was so afraid of this class since I am horrible at math. Professor Joo is one of the best. Although she may go a bit fast at times, she is willing to go over anything. As a result, I got an A in the class! Homework is optional but I recommend doing it.Oh, and the class was actually interesting!
Take her! ! She is so helpful and she goes over everything you need to know. She is the only professor I have ever rated so that means she is one of the be. If you want to pass, take her and don't miss class.
DO NOT..PLEASE DO NOT!! A NEGATIVE INSTEAD OF A POSITIVE IN THE ANSWER WILL BE 3 POINTS OFF..RIDICULOUS GRADING..SHE DOES KNOW HER STUFF..NO BREAKS CONSTANT TEACHING FOR 3 HOURS!! TEST ARE TOO LONG TO FINISH WITH GIVEN TIME!..FIFTEEN PEOPLE DROPPED REST TEN STAYED IN CLASS WHILE ONLY 4 PASSED! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Great math teacher. Gives bunch of extra credit., hard to fail with them. Was very helpful, went to her office hours for help, and it worked. You will only fail if you dont care.
Professor Joo's teaching methods are fantastic, I notice this now more that I have moved on to a new math course with a new professor. Professor Joo is very well organized, and she barely makes mistakes. This new professor I have is sloppy, and all over the place, constantly making mistakes an confusing student. Not Professor Joo though, shes GREAT
This prof is about as good a teacher as you can get. She is very smart, very lucid and interesting to listen to. Daily quizzes are easy but make you keep up with the required pace. Her tests are entirely fair and representative of the material. If you do well-thank her. If you do badly blame yourself.
This professor by far was amazing I just took her for summer term I went in thinking this is it for me I'm going to fail but she turned that all around. I am horrible with math but she explained it,and made it look like cake if your looking for a math teacher Definitely take her and you have up study this is college
4 exams 80% of your grade , 1 project 15%, and 5% quizzes if you fail 2 exams then your done, each 5 pages with a no study guide she expects students do all the exercises in the book even with that her exams are hard. Her lectures are too basic of what really the chapter is about. Do not take her
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER! She wants you to learn. I had to retake this class because I failed the first time with another professor. I hated stats until I took her now I see it in a whole different light. Recommend her any day. Super nice and gives tons of extra credit. Put in the time and you will pass!
She does not know how to explain the material she is lecturing. She takes off points for small errors on tests and if you have a question or need her to explain the lesson again she won't! Listen the first time and try to remember or you will be lost!
I took professor Joo for college algebra and calculus. She's a great professor she always asks Her students before she starts her lectures if they have any homework questions you had trouble with and she will gladly work it out for u. Of course calculus isn't easy you're going to have to study a bit but she teaches math great
She is amazing. There are 4 tests and 4 small takehome tests which add to one whole test and a final. She teaches VERY well and is really clear so just reviewing notes will help pass all tests if ur bad at math. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. She made me like math again. Hw is optional, tho there are some online quizzes. No book necessary, passed wo doing hw
She's an awesome professor. I took her for Pre-Calculus and passed with an A in the class. There's plenty of opportunities to raise your grade. She will give extra credits out that will boost your test grades. I'm not sure if it was just because I had her early in the morning or what not, but seemed very quiet and mellow. Later on, she'll loosen up
She is a very tough grader. Have to show work exactly the way she wants and every step MUST be included. She does give extra credit and homework and quizzes are a must. They are done online through connect and that was really helpful because it would go ever every step with you. Test are more difficult though. Overall I liked her.
Took her for Summer B thinking I was going to fail b/c i'm not the best at math, but I ended passing w/ an A. Gives a lot of extra credit and is very clear. I definitely recommend taking her especially for the summer, she says she makes her fall classes memorize all the formulas (she gave us formula sheets for all our tests) TAKE HER!!!
After taking MAC1105 4 times before and not passing it for many different reasons I was able to pass with an A with professor Joo. She's inspires you to do good work and it always there for you to make sure you're understanding the material and not fall behind. Definitely recommend it if you're having a tough time with Math.
She is one of the best math prof at BC. She is very clear and her tests are very fair. If you do the homework, tests are piece of cake. She gives 4 tests and drops the lowest one. Also there are online quizzes. She also gives extra credit. Sure there is work but it's worth it. GO FOR IT!!
Your grade is 4 tests (60%), drops lowest grade, and the final (25%) with some quiz's to supplement your grade (15%). She is a good professor but her only problem is if you don't understand because of your algebra skills she has zero sympathy for you and moves on, made the class A LOT harder! No reviews but always willing to help with office hours.
The class requires a lot of work but she will help when ever you need it. She is an amazing teacher!
Gives extra credit, would take her class again if i didn't feel i got an A. not the best on explaining the subject but her lesson plain makes up for what you cant understand in class, she has a accent make should pay attention . Skip class you wont pass. she moves pretty quickly but she love's what she does. Btw you have to buy the textbook
She is not very good at all at explaining the material. She flies through the material and makes many mistakes so make sure you are being attentive. The online quizzes are very helpful in determining your grade since the tests she gives out are extremely difficult. If your math skills are a little lax I would advise not taking this professor.
Professor Joo is really clear and her lectures are really good. I failed calc 2 the first time but when i took it again with her i got a really good grade. She is really helpful and she doesn't mind going out of her way to help you. Also students actively participate in class so the lectures are never boring. Overall she was an amazing teacher.
Don't miss class, ask for help because promise your going to need it. She goes by things very quickly and microgrades. If she gives extra credit, do it, every bit helps. Hardest class I ever took and Im a nurse
very clever teacher. Don't miss class or you will be behind very fast!! Highly recommend her.
Professor Joo is a great teacher. Everything in her lectures is on the test given without any filler. Her online homework is a little on the heavy side, but it keeps you on track so your less likely to forget the material between test. I did not need a book for this class which is great. She'll give you feedback on your performance and is helpful.
Tons of work & effort, the material is very cumulative & requires elaborate work to solve problems. DO THE HOMEWORK! & ask questions. Her office hours saved my life. She is more than willing to help you out. Gives extra credit & has lots of examples in her lectures. One of the best math teachers I've taken. I couldn't have made it without her.
She is a pretty good professor just pay attention and do the homework. She goes over what is going to be on the test the day before. You miss a day make sure you receive the information you missed the day before. Your best bet is to not miss a day.
Very picky with her class if you are off even by a little bit chances are you will get the whole question wrong. 4 tests and 5 quizzes make up your classes. Tests ARE TRICKY! Be careful read your Notes! Also if you get a 69% she WILL NOT round you up! So what you get is what you get. She is a very nice lady though, and can be funny.
I took her for precal and currently trig. Great teacher. Explains in detail and gives extradite for the tests after almost every class.
Great professor took her for both trig and pre cal got A's for both. Hw and extra credit so it makes it easier for getting a good grade. More than Fair professor
If you want to actually learn, this is the class for you. She's a tough grader but she is the best math professor I've ever had. You'll work for your grade but so worth it in the end. Awesome professor.
She is a good professor, lectures well. You can ask her to repeat or go over it if you dont understand but her tests are hard. You will understand all the examples she goes over in the lecture and you will think you're a pro at that specific problem but when it comes to the tests, she's really tough but gives alot of extra credit as well.
Lots of studying but you can't take a math class and not expect to do that. Good thing is that she puts a test review way before every test and let me tell you it's very similar to the real test.
Excellent teacher!
shes awesome and goes through a lot of trouble to make sure her students are prepared for tests
The best teacher ever! I loved her! She know how to give you all this STAT information clear and makes you understand even if you do not want to :) No book needed, she gives you everything, loved that point too. (no extra spending $$). She also cares about you if you show her your interest in the subject. Take her class, you won't regret.
Prof Joo is awesome Statistics not easy but she gives a good amount of extra credit. Come to class ask questions has a rough exterior at first but she's very sweet n will go the extra mile to help you. NOT IF UR LAZY Come to class and def do the HW it will help you pass. Id take her again in a heartbeat. Definitely one of the best prof i'v at BC
all she did was ask for questions from the book and do them on the board, every time she went through something she would just say something like "x, you know, yeah? ok". Her teaching style is about as boring and unengaging as you could get, if she put in half the effort she does grading into teaching she would be great, that probably won't happen.
She does come off as strict, but she makes the class very easy for you. All the notes are on D2L, you print them, bring them to class and she goes through every step with you. Lots of extra credit opportunities. The quizzes are also all done at home and she drops the lowest one. I'm horrible at math and she made it easy to understand.
All you have to do is print the worksheets prior to class and she does them with the entire class. If you don't understand she will stop and explain how she got a certain anser. All assignments are on MyStatLab no textbook required. Her teaching style is slightly boring but she's an excellent teacher. Planning to take her again for STA2023
If you struggle with math, this class can be a little difficult. Sometimes her explanations aren't very clear if you ask a math question. All in all, just go over your notes to get a decent grade. There are also short quizzes every class.
She is very difficult and hard I was reading her reviews and thought she was good but turn out shes not.
Professor Joo is definitely a good choice for any mathematical course your taking, she provides more than enough opportunities for extra credit including spending time in the MathLab which helped me a lot. The courses aren't easy but it's math... She is available outside of class and reminds you often. Homework isn't graded but needed for practice.
WORST professor I've ever taken at BC. She gives quizzes everyday(no problem with this in itself) however they are only out of 4 so even if you get 1 or 2 wrong it WILL bring down your grade. She doesn't allow you to make up quizzes even if you were terribly sick you're keeping that 0%. She really tries but she's horrible at explaining things.
She really tries, but she's terrible at explaining certain concepts; and the class is hard already. Your only grades are 20 quizzes and 4 test- no homework, which is bad because minus the few extra credits, you have no way of bringing up your grade. The quizzes are only 4 questions every single class so even if you get 2 wrong you're getting an F
If math isn't one of your strong areas DO NOT TAKE HER!! She's terrible at explaining things and the only graded things you have are quizzes (which are everyday) and test. No graded homework to assist in bringing up that grade. She deliberately takes off points for the simplest of things. Just trust me and don't take her.
She is a wonderful math teacher. You print out a template for the notes in the beginning of the semester which includes lots of examples. There's 4 point quizzes everyday which should be easy A's if you actually try. Make sure you do the suggested homework in the textbook.
Prof. Joo is truly an amazing teacher. Stats is not super easy but it is not the hardest thing ever. She doesn't grade HW but she gives it to her students to help them better understand the material. Questions from the HW are VERY similar to the ones for the quiz. Math is not my strong suit but i passes. she is very open to helping her students.
In the beginning of the semester, she would lock you out for 15 minutes and you would end up missing your quiz and if you were there at the 15 minute mark where she would open up the door again, you were let in. Anytime after that, you're missing the entire class. She grades tough. Even during this transition with the virus, she wasn't helpful.
Im confused on why this professor has such a high rating I struggled so hard in her class. She is not a fair grader take. Dont take her unless youre really good in math. She failed me so theres that.
Best math teacher I've ever had. Taking in consideration I'm not good at math, she taught in a way I was able to understand the material. Very organized.
Professor Joo is an overall great educator. She teaches clearly, gives clear instructions, & is thoughtful. Shes great but the amount of work is way overwhelming at most times. Its doable, but stressful. Theres tests every other two weeks & homework due every four days on ALEKS. You need great time management for her class.
I took this class online and it was a lot easier than I expected. 3 proctored tests, 5 assignments, and 5 discussions. As long as you study, you will easily pass! I managed to get an A on all of the tests even though math isn't my best subject. Teacher isn't the most engaging but if you ask a question, she will answer quickly.
Professor Joo is one of the best professors I had. She cares about her students and responds quickly to all of her emails. She gave out lots of extra credits and also drop one of the lowest grade tests. She also allowed us to use notes during our test.
I took her class online and loved it. Mrs. Joo has concise lectures and would conclude the class by splitting us up to complete group work. You'll have a hard time if you don't attend class, complete the homework, or study. TL;DR: Mrs. Joo is a solid professor.
Don't take her, a lot of homework and instead of accumulate points while you are taking the test or quiz or homework, if you don't do good it will actually reduce your grade.
great professor!
Ms. Joo is so far my favorite professor. Even though she goes straight into the topics, she makes sure the class understands. If you have concerns, simply ask her, and she's very welcoming. She is very open and would give extra credit opportunities before an exam, and might give you the option to fix your grade. Above all, she's very understanding
I took Professor Joo for Mac1105C. She is one of my favorite professors I've ever had. If you don't understand math, you'll pass her class since she is clear and concise. All you need to do is to pay attention and you'll pass.
This professor was awesome! She explains everything so throughly and shes open to questions always. Within the semester their was 6 test including the final. You do have to do group work in class but its so helpful. And also the ALEKS really does help with the test. And you have to pay a $13 dollar packet in the beginning. But all in all the best
Super pleased with this class. Love the way she taught. I didn't struggle too much, which is shocking considering I normally struggle a lot in math.
I am horrible at math and I actually passed her class. She's AMAZING I can't stress it enough. As long as you pay attention and study for the test you will pass. She has four exams in total. There's like 20 quizzes which you do with a partner at times if not at home, from these 20 she only picks the best ones for your final. Highly recommend her!!!
Lots of HW through Pearson online. Proctored exams are weighted heavily towards final grade. Discussions are required as per usual with online courses. Professor provides extra credit and also removes the 6 worst HW grades at the end. Would highly recommend
I hate math and suck at math. I got a B but that is because calculators and notes are allowed on the exams. I spent hours throughout the day writing down everything important to help me on the exam which I got A, B, C, and two D which still made me pass. Many assignments but trust me when I say that it will help with your grade.
EVIL PROF. Will lock you out after the first 15 min of class. Has daily quizzes. NO MAKEUP QUIZZES, so even your in a car accident and can't come, she won't care. Annoying amount of group work for simple assignments. Barely understood her during lectures to be honest. If you need to pass for credit, DONT TAKE HER TRUST!! Don't know how I passed!
I honestly am not good at math, but I thought it was fairly easy because all the assignments are open. But what helped me pass was searching up the work on my own and finding other professors that have done similar problems to the homework she assigned, because the videos she has are old. There were 3 proctored exams and 1 optional final exam.
The class is easy to pass. Attend all classes and do the homework to help you study. 4 exams and 1 optional final exam. She does quizzes in almost every class and thats how attendance is checked. 3 projects that can be in groups or individually. Highly recommend the class.
Professor Joo is a great math teacher. With the help of calculators, notes, and Unstuck ai for practice, I was able to pass the exams despite struggling with math. The class has a lot of assignments, but they really help boost your grade.
I repeat if you are not good at math I do not recommend taking this class with this professor!! She can be nice but when she gives you your test back after she sees that you didn't do well she will give you this disappointed look as if she wants you to be good at math because she is. All of the five tests determines your grade for the class! Beware
I'm horrible at math. The H.W. is done in Pearson and it's a lot of H.W, just do them before the due date. My biggest challenges were the test and projects, you're allowed to use notes and scratch paper on proctored test. Theres extra credit opportunities. And enough assignments so you have a fighting chance to pass the course.
She's nice and helpful, but there are no test reviews. Homework is key since quizzes and tests are based on it. The notes are okay, but the material is hard. I didn't pass the tests but got a C from SmartBook and extra credit. There's also an optional final that helps your grade.
This is the best math professor I have ever had. For what is supposed to be a very difficult class, she made it incredibly easy to understand. I Love her teaching style and all the notes are posted after class. There is no unnecessary stuff to learn in here, everything she teaches you will be on the test. Please take her!
I took Professor Joo for Discrete Math, and she's been my favorite math professor. I usually struggled in math, but she made hard topics clear with real-world examples. She not only made me love math which hated previously but she also explains in great detail. She's supportive, and if you show up and apply yourself you will do great.
She was amazing! I havent taken a math class in 7 years. She was caring and understanding and broke down everything to make it easier to understand. She was understanding when i was having personal issues and would work with me so i wouldnt fall behind. I recommend her for any math class.
This professor is nice when it comes to certain aspects, BUT she has a tendency to make people feel bad about themselves. For example, if you have a question about an assignment during class she will say “we did this last class” and won't even bother to try and help you. She has 5 tests total and they are worth 52% of your grade EACH plus a final
The reviews on this professor are VERY misleading. She makes students feels bad about not passing exams or book work by giving them a dirty look. She also rushes through the examples that go with the book work. Incoming freshman BEWARE. Don't take if you're not good at math. And if you need this class for a credit please choose another professor.
She rushes through the examples and makes our classroom work an exit ticket and when we don't understand the exit ticket she gets aggravated. She also walks up to your desk randomly, looks at your work and say “it's wrong” and walks away without even bothering to try and help. She also pretends to not see students asking for help. Don't take her.
Professor tends to get passive aggressive when it comes to asking for help. She does five lessons every class and has tested every two weeks so it's kind of hard to keep up. Please find another math teacher online if she is your only choice for in person class. I barely made it out alive, this class is very time consuming and draining. :/
Her attitude is incredibly horrible and she teaches with the sense of urgency which is ironic because she gives a test every week and a half. I couldn't take the verbal abuse from her anymore so i decided to drop her class. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. She reminds me of the dementors from Harry Potter, absolutely draining. IM FINALLY FREE!! :D
In my personal experience, this professor was great. She's very caring, and thorough with her teaching. You can tell she's genuinely good at what she teaches, and explains questions well. She dropped all my learning activity grades that were 0's and dropped my lowest test score. Id personally recommend her!
