Incomprehensible... regurgitates the textbook
lectures are reaaaaaallllyyy boring! she just reads of her notes and slides and all that information is already in the textbook! If assignments are due at 9:00 am and you walk in at 9:01 you already got marks taken off you grade no matter what reason you bring forward..SWITCH TO ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!
Terrible professor. Her lectures are boring as she regurgitates the powerpoint (not provided) and textbook. She is of little help whatsoever and also very strict. Hand in an assignment a minute late and you lose marks, no exceptions. Class is a complete waste of time. She might be new to teaching, but overall, bad professor.
Her class is not easy... but I enjoyed her lectures. I like that she uses short videos in class. I think she is knowledgeable and cares about the students.
The lecture notes are not posted on BB, so you have to come to class and take notes. Strict policies on late assignments. Besides those she is a helpful and pleasant prof.
VERY strict when it comes to grades. Don't expect any rounding/boost. Just read the textbook and get cases from others. Would be better if she knew more about GloBus. Slides were pretty much from publisher, with minor edits which were not posted online.
LOL at students complaining about her for not boosting their grades or accepting late work. Welcome to university and eventually, the real world! Easy A for those who 1)went to class or 2)skipped but read textbook. If you didn't do either one, you don't belong in university. Prof responds quickly to emails and very approachable.
really hard to listen to and pay attention to. Attempts to get you to participate in discussions but isn't really good at it! Was great at using multimedia but all in all was a decent teacher! BE ON TIME TO HAND IN ASSIGNMENTS (which isn't hard!)
Lectures with this professor are quite boring. All she does, literally, is read off power point slides provided by the publisher with no extra work of her own put in. You can miss every single lecture and easily get an A as the material is right in the book. Mid term was VERY easy, final was a bit tougher. In class discussions are pointless.
This is a boring class to begin with let alone the teacher can only speak broken english and just reads off power points that were created by the publisher. She only covers an hour worth of material but stretches it out for 3 and spends the first hour of the class reviewing last weeks topics. Going to class is not at all necessary.
This class was challenging due to the fact you had to teach yourself. She is a sweet lady but it is difficult to understand what is going on since she has no idea either. Read before class so you have an idea of what she is talking about.
I think some of the complains are not fair. My classmates and I like her class and think she is very approachable. Her English is not perfect but the commutation is good.
Very nice lady, very approachable and takes a keen interest in her students, thought the class would be hard but just gotta read the textbook and her tests are very fair!!
A great prof, understanding and caring, very helpful outside the classroom. The tests are challenging but fair.
Some of these people who commented badly probably did not do so well in the course. The course is not that difficult, you just need to put the work in. She is very approachable, and always willing to see you even if it is not during her office hours. Overall, a great prof.
This class is challenging and she makes the tests very hard. She is a very nice person but she is not meant to teach this course.
Incredibly boring lectures. Encourages class discussion but does not seem to help with the material. In hindsight, one could just read the book and get an A+ in this course. She is a nice person and seems genuinely interested in what shes teaching.
Zzzzz. Class is basically a regurgitation of the textbook. Encourages discussion by asking questions but doesn't seem genuinely interested in answers given. Nice lady and clearly intelligent but still a little green. I'm sure she'll be better once she has more experience. As for now, read the text and you won't miss much.
Some of the course materials can be boring but the Prof is very passionate about the subjects. She invited some AWESOME guest speakers and it was amazing!!!
One the most approachable and caring prof I ever had. She is very helpful with explaining the materials that I didn't understand in class. I recommend her class.
Her accent is ridic but you'll get use to it after a while.. Get your hands on the test back if you can... the 'leaders' assigned to your industry mark your work and confont sui sui if you feel you've been cheated
Very bad at teaching. Just reads of slides. Can not understand anything she is saying since her accent gets in the way. Her midterms are ok. I had to rely on the textbook. Doesn't teach the calculus required in the course, expects you to know it. If you can take a different prof.
great teacher, interesting class. quite a few exam questions are based on her lecture not the textbook. you need to come to class to get A.
Not hard to get a good mark if you attend class and put some effort with Glo-Bus.
She is a very nice charming lady with a clear drive to teach and engage with her students. The speed and flow of her class is not at a fluent pace and she stretches 1 and a half hour worth of material into 3
Didn't need to come to class to get an A. What you need is the book and Globus. The course materials are very easy and straightforward. Class is boring, but prof is enthusiastic about teaching
If you come to class and put some effort in GLO-BUS you'll do well. Midterm and exam were both VERY easy and the two assignments were another easy 10%. She invited some good guest speakers and was genuinely interested in the subject. Definitely recommend taking GMS 200 with Sui.
Very arrogant about her experiences but none the less always has a smiling face in class. You NEED to take notes in her class as Powerpoints won't be released and the exam and midterms both have in-class discussions. Don't bring your mini-assignments late to class or you'll lose 10% right away. She has a timer on her screen so watch out!
Couldn't understand anything
If you have this proff SWITCH OUT ASAP ! if you take her for the rest of the semester you WILL REGRET IT! Dont make the mistake I made.
too desperate for participation... some slides are purposely left out of the powerpoints and there are 2 pop quizzes each worth 5%. so you can't be sick, you can't be late, you can't leave the lecture for even one minute or your final grade will be automatically deducted 5% or even 10%!
has a lot of weird rules
Dr. Sui was a really good prof for a really difficult class. A lot of your grade depends on how much practice you're willing to do. Luckily, her practice midterms mirror the actual midterms. Very hard marker but a very nice and funny person.
Dr. Sui gives clear expectations of assignments and reports and she is very helpful with group assignments. Class notes covers most exam questions. Take all her classes if you can!
Dr. Sui Sui is so passionate about Management and goes beyond limits to spark others interest in it. She is a very knowledgeable professor and uses many everyday examples to get students to understand.
She likes math so if it's not your cup of tea, I'd consider switching out since it only gets harder from the first lecture. She has a thick accent but is very funny and helpful
Professor Sui is very clear about what concepts are important. If you do the assigned practice, use her practice midterms and ask questions when you don't understand, the class is not difficult. It's clear that she's passionate about the topic and wants students to learn. There are pop quizzes, and attendance is important for a great grade.
Professor Sui Sui is an excellent professor at Ryerson University, not only is she passionate, kind, and caring. I had the opportunity to have her as my coach for a case competition and she was exceptional with her ability to tie real life concepts through strategic management and academics.
Dr. Sui is an amazing prof. She really cares about her students and would go above and beyond if you do your part. If you are looking for an easy course just to pass I suggest you look elsewhere, don't waste your time or hers. I love profs like Sui because I can learn so much from her, and I feel challenged to do better and not just the status-quo.
Amazing professor
Dr. Sui Sui is an amazing prof and really creates interest in the subject. Her guest speakers have all been so connected and it's really appreciated that she brings them in.
Amazing prof! You can see that she genuinely loves teaching, and it shows in everything she does. Her practice midterms actually prepare you for the midterms, and the pop quizzes aren't hard. The course material is hard, but she and the TA's are there for you if you ask.
20% of your grade is based off a term long group project, with groups that are randomly generated. Make sure you have a decent group and don't end up writing the end-of-term report (15+ pgs) all by yourself.
Great professor! Teaches the material well and prepares you for the exams with practice tests.
A very enthusiastic and effective professor!
a fantastic prof, she's the reason I chose the GMS major!
good prof but her TAs mark like complete garbage. plus they dont know anything about GMS so sui sui loses some points on giving them the right to mark papers. easy course but you cant understand her. also her TAs are terrible.
Sui is overall a very nice prof! The problem is you can barely stay focused in her 3 hour lectures. She doesn't go over everything in the chapters so make sure you read the textbook after. The mid term was generally easy, she will put questions that were only discussed in class (mainly examples). Finally the final paper was long and full of bs.
Although she is a person, her lectures are really boring and all over the place.
The best prof every. I love you sui sui !!!
Get the text book for this one. She was really nice but lectures were boring and hard to sit through. Textbook practice questions at the end of the chapters were very similar to the test questions. If you can do those you should be fine.
She is accessible outside class, but she tends to answer questions too fast. Her lectures tend to be quite disorganized and hard to understand. This turned out to be a course that I had to teach myself. Read the textbook!
She's honestly the sweetest professor ever, super accessible outside of class. Her tests are very easy if you just go to class and memorize her slides. Some questions are word for word off of her slides *hint *hint. You do need the textbook for this class to understand the stuff better. But SUI SUI, you're a gem!
Decent prof, prepares you well for the finals.. hard to understand, strong accent and very boring lectures. Slides are not posted online so you must take notes in class or from the textbook.
Honestly, I took the class because I have to for my major and after writing the exam I still don't know what I learned other than some basic econ and some random formulas. I managed to pass through the course teaching myself cause I just don't understand her.
I never went to class. I studied each chapter throughly and understanding textbook questions and thats how I did well on my midterms. Homework assignments are a easy 10%. I had a 75% before the final, but it dropped since I never studied for the final exam. Study off the textbook & slideshows (mainly textbook) and you will do well in the course.
Sui Sui is an amazing professor who is accessible outside of class & wants you to do well in the class. It's hard to understand her sometimes, but just follow the slides. Her tests are super easy, final is a bit harder so study hard for the FINAL! Need the book to pass the course & ask her questions during her office hours. Sui Sui UR THE BEST!
Class is very textbook heavy . She is a very easy marker and the midterm and final are very easy as long as you read the textbook. Her accent makes her somewhat hard to understand at times, she goes off on speeches that don't matter, and her lectures are very boring but attendance is not mandatory so it doesn't matter.
Really nice prof, heavy accent so a bit hard to understand, but at the end of the course she bumped me up to an A+ from an 89.45 (A), I recommend building a relationship with this prof bc she's happy to help out students she likes. Course material was easy so I didn't go to class but her classes were pretty interactive. sweet prof overall
Pushes you to actually learn , follow her instructions and do all the homework and you'll learn a lot. She knows how to actually get you to understand the course content if you pay attention and participate in class.
I don't like lectures so I experienced very little from the zoom's with Dr. Sui but from what I did, she is great. The grade for this course was broken down into way too many parts with 3 different deadlines each week, but overall everything was fairly graded and the tests were good. She provided extra materials and was very responsive on D2L.
She's an okay prof. There are many components in this class which are pretty scoring so that boosts your grade. Stick to the connect book and you ll do fine. Overall easy class
she is a nice prof that cares about your growth in the class. the midterm was tough which she recognized, and attempted to bell curve our grades. lectures are pre-recorded.
Dr. Sui is a good Professor, took GMS402 in the fall. Her lectures are only an hour or so long. you will however have to read all the chapters and buy the textbook because all the homework questions are on CONNECT. She gives you practice tests , USE THEM along with the homework questions, the exam questions look just like them but easier! practice!
Was a good professor, and very understanding. During the midterm, there was a timing error, and she was willing to give a bell curve if people were affected by the timing. She is also helpful, and gave us practice tests to use for studying. This course was really easy,
Dr. Sui was a great professor. She was very enthusiastic and caring. However, she often used recorded lectures during online zoom time, which I didn't quite fond of. The exams were MCQ but they were quite difficult as the time given wasn't much (about 60 minutes)
Very accommodating responds quickly even after class hours,
She's okay. Incredibly nice person, but her TAs are horrible. The grading is completely arbitrary, unclear and sometimes incorrect. She's by no means horrible, but you can do much better
Professor Sui is really nice, and tries to make her classes engaging. Sometimes, the lectures seem a bit pointless but not bad. Overall a solid professor.
Very nice teacher but she has a thick accent which makes her hard to understand at times. Aside from that, the class was really easy.
Very kind and always encourages others to participate in online lectures. She really tries to make the class more enjoyable by adding in her own experiences. The workload isn't much and all that's needed before class is just reading through the chapters briefly.
Her accent made things really hard to understand but overall was an ok prof. I would say teaching yourself through the textbook is the best way to go since she reads right from it anyway. Don't rely on solely her slides to study for tests/exams because it has limited info. Globus is super important so make sure you understand how it works!
Shes a nice person, however she does just read over the slides and instead of posting prerecorded lectures ahead of time she instead plays prerecorded lectures in the live zoom which I found a bit pointless. Id choose someone else if you have the opportunity.
She is really nice, I've seen lots of complaints about her accent but it is not that bad. The simulation used for this course is very difficult to navigate and she doesn't explain it at all, which, along with the exam worth 40% is really the only downside here. Case studies are done every few weeks and marked very easily.
Prof. Sui Sui is great--she's accessible outside of class & is very clear on the expectations. Her lectures consist of her playing previous videos of her going over the content & is straight from the textbook/slides. The course uses Connect reading & homework assignments which are easy marks. The assessments pull Qs directly from the textbook.
I really enjoyed her class. Such a sweet and caring teacher. Her assignment were very easy and her exams were fair. If you made notes and read the chapters you are flying threw this course.
I had prof Sui during virtual classes so this made it easier. She posts the lectures which makes it easy but I personally relied on the textbook which can be found online. She has a heavy accent making it very hard to understand but taking notes from the slides and textbook is the same.
Prof. Sui Sui is a fantastic prof and she truly cares about her students learning. The material for this class is pretty straight forward. If you just read the textbook and make good notes then you will be more than fine. GLOBUS may seem intimidating at first but if you have a good group it becomes easier each week and is actually quite fun.
I like the class but the group assignment is somewhat a mess. She didn't go through what we were supposed to do and how it works so we were kinda thrown into it. We also barely had time on the Midterm exam so be wary.
Professor Sui Sui is a great professor who actually teaches well! The course breakdown is Connect Reading (10%), Connect Homework (20%), Two midterms (each 15%) and final (40%). Super easy to get an A+ in this course. Midterm questions are very similar to the Connect assignments. Overall, a GPA booster!
Very easy prof, just have to listen in class.
I took this course as an open elective. Best decision because this course boosted my GPA. You can easily do well because the readings (20%) & weekly assignments (20%) both on Connect are an easy 100%! The two midterms - each worth 15% - are based on the connect readings & assignments, so take good notes. Attending lecture is not mandatory.
I enjoyed her classes as her lectures were interesting. The midterm was easier compared to my other courses. The final exam was difficult but she gave me an A and she responded to my emails quickly. Overall, she is a nice professor and quite kind.
Nice teacher, but her lectures can get boring. The course was easy, with lots of stuff to learn, but the way she put us into groups was a complete mess.
Having Prof Sui as your professor, you will enjoy the class. I have learned so much about managerial economics. This class is Lecture-heavy, but if you read and complete the weekly assignment, you will do amazing.
Her lectures are boring to watch, but if you read the textbook and practice the questions from the homework, you will be fine. There are many things to be graded on: homework, readings, group project/reflection, midterm, and final exam. The final exam was slightly more difficult than the midterm, so make sure you study for it.
Short and easy course. 2 mini assignments that TA's mark generously. A Glo-bus group project that runs till end of course. One mid term and a final exam. Teacher herself and her lectures are nothing extraordinary. She's alright and the course content isn't heavy. Lecture slide's leave out a lot of definitions and explanations.
Dr. Sui is a great professor, but her lectures are quite boring. The exams are pretty easy as long as you do the homework assignments and read the book. However, the group project is a complete opposite. The TA responds really quick for any questions, but she is a tough grader that you will be losing a lot of mark on grammars even using Grammarly.
Sui is a great professor. Very understanding and always goes and extra step to help students out. Fast at replying to emails. Clear and straightforward course content. Helpful with assignments. Definitely a great Prof!!
We were given 40 minutes to complete a 70 question midterm exam. That's just over 30 seconds per question. Thirty seconds. The course itself is the literal exact same material as my grade 11 business management course, and she is nearly impossible to pay attention to during the needlessly long online lectures.
She is a great prof. Her instructions tend to be clear, and her lectures are easy to follow. The exam times were not set by her so it's not fair to blame it on her. She does post slides and recordings of the lecture, however we were given really nothing else to prepare for the exam. Both exams were very fair, so no complaints. Recommend
Amazing prof I would definitely take her again. Easy to understand the mid terms and final exams were fair and everything covered in class was on the exam.
The spread is easy! 3 big exams and weekly homework which are marked 100% upon completion, no right or wrong answers. Her classes barely make you understand the materials and most of the times you can't understand her accent and what she's saying, but if you thoroughly read the book and her exam practice questions, A+ for sure. Would recommend 100%
She is a really chill prof i had her online and the class was fine. For some reason our final exam was changed to in person but her assignments are easy too. in chang its 2 assignments 5% each, midterm 35%, final 40%, group project 10%, globus rating 10%, individual rating 10%
An amazing professor! She's the first I truly connected with her, and she made the experience great! While the class was fully online, the in-person final exam felt odd since the midterm was online, consistent formats would help. Not her fault, though! For GLO-BUS, aim for a good group to boost your marks.
