Finance 2: Explains herself clearly and does some examples in class. 1 midterm and a final. 2 assignments... final exam was rather long, be prepared. Sujata makes you think INTUITIVELY, does not want you to just know how to fill in the formulas... this showed in the final exam.

Tough class, but we all knew that coming in. Very hard final - a lot of stuff from left field - you just gotta reason it out and not panic. Do well on the midterm and you should be ok. Don't skip this class. Sujata is very likeable and very clear. I learned a LOT in this class, if I had to do it all over again, I would take her again.

Sujata is the nicest prof if you go see her during regular office hours (dont go when its not the official hours though). She will sit there with you and literally watch you do problems, and then hold your hand if you cant do it. Final was brutal, mostly the multiple choice (know your EPS!), Keep it simple, no answer requires more than 2-3 formulas

One of the best professors (the new guy christopher parsons is also an excellent prof)... midterm was a wake up call for me ... so i nailed the final so no worry people. It's not as hard as people say if you do your job... i say out of 12-15 questions in final ... 3 big one has a little twist

Global Investment itself is not a good class... doesnt teach you much.If you want a easy class(well for me it was the average was around 70) take this class. Many interesting presentation from successful people in the market which make you skip alot of class if you just slack off... but overall, a very dull class cuz of material.Sujata is good.

Best prof at McGill ever!! She is really funny but at the same time her class is not just about jokes. She is amazing at teaching making international finance really clear and interesting. I will definitely take her class again if the opportunity comes.

She is amazing. Best prof. But beware, the material sounds easier than it is and she purposely doesn't tell you stuff that ends up being on exams. All the stuff about EPS is very important and she never mentions it in class, or barelly. You need to do very well on the midterm to do well on the course, the final is unpleasant!

Really good prof. Attendance is really important though as everything that is treated in class is on the final and nothing else. But she is interesting, funny and clear. I recommend this class (even though she's only teaching half of it, it's really worth it!)

My favorite professor at McGill, and an all-around tremendous person. Although the material can be a bit tricky (especially in the second half of the semester), she's more than willing to put in the extra time to get you to understand it. Additionally, she's a lot of fun to talk to, and she's always trying to get people to network

After the change of teacher after the midterm, everybody started coming back to class. Madan is a really good teacher, and she makes even the boring topics not seem to bad. If anyone has the option to take one of her classes, definitively do !

Fantastic teacher. Most motivating teacher since I got to McGill. She is very hands on (NO CELLPHONES + only laptops in the first row) which can annoy some people. She is not afraid to call on you to answer a question. The material is taught well and I never had a boring class.

The final exam was definitely harder than she made it out to be which bothered many people. Do the in-class problems and tutorial questions to get a good foundation of knowledge, but know that you will be sent a few major curveballs. Will bump you up if you’re close. Overall strong recommendation.

One of the best professors I've had in my entire life. She's hilarious, and makes dull material entretaining. Extremely good at explaining concepts. I've actually used my notes for other classes, as she explained the material much better. She's one of those profs that make you glad you're at McGill.

The first midterm is easy and no surprise but you will see the graders were terrible. Grading was stupid. But An excellent teacher in class, you will understand everything when she explains but maybe too easy when she explain and not enough exercises that you can do by your self, then exam are harder

Sujata is honestly one of the really good teachers at McGill. She really wants each and every one of her students to understand the course. She is able to make class the least boring and the most enjoyable. However, missing a class wouldn't be a good decision and if you don't understand something, it is best you on the spot if not you'll regret it.

Best teacher of the MBA.

Absolutely loved this class. Prof. Sujata makes you want to listen in class, especially since you're not allowed to use your laptop or phone during her lectures. She distributes printed versions of her slides before every class and makes sure you understand the material before moving on. Made me really interested in the field of corporate finance!

She is an amazing and caring teacher. She really knows her stuff and makes everything easy to understand. The only problem is that her exams are hard as hell. She really expects you to know the content inside and out AND be able to apply it. Expect a lot of surprises in the exam. Learned a lot, but my grade suffered due to the difficulty of exams.

Sujata is such a sweet and caring prof. She really cares about her students and lectures are the perfect pace. She makes sure we all have time to discuss with peers what we just learnt and the material is not heavy at all. Just go to class, do the practice assignment and exams and you're fine!

WOW. The final hit me a little hard, but managed to get that A. Besides that, she is great and I wish I had her personality. She is outgoing, happy, basically she has the required personality for top management people. She uses good techniques to help her students learn. Stay focus until the end of the course and ask tricky questions to prepare.

Might not be the best choice if you like straight-forward professors who do their job well without "human contact" with their students. For others, truly a gem. Caring, funny, knowledgeable, always accessible outside of class. She explains finance concept using silly but very clear comparisons. 100% recommend.

Great prof who cares about her students. But looking back, I don't think I learned anything. The assignments and exams didn't do a good job at testing (the little). The average was so high that we lost points for not writing the definition of a type of market EXACTLY like it was written in the notes.

Sujata is arguably the nicest person in the world. She cares so much for her students and having a class with her is kind of life changing. With that said, she kind of babies you and makes tests/assignments too easy. The average was so high there was a 6% curve. Also, the other finance prof's are more demanding, and it's a big adjustment in Fine342

Super kind and caring, really cares about her students. The only criticism is that she probably makes the class too easy, forcing her to curve people down and seemed to skip some material to the detriment of some finance majors. That said, she can make someone like finance even when they don't think they would.

One of my favourite profs at Desautels. She's super caring, her lectures are so fun, and whether you like finance or not, she makes the subject super enjoyable. She explains things in such a fun and clear manner, and makes the material seem simple. Only negative is that class average ends up being high so she had to curve everyone down 5%.

Sujata is an amazing professor... IF you don't wish to pursue a major/minor in finance. I hate to say this, but she does not prepare you for other finance classes. If you wish to study finance and learn a lot go for Vadim. If you want an easy class, meet people and have a good time go for Sujata! All love, she's honestly so sweet and inspiring.

Simplifies all concepts

She kept the class engaged, and her enthusiasm was contagious. She was truly gifted at helping me understand lessons and even stayed after class to help anyone needing extra assistance. She really cares about each student and is easy to communicate with.

She is extremely kind. However, I do agree with others; try to avoid her if you plan to take advanced finance. She puts a lot of emphasis on solving problems "the right way", but it felt like we only skimmed the actual content we were supposed to learn.She asks to work with a neighbour during class, so lectures might be painful if you hate teamwork

Easy class but our class average wasn't as high as expected! Our midterm class average was lower than Vadim's class and the average on the final was 73.4% (there is a final now!!). Caring and kind prof, she does insist on timelines a lot.

Professor Madan is sweet and makes the class easy, but it may not fully prepare you for advanced finance. Lectures can be tedious with group work. Unstuckstudy was a great study aid alongside the free textbook.

Sujata is probably a staple of Desautels. She knows every student by name, and her lectures are very interesting. Her lectures are simpler compared to the exams, so you need to make sure you study on your own a bit.

The GOAT! Professor Madan is the best professor at McGill. She cares so much for her students, and she makes class fun. I always went in with a smile, because I knew it would be a great time! Finance can be challenging, but she breaks down concepts so you understand the “why” behind everything you learn. McGill is so fortunate to have her.

Sujata's lectures are pure gold! She prepares you for the finance world, teaches you the actual reasoning behind stuff instead of just showing formulas, and her courses are such a good time! She knows her students' names, her tests are very fair, and it is very clear she cares deeply. If I could take her for every class, I would!

Sujata is a great prof. She loves her students and cares about them, and makes the 8am class not feel so bad. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand and provides a lot of exercises for them. HOWEVER, the midterm and final are WAY more difficult than the practice she gives us, and I dont feel prepared from just the class and textbook.
