I took the 5 week summer course. Dr. Mondal presented the course material to us with explanation instead of making us rely soley on the book. It is possible to get an A or B. Review, review, review the video lectures and you will do fine. The extra credit and lowest grade dropped, helped me.

Professor Mondal is an amazing instructor. He takes plenty of time to explain the concept to his students. He replies email promptly. He gives bonus point and extra credit, this will boost your grade greatly. The lowest quiz gets dropped. If you do your homework and practice your quizzes very well, the finals will be so so so easy. Dr. Mondal is clear on what he is grading. Every week we had a pre-lab, lab report, and quiz on the corresponding lab we did from the manual. He goes over theory concepts in class so that we further understand what's going on in the experiment. He is also very understanding of what may be going on in your life. He replies fast to emails. I took professor Mondal for gen chem lab. Professor Mondal is the best science professor I've taken so far in college. I thought this class would be very fast-paced and hard to manage, but the professor's lectures are very thought-provoking and not just read off a textbook. I took Dr. Mondal's lab class (on-campus); he is truly one of the most caring and knowledgeable professors at HCC. His instructions were unambiguous, and he made sure we understood the material interactively before moving forward to the next chapter. He also responds to emails very quickly. Professor Mondal cares about students. If you show him that you are interested and participate, he will help you. You just have to ask. This was an online class which it was already difficult but he gives powerpoints and assignments (hws) which helps in the tests and final. He also answer emails quickly and gives webex appt if you have questions.

1 quiz every week, one of which was dropped. 1 homework assignment every week and a final towards the end. His quizzes/exam are monitored using Respondus. He gives you feedback/corrections on homework & tells you what to study. As long as you try, he will give you bonus points for participating AND an extra credit assignment which he extends.

Professor Sujit Mondal is a very easy professor to relate with. I took him over the Summer (online anytime) and more than enough material was provided to teach the class. This is Online Anytime so you have to prepare yourself to read lots and he also included the recordings of the Spring semester that he taught. Plus gives lots of extra credit :)

Had Dr. Mondal in a 5 week summer semester and he was a great professor. The 5 week semester made the course more difficult, but Dr. Mondal provided us with many resources to use in order to properly learn the material. I chose this professor for chem 2423. Doing the homework and reviewing the PowerPoint before the exam, you will get an A. Mr. Mondal answered questions patiently. He would also remove the lowest score test and give us extra points and bonuses. Strongly recommend!

To understand what's going on in lab, read his background notes. There will be times when you'll stay the full 3 hours and maybe more, just learn to manage your time in lab. Make sure you complete all of his assignments and quizzes because it might help you at the very end. Study the resources given for his final and you should be good.

This class is an easy A. All exams are very simple and straight from what he taught you. He is very understanding and the only homework you have is to finish the labs and they are very easy. He is my favorite professor and I would definitely take him again.

I was skeptical about Professor Sujit Mondal, he could be intimidating at times. His labs are fun he is pretty straight forward and blunt. Pay attention to the labs and do your work. If you ask him for an extension he will give you one just communicate with him and don't make yourself look like a fool. Chemistry is a tough course so do your best!

I would take Professor Mondal again to get a better grade in his class. I had family distractions to where I could not focus this previous semester completely as I would have liked in his class as well as my other class.

I took Professor Mondal for a summer organic chemistry course. His lectures are really good; he gives information in the easiest way to understand. He's funny and willing to help all his students. He is a good professor especially if chemistry is not your favorite subject. He makes things easy for his students (does not mean you don't have to study). I took Chem II and Organic chemistry I from professor Mondal. These courses are tough courses and hard to make everyone understand everything well. However professor Mondal is the best at making hard things to easy to understand. He never makes us do anything we can't handle, and very generous about assignments as long as we can truly learn things.

Mr. Mondal is a wonderful professor who knows what he's doing! I took chem 1412 during the fall semester. I was dealing with some family issues, and he was very understanding and supportive. Chem 1412 requires your time, so be ready to put in time. Also, Professor is good at responding to emails quickly.

Dr. Mondal made Ochem controlable. He takes time to explain the details of the lectures, and your questions as well. Labs are pretty easy and reports too. He also gave good reviews for exams, and extra credit at the end of the semester. Recommend taking him for Ochem, but of course, you have to work hard to fully understand the materials.

Professor has a clear grading criteria. He gave 5 quizzes from which he only selected top three scores. His homework and class lectures were very important for final exam. Attendance is not mandatory; however, if you even miss a single lecture, it will be a loss on your end as his lectures cover a lot of learning lessons. It was a good experience.

I'll give him credit he knows his subject but you can't come into to class with a bad foundation or you will barely survive. His tests are tough if you don't have the textbook or other ways to practice the material. Lectures were hard to understand half of the time. 3 Homework assignments, plenty of extra credit. 4 exams + the final. Exam reviews were somewhat vague, just a list of topics to go over. Textbook is optional. Must to study to pass exams.

There are ALWAYS a few negative reviews, but don't let it distract you. This is a great professor. I had him for Chem 2, organic chemistry, and I'm taking him for organic chemistry 2. Take this teacher, it's getting more rare to see a professor not jaded by snotty students. I've been improving so much since I first had him.

he was a good person and exams included only things he lectured abt. However, his lectures were hard for me to understand so I studied by myself for some topics. he gave lots of extra credit and is kind if you email him.

Professor Mondal is a really good professor who cares about his students success and teaches the class very well. I took him for Chem 1412 and Organic Chemistry 1, his exams are difficult however if you prepare and study very well from his reviews and notes, you should be fine. He's always willing to help students succeed so TAKE HIM!

Professor Mondal is passionate about what he teaches and tries to help out students any way he can. Previously, I did not have a good experience with Chemistry, but with Dr. Mondal, I had an easy time. He explained everything in detail and was willing to help whenever I needed it. The lectures were heavy, so I would recommend going to class and being attentive. He was also very interactive when it came to labs and other questions.

Dr Mondal is great, I took him fall 2025 and it went good, he goes out of his way to make sure his students are prepared and is very lenient. I asked him to give me extra time on the lab reports and he did it without any tension. He definitely knows his stuff and his lectures are interesting if you pay close attention.

He's super understanding and chill. I def recommend for first semester, easy way to ease into the course!

Dr. Mondal is very nice and laid back. He gives every opportunity for questions and checks for understanding. He gives extra credit and wants you to succeed in his class. He takes attendance. Very knowledgeable about subject matter. You must put in work outside of class reading material and doing homework.

Dr. Mondal is THE BEST chemistry professor EVER! He gives very quick responses to my emails and he is very generous on giving extra! He is also a very humorous guy. I enjoyed taking his class this semester!

Professor Sujit, is well grounded. He relates chemistry with our environment and that deepens our understanding. Making an 'A' in General Chemistry is very easy if you follow the review questions and do your homework.

One of the best teachers I've had. Very considerate and down to earth. The energy is amazing and I definitely recommend taking all your Chem classes with this professor. Self improvement is contagious. This kind of material can be complicated, yet the teacher doesn't mind explaining it over several times and reviewing which helps tremendously.

I've had this professor since chem1, He's the best professor I've ever had.course is clear organized. He makes it easy to learn gchem and organic mechan. I have taken Dr. Mondal class since Ochem 1 and regret not finding him earlier. He's always trying his best to make the class as easy as possible by explaining the topics in detail, so don't be afraid of asking questions. The tests are fair and similar to the examples from class so attendance is a must.

Prof Mondal is a great example of a great professor I failed ochem 1 twice before taking him but when I took it with him it was the very first time I actually understood the material and I gave it a try for ochem 2 and he still managed to be a great prof who is always willing to help and provides a great reviews for the exam to be fully prepared.

I took Dr. Mondal in summer '25 for orgo 1 and enjoyed his class so much that I took him again for orgo 2 during fall '25. I had failed orgo 1 at UH main so I was desperate for a C by the time I got to his class. Not only did I manage to get an A, but I found chemistry fun again because of him so it is safe to say that he really is great a prof.

I have taken Professor Mondal for Organic Chemistry parts 1 and 2. Both courses were very concept heavy but he does explain everything and will answer questions! He gives lots of extra credit as well. Beware of the homework on Cengage, it takes a long time to do because the software is clunky.

What truly sets him apart is how much he genuinely cares about his students. He consistently works to ensure that everyone stays on track and feels supported throughout the course. He pays close attention to student progress and is always willing to adjust his approach if he sees that students are struggling. If you want to succeed take his class.

I took Professor Mondal for 2 Semester and would take him again if possible, the class is definitely a harder class but if you ask he's always willing to help and explain any difficult topics. You definitely have to apply time to studying but it definitely pays off in the end. Attend every class if possible. especially test review days!
