AVOID, his lectures are boring, he goes of the topic in every class and he is the toughest grade, save your money don't take his class.
Worst teacher ever
Nothing personal he is a good person. but I strongly believe he needs to retire, he doesn't need to teach. his style not ordered, off topic. doesn't spare time for extra practices so you'll be shocked at the exam with his questions. a lot of breaks & wasting time. my GPA is 3.5 I study hard its the first time I had to drop. strongly NOT recommended
His lecture basically is that he scribbles his notes on the paper and students copying his notes. I highly doubt if he knows how to use a computer. NEVER upload anything on the blackboard, not even a syllabus.
Bruh just drops this class. Unless you can read pink scribbles on a white piece of paper.
Hes okay at teaching but he always talks about his own life and how much he likes his chai latte tea. Hes tests are very. Almost everyone failed the midterm and final was relatively hard. He also keeps talking about pod. He barely responds to emails and only way to reach him is when hes in campus.
No clear grading criteria, talks nonsense in the class, goes out of syllabus very often, talks rubbish about a community, throws personal comments on students. If you have a alternate instructor never take class from him. He will not grade you on your comprehensive marks, will only consider final exam marks worth 100%.
This prof is teaching to get free medical insurance. he doesn't need to work at all. he has other business. he doesn't have time for you folks don't waste your time & money. I graduated with an honor GPA 3.5. with him, it was the most horrible experience of an instructor. DC should lay him off. don't gv u time, no practice, what can I say. skip him
This is the worst prof I've ever had. Do not take his class unless someone has a gun to your head.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. JUST DON'T.
Doesnt know how to explain where he gets things from. basically just reads from the textbook. doesnt give you time to write things down.
lectures were always interesting. only graded the class on one midterm and one final, which were both all multiple choice.
Goes off on so many tangents you won't know what to actually pay attention to, asks the vaguest questions on test yet wants very specific answers, lectures are very jumbled, jumping from chapter to chapter, yet when try to read the chapter barely any will relate to your notes, he's a nice guy but that doesn't mean you're a good teacher
this professor is terrible. but if u have to take him u can pass. read the textbook, do practice questions and teach yourself. sometimes he actually teaches but that's rare. if u can teach urself youll do fine, but beware of the first midterm almost everyone fails & then your final will be worth 100% of ur grade. best of luck
Prepare to work your ass off. Suki is a nice guy, but he doesn't hold anyone's hand. He presents the material in weekly lectures and he really knows his stuff, but he can get sidetracked by stories about his business or what kind of tea he made that morning. It's up to you to figure out how to apply the information for questions. Study Study Study.
Don't take his class. Just don't.
Worst professor ever.
He only cared about coming to work that pays him for talking to class about his nonsense stories. I've learned more of Musk's and other billionaires' net worths than the topic itself. I don't get his humour at all, he makes personal remarks on students which I find rude and judgmental. I had to self-study for the entire course just to pass.
%50 of the class is about his personal life. He is never responding to your emails. He is never posting anything on Blackboard until the final week. You will never know about your grades. He is only sitting and writing something on paper and projecting it, impossible to read tho. Almost half of the class dropped the first week.
NEVER TAKE THIS PROFESSOR UNTIL ITS A DIE SITUATION. never responds to emails. grade on the basis of final exam. racissist. talks about everything but not lectures. I don't know why douglas college is playing with our futures by having such professors. I studies alot for this course but I was crying in exam. makes finals from no where.
Good if you want to learn about real life applications Not easy credit
Great time to have taken money and banking class. Everyday something about canada or America or world were discussed
Does a good job explaining inflation and recession. Make us understand what is going on in our economy.
Everyday he would bring in a new news story about real estate or stock market or interest rates Recession and inflation coming Govt policy Learned a lot
If you want to learn about what happening in the real world this is the class for you. Expects a lot out of the students. Then applies to real life.
Writing is messy. Lectures are great. Need to read ahead. He applies theory to real life and expect you to have some basic knowledge from readings.
Lectures are heavy. Read book ahead of class. Then all makes sense.
This class was all about news paper headlines. Read the book and do questions Test from end of chapter questions.
Be prepared to work. Read read and do questions from book.
Makes classss fun and entertaining but expects work and preparation
Tough grader but fun classes
Good classes
Explains world economics and Canadian economics well
I found him to be very encouraging and motivating. It was really up us to do the work and the questions were from the book that he would assign weekly. If you do the work you will do well.
Applies to real world. Knows his economic and other important world trend and brings them to the classroom.
I did not do well but learned a lot. Suki applies the book to news events. Everyday brings in something from his news wire and discusses in class.
Gives students second chances on exams to do better. Redo the exam
horrible and lazy. provdies no lecture slides and does not prepare you for exams at all!!
Test very similar to end of chapter questions. Lectures applies to everyday news. He a couple of tough questions to check how well you really understand
Good guy. Cares about students. Lots of real life examples. Only for those that want to learn.
Very interesting lectures especially the start of class where he brings in markets and world events.
Gave the class a rewrite to perform better and gave us all bonus for the rewrite. Still very difficult but bent over backwards to help students that attended
Please rethink about taking an Econ class with him, No lecture slides, no clear grade distribution, didn't upload anything on blackboard. He was nice enough to let everyone redo their midterm, but honestly, this is just another sign that he is a poor instructor. His lectures were pretty mundane, and he wasted time talking about irrelevant details.
He followed the book closely. There were no slides handed out but if you read the book it was straight forward. Does bring in a ton of real life bank of canada and the American banks into the classroom. Up to each of us to read and get an understanding of what is going on
The midterm exam questions were from end of chapter questions. He did tell everyone to do those and if you did you did well. If not then you got. C like me
Great prof.
Brought in real life examples and stories at the start of each class. Talks about current event. I enjoyed his sharing of the banking situation.
You need to be motivated and work He guides well with real life examples and stories Have your book and notes read before class Helps
His character is hard to understand
No notes or ppt but only his roughly hand writing during the class. Never reply email and no answer for the questions in textbook. Self study for the whole course.
Great real life discussion Daily update on canada and USA economies
As long as you stay on top of your reading lectures are a great review and applicable
Read before class and do questions and ask questions All tests are from text and lectures
Lots of terms and notations but easy once you get the basics
His sense of humour is a bit dry but lectures are current and relevant. Very topical Paces and understands when class is lost and will talk about current event to bring all back. I would recommend
Excellent
Inspiration Reality
You need to read a lot of time and do self study. He just gives 2quizzes for 10% each and 40% each on midterm and finals. Uses powerpoints and teaches so fast. Tracking your grade is so difficult bec. he gives chance to rewrite our answers on midterm but don't know if he really did add credits to them. Exams are so difficult!
Expect to learn by yourself and don't believe a word he says about quizes/exams. He swore certain questions we did in class were word for word in the quiz and literally none of the questions were on it. Upcoming midterm he claimed he'd try to make it mostly MC but day before got an email that its only 25% MC. No practice questions just 7 chapters.
Tough class lots of homework questions but if you do them the test is a repeat of those questions.
Do not take him. Take soloym or literally anyone else. Extremely unprofessional.
PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND JUST DO NOT TAKE HIM. IT WILL TANK YOUR GPA
an absolute joke. if I could give a negative rating I would. not only does he not ever check his emails, but he never posts anything online indicating what is due or what your current grade is in the class. his lectures are often irrelevant and the exams are so difficult! its amazing how bad of a teacher you can be and still have a job.
Suki is probably the worst professor I've had at Douglas College. He's late to class and does not communicate with the class at all. He barely teaches or even completes lectures, and his lack of teaching makes the 2 tests we have incredibly difficult. I would avoid Suki and i would not recommend this class with him.
Suki constantly switches our in person classes to online or just cancels them, he never gave us the link for the textbook so we had to spend extra money for a separate textbook that doesn't have solutions for the questions, doesn't respond to any emails, assigns random chapters for the exams last minute ( sometimes less than 1 day before the exam)
Don't take this professor from student to student, he has horrible communication, doesn't respond to any emails, assigns random chapters for the tests, and does not mark effectively ( 3 people in the class said the same answer for a T/F question yet all got different marks.
Ignore the positive reviews!
How on earth is this guy still employed?
Good luck lol
Never take any class with this professor. He is very unreliable and doesn't even lecture. He only makes us complete the end-of-chapter questions and share them with the class; he doesn't teach anything. Prepare a lot to self-study.
read and if you do the questions from end of book he picks from book
He assigns questions and then repeats on the tests. Do the questions otherwise fail.
I don't recommend this teacher. He doesn't really teach and exams are so difficult. He asks what he hasn't taught. Yes, maybe they are in the textbook, but I believe at least he should have explained them in class. Even after you do all the questions, you cannot check if your answers are right because he doesn't go over them.
I have no clue where my grade came from, he seems to just mark things randomly with no answer key. He did not send us the link to the textbook and canceled lectures frequently, it is very hard to thrive in his class as a student, if you ask him a question he will typically brush you off, stay away!
I personally do not know how a professor like this is still teaching being in his class was an absolute nightmare, he does not respond to emails, will make the tests a different format or just add different chapters we did not go over last minute, late to every single lecture, cancels lectures frequently. I would take an alternative professor.
Get ready to read all pages in the textbook. Good thing is, if you get bad grades for the tests and midterm, your final exam grade become your overall grade and you can save your self. However, the exams are very hard. Better know why AD curve downward slopping.
I think his style is for student to self teach. Lots of questions
Read the book. Do the questions. Test from his class discussions and end of chapter questions. Word for word.
Read the book Read notes He does questions from the book Test questions same as book Talks about current events
Read read End of chapter questions very important Test same as questions Encouraging
In my experience, all students received unprofessionalism from Suki Badh. He takes his retainers in front of all, always late, doesn't give updated course and test outlines, inconsistent class schedules, messy test marks, inaccessible out of class, didn't even give book access for the WHOLE term. Douglas College should do something about this.
Follow his lectures and discussion in class. Let's everyone know where the questions for exams come from. Read book follow lectures do questions he assigns. Will get you a good grade. He went over exam by getting class to open the book and pointing to questions from book that showed up on tests.
Listen to lectures he tells you questions for exams and answers Still makes you work hard and jump through hoops
Don't believe students wrote the positive reviews. Had him Winter 2024. Unprofessional, always late, unorganized, and uninspiring. Wastes time discussing his own personal life. Decided to withdraw to save my GPA. Was one semester from completing my program and he has by far been the worst teacher I have experienced. Stay away if you can.
So far the class is interesting and not boring. Lectures seem organized and book is a bit boring to read. He uses examples we can understand One test and it was straight forward doing homework questions helped
Great lectures. Follows text. Gives clues on questions. Gives breaks during lectures by talking about current events.
Had one test so far. Questions were from notes and textbook. Applies to current economic events. Talks about news quite a bit.
Suki doesn't care about students. He makes inappropriate comments in class and doesn't make everyone feel equally respected or important. He is very self absorbed and arrogant making for a negative learning environment.
Gave us the first test. Showed us where the questions came from. Textbook and notes. Gave us an opportunity to do better. Very tough and very fair
Handed back the first test. Questions came from notes and book. Highlighted the pages and questions. Allowed the class a redo. Very tough and I would say very fair. Very caring guy and very ants his classes to do well.
Told us that we would have an opportunity to make up the tests we didn't do well on but it never really happened. The way he grades, there is no way to hold him to his word or tell if he is being fair. I feel like all I learned about was his personal life and opinions. He should spend more time helping the students understand what will be tested.
Suki is unorganized and unfocused. I am struggling to grasp the concepts and his grading system is random and unclear. He is scattered and seems to favour certain people over others. Being an international student matters to him and that impression is strongly given.
The fact that the reviews for this teacher are pretty much a 50/50 split... either the absolute best or worst... is a red flag. All these positive reviews are not really written by students, guaranteed. My entire class agreed, this instructor is awful. Anyone else I have spoken to that has taken his classes have told me the same thing. BEWARE.
Didn't respond to emails and trying to decipher his lessons can be a challenge. What is and isn't important...who knows. Assigned odd questions for every chapter and gave no answer key. When it came time to go over the answers he said we should be doing the even questions, too. Don't believe the positive reviews, he is awful.
Great prof. Amazing lectures and current events.
Good class
I did not do the readings. Just attended classes and looked over the notes. Pulled a C.
Great lectures. Real life applications. Gives benefit of doubt to students. Gives you more chances to do well.
Gives students chances to do better if student messed up. Caring.
Gives examples from USA and canada financial problems. Class interesting. Tests are challenging.
Suki Badh is really bad. He doesn't provide enough teaching support to learn. He is always late and leaves class early. Not worth the money.
If you take Suki class get ready to read the entire textbook. Pretty much self studied the entire time.
Suki is so unprofessional! I don't know how he is still working at Douglas.
Suki spends too much time talking about his personal life and thinks that it is something the students enjoy. More time teaching would be a better use of our money. On top of that he is always late for class and leaves early. You wont get your moneys worth in this class.
He is an absolute joke! Bruh is the worst teacher at Douglas
The worst!
This instructor has very strong personal opinions that he brings to the classroom. This is not the way to teach students. His personal opinions shouldn't be apart of our learning.
Suki is difficult to learn from. He is very unorganized and impossible to get a hold of outside of classes.
Lots of trick questions on tests, doesn't set you up for success.
I am taking his class now and wish I wasn't. He is so unorganized and always late for class. Students don't feel respected if you can't even be on time. He is a tough grader and added last minute work right before the test. Not really a fair chance to succeed...
This course really isn't that difficult if you read the text book and self study. Attendance is mandatory because you need to go to class to communicate with the instructor. Suki is not much help outside of class. His lectures are confusing, too. I use Khan Academy to help grasp the concepts and it has worked for me so far this semester.
Good lectures. Notes.
Taking the class now. Very fair. On time. Lectures organized. Gives students chances to do well. Great teacher.
Sukhi went over questions. Told the class where to focus on for tests. So far very good
Took his class last year. Great lectures. Great examples. I would take him again.
Went to all classes. Test from notes. Not as hard as it looks. Easy guy to talk to. And gets along with all his students.
Sukhi told us to read. The book and ask questions. Very good communicator.
Good lectures and great classes.
Love the class. Lots of things to remember. Need to work otherwise tough
Fun class Lots of readings Lots of howmork questions
Great lectures. Enjoyable class
If you do the reading a look at the questions you will be fine. I did the homework and went and saw suki He was very helpful. Told me what to focus on.
Best class ever.
If you want to learn economics take sukhi
Highly recommended
Took three classes with suki. Loved all of them. Great guy. Caring and wants us to learn.
Classes are fun and easy to follow.
I am taking this class right now. His grading structure makes no sense and he isn't helping me grasp the concepts. I'm thinking about dropping to save my GPA.
Totally bombed his test! What he teaches and what is tested... He needs to be more clear. Dude makes it harder than it needs to be.
Classes are boring unless you like listening to the instructor talking about himself for 3 hours. Get ready to read the entire text with this teacher.
1.5 months in and I regret choosing Suki. This class doesn't seem like it would be difficult but it is made harder with this instructor. The positive reviews are deceiving.... Don't trust them.
Tests are what he did in class.
He went over questions last week that helped
Same questions on test as he went over from end of chapter last week.
Good lectures. Good notes. Reviews the end of chapter questions. Prepared us for the test well.
Would take him again
I had this teacher last semester and must share my horrible experience to try and spare others. Suki was the absolute worst teacher I have had at Douglas. Being almost finished my program I read the good reviews and thought he would be a good choice. Sadly mistaken. His personal and harmful opinions are brought to the classroom, it's concerning...
Did the questions and read the book. No surprises on tests. He tells you what he will ask.
Attended class. Test from notes. Reviewed the notes. He told us which questions he will ask.
Positive reviews were written by himself....
Sukhvinder pretends to care but his actions speak louder than words. I am trying my best to copy down notes from his very messy lectures but there is no way of knowing what will be on the tests. I have a 3.8 GPA and am failing with this teacher. I have to withdraw and that's money wasted. The positive reviews on here seem to be not real.
This teacher is awful. Material is better learned on your own. He is dishonest about what will be on the test with lots of trick questions. Who cares about his life stories. They have absolutely nothing to do with Micro economics. I keep waiting for him to bring it back to the subject at hand but nope! Grades make no sense. Worst Econ teach here!
This guy is a joke. Tried to ask for help but he brushed me off. Tests are so hard. He expects us to do all the textbook questions but never gives us the answer key. His lectures are hard to follow. Have to speed write notes while he talks. Best advise, choose a different Econ teacher.
Not as hard as it seems. Asked a few calculations. Be prepared for that
Found it to be. Fun. And enjoyable
Challenge but doable. Fast paced. Math
Went over the questions in class. Same stuff on test.
Easy fun class
I would take this class and this teacher again.
This is a very hard class. Money is better spent with a different teacher. Suki is a dreadful teacher.
pretty sure the reviews are fake, if you read them they sound AI used to boost his rating. he always brushes of questions and makes fun of students, I had emailed him multiple times with questions and he does not answer them clearly. his lectures are unclear, yaps about his life, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF he is the worst one I've ever had at Douglas
You have to go to class because he is the worst with notes and PowerPoints. Half of what he shows you...don't waste space in your brain. Trying to take note during lectures is a total nightmare....might as well just bring a tape recorder. You will have to sift through the hours of boring personal stories that have nothing to do with Econ
This page has a pattern of publishing an obscene amount of + reviews around the time when students are prepping for registration and practically no good reviews outside of then. Highly sus. That is the only way Mr. Badh can trick students into taking his class. If you ask one of his victims you will know why...
This teacher doesn't care about his students.
Grading criteria is different and seemingly hopeful but there was no way to tell if he actually applied what he promised. He writes most notes on the board, I had to take a lot of pictures. I thought I would really like economics but this teacher is uninspiring.
Knows what he is talking about.
Good notes on board and follows book.
He is giving students every chance to do well.
I like the class. Fun. Current. Topical.
I can't believe how bad he is. How has he made it this long? Take this class if you want to be insulted and confused. This course is already very hard and having a bad prof like Suki is like crashing into a flaming ditch.
All positive reviews are written by himself!
Rude and never responds when you need help. He wastes time when he is late and doesn't respect the students. Why would he possibly want to be a teacher, he isn't very good at it.
I had a lot of optimism for taking Sukis class for the first time and was excited to learn more about economics. He has made me hate the subject after A's in both micro and macro. Super bummed.
Great in class discussions current events
He is giving the class chance to do better each test. Good lectures.
Pleasant in the class room. Very honest with students. Discusses real life situations and experiences. Could learn a lot if
I would take this prof and his classes anytime. Great guy. He has tons of real world experience and knowledge. I wish he would share that a bit more.
Notes on power point and lectures Tears are a bit tricky Pushes students and makes it fun
Great class. Lectures fast and applied to current world news.
Sukhi is enthusiastic when teaching and is clearly knowledgeable in economics. However his lectures focus more on his many personal anecdotes rather than the course material. You would learn more and quicker reading the textbook on your own and checking stuff online. Just study the textbook and you will be fine with the exams and quizzes.
Follows book. Questions end of ch important. Good applications. Clear notes.
Went over questions and answers. Prepare me for final. Told us all questions to focus on for final
Worked on questions and answers Told us they types of questions on final Good semester so far.
Fun class. Lots of howework in the second half. No surprise for the final. Did what he told us he would.
Attending helps. Gives questions and answers. In class.
I would take this prof again for another class.
Basically gave the class the questions for the final.
Went into the final with lower grade. Told me if I ace the final he will give me an A.
After majority failed the midterm, he said our final grade would cover it making it worth 90% of our grade. Lectures don't cover the material greatly. If you want to learn better, read the textbook yourself (can be found online) and do the questions. Does not respond to emails (i sent 5), highly inaccessible outside of class. Tbf find another prof.
He was very helpful. Made us do lots of work and them went through all the questions. Helped for the final
Was getting a c going into the final. Pulled out a B. Doing homework helped.
makes lectures really by quickly
Told the class the questions to study and asked those questions. Straight forward
Went into final almost failing came out with an A
If I could give a 0 I would. Dont waste your time. He is awful. His teaching style is awful. Acts like Max Amini the entire lecture and is so off topic.I got fooled by the good reviews.
I like this subject but not because of Suki's teaching. His grading structure make zero sense... His way to make up for mediocre teaching.
He basically lists the questions and main points
Take good notes. Listen to his questions. He tells you which one are good test questions.
Straight forward lectures and test
worst prof ever. doesn't reply to emails, doesn't use blackboard, doesn't have good lectures, doesn't care about students, I decided to drop him and take this course with a different professor instead. he admitted once he's been in trouble with the school board and there is a reason why: its because he is a terrible prof. DONT TAKE HIM! waste time
Lectures from the book. Gives power point to read. Tests from the book. Can pass just by reading. Lectures are fun and interesting.
Test from the book. Have us the power points. And answers to questions.
Straight forward. Lectures from book and tests from book.
Book and notes will be enough to score B
His teaching style did not help me learn. We had to do all the learning ourselves and come with completed homework to teach each other. Suki is also very hard to reach outside of class. I even had to work around him to gain access to the textbook. He's quite knowledgeable and I don't doubt he's a good person. Perhaps teaching isn't for him though.
Everything on test from class and text
Made us do all the questions from the end of each chapter. Not easy to get a hold of outside hours. Very knowledgeable
It was a lot of work. Cannot leave til last minute. Prof was more than fair. Gave us chance to do well Encourage all to do questions. Gave same questions on test
Makes you work.
He drops lots of hints on questions on test.
Mr. Badh's lectures and overall course structure are not properly planned and incoherent. He's a tough marker and doesn't provide exact dates for exams until two weeks before, he quickly changes his mind of which material to test, and so students don't have a clear idea of what to study, and he voices his political opinions in every class.
Inaccessible outside class, lectures are boring, rambles a lot about irrelevant topics, tests are graded arbitrarily. If you are new to economics in general avoid at ALL costs.
Suki doesn't try to make the content easy and accessible. His explanations are unclear and messy. Don't take if you want to get a good grade; he was telling the class: the average for the tests is 40-60%. He was late almost all the time. He talks A LOT about his family and his health during the class every week instead of teaching.
Suki is knowledgeable, but his teaching and communication were major issues.Emails went unanswered, lectures were offtopic, and tests didn't match what was taught.Over 70% of the class failed the midterm. The course needs clearer instruction, better support, and proper alignment. Many struggled to keep up in class. I would highly recommend avoiding him.
He uses board and power points Take notes on PowerPoints Questions from end of chapter Hands out answers Go over both
Lot covered in the last half Lot of readings He knows his stuff but too much readings
Bad at explaining concepts he doesn't personally struggle with. Also interrupted every class MULTIPLE times to text, go off on irrelevant tangents, or discuss sports. COMPLETELY unreachable by email and no chance to review tests if you missed the in-class review session. Honestly can learn the material just as well online with slides/textbook. BAD!
Read book. Do questions.
Suki is very disorganized. He decides test dates and subjects on the fly and doesn't even remember what he decided on. He doesn't use Blackboard for announcements or to post grades (I never found out my mark on the midterm or second term test). Took his class because of the positive reviews but if you compare them they're all suspiciously similar.
Suki is the WORST professor I have ever had. His lectures are chaotic and poorly prepared, grading is arbitrary with no transparency. He wastes class time on irrelevant personal stories, does not properly post grades on Blackboard, and ignores student emails. The 5 star reviews are clearly manipulated and do not represent real student experiences.
the worst prof i've taken so far. guys, don't believe good reviews, they are fake. there is NO way he is good at teaching. Suki doesn't care about students' understanding the subject. all he cares about is his personal stories that he tells us every class instead of proper teaching.
Suki is definitely not the best option among other profs
Suki is knowledgeable about economics but doesn't explain the topics well, his lectures were just reading from the power point. If you can learn from reading the textbook, you should be fine. If you want a teacher that gives in-depth lectures and expands on concepts, I would suggest a different prof. First class I've ever failed.
Firstly, there is no concept of teaching and learning in sukhi's class. If you need good grade, you have to study everything on your own. You are just paying fee to study on your own. He just talk about political things and he is biggest trump fan. He gives his own political opinion in every class. He also talk about his family. Worstprofessor ever
worst experience i've had do NOT take suki's class. his lectures are extremely unorganized, he comes to class late, unprepared and wastes time talking about personal stories. lectures hardly cover necessary topics and are not helpful for textbook questions. he doesn't use blackboard, so there is not clarity on your grades throughout the course.
