pretty easy class, but she is somewhat boring
she is boring. every class u get at least one assignment. she teaches clearly though, better pay attention
No Comments
Explains material very well. Let's you know up front what's expected of you and doesn't deviate. Goes over homework questions-very helpful. Open to your questions always. Goes step-by-step-easy to follow. Sets you up for success.
omg do not take this teacher, she really does not know anything she is saying. most confusing class ever.
This teacher doesn't really know how to teach math.Everyday of her lecture, she always messed up on the board and everyday we had to correct her.I do recommend taking Nancy Evans but not with McCleave. She won't give any office hours either.
Sooooo Boring!! Every class she just talks and talks. I cant remember which day is whch with her, they all blend together.

I think she is a really good teacher and her class is super easy. She is really nice and will help you with anything. She is really clear and makes sure that she goes over everything so that we understand!! She gives you chances too if you need them!!!
The professor is very good, the comments you read, i assure you, are coming from people that blame their failure on professors, im right on the edge now, but i still think shes a great professor, unbelievably cute. she drops ur lowest test and quiz grade, will give u extra help if you need it, answers all questions, and goes step by step, what more?
Too succeed with this professor you must be a self-learner. If math is not your strong subject, pick a different professor. She is nice but at times treats the class as if they are children.
Avoid this teacher if math is a difficult subject for you. Very confusing way of teaching.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER....If you want to go back to high school go for it but she treats the class like kids and can't teach a thing. She talks about her kids just to make sure we stay till 10:23 every day STAY AWAY DON'T SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU
she has u take a lot of notes theres a lot of information to cover but they help if u do all the hw youll do good on the quizzes. if u need help just ask her and she is more than willing to help. she gives out study guides for each test. i think shes a great teacher esp if math isnt ur strongest subject she helps u understand.
shes a good teacher. i learned mostly from the book. i got a b in the class and it was the first time ive been in school in two years and before that i was never any good in math. shes young so she musnt have been teaching for all that long and im sure she'll get better with a little more time
Sumaya is an extremely good and experienced teacher. She will go over any problem, and will honestly help any student to the fullest extent. Although if you don't pay attention and take notes, you'll probably fail the class.
She is nice. She helps the students when they need help. One day, I went to find her and asked her questions about the hw, she was patient to teach me. She really helps me a lot. I get good grade in this class. She is a good professor.
Lots of notes in class, really not my style of teaching, can't pay attention if all they do is write on the board, not a bad teacher if you can take that though. Good with study guides, one before each test.
Not on par with other Profs. She really does teach the class like it's at a high school. I math is not your strong suite DO NOT take her!
Lets just say I got alot of reading done in her class, and it wasnt from the textbook. Instead of abbreviating anything or summarizing paragraphs she chooses to write the entire thing out on the board. We could have been through the entire book if she didnt waste her time writing on the board. Plus there are alot of typos on her tests.
I thought she graded fairly easy. Quizes every tuesday on the two lectures before hand. 11 quizes throughout the semester, 1 is dropped. 4 tests, 1 is dropped. Then you have a cum. final which is difficult but all formulas are given to you for the test and final. Teaches straight from book. on't have to do homework. Alot of notes taken off board
very hard to understand, either talks very slow or very fast. sees very unsure or unconfident in herself which doesnt help when you are trying to understand the criteria. not the best teaching strategy. nice person but just hard to understand.
This class isn't easy but she's a great teacher. She also took her time go over my questions during office hours. If you pay attention do your homework and take notes you'll do well.
Doesn't teach well, goes too fast and doesnt explain well. Most of our class dropped by the end of the semester. She did drop the lowest test and quiz score and gave handouts with the formulas on them. Grades tests hard and hw doesnt count for actual points. She's nice but maybe shouldnt teach. Needed this class to transfer and she still failed me.
As long as you give her your undivided attention and take good notes during the lecture, as in writing every single thing she writes on the board, you are good to go. Do ALL the assigned homework, because the tests and quizzes are pretty much like the homework. She's really nice, and will answer all your questions.
Best math teacher ever! Wish I could keep her for the next level! I have never gotten higher than a D in math and now i have a A!! TAKE NOTES! Answer her questions and do the problems with her on the bored. She drops the lowest test and quiz grade. If you do the hw the quiz is super easy! one point for each hw but you can get 15extra credit!TAKE IT
Professor McCleave is a very sweet teacher. The class is really easy to get an A in. If you come to class and take notes and do your homework the quizes and tests are way easy. Just go to class and do the work and it is an easy A!
I took intermediate algebra with her, and this class was such a pain! The lectures were a full two hours or so, and very hard to sit through. When questions were asked, she would often just repeat the same explanation instead of trying a different teaching approach. There were quizzes all the time, too. Not reccommended!
Before really apprehensive about taking this class because my math was horrible, but I ended up getting an A grade because she was such a great teacher. If you take NOTES and do your homework, I can't see how anyone couldn't get an A. She's a good teacher, you just have to put some effort into it.
this class requires a lot of your attention if you are not a math person! she teaches really fast and moves on quickly. if you need more help i suggest getting a tutor.
Very fast pace, speeds through the lessons. Hard to take notes because she moves so fast and will erase the board shortly after writing things. Weekly quizs.
tests arent hard and she lets you drop two quizzes. Nice person and easy to approach. She's easier than all the other 3b professors at sc and you will understand the material. she is a bit fast paced but who isn't? Average grades last semester were around 80% but more than half the class dropped. know your trig! Def. recommend
Really nice person. her test are pretty straight forward. One proof on every test or so.. quizzes are directly alike the hw. She scaled most of the tests anyways. Final was somewhat easy I guess. If you did well in precalc and trig, you'll do good. If not review, review, review before enrolling! Otherwise recommend!
she's nice and very approachable but the way she teaches calculus will drive you nuts if you're an engineer/econ/business student as she focuses solely on theory and skips over chapters on application
Mrs. McCleave was an AWESOME teacher! in high school i was mediocre at best in math, but the way she explains things and the examples she picks really helps make math understandable. i got a super high A but only because i was at EVERY class, so if you plan on skipping classes, do not take this one. she is super sweet, and ALWAYS helpful if you ask
Honestly, I have no idea why people bag on her. I liked her a lot and she's a great person. She does teach a little bit fast but if you do your hw and study, you'll do well. know your precalc and trig well. Def recommend. PS If you can't pass her 3b course because you disagree with her teaching methods, change majors. You'll fail what comes next..
Goes over the sections far too quickly. Provides no theory behind the problems she goes over, just shows the equation and expects the class to understand on their own. Terrible for those who have no knack for Mathematics.
She teaches extremely fast. Does the problem, but does not explain how to do it. Keeps what's on tests very secretive. Prepare to go through almost a chapter a day. Lots of homework.
Took her for Math 8, she is very helpful and sweet. 4 tests AND a final exam & one quiz with 1-3 questions on it each week but she drops the lowest quiz. HW and attendance don't count for a grade. Only downside is no extra credit. You will get an A if you go to EVERY class and her office hours for help. I would definitely recommend her!
doesn't waste time, gets to the point. helps if you ask. very fast though which is hard to get used to but in the end it's better than waiting for the 1 or 2 people that don't get it and losing good lecture time. not easy but would take her class again.
Doesnt really explain anything. Just does it on the board and expects you to understand how the problem is done. Tests are extremely hard. She tries to 'prepare' you for your next math course so shes makes it more difficult than it has to be. Average grade in my class was a 73%. Take her if you're a math major.
The class in itself is difficult. you need to do work on your own outside of class. welcome to college! she does go through material fast but knows her stuff and is a good teacher as long as you pay attention. homework is worth minimal points but if you do all the homework the tests are easy.
great teacher, she made forumulas connect and make sense by using fundamental concepts and common sense . i learned a lot from her and she was very clear in her speech and got to the point and takes many examples and reviews before tests. I dont think i missed a test question.
Really nice. Will try to help you anyway she can. Not enough elaboration on the hardest sections; particularly for applications sections. Rushes through most of the class; several sections are completed per class, leaving you with a *ton* of homework. Geared towards math/science majors. Logic behind math is generally left unexplained. Avoid MWF
This class isn't that hard. She does plenty of examples, and prints handouts when necessary. There is quite a bit of homework, but the test questions are very similar to the HW questions. Get the student solutions manual for the textbook, it will save you!
Our class was behind most of the year because of the people who complain about how she "rushes" through examples. Her flaw is being as thorough as she possibly can with a classroom half full of people disinterested in calculus. In reality, it's the students who are at fault. Apply yourself for once. She's a good professor.
I would not recommend this teacher at all. We are always rushed through class. She does not even go over her practice exam the day before tests. Instead she teaches a new lesson that is not on the test. She wants to answer your questions in office hours but I dont know about you, I have work and other classes. I am busy during her office hours.
Made fun of me in class. Felt terrible.
If you miss her class she will drop you... Talks too fast.... And if you're late she will lower your grade... Hard teacher .... She needs a reality check.... She makes a boring subject unbearable !!!
Saddleback needs to hire more proficient teachers! She is hopeless! If you are not strong in math avoid her! She moves way to fast, she is not specific enough! She doesn't care!
This class is raw math. Nobody holding your hand. Tutor is necessary due to the fast pace of the class.
She moves too fast. She thinks she is behind, but she is not. She grades according to herself even if you get the right answer using a prior method, she will mark you wrong. I was getting a D in the class even though I had right answers. She makes you do homework that isnt worth any points. She is very rude too.
She is a blunt, harsh teacher, I guess people that have time to get tutors can pass, other than that, no way, she doesnt do her job in teaching and always tells people to get a tutor, uhm if EVERYONE needs a tutor, she is not being a good teacher.
i really love this teacher. if you study and take a good notes it will be very easy A. i wish if i can take all of her classes
She talks very fast, skips many steps and makes lots of mistakes. She does not follow the book at all. She does not answer questions in class and only tells you to seek out the tutoring center. She goes a 100MPH and covers 8 examples without examples what she is doing, when she should be going 65MPH and covering 5 examples in great detail. AVOID!!!
she does not care about her students. She refuses to answer questions in class. She skips important steps in her examples and gives you attitude if you ask a question about the step she skipped. Then she marks you down for skipping the same step on a quiz or exam. She makes a ton of mistakes each day. AVOID! There are better teachers you can take.
Pretty good teacher, tests and quizzes are very frequent, LOTS of homework, fairly easy material, she covers it well and will help/explain any questions in class.
She is a good teacher if you took or fully understand what was taught in 251. I can understand if someone had trouble hopping right in 253. The is a lot of homework, and if you miss 4 or more problems expect to get marked down at least half a grade on that packet. Quizzes once a week, but never tries to trick you too badly. Tests are moderate.
I took Math 251 and 253 with Sumaya. I've always been terrible with math, but I managed to get an A and a B. Homework is graded. There are quizzes every week and three or four(?) big tests. Do your homework! I wish I could take her for Trig! She's seriously one of my favorite teachers-- her enthusiasm is adorable!
Had her for Spring 2013. Was able to get a B only because I had calc in high school. Rushes through lectures, and sometimes not very clear. Pretty much read the book yourself and the do the homework over again if you want to do well on quizzes and tests. Hinders learning. Lost points for using L'hospital rule because "it hasn't been covered yet".
if you want to pass math 3B and learn math dont take this class with this professor otherwise you get C instead of A and you may take D instead B!!! she is teaching methods are horrible
She moves quick, but considering the topics we cover in class we should already know how to solve almost all the material. A great review before calculus, and she discusses a few connections between the material and how it will be used in calculus.
She was one of my nicest teachers I've ever had. If you show up to her office hours and show interest in the course she will love you and be willing to help you. Anything you need help with she will be there. Honestly the best experience with her as my math teacher. Take her and just be ready for work because math is a lot of hard work!
She speaks and goes over the chapters really FAST. I can't even catch her. But her personality is so nice. She is ready to help for anything during office hours. She has a extra credit opportunity. Also she doesn't grade any homework but she collects them.
Homework isn't graded but it is collected and it is encouraged to practice for quizzes and tests. Your grade is only quizzes and tests (4 tests and 11 quizzes). The final is 150pts (50 pts is cumulative and the other 100 is only on the last material) Your lowest quiz grade is dropped. There are no quiz or test makeup days so DON'T miss those days!
DO NOT TAKE HER. SHE'S NOT HELPFUL. SHE HAS DECENT LECTURES, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO GRADING, TERRIBLE. OUR CLASS STARTED WITH 50 PEOPLE AND ONLY 8 TOOK THE FINAL. IF YOU'RE A SMART STUDENT WHO WORKS HARD, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON HER. THE HOMEWORK WON'T BE COUNTED, NO EXTRA CREDIT, NO TEST PREPARATION, TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR. BTW, I'm an A student.
Lectures are fast paced and it is hard to keep up.
I was hesitant to take her because of her average rating but was pleasantly surprised. Quizzes every week unless there's a test. Pretty decent grader and gave good lectures. Homework was turned in on MyMathLab which made it very easy. I'm pretty good with math and she makes it easy to understand and learn.
Teacher is really good. I learned a lot. Take her!! Easy A
McCleave is a great professor! Took pre-calc with her and thought it was an easy A. Lectures are very clear and she's more than happy to help you! HW is collected but not for a grade. Test/quiz every week and most quiz question are exact hw questions and has great study guides for tests. She is a solid choice for any math class!
I have never been any good at math, but Prof. McCleave has helped me gain a new found confidence with it. She breaks down each problem to the most basic components and works her way up. She grades tests and quizzes with the ability to receive partial credit for any correct aspect. I highly recommend her if math is not your strong suit!
She is a great teacher and easy to understand.
I felt she was clear in her lectures and very kind. Her exam study guides are exactly the material on the exams. Grades are only based on 4 exams and weekly quizzes, but they are fair. The covered material is clearly laid out, and there are no surprises.
Many drop; hw is assigned but not for a grade. Grade's are soley tests and quizzes. 100% on a quiz bumps your grade by half a percent, so grades are basically only tests. The tests are harder than hw and study guides. If you have the time to go over them 2 or 3 times each you'll get an A. Few do. Lectures aren't helpful. Prof inaccessible.
She was okay up until halfway through the semester when she decided she was going to stop lecturing completely and instead hand you a blank packet with problems you have never seen before or have at least forgotten how to do and then tell you to work with a partner to figure out how to do problems. So get ready to teach yourself this subject.
Thank you Isaac Newton, you consumed my soul and took million of others with you. McCleave is a good teacher, theres only so much a teacher can do when teaching Satan's masterpiece of calculus. Have you all seen rain man???-- Those are the only people that get A's in CALC 3B and 3C.
I've had to drop out of this clas taught by another professor because of my difficulty in understanding math. Mrs. McCleave has helped me realized my potential unlike any Professor has before. Extremely caring, fresh teaching perspective, and keeps class interesting. HIGHLY recommend!
She is kind and wants her students to succeed. She will always answer your questions and she really made me understand the material. There is online homework and you get two extra points for completing it on time. If you don't finish on time she lets you improve your score until the day of the final. I recommend taking her class for math 253.
Professor McCleave doesn't do much teaching rather puts you into groups and expects you to teach each other the content. Attending this class felt pointless because there were times when my group and I would ask for help and she would simply refuse, leaving the entire class confused -quiz each week -3 exams -five 20pt online hw assignments per wk
Calc 2 is not an easy course. That being said, she was a great professor. Lots of group work and homework. Homework is technically optional, but if you want to succeed in a tough math class, hw is practically mandatory. Her tests are similar to homework and study guides, so work hard outside of class and it's an easy A.
If you look at all the "good" responses for this teacher the students received an A. Therefore if you are a wizard at math and keep up with fast pace lectures then this class is for you.
She would lecture every class and quizzes once a week. Quizzes were difficult and tests were extremely difficult. If you have anything going on in your life other than school, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! She assigns miles of homework with three sections due each week. If you have a job or play a sport you will not be able to do the homework ever.
The subject itself is challenging. If you reach out to her she will gladly help you; that's what helped me a lot. Unless you understand math easily, you have to put in a lot of time and work. Tests and quizzes are easy if you pay attention in class and do at least most of the homework.
She is a very very fast talker. It sounded like she was out of breath a lot of the time because she talked so fast. I was scared she would pass out in the middle of the lecture. It was anxiety-inducing. She also liked pacing. She is also big on groups. If you don't like people this isn't your class. Every class would be some sort of group work.
Prof. McCleave is one of the best teachers I've had! She is very caring and accessible outside the class. But make no mistake, you need to be a hardworking and engaged student for that to be true for you. It is not the easiest class and if you want to get an A you're gonna have to put in some time. Do the homework and the test reviews.
I am really bad a math and do not speak or understand English as many of you. She is very accessible. If you are complaining about her class is because you are not putting the time needed. My advice, before taking this class make sure you know: factorization, square roots, the law of exponents and you will be fine. Quizzes every week and 4 tests.
Prof mccleave is a great person, she cares about students that are having trouble. However, her lectures are extremely unorganized and hard to follow. When she writes on the board, she skips steps assuming you know whats happening. There are better calculus teachers at saddleback.
Honestly I took a Math 8 with support class with her. Most of the class for some reason was a lot of group work, which I really hated, I need a lecture from a math teacher without outside interruptions. Homework was a part of the grade and there was a lot of it, it was done online too which I hated. The tests were long kinda hard. The final killed.
The material is pretty basic to understand and thought she did a good job with explaining. The class is set up as randomized groups of 4 every class. I wasn't a fan at first but I'm ashamed to say I actually really appreciated it since it helped way more than I could've imagined. You have weekly quizes and quarterly tests. Both are not very long.
Professor McCleave is very nice and accessible outside of class. She really wants the best for her students, however there is lots homework and group work. There is a quiz every Friday and about 3-4 exams. Only allows scientific calculators, lectures are a bit messy, & will move on assuming everybody understands. You'll pass if you put in the work.
Overall, she is a hard grader and will mark you down if you do not show ALL of your work, homework is online but I'm not sure if it is because of Covid, she gets upset with students who don't participate, and her breakout rooms have been over 30 minutes long (it's an hour class). With my experience so far, do not take her class. Sorry!
Professor doesn't give clear grading feedback, and subtracts points for tedious/unnecessary reasons. Get ready to pull your hair out.
Professor McCleave is a great professor! If you email her, she will respond pretty quickly and is super flexible with setting up zoom tutor sessions. She does give a lot of homework but as long as you stay on top of it, You will pass the class. She even gives extra credit for completing homework on time. Exams are proctored and pretty difficult.
She is a grate teacher, who likes to help her students. She does have an annoyed side, so just don't piss her off. Except a quiz each week and a test every few weeks. She grades kinda hard, but for the homework and classwork you can try to earn full credit will unlimited tries. She tries to make everyone understand the criteria as best as she can.
I would say that the course is pretty clear-cut. If you keep up with the homework and understand the test reviews, you will do well. But be prepared for way too much homework. The classes were not mandatory, but available for students to ask questions on homework. I wouldnt say this is a fun class. But, if you dont care about that, then go for it
The meetings are optional. Homework is really heavy but is worth only 2 points each so you're in a dilemma as to whether you should do it. I missed an A because I skipped so many of them, so beware. Very friendly and happy to clarify. Basically if you really care about the class you'll get an A. It's a bit challenging, though.
The best thing about her is that she replies to emails SUPER quickly. She is also very willing to help if asked questions. Bad things are she skips steps in the lectures, making you piece it out without telling you she skipped steps. Also makes the tests harder than homework! PatrickJMT & Organic Chemistry Tutor will be your best friends.
Like her youtube lectures. She is always answer email and I still can not believe how patient she was explaining things over and over again (english is not my 1st language ). yes, you will need to work for your grade !
She really is not a good teacher, avoid her at all cost. Although I passed it because Kohn Academy was the key to my success. She has zero patiences, skips a bunch of steps when teaching and her lecture are so bad. She is so monotone and has zero emotion. Everything you do not want in a teacher.
Best Professor I have had at Saddleback so far. She is super understanding and flexible and responds to emails very fast. I was really surprised to see any negative ratings here. She teaches the material really well.
Dont be like me and take this class as a hybrid course. The lecture videos really are not helpful because she skips some key steps leaving me with no clue what to do other than try to figure out what those steps are supposed to be. I know this class will be more manageable in person but find a professor who can really teach how to solve problems.
seriously the best prof ever. she will answer any of your questions and she truly cares about your success. she gives a million chances for you to do well. accepted all of my late assignments and let's you correct your work, both for full credit. if you watch the lectures and do the work this class is a breeze. take this class !!
She was so helpful when I had problems with canvas. She gives easy extra credit just for turning work in on time. She sends a personal email every week congratulating you on your progress and is very eager to answer questions, which she answers within the hour. Definitely taking her class again. Thank you, Prof. McCleave!
I really took her for pre-algebra (#353) but it wasn't listed here. Weekly discussions (which seemed so odd for a math class), weekly online modules, a midterm and a final. Try to keep up with the work because you'll get extra credit for turning work in on time. I did poorly on the midterm and final but passed because I kept up with the work.
SO MUCH HOMEWORK! She lets you do late work and corrections for full credit. She does not give time to get anything done in class plus tests and quizzes are done out of class. Lecture videos are to be watched before class. Honestly the 4 hours spent in class a week were pointless unless you had questions you needed answered.
Took this class a few semesters ago, ended up getting a C, which was my lowest grade in all of the math classes I took at saddleback (3A, 3B, 3C, 24, 26). I would absolutely not recommend taking this class as she makes it needlessly hard, if you can take any different professor, do so.
I had to drop class due to health reasons. Class was challenging been years since I have done any math.
Professor McCleave was the best professor I've had. I took her class with support and she would let us seat in groups and work on worksheets together in class. There's a lot of hw for this class but it really helps us prepare for quizzes and exams. She also provides study guides before the exams. Its not an easy class but she makes it fun.
I was in this class when it was structured as flipped classroom. Lecture questions/tests are worth a lot of your grade, but she does offer an exam re-take and basically unlimited resubmissions on lecture questions until you get 100. She is also very nice and lenient when accepting late work. She let me turn something in that was two months late.
Professor McCleave is a great teacher. She is very understanding and accommodating. The class itself is quite tough and she does have a lot of assignments. Her tests are hard but manageable.
Professor McCleave has a terrible structure for teaching her class. You are expected to watch YouTube videos before the class starts, finish the lecture questions on them, and do the homework in order to come to class for nothing more than questions on the homework. Would highly recommend Professor Ward instead for Math 3A.
I took her at the beginning of Covid and had to withdraw. You need to take math 8 in person. AMAZING teacher, about 3 HW assignments a week plus one discussion every other week. She drops the lowest test grade and allows you to retake the lowest. Super clear class, it's math so be ready to re watch the lectures. Attending her office hours helps lot
3 hw assignment a week, 4 test, drops the lowest grado and allows for a retake of your choice. AMAZING teacher, I struggle with math and am an English learner, but she goes above and beyond to help during office hours and after class. Allows for late homework with full credit a week after due date
Her lectures were fast-paced and difficult to follow. Lots of questions on every hw assignment. She expects every previously covered subject to be fully memorized. She's a nice person, but not accommodating to slow learners/struggling students. If you excel in calc, you'll be fine. If you are rusty/haven't taken calc before, don't waste your time.
Just a good class and a good professor. Lectures are information heavy, but gives lots of time to solve lecture problems. Helps every student. Lowest test score can be remade. Genuinely wants student to succeed.
I took Professor McCleave class online during the Fall. She gives a lot of homework but she is very helpful. This professor goes out of her way to help every student. She cares about her students. She will help you as long as you put effort. She gives a lot of extra credit assignments. Overall, great teacher! She gives terrific feed back!
Calc is very hard but Prof. McCleave makes it manageable. Do the review and homework and you should do fine on the tests (3 in total and final exam). 10 quizzes are given throughout the semester. She has old lecture videos on the modules. Watch them before or after class for further explanation. Some questions on there appear on tests and quizzes.
She's nice and is very willing to help, but her lectures are very fast paced. She often skips key steps to problems and expects that you already know what to do. I don't recommend her if you're a slow learner and or tend to struggle in math.
Ms McCleave is better than a lot of other calculus profs b/c you get a notecard for the exam and YOU CAN USE A CALCULATOR. She'll help you but if you aren't getting it then she is noticeably annoyed. SHE IS GENEROUS WITH PARTIAL CREDIT, SO TRY ON ALL TEST ?'S. Also on quizzes you get a minute to see what other people did before turning it in.
I took this course with support & let's just say that the time given for support is used as another day of new lectures. Prof. rushes through every lesson, doing 2 lessons in one day. Is not good at explaining. Do not recommend this professor to anyone who can't deal with fast paced writing & understanding. ONE quiz every week & ALOT of homework
She is very nice and will help when needed. However, if you're a slow learner it may be best to steer clear of this prof. She is very fast and often skips parts of questions because she expects you to know them. She does allow calculators and notecards for tests but also has a quiz every week.
Very lenient grader, gives an extra week to do homework assignments for full credit, gives the hardest problems on the homework and gives absolute lay up questions on the test. She also has lecture videos for every homework assignment if you're struggling with the concepts. This class was a cake walk, other students seemed to be struggling though.
Professor McCleave runs a challenging yet rewarding class. The workload is heavy, but she's incredibly helpful and accommodating. unstuck AI was a game-changer for study prep. Overall, a tough but worthwhile course.
I was nervous to take this class because of the ratings, but she was a great teacher! She goes a little quick, but as long as you stay on top of things, you'll do great. You have a quiz every Thursday (not bad), hw due every two weeks, and 4 tests (retake one test if needed). You get EC if you attend CISEL for at least 15 mins. Loved her class!
Absolutely LOVE this professor. I took her for math11 (although not listed here) and she was amazing. I had never been good at math or liked it but she made it so easy to understand and enjoyable. She is accessible in office hours, CISL, and very responsive over email.
Super sweet and understanding as long as you're respectful back. She's always ready to help her students in anyway she can. Her class is also super accessible if you have attendance problems like I did. All of her lectures were recorded and uploaded to canvas for you to reference at anytime so if you missed a class you can still take notes.
Professor McCleave class is amazing she offers so much help outside of class. Her policies are also great you are allowed to retake your lowest test grade instead of a final. Also she is very reasonable with late homework take her class!!
