Teaches from the book. Does a lot of examples so you get the point. I really liked her. Totally recommend
She is nice and gives plenty of examples. She works the problems fast so it's more like she write the problem then you blink and she has wrote the answer, she doesn't explain the way to actually work the problem. She assume you knows. Her test are pretty easy and some of review problems are on the test. Overall she is ok
The reviews are the test.
She does a lot of examples and show new ways of solving, so you get the point. I totally recommend her to any student.
She is very helpful
Really doesn't explain material very well. Confused most of the time, so i used the textbook to learn
I would recommend this teacher for anyone, she is very helpful and understanding, overall an awesome teacher!
Professor Iyer is a great Math instructor. I took her 1324 class and had no issues. Show up to class, do the homework, do her reviews, study for the exams and you are guaranteed to pass, if not get an "A."
Does not know how to teach. She expect you to know everything from previous algebra classes. Barely gives examples and thoroughly explain problems. The problems that she do go over are rushed through and not explained very well at all. HORRIBLE MATH PROFESSOR.
Very nice Prof. Took her during the summer and she was awesome! Explained everything thoroughly and her exams were easy! She's laid back and gives you extra credit. If you're struggling, she's there to help.
Very good professor. She taught everything that was required, and even stayed after class to help. My first test grade was a 65 and after that, she helped me make three A's on the following tests(98,100,100 respectively). Always optimistic, and would reschedule tests when it seemed fair. Know that you have to do all of the hw in order to pass.
Mrs. Iyer is such a great professor. I took her class in the fall of 2015, she is always willing to help and stays after class to help. She gives extra credit. Show up and show her you are wanting to learn. Tests are exactly like the reviews. She is understanding that life happens and allows you to make up test if you miss it. Highly recommend!
Do your home work! Go to class or you will be lost. If Algebra comes natural for you then you have an easy A. If you struggle like I do, then you better be in class every day! Reviews are exactly like tests. Do the extra credit- she drops the lowest test grade. Second time taking her, will take her again!
A GREAT TEACHER. HANDS DOWN TAKE THIS LADY! 1) multiple choice test with a study guide to go off of. 2)you will need to do your homework (connect math). she shows you examples in class. but it will be up to you to fully learn it yourself. 3)she gives extra credit and its worth it! 4)class length is not long plus she will reply back to email!
She moves very quickly but test come straight from reviews and she gives extra credit. I would recommend her if your struggle in math because her test are very predictable if u do homework and reviews
I took her online and she was the worst experience ever. I usually do not give ratings but I feel she deserves this rating because she does not respond to emails as a professor should when we have concerns. If she lectures well in person go for it but my experience with her online course was terrible.
Amazing!! Her lectures go over problems from each section that you cover and she explains everything. Also, she answers questions very clearly. 4 exams and a final, and she gives test reviews for each. I practiced the review problems, and got A+'s on every test!!!

She is very helpful and responds to emails
Must buy the textbook to get the online homework (connectmath). She writes problems on the board from the book and works them out without explaining anything. You'll be okay if you know a little algebra already. If not, Connect will really help you, just uses the "show example" option. Reviews are JUST like the test & fairly easy. +cred available.
The class was pretty easy just do the review by yourself twice and you will pass. Beware of final, it is very difficult.
If you want someone who will take her time explaining problems then this is the professor for you. Tests are just like the review sheet so Tests are no scare whatsoever. And best of all. NO POP QUIZZES! Attendance is not mandatory, but like every other class, it will reflect on your grade. Has a slight accent, but nothing out of the ordinary!
Good professor and she cares about her students. If you pay attention in class and do your test reviews you'll do well. She met me outside of class to help me finish my "mymathlab" homework before the final exam. She also responds to emails like a responsible professor should. Lowest test grade is dropped. No excuses why you shouldn't make an A.
Professor Iyer is a great teacher! I took her online class, and she was clear on what is graded and what is not. She gives a timeline to help you stay on track. Very organized, and caring. She offered for students to come to her class for tutorials anytime. Towards the end of the semester she also offered to review for the final exam in her class.
Alot of homework, the Homework is diffrent than what is in class!!. v.v.v.v.v.v much Home Work!
She is the best professor and well prepared .
Took Fall online. Everything is done in connect math including all the test except the Final(must be taken on campus). 5 test(drops the lowest one) and final(worth 30%). I swear it is all easy just practice time management becuz its easy to slack off. Gives extra credit. Very sweet. Get A's on everything else so u have room to score low on final.
Thank you professor iyer for a great semester and for explaining everything so good and detailed. You made math not so complicated:)
Im honestly THE WORST at math but I did really good in her class and ended up passing. She gives extra credit, drops one test and gives homework so class grade won't only be based on tests. Most definitely recommend!
I went from Algebra I to her College Algebra class, and was able to keep up. She is very nice and easy to talk to. I spent a lot of time on homework, but it wasn't too much. I got the textbook but just listening to her and taking notes was so much better. She makes it really simple and gives good practice reviews that closely match the exams.
Took her online for 1325 for fall. Everything on Mymathlab with 4 exams, 1 final at campus. Reviews on exams have the same questions on exams so get you a friend and put the review on 1 cpu and the exam on the other, that's how I got A's on my exams. Failed final, still passed with A. Unlimited attempts on assignments & reviews. You'll be ok
She is a good professor, although some suggest she goes through sections quick. I understood the way she teaches. She is flexible and really helpful, and her reviews are really useful. Math is not an easy subject, period. Also, you have to keep up with you online homework.
I'm not the best at math, but she explained things very well. If you didn't catch a certain part of the lecture, she will go back and try to explain it in a way that you can understand better. She does go through sections a little quick, but just stop her for any questions and she will help. Over-all good teacher, I myself wouldn't take it again.
Im the worst in math but professor iyer tried to make math as easy as possible her tests are very similar to the review if I had studied a little more I would have gotten an A. A lot of homework but helpful to raise your grade easy 100. Drops lowest test grade out of the 4 tests. final is hard so try to score high on her test which are easy!
She's the best professor that I ever had. Homework is a lot of work. Do it dairy. The reviews are based on the tests.
she is a very good professor lots of homework but test are easy just like review.
Professor Iyer is the best! I have her for an online class and she responds quickly to emails! If you are having trouble with anything, she is accessible during her office hours. Professor Iyer is very kind and she cares for her students! The course is not hard. Everything is online expect for the final, which is in person. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
sign up immediately. everything is online. all tests are online at home plus she drops the lowest test grade. the final exam is on campus. fair amount of homework. you get test reviews as well. note: even if you have a high grade, you have to take the final exam or she will give you an F for the semester. Overall, pretty easy course.
I was scared of taking calculus online but it was very easy. The only difficulty will be the learning curve but mymathlab has a lot of informational videos/lectures that you can review. The teacher provides reviews for every quiz/test and it will prepare you 100%. Perfect amount of Homework, Reviews given and actually help, highly recommend!!
Took Prof. Iyer this mini winter semester and it was great. Hw is online on MyMathLab. She takes 3 online tests and dropped the lowest score. Final and 1 exam was on campus. All the tests were similar to review even on most of the questions the values were same as the review test. Do your hw and take review tests and it will be an easy A.
I took Professor Iyer online this Fall semester and It was not to bad at all. Easy home work you will be done with it before the semeter ends. 4 test and a final. test 1, 3, and 4 you take at home online and test 2 and final you take them at school. She is very understanding and wants you to pass. Responds to emails fast. Gives review for final.
Mrs. Iyer is amazing!! She will make you understand and get really into the subject. She is very patient and will answer all of your questions! Be prepared to do online homework for every section, if you show her you care she will help you get a good grade!
Ive taken professor Iyer for all of my math courses. She helps you understand and doesnt make you feel any pressure. Her exams are exactly like the reviews. Please take her!
Wow great teacher. If math isnt your thing and you have FINESE take her class and sit in the back (better view of the whole board) ;) do hw and study shes awesome. i mean mathway helps too lol
Professor Iyer is very helpful and kind! She's super patient and truly cares about her students. I would definitely recommend taking her especially if math is not your strongest subject.
very good professor. I suck at math and I got a B in her class. She ends up opening up all the homeworks back up if you didn't do well or missed a few. Gives you 5 points if you do the evaluation. Her exams were not hard honestly. This was a pretty good easy class
I was never good at math, Professor Iyer changed that, her explanation and methods worked well for me. Things I never understood before she was able to get me to understand it. Just attend all her classes and she will do everything in her power to help you.
ms. Iyer is very caring, she tries to help her students, her tests reviews are copies on whats on the test, she drops the lowest test, in class she gives a lot of examples and would take her time with each concept until you get it, highly recommended!
Ms. Iyer is a good professor. I don't find math difficult so I had a pleasing experience. Her exams are the same as the reviews, and she helps students during office hours. I felt like she went slow on first easy sections and rushed through the harder ones. But if you attend class, do your homework and reviews, it will be an easy A.
shes so nice and sweet. there is nothing wrong with her but she wont allow calculators. she does drop the lowest test grade. you have to buy a access code for $80 to do sooooo much hw. its all do in may but start as soon as possible. this class was really fast paced and hard
I would take this professor again! I took an online class with her and as long as you do the work you will pass. She had all the assignments opened until the last day of class. She responds quick to an email and is always willing to help!
an amazing instructor, 4 exams webcam, and lockdown. a lot of homework but self-pace
If you are not good at math, please do not take this class. The entire course is through ConnectMath and the teacher doesn't help. If you ask for any help, she will refer you to tutoring services. Everything, including the review, is webcam lockdown browser, no calculators allowed either. Would only recommend class if you are good at math.
Prof Lyer is a great teacher. Good at her job, compassionate and considerate. She helped me identify my weaknesses and build me up in MATH. I recommend her for any one willing to know math and score high
Great professor! I have always struggled with math but with professor Iyer I was able to learn and understand the classes. You have to do your homework and exams and will have a good grade if you put the effort. Clear grading criteria and everything is organized in the syllabus from day 1.
She was the best math teacher and very helpful!
Too much homework and it was 20% of our grade, while the exams were 55% and the final was 25%. The majority of your grade will depend on her exams and her exams are pretty difficult. She will drop your lowest test grade though. All homework is due at the end of the semester but I would advise to start early because it is VERY time consuming.
Definitely take Prof. Iyer if you can. Her class is so easy and she provided good notes when transferring to online during COVID. She emails you back with feedback and makes sure that you understand.
Professor Iyer is a really great teacher and her course is set up in a very organized way. She has lecture videos and notes for each unit and section that really helped me and she is also open to answering any questions during class from the hw or reviews. Her reviews are exactly like the tests she gives 4 test and drops the lowest. I recommend her
Yes, there's lots of homework like any other math class. you just need to be organized with your homework and do it in advance so you don't get behind. the test is the same as the reviews. the lectures are recorded and she explains well. don't be afraid of asking questions she doesn't mind.
Greatest professor ever. I took her for 1314 and 1316. She is very caring. I wish she taught precal and calc. I really liked the way she worked her class. She is the greatest ever.
4 chapter exams (multiple choice questions). She drops the lowest exam grade. Do the reviews for the exams (they are like the exams)-(50%). The final exam (30%) was easy if you did the final review she posted on Canvas. Homework was on MyMath Lab (do it early)- 20% of grade. It was a self paced course but you had to teach yourself the material.
I took Professor Iyer for College Algebra and Trigonometry. She is an excellent professor and is very aware of the many pitfalls students encounter when learning the material. She will also let you know which parts are important in later classes. I wish she was my Cal 1 and Cal 2 professor! IF you care about actually learning the subject take her.
This professor has been very helpful and informative over college-level algebra and has proven to be easy to work with. Very understanding and respectable. 10/10 would recommend.
Took this professor for 3 classes, and still think the same about her. her lectures are easy. Get ready to do homework, as its supposed to be in math. No extra credit, but she drops the lowest grade exam. Her reviews are very similar to the test, so if you practice, you will get a good grade. She is very understanding. No attendance mandatory.
I took mathematics for teachers 2 online anytime. Her reviews help you a ton. She is very helpful.
She is a great proffesor and extremely caring. Always gave reviews prior to exams and they were very similar to the exams so make sure to study them. She was always availble and responded to her emails. Be sure to take notes during class lectures to aim for higher grades.
Not a hard class, but if you are not good at math, I do not recommend it. You pretty much must learn by yourself, I took her online and I do not remember her lecturing.
Teacher who loves to teach :D, encourages questions. Gem of a teacher.
She's very caring about her student, Math is an IN-PERSON topic. She teaches well through practice problems and doesn't move on until every student understands the topic. Do the reviews, they're similar to her tests. HW is ALOT through ALEKS but it's good bc it gives extra practice. You have no excuse for failing this course w this teacher.
This class is one of the easiest classes ever if you're good at teaching math to yourself. There are home works on Pearson that are due on 3 sep. dates, and we had 3 tests and 1 final. Tests are EXACTLY like the reviews, so I highly recommend doing all of them. She extended the hw due date, but is not great at responding to emails...
In my opinion, the professor was good at teaching and was very nice. She extended the HW sometimes, but most of the grades come from the exams. and she drops the lowest exam grade. She doesn't allow the use of calculators in hw and in exams.
If you're bad at math do yourself a favor do not take her. If you ask her to explain something he will send you to tutoring, I was not happy because I am paying HER to teach me, you know? I had to withdraw from the class. She was always late too. Up to you if you want to waste your money. She doesn't allow calculators either.
I took her for college algebra online and also took her in person trig class this summer and all I can say is that she is a really good professor. If you plan on taking any of her math classes, I recommend doing the review till you understand bc theyre the exact same thing. She drops one of the grades and the hw are an easy 100.
Amazinggg, i love her honestly such an easy class.
This lady is the BEST teacher I've ever had and I hate math. She is great for people who aren't great at math. That being said, the homework is sort of difficult but works wonders for tests. She is genuinely such a nice person and puts in effort and I also appreciate how she responds to emails pretty quickly as well. TAKE HER!!!
Awful!!!!. Lots of HW added with a $60 fee for access. NO calculators were allowed, and tests were predominantly multiple-choice but heavily graded in the free response. The back office created the tests. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this class to those seeking an easy academic journey.
She's chill, empathetic, patient, and responds to emails within one business day. There're 4 exams and 1 final, but the lowest of the four exams is dropped. Homework has 7 to 8 questions each lesson, 6 small quizzes. Her lectures & notes are understandable. She'd stay a little late after class to explain the materials if you have any questions. ;)
If you're strong in math, she's great, but if you struggle, she might not be the best fit. Exams are 60%, homework 15%, finals 25%, no extra credit. She moves fast, so expect outside studying. Not the best for learning, but not the worst either, so be prepared to learn on your own. Good luck in your college journey! :)
She gets questions directly from the textbook and study guide. She just solves them on the board repeatly the enitre class period without actually going into why she's doing anything or explaining. Good class for someone whose good in math. Not good if you actually need to learn. She's a nice lady though.
Dr lyre is very professional professor her main goal is to make sure all of her students know the material and she makes the complex concepts easy the grasp. She is understanding when it comes to asking questions and will work out specific problems with explanations to go with them I can say with confidence that Dr.lyer is outstanding with algebra
Shes a great teacher, she uses lots of examples to explain concepts and made it easy to understand. If you struggle at math, she might move a bit fast but don't give up. Reviews are like the test. Final is made by the Board so it's a little harder. No calculator till you get to Trig.
I'm indifferent for the professor, but easy class. Some discussions not hard, tests and quizzes on lockdown not hard. She was nice and offered some extensions. If you don't finish homework she gives you spring break to turn everything in. EASY A, just read and do the work and practice. Not that accessible to reach ehh kinda sometimes.
I'm conflicted on this professor. She offered extensions if needed, but I'm not too fond of the way she manages canvas. She changes some due dates last minute and won't post certain assignments until a couple days before. The discussion posts are not hard, and you have more than one attempt on HW. Exams do require lockdown browser & camera.
i took her 5 week summer class and she was a very good professor! keep in mind, her lectures are very fast paced but they are recorded so you can always go back and watch them again. she is very helpful and is willing to answer questions. there is a lot of aleks homework though (28) for a 5 week class, and 4 exams.
TAKE HER CLASS! She is a very good teacher. She teaches a bit fast, but if you have any questions, she'll take her time to help you understand. Easy to get an A if you put effort. 4 exams, 1 final and quizzes. Her quizzes are VERY easy. You get the chance to work with everyone in class. You do have to pay like 60$ for the course material tho.
