Very cool teacher. Will help you more than most professors. I wish I could have taken more of her classes but I've graduated
She's very friendly, approachable, and takes her time to help out.
Great professor. Very clear and thourough. If you go to class and spend a little time studying you will get an A. A+ Teacher
i love her! she is very organized when it comes to her lectures and usage of time. her use of powerpoint makes it more understandable for us visual learners. she is very approachable and helpful so don't be afraid to bring up any concerns.
shes a really cool professor!!! she is very helpful and understanding. you will learn a lot from her class.

There are worse professors you can have. Dr kang is awesome. Very supportive, knowledgable and she is there throughout the entire project. Its a challenging subject, so you have to study. Downside, LECTURES ARE DEATHLY BORING!!!! But she is a very sweet lady, you cant use it against her. She is spontaneously funny! it helps!!!
This professor is wonderful!!! She is clear about what she going to have on the test. Clear power point and if not in class does it by the book, study guide before the exams. NOT STATISTICS BASED!!! But she does take attendence, which is her only down fall. Otherwise GREAT...
GREAT!
You will do well if you pay attn. in class. She is very helpful and friendly
she is an amazing person! i loved this class.. since ALL psych majors NEED to take PSY 321, i wouldn't recommend taking any other professor than dr kang..
She is very nice teacher. Go to class, take good notes, do the projects, you will get an A. Do not buy the book, but take a good note. She helps a lot. Study guid is very helpfull.
She is very nice and helpfull. You don't even need to buy the book for this class. Just attend class all the time and take good notes because the test are base on her lectures.
A+++++
She's incredible! Very organized, friendly, interesting & helpful. Curves grades up since she wants everyone to do well. Posts her lecture notes online so that in class everyone can focus on listening rather than writing. Attendance is 5% of the final grade. Her exams are based solely on lectures. Don't need to buy the book. I absolutely loved her!
Such a caring professor, teaching a worthwhile course. She is realistic in expectations, yet challenging. I learned so much from such an intelligent women. The class really pushed me, and in the end it paid off. Take Professor Kang for 321
Psy 321 - She is an amazing teacher! You have to show up to class to get her notes online or else she won't post them and the whole class suffers. Her tests are fairly easy if you study the notes and review the book. She gives you tons of extra credit points on the test if she's not happy with the class grades. You'll love her.
LOVE THIS PROFESSOR!! TAKE HER!! I WISH SHE TAUGHT MORE COURSES!!
Dr. Kang is one of the most effective professor's i've had so far. I remember her lectures 6 months later because she made each lecture enjoyable. She is extremely helpful and tries her absolute best to not only make things interesting but FUN! Her tests are a bit hard but her TA always reviews exam, ALWAYS. BTW, she curves her exams.
Hated this class and the teacher. So Boring. Lectures are VERY dull and almost pointless. Hard to understand her and always misprenounces words.
such a sweet lady! her lectures aren't all that thrilling but test questions come str8 from them so attend class!! a very easy B, and if put forth just a little effort u will get an A!!!
She is one of the sweetest professors I have met at CSUN. Lectures are kind of boring but exams are based on the notes so attend class. She takes attendance at the end of class!
Dr. Kang is such a wonderful professor. She is so sweet and her test are straight from her study guides/powerpoints. You learn in her class and she is very helpful. I wish I could take more classes with her. Don't be afraid to ask her questions. She really wants students to learn and will take her time to explain things if you don't understand.
Good teacher and yes she is sweet. Not difficult to understand unless you're intolerant of accents.Attend class and follow her study guides. Make an effort on your project and you'll do fine. She made a difficult looking class enjoyable and easy.
She is the sweetest professor at CSUN! She was extremely helpful and willing to listen to each student. I recommend her without a doubt! Her study guides require a lot of time. If you do great on the first 3 exams, the final is not required. She definitely made a difficult class enjoyable!
Very eager to help students learn the material, and what's on her study guides is what's on the exam. The material is difficult to an extent, but the class itself is not. My only complaint is that her lectures were BORING - sleep-inducing boring - so bring some caffeine to class. 4 exams, 3 of which count toward lecture grade; 1 research paper and presentation. Attendance required.
Very sweet lady. Lab is a very easy A. Lecture is an easy A if you study for the exams. The final is optional. 3 exams, one group paper & one presentation. Attendance is required - part of your grade. Don't buy the textbook! I never used it and got a solid A.
Amazing professor! Only had her the last few weeks cuz she was on maternity leave but great class. Didnt really read the book just study the slides and you'll be fine. Lab grade is easy. Paper is done in parts instead of turning one BIG paper at the end of the semester! Take KANG!!!!
sweetest and most helpful professor ever!! She really wants you to learn and tries really hard to relate to her students. Dull- definitely yes but still completely worth your time.
she is such a sweet lady. go to her office hours. she is willing to help her students. great professor. 3 exams, research paper and presentation. learned a lot from her.
Amazing professor. Very helpful and follows her plan to a tee. If you don't get a perfect grade, it's your own fault, as it was mine. Highly recommended if you are serious about learning.
One of the most educated, kindest and most helpful professors I have ever had. She is highly recommended.
Dr. Kang is a great professor, cares so much and is an extremely fair grader. She is very well educated & knows the material really well. There are 4 tests, she will drop 1 (including the final), a research paper on your experiment, & a few assignments. Also need to do a presentation on your experiment. Some extra credit is offered. Take her!!!
Dr Kang is a sweet lady. Tests are based on lectures and the book, but I only read the first two chapters and still got an A on all my tests. This semester, we had one lab partner to do our experiment with, but we each wrote separate papers and gave separate presentations. She said it was different in the past, and may be different going forward.
Her method of teaching is very straight forward. There's a lot of work but it is broken down, which only benefits students. Interesting class.
Her lectures are extremely dry and boring. I'd recommend taking someone else, because research is already boring as it is and she doesn't make it very interesting. Her grading is very clear but she is SUPER picky with APA. She does have a thick accent, so hard to understand sometimes. Final is cumulative, three exams, 6 homework assignments & paper
Terrible at explaining. But go to every class because attendance is mandatory. She posts lecture slides on her website & a detailed study guide of exactly what will be on the test. Her soft voice puts you to sleep so its hard to pay attention. I taught myself the entire semester using the textbook. Read the textbook and you'll get A's on all tests
Class is mandatory but make no sense since half the class always falls asleep. Has an accent and speaks very softly so even if you try to stay awake you will end up snoozing off. Posts lectures online so it is easier to teach yourself.
Book was not necessary, she will upload her lectures on her website and reading what's on them is what you'll need to pass her tests. She also gives you a study guide for the tests. You will need to participate for experiments which are part of your grade. Lectures will get boring throughout the semester. Takes attendance randomly. Study for tests
This is an easy A. Yet, come to class and pay attention to the lectures. It'll only help you remember what is already on the posted lecture notes. Grade is based off of 3 test and a small portion of participation. Gives study guides for each test, everything on the tests are on the study guide. Reading may help, but i never opened the book.
3 tests (50 multi choice). A cumulative final (50 multi choice). Drops your lowest test. Adds extra points if majority of the class did bad, which is usually the case. Takes attendance. 10 extra points if you miss less than one class. Gives a couple extra credit opportunities. I thought tests were tricky. Have to apply theory with examples on tests
Pay attention to the lectures and the notes! She is not a tough grader just make sure to read the book and you will for sure pass the class. She drops one test but you have to take all 4
Long boring lectures. Basically reads of the powerpoint which she posts online.
Took her summer course. She's a good professor and teaches what you need to know for the tests.
Not the best at explaining information; her lectures are paired with powerpoints and sometimes the material is still not clear. Three exams and a final, she drops the lowest grade from the four. No homework. Easy class but you won't learn much.
Good structure. I didn't read the textbook at all, I just attended lectures and studied with the study guide and got the best scores on exams. She drops your lowest exam score. Uses powerpoints and a lot of studies/examples. Will give out random attendance. Just show up and take good notes.
Her accent is literally preventing me from learning. She is not acknowledgeable of student confusion. She moves fast and does not explain conceptual stats properly. I don't think her teaching is the best approach for a hard course such as this.
No homework which is good, but it means you are only graded on test. If you have test anxiety you will fail. You have to go to class. There was literally no extra credit and she won't work with you to earn the ability increase your grade. She isn't a easy A.
I like her a lot, both as a professor and a mentor. She is clear, fair, and willing to devote time to each individual student after class. She's always available during office hours and is patient. Statistics isn't easy but she makes it digestible.
The accent isnt the biggest factor, its mainly the fact that she reads off PowerPoints, that she posts online, in such a boring manner. At some points, it seems she is only rambling nonsense. Print out the PowerPoint and read some of the book and you wouldnt even need to go to class.
Class is boring, Prof reads off the power point sides downside of is Prof has an accent. She does offer random extra credit if you show up to class. You want that A prob should read the book.
Attending class is optional. Her lectures notes are all in Canvas. If you actually want an A you can earn it by reading off the book and studying her lecture notes.
Theres 4 exams and she puts the lecture slides on canvas. She gives extra credit for attendance. You dont really have to buy the book, you can just study from the slides. At the end of the semester she drops your lowest exam. One thing that bothers her is when people leave in the middle of class, but she is a nice friendly person.
She will help you if you dont understand the topic. You are unable to leave the class once you enter and can not be late. On test days you cant go to the restroom. It was a hard class because she goes too fast and does t explain it very well.
This class is pretty much self taught and attendance isn't mandatory which is nice. All she does is lecture off her power points (they aren't that great) and gives tests. We took 4 test in total and she dropped the lowest grade. If you're ok with teaching yourself off the power points she post on canvass, then it's an easy A.
Easy A. I miss 10 lectures and still manage to get a 93. She gives you extra credit for you attending class, but its not mandatory. She grades you on 3 tests in the class so make sure you get As on them. The textbook is not required, just study her slides and your pass. Her test questions are highlighted in blue, which makes the class easier.
Super easy class! All you have to do is study her slides you don't have to buy the book even though she does want you to and attendance isn't mandatory but you can go if you want some extra credit points.
She's so nice and sweet! The class basically consists of powerpoint slides and lectures. She's very clear about what is going to be on the tests. There are 4 tests and 1 is dropped. No final. She also curves if the class does poorly overall. No homework. Attendance isn't mandatory but she will randomly give credit if you show up. Book not needed
there are 4 exams she drops the lowest exam so graded on 3 exams overall. if you are satisfied with your grade you dont have to study for the final but you still have to take it stay for at least 30 mins then leave. gives extra credit so try not to miss class. overall a pretty simple class gives study exams which you can get off the lecture notes
there is a paper a simple 1 page apa style, hw which is broken down by 3 to 4 chapters (simple to do), i would pay close attention to what she has highlighted on the lecture notes gives a study guide, exams are not hard but they are a lil complex to answer. exams split from multiple choice and some written, gives extra credit so do not miss class
Class is just 4 exams, lowest one dropped. Attendance not mandatory but helpful and you get extra credit for showing up. Textbook isn't needed but slides are often vague so use if you're a psych major. Sometimes she reads off of slides, but she clarifies everything, is easy to follow, and is super sweet and approachable. Tests are easy if you study
BEST PSYCH PROFESSOR, her class is the easiest psych class i ever took, she gives AMAZING study guides, everything on the study guide is on tests, nothing more nothing less. i never showed up to class and passed all her tests just by studying the slides which she posts ahead of time and studying using her study guide. she fr deserves the world <3
Very easy psychology class. Attendance is not mandatory BUT she does give extra points for showing up. The study guides for her exams are extremely helpful to the point where you could just not go to class, do the study guide, and pass the exams. There is no final, your grade is based on the 4 exams you take throughout the semester.
I basically had to teach all of stats to myself in this course. Her notes are confusing and she doesn't know how to properly explain topics. I ended up with an A because I focused on the practice questions for the test and did practice problems from the book. If I relied on the way she teaches I would have not gotten an A. Take someone else.
I love her! The best psych professor. Her slides tell you exactly what will be on the test, and the textbook really helps go in depth. Her tests aren't hard, super straightforward and cover main concepts. Lowest gets dropped and there's no final. She's so helpful, sweet, and answers all questions thoroughly!
She is a very understanding professor. Everything is very clear at the beginning of the semester. She shows step by step instruction by hand as well as excell or spss. In Addition to how to properly go about the labs. She teaches you in every direction, and listens to the students. After failing a year prior, I am confident in passing with a B or+
She started off sweet and out of no where, she became passive aggressive. Her teaching isn't the best so I have to teach myself through the lectures and homework. At first she was my favorite professor but then her attitude changed
Very straightforward class. She gives study guides that have key concepts from the slides that will be on the exams and then she has lecture videos where she goes over those same concepts pretty thoroughly. Study those concepts well and you'll do fine on the exams.
Literally, everything is on the PowerPoints and the study guides. I only listened to the reviews videos the professor posted and it covered everything on the exams. The professor speaks very well and provides a lot of references and other sources. Very understanding and lenient about personal situations. Emails very often and updates grades.
Grades using 4 exams. She uploads PowerPoints, a study guide, videos reviewing the study guide, and you have a textbook. As long as you use one of the tools she provides you should pass. Exams are open all day on test day and she gives you the opportunity to ask questions about the exam the next day. Drops lowest exam score.
Professor Kang is "unique" to say the least. The cons is that she expects you to know information off the top of your head and uses a lot of SPSS data which is truly useless because you are not really learning how to calculate formulas by hand. I would recommend you stay away from this professor if its your first stats class. Zero rating if I could
Super easy stats class, the exams are basically based on the lab assignments. Everything on the exam has been discussed in class. Easy grader, 1 mistake will not affect the rest of the points for each problem. Very responsive outside class and helpful during office hours. If you don't get an A you did not try at all.
I took this class in winter. Honestly, you do need a book but, all of her slides cover the 4 exams. The exams were difficult, I recommend reviewing the slides 2-3 times before taking it, because time goes fast during the exam, you want to make sure you have enough time to finish.
The class is perfect so you don't stress. The professor is very understandable. The class is very complete and interesting.
She is honestly very sweet but her English is not very good so her explanations are very difficult to understand. If you're confident in stats you should be okay but if you get stuck she doesn't explain things well. I self studied and used YouTube.
Not done with her class yet but I really do not recommend her at all. She is not clear. She isnt helpful. I asked for help and it doesnt help at all. Its so confusing. I was expecting math and I honestly have no idea what we are doing.
Avoid this professor if you can. I would have to agree with other comments made about her. She isn't when you ask for clarification. Her English is not that great so her explanations are horrible and it is very hard for her explain things in a way that it makes sense.
This class is tough and will require a lot of effort and work. However, if you have late registration (like I did) and this is your only option it is not as bad as people make it seem. It is a tuff subject and she does her best to make sure everyone is following along and she is always willing to help. Put in the work and you'll be okay. Exam HEAVY
Explains concepts clearly. If you study, the exams are very easy! There are no trick questions, she's pretty straight forward. If you don't get a high grade it's not her fault it's yours. Take responsibility. I'm glad I did not listen to these negative comments coming from people who probably don't even know what a university level class requires.
Good lectures. Minimal hw, which are labs but she gives the answers even before they are due. Exams are pretty easy if you study. Does daily quizzes but are easy if you pay attention. caring, knowledgable. Easy A if you put in minimal effort. Would recommend
There are 4 exams (no final), 8 lab assignments, and lots of pop quizzes. Quizzes are given at random times during Zoom, only 1 question each. The other reviews didn't match my experience with her. She really did her best to help students when they didn't understand something. Her tests were fairly easy. She posted lab tutorials before it was due.
It was an easy class but I feel that I am also good at stats.
Literally taught myself stats. I never had a clue what she was talking about during lecture as her English isn't great and she isn't good at elaborating or teaching, she just talks about the information. I had to go elsewhere for help and felt her classes were a waste of time. Not nearly enough time for exams.
Respectful, punctual, methodical, caring, available, smart, polite, considerate, kind. Statistics is a heavy topic for many, but Professor Kang is patient, and her lectures are well organized. Her slides and lecture videos are available, and the workload is suitable. Attendance is mandatory. She does not run through her lectures.
