He is the worst professor I have ever had in my life. He grades very unfairly, he dosen't speak english very well, and he's a big jerk!!!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!!! HE SUCKS AT LIFE
Sunil was a great professor. He assignments were fair, and he graded the exams for the benefit of those of us who didn't score so great. Loved him!!!!!!!!
Sunil was very nice, and wanted all of us to do well. There were a few people who did not like him, mainly because of his Hindu accent, and because they just wouldn't put an effort into the class. I liked him and so did just about everyone else. We had a good semester.
At first, you think you're going to hate him, but then he turns out to be really nice. He lets you argue your grade up when you get your test back. He has an accent, but it's not terrible, mainly just emphasizing the wrong syllable. The class is hard because it's a hard class, not because of him as a professor. I would recommend him.
Great professor. His accent is a little difficult at first, and he knows that, so all you have to do is ask if you don't understand. He is very clear about what he wants, but you HAVE to read the textbook. The people that don't do well are the people that don't put in an adequate amount of out of class time.
he was one of my favorite teachers. he was always try to make the class laugh because no one was ever awake. he was new to teaching this class so he worked with us! i will definitly take it him for a later class. cool guy
He is one of my favorite instructors. He will do anything to make you understand anything. His tests are a little hard, but if you study hard you can do it. Would take him again for sure.
I love him! He's a great instructor. He lectures very well and will go the extra mile to help a student who is willing to do the work. He speaks softly, so you have to pay attention, but even with his accent he does an excellent lecture. Highly recommend.
TOO HARD. He needs to talk louder and not trail off so much. DON'T take him. He's a very nice man but I would never take him again or recommend him. His class is harder than other Anatomy classes and it's not worth it.
Sunil is a great professor. He is super helpful and likes to see students succeed. One tip: stay for the full lab time. He rewards those who stay!
Careful, he's a very nice guy but tough to understand. According to school tracked data, he had almost a 30% drop rate, and the bulk of those who stick it out get a C for a grade. That data means something, take another prof.
This is my hardest class and yet it is my favorite and I learn so much more in this class than all my other 4 classes combined. Sunil is engaging, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable. His teaching style enables me to learn everything required for this course. I'm not a science whiz but I'm maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. He's the BEST
Sinul, smart, helpful, kind and down to earth man! I loved his class and his teaching style. He rewards students who care about there education. If you stay on task, you will learn alot. He does challenge you to think beyond! Great Experience!!!
I couldn't disagree more with those who say he is a terrible professor. Sunil is a wonderful teacher. He is tough to understand at times because of his accent, but he really goes over the material so you know it well. I had to withdraw from this class because I was failing and retook it with Sunil and got a 4.0. I highly recommend him!
Sunil is a good teacher, I recommend him. The only problem I had was hearing him, he speaks softly. The class was hard, but go to the labs and make sure you got to the ARC and study the models outside of class. It helped so much. Take his class if you're willing to work hard and listen.
Disregard the bad comments, this is the hardest class i have ever taken i worked extremely hard at it he is extremely helpful and is a great teacher if you are willing to work at it.
Sunil was one of the best teachers that I have had so far at LCC. He gives students every opportunity to bring their grade up with extra credit projects both in class and out. Highly recommended!
definitely a hard class and lots of memorizing. his test are hard but it's a lot of information. quizzes are not bad just as long as you study for them. lab was easy for sure. overall a good teacher and tells you what you should know, but sometimes felt it wasn't on the test.
DON'T TAKE HIM!!!! is not clear on what he expects you to know. terrible at getting grades back to you. is NEVER on time for class or lecture!!!! TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!
Uses powerpoints for lecture, doesn't give study guides, reviews quickly for tests day before. on 4 tests throughout semester A LOT of info on tests! Not very helpful or clear with lecture notes. It is helpful that he gives points for easy labs and gives quizzes weekly to help get more points.
excellent professor. Knows his stuff. class is very difficult but that is just physiology. can't get around it. He gives a lot of extra credit and on the exams is very fair. gives back points after every test for "bad" questions. Very willing to help and wants every one to 4.0. highly recommend!
RUN AWAY!!! he's terrible. never on time! dont know what to expect on exams. does not cover all material that you need to know for exam. bad at getting grades back to you. SAVE YOURSELF STRESS AND TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!
Sunil is a very good instructor and is easily understood. Tests are very difficult, but physiology is a very difficult subject. He grades fair, and offers quite a bit of extra credit. You must study regularly to do well in this class. If you're the type to procrastinate until the day before a test, forget about it. You will not do well.
How does a 4.0 student ruin his G.P.A.? This class. Terrible. I love biology, but never had a class so dry and ill structured. Do not take.
Look for another Professor! He lectured forever on stuff that wasnt on the test. His tests were very hard and covered the minor points instead of the major ones. Not hard to understand, but my least favorite teacher so far.
Heres the deal: if you're the type that doesnt like to go to class, will leave early, come in late-stay out of biology. If you dont mind studying and come to class, then take this guy. He is by far one of the BEST INSTRUCTORS I have had. He will meet with you WHENEVER he can. He is committed to his students. You will do well if you study.
Sunil is by far one of the best teachers I've had. He takes his time to be clear about everything and make sure it's understood by all. Before the tests and quizzes he goes over a brief review of the chapter(s) to make sure to cover the points necessary to do well on the test. He truly wants you to do well in this class and succeed. A great teacher
This was a hybrid class which made it tricky. Sunil was an excellent instructor. The curiculum is very challenging to learn in a hybrid format. I would recommend Sunil to anyone
BEST PROFESSOR YET!Sunil is committed to his work.He went above and beyond to help his students. What was expected of you was clearly laid out and he genuinely wanted each and every student to succeed. It is a difficult subject so if you do not put the time and effort in then you will struggle! This class was hybrid for me but still, he's the best!
Sunil is an overall excellent instructor. The material and hybrid format where extremely challenging, as I expected a hybrid Biology class would be. He whole-heartedly cares about teaching and is excited about Biology, which makes it fun.
I took this class as a hybrid. Labs were not difficult at all, but you will definitely have to study for the exams. Sunil's power points are great study tools, though!
Hard class. lectures are online with audio. Requires alot of reading. He is willing to explain topics that are not clear. Extra credit for attending every lab. Took online and passed with 4.0. Try to take with one other class and no more, need the extra time to read and comprehend. Great professor
This professor is horrible. He was never clear in what was to be on the exams. He was never available during his office hours. He was not accommodating for someone that is experiencing medical problems. I will never take another class from this professor again. I would not recommend him to anyone
Excellent instructor!I hated physiology till I took his class. One of the best professors I have ever had in lcc.Classes r lots of fun,he makes a very dry subject interesting, his power points r good study tools,he tries to give extra credit where possible.took this class in campus.Never take any other instructor!Go for this one!You won't regret it!
HARD professor. Basically you have to read the whole text book because it is really hard to understand what he is saying. Don't expect to get a 4.0 cause it's probably not going to happen unless you take this class by itself and dedicate at least 30 hours a week to it. I would recommend someone else for Biology 202
Is this the easiest professor to have? Absolutely not, but I guarantee if you put forth the effort in the class and review the powerpoints, you'll learn a lot in the class. Sunil is a great teacher though and more than willing to spend the time with you to help you understand it.
Although this is a hard class to begin with, Sunil makes the information very understanding. He takes the time to break down the tougher material so you understand. There were 4 exams, including the final, and 11 quizzes. The tests were tough, but if you show up to class and study you will do well. I would recommend getting the textbook.
Excellent instructor. The class is somewhat difficult itself, but he gives you a great chance to do well. He is prompt at returning emails and he throws quite a few "gimme" points at you during the semester. He is always willing to help and also has a good sense of humor, which you wouldn't think of from a physiology professor.
Funny, smart, good at conveying the information.
Sunil is by far the best bio professor I have had at LCC. He is very informative and makes physiology very easy to understand. He clearly loves his job and does it exceptionally.
I took this course over the Summer (shortened calendar). Although the class was very fast-paced, I learned more than in any other class taken at LCC. Dr. Sunil made clear the requirements and gave tips for success, ensured everyone was 'on track', and took time to ensure my understanding. WONDERFUL professor! GREAT structure! Worth studying for!
I took the hybrid version of this class and it was difficult. There is a lot of reading and studying involved. In class Sunil didnt really further explain the concepts we learned in the book, he just jumped right into the labs. His tests and quizzes are difficult. He doesnt give back the quizzes after he grades them to see what you got wrong.
Very good professor! I struggled at first but Sunil took the time to see me and figure out what I was missing in my study habits. Doesnt give a study guide but if you go to class he gives you the information you need. Gives some extra credit and try's to make the subject as fun as he can. I would definitely recommend him to any student
I think of Sunil as Physiology Dad. He's got a smile in his eyes and well-organized lectures that really helped me understand the concepts of Physiology. Hands down one of my favorite professors at LCC.
Very strict and keeps to his word. Also not very understanding when it comes to life and situations do happen. Along with being a tough grader, hes not very clear on how he expects things done or advises you to study so having to ask questions constantly is an issue.
Sunil provides every opportunity for his students to receive a good grade. The class is tough and requires a lot of reading, but his lectures are thorough and in office hours he bases his answers to your questions off of relevance to the quizzes and exams. Sunil also provides extra credit to help boost your grade. Highly recommend taking with Sunil
He's very hard and does not take time to make sure that all his students understand what he's teaching, its bad enough that he speaks very fast and skips all over that place. He also tries to teach 18 weeks worth of stuff in 8 weeks in the summer he even said it was too much but still expected you to complete it done. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!
Dr Sunil's class is for students who have failed Physiology and is doing it another time. I do not recommend him because he is not only a tough professor, but also goes through his lectures very fast. The worse thing is, you will get 3 chapters of lecture, 2 labs and on the same day get a quiz. He will make you hate BIO202!!
I took Dr. Sunil during the summer semester. He loves his job and he's good at it. I learned a lot in 8 weeks. There was a lot of reading involved but it was worth it. Dr. Sunil makes physiology fun
Let me say this first, definitely a tough class, I took the hybrid so in my eyes it was pretty difficult. But Sunil is the best teacher ever, I am not even done with this semester yet and I love this guy. Always making jokes and he knows what it is like to be a college student, he understands that we are busy. Please take this man, he's the best
I took this class as a hybrid and it honestly was the worst class I have ever taken. Be prepared to teach yourself by reading the textbook from front to back. His tests and quizzes are super tricky and hard. No study guide. He was helpful during his office hours and let us look at our quizzes and test. Other than that I wouldn't take him again.
Sunil is the hardest professor I've taken. I took the hybrid course with another class. I will end up having to take it AGAIN I studied read everything, watched every lecture, the test are weighted more than 1/2 the grade. If you do meh on them youll get 2.5. I've never worked so hard for such a poor grade. all my other classes i got 3.5 or better
I will start by saying DO NOT TAKE THE HYBRID COURSE. I am normally a 3.5 and 4.0 student and I have to retake this class since it was so difficult. I struggled in the very beginning, because you basically need to teach yourself. I am retaking with Sunil (not hybrid) because he is a pretty knowledgeable teacher, just the course itself is BRUTAL.
If you have a strong foundation in biology he is your go-to professor, he is very smart, knowledgable and quite hilarious. The hybrid is awful, it relies on a lot of self teaching from his online lectures which are very dry compared to his in-person lectures. The tests are very tough and with no study guide difficult to pass.
I took BIO 202 as a hybrid class. Prof Sunil was easy to understand and was great at explaining things. I highly recommend going to his study sessions before class. Tests were super difficult, he's very explicit and fine detail oriented. Read and re-read, and ask questions. We had 2 papers and 5 tests.
Sunil was such a pleasure to have as a professor. He was knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic in the subject he taught, and knew just the way to explain in a way that every student could grasp.
Hands down the worst professor I have ever taken in my 3 years of being here, do not recommend at all.
Knowledgeable, but unwilling to share his knowledge with students. Expected to memorize the textbook front and back and gives you no helping resources on successfully taking his exams.
By far the worst professor I have ever had. He provides little to no feedback. You do not get your quizzes back to study from for exams. He is very rude, even at office hours. He flies through lectures and does not explain things so others can understand. If you are doing well in the class he will help, if you are struggling, he shrugs you off.
He is such a great teacher! Simplified complex topics. Heavily recommend going to class to earn a good grade. His dad jokes keep the class atmosphere light. Very kind and wants you to succeed.
This is a REALLY tough class no matter who it's taught by but the content is very necessary for most science based degrees. He is very accessible outside class and his quizzes are great meters for how well you're doing. His tests are really difficult but it is made clear during lecture what you're expected to know. You have to put the time in.
I took the hybrid physiology class with Professor Nityanand. He is very smart, funny, and kind. He makes himself available for students at office hours and responds to emails promptly. That said, this course is ALL memorization. You almost lose track of the big concepts because you have to know everything. Hardest science I've ever taken.
Really good person and very smart when it comes to physiology. The tests were packed full of small details from the power points. He was always open to helping and answering all questions. Yes, the class is hard but as long as you try and stay focused you will do fine.
If you are looking to enter a health profession and need physiology this is your professor. I am currently in a BSN program at another school and he is by far the best professor I've ever had. Physiology is so fundamental and so frequently used in medical studies you really want a professor like Dr. Sunil.
If I could rate him a 0 I would because that is all he deserves. Taking his online class was absolutely horrible. The labs were extremely difficult to do and he would never give feedback on them (not to mention he grades them super hard). I had to use a tutor almost every time and never received above a B on them. He sucks don't take him.
By far one of the worst teachers I have ever had do not take the class. He is very rude and hard to understand it is not worth it.
Sunil is a tough grader; he really makes sure you know your stuff. The case studies are not on the course schedule, and he emails you randomly throughout the semester with only a few days notice on when the case studies are due, which is quite frustrating. The online lectures also were not very helpful as he just read directly what was on the slide
Worst class ever do not take it. He emails you randomly throughout the semester with only a few day's notice on when the case studies are due, which is super annoying. The online lectures suck all he does is read directly what was on the slide. And will not allow any late work what so ever.
Honestly, I had no idea what he wanted on lab reports or case studies. I more or less had to guess on that, but he graded me easily. He also does NOT accept late work and is slightly bad about answering emails
The lectures are a lot. There is no study guides for the tests but he does let you know what you should study for each test. Theres a lot of reading.
Sunil is an amazing Prof and provided challenging material with a thorough explanation. His lectures are phenomenal and detailed, he truly cares about his students and wants you to succeed. You do have to do the work though.
Please avoid this professor at ALL COSTS. This was the worst experience Ive ever had with a class at LCC. The teacher does not care at all about his students and the only grades that affect your overall grade are the exams. Which there is no study guide provided for. Terrible. Would not recommend.
Whoever passed his class, you are goated. That was not me lol :(. Was too difficult to understand, the lectures did not help really. There was no review or practice quizzes or tools at all he offered.
We just switched books so there was some difficulty with all parties involved with adjusting. He covered the material quite well despite the issues. Pay close attention to emphasized things in lecture and all labs, they will be mentioned in exams.
He teaches fast and is very hard to understand. No help or practice quizzes and the PowerPoints are not enough to use to study. You can't even tell what will be specific on the tests from the PowerPoint, which does not help because you will waste more time studying and looking for something you did not know that was not on the test.
I think that Sunil gets a rep of being an intense teacher but I honestly think he is great. Physiology has a TON of material to get through yet he is still open to answering peoples questions and making sure people understand it. It's definitely not an easy class, but if you go to LCC, you will learn the most from him.
Sunil is not a bad professor, but this is an incredibly difficult class. I did not find the lectures to be helpful and found myself mostly teaching myself everything from the book. Your grade is fully based on 4 exams, 75 questions each. A lot of outside studying is essential to succeed. It is difficult to know what to study.
I really enjoyed this class overall. He was very helpful and it seemed like he cared about the students. A lot of people will say he's a tough professor, but he just teaches a tough class. As long as you show up to lecture and lab and show that you care, he will be willing to help you succeed in the class. Also take advantage of his office hours.
He is a funny guy, I'll give him that. Some questions on the exam are misspelled and it is difficult to understand him. I'm not just saying this because he has a thick accent; he is not fluid with the information. So far I have a B, but I've Aced this class twice before the credits matriculated. He is not a bad teacher, but not great. Seems rundown
I had a blast in this class Dr.Sunil is super helpful, genuinely cares about us. Some may call him tough, but he's just providing a workout for your brain. Attend lectures, labs, show you care, he'll go out of his way to help you succeed. Don't skip his office hours and study sessions; they're a hidden treasure filled with knowledge and nice jokes!
tough grader, consistent dedication, covering multiple chapters each week. Much of the learning was self-directed. The workload was heavy, with frequent homework assignments that demanded a deep understanding of the material. While the course was challenging, those who committed to the effort gained a strong grasp of the subject.
This course is not well designed and most students expect to take it multiple times to receive a passing grade. The homework is from Pearson and is AI-generated, which I hope will cause LCC trouble with accreditation. Sunil writes the quizzes, tests, labs, so focus on understanding the material there and skip anything Pearson, which is busy work.
