Awesome, awesome! So understanding, patient, and passionate! I'd underestimated this class before, and found it difficult- and she personally explained everything, even when she'd just lectured about it and it was obvious I just wasn't listening :) Tests are fairly easy, 2/3 MC, 1/3 short answer, and the final is LITERALLY the previous test Q's!
****ar is a very dedicated and nice teacher. Her lectures are very easy to follow but you'll still need to read the book to do well in the class. I thought she was a great teacher.

This class is pretty basic. Kumar is annoying on power point, she moves the page before you can get anything down, but posts them online, so attendance isn't required. However, she gives xtra credit to those who don't skip out. Pay attention, take notes, and you will get an easy A. She likes those who make the effort. If you dont try, she notices.
Very nice teacher and very easy class. Listen to the lectures carefully and preview before every lectures, you can get an easy A. She is a good teacher and patient. There is a lot Quizes and Exams during the quarter, but each of them have bonus questions.
You will NOT regret. She is the best for biology class. Very fair tests, and very a few homework. She is nice and friendly. highly recommended.
i took her for nutrition. she uses powerpoint lectures, and posts them on the my bcc site which is nice. she's really annoying in that if we have a test the next day, she'll start teaching us something new instead of reviewing. there's group assignments, a presentation, she's a fan of busy work. she drops your worst quiz and test.
I think Dr.Kumar is a wonderful teacher. She was great at explaining the materal and relating it to real life. Her tests are not hard and little homework is given. Labs are fun and made easy so you can pass the lab tests without stress. Take her class, you will not regret it! A++
Dr. Kumar is very helpful, and the class was interesting. The exams were a little difficult, but if you attend class, read the book, and read her powerpoint notes she posts online, you should be fine! I would rec. her!
She is really realistic about what she gives for tests, the material on the tests comes straight from the questions at the end of the chapters. She goes over everything and offers additional assistance outside of class. Lectures are hard to sit through but she repeats complicated ideas to make sure her students understand. I would reccomend her!
She is the best biology teacher I've ever met!!!
This teacher is not easy. i had her for biology 160 it was really hard and alot of information, she is nice and always wants to help but she have some wired attitudes about walking to class late. Overall class not so good, i had better teachers than her.
I really liked this professor. Biology in general is a hard class, so be prepared to study A LOT. Her tests and quizzes are tough, but she gives a lot of extra credit.
i had kumar for nutrition, and its not as easy as you would think it would be. the tests come directly off of the power points she gives you which is nice but to actually understand what is on the power points you must read the book. i never asked for help but she seems like she would be great with any questions. im taking her for bio next quarter!
Interesting class though if you aren't a lecture student it's really easy to tune her out. The tests are difficult if you havent done the reading but she is good about explaining what you dont understand. She does like in-class busy work. Wouldnt reccomend for 1st year students, my B+ was only cause I pulled tons of all-nighters before tests.
She is very good teacher. If you just study you will get easy A because she gave a lot of extra credits for the quizzes and testes. However, you should read text book before you go to class. It will be easy for you in future.
AWESOME TEACHER:)
LOVE Professor Kumar!! I'd highly recommend her. I had her for Nutrition and Bio, and really enjoyed both classes. She is always willing to help you if you have questions. She gives a lot of extra credit too. Overall fantastic teacher!
I also took Kumar for Biology and Nutrition, she really is a great teacher. Go to class and let her know that you are serious and you will benefit.
Dr. Kumar is a great professor. She is very fair and wants her students to learn. Her tests and quizzes are challenging but not impossible if you study. She drops your lowest test and quiz score. Pay close attention to her test reviews for her short answer questions and all the multiple choice come from the reading. Take her!
Kumar is great- her lectures are interesting, but general. In order to do well on the tests and quizzes, you have to study the textbook. Work hard on the text, and you'll do well on the tests. She's also totally willing to meet with you to make sure you're on track and prepared for tests. Very approachable and sweet.
LOVED Mrs. Kumar. Best teacher i've had a Bellevue College.
A terrific teacher! Smart, fun and willing to help students who are struggling. Her class is challenging and interesting and it changed the way I think about botany.
Very good teacher. She is helpful and kind of funny! Defiantly take her class. She does have an accent... but its not too bad. She will totally help you! But you need to do a lot of studying in this class to receive a good grade. So, she is not an easy A teacher.... but a good teacher!
She isn't the easiest teacher but you end up leaving the class learning about alot. You have to work hard to get an A but it's earnable. She also gives some extra assignments to boost points and extra credit on the exams. Overall, 5 exams, 3 Lab exams and lots of labs.
Awesome teacher!! She definitely knows how to teach.... Very organized and also explains things clear. Favorite Teacher so far.
Very good teacher. Probably one of my favorites. She cares a lot about her students.
Amazing instructor, very knowledgeable instructor. Great teaching style, explains & clarifies in detail. If you read and do the work that is being asked it is easy to get a good grade. I have enjoyed this class!
Having previous biology experience, I expected the class to be easy and boring. While it was easy, Supreetha teaches extra information from the book which made it very interesting for me. She also awards many opportunities to bring up grades, so there is no reason to fail this class. Reading the book is definitely recommended.
I LOVE Professor Kumar!! I'd highly recommend her..her lectures are interesting. Great teaching style, explains and clarifies in detail
Best teacher in Bellevue College. Super easy class. She was very helpful and sweet spoken.
She wastes so much time even if you're done with lab and assignments you have to stay in class until its time for it to be over pretty much doing nothing. Docks so many points on the tests expects you to use exact same language she uses and if you don't, your answer is wrong. I passed the class but was not very pleased with the instructor.
Supreetha teaches very well in a clear thoughtful manner. It is a must to show up to the labs and lectures if you want to get through the tests. This class isn't exactly easy but if you put in the work its not too hard to get an A or B
I loved her. My favorite instructor so far. Lectures were interesting and chalk full of information. 3 Exams and Lab Tests, all written. Really is not that bad. 2-3 quizzes, multiple choice. Take notes! If you went to class and paid attention, you didn't really need the book. Will help if you ask, very nice wants everyone to succeed.
She's a nice person. Good class to learn something in. FYI: If you don't want to waste money on the loose leaf textbook, you can buy an online version for cheaper.
You HAVE to pay attention but it is very difficult because she can be pretty monotonous and boring. Reading is very important or you get lost pretty easy.
great teacher, she helped me whenever I needed. the lectures are interesting and sometimes the time just flys. 1 hour, three times a week lecture class and 2 hours, twice a week lab, which were really interesting!
Supreetha Was an absolutely wonderful teacher who cares about her students and wants them succeed. The only way you won't do well is if you don't study or try. I got a C+ but I could have done much better and she tried to get me to. I recommend her to anyone!
Supreetha has a very kind, caring personality and i really like her as a person! But i definitely wouldn't take her again. Her lectures were all over the place and often didn't make sense at all so i usually left class confused. Im confident that i could have passed the class without going to lecture because the exams were all off from the book.
She is a really fun professor, but there is a quiz every Friday and five exams. They are all content heavy but the final presentation is extremely easy.
The class is very straightforward, show up and asking questions or going through the powerpoints ahead of time helps. It's a really interesting subject and you could really get into it, the quizzes and tests all have reviews. Keep the lab and the lab notes, working with good classmates makes all the difference.
Encourages discussions and grades you on it based on whether or not you do it. Great class and great professor. Very understanding and super responsive and active with her class. Definitely recommend.
I LOVE this professor. Not only is she so sweet but she explains things very well in class and even in personal meetings. I really wish she was teaching BIOL 160 but she's not :( Like fir most classes just do your HW and attend class and she will pass you. She's also very understanding about most things.
Supreetha was amazing. She has excellent lectures and really cares about your learning. She hands out study guides for tests. Tests are exactly what you expect, nothing too hard. Just come to class, do the basics and you should be fine. REALLY recommend her!
I wouldn't take this teacher again. Her class is super easy and you dont need the text book, all you need to do is look at her powerpoint.
I would definitely recommend this teacher! Her class is super easy! You can even absent as many times as you want and you will still get an A in this class! She is a kin person and no homework at all!
Really kind person and a great professor. Although I'm not much of a biology/natural science person, Supreetha really stoked an interest. Her lectures were great, and she tried to encourage debate through class discussions as well. Although she didn't take attendance, you lose out on points if you miss a lab so you had to show up to every class.
Extremely sweet, participation is crucial though. Would definitely take another one of her classes.
Supreetha is passionate about her teaching subject and always willing to answer students' questions. In order to get a good grade in the tests, get ready to read the entire chapters because there will be some multiple-choice questions are not in the guideline. Besides, she is an easy grader. Her lectures are a little bit boring.
I would recommned any student not to take her class. If you take her class it easy to get F-
Supreetha is the GOAT. Class was relatively easy for me because I've already taken bio. Supreetha is a pretty easy grader and her tests are 70% multiple choice. And she has a 5 question multiple choice quiz every week. One thing is she talks relatively quiet and lectures can get a bit boring but other then that she's awesome!
Supreetha's online NUTR100 class was super easy. Didn't really need the textbook. Weekly quizzes, most everything you need is in the modules. Very easy discussion posts and homework assignments plus 4 exams. Expectations were very clear and the class was well organized. I highly recommend this professor!
One of the best qualities of an instructor is the ability to put students in a position to succeed; Supreetha has that quality. Definitely a lecture heavy instructor, and you must participate to succeed. But overall, whether you're a science-fanatic or an average student trying to get a lab credit (Yours Truly) I would recommend Supreetha's class.
If you attend the class you will pass.
Online NUT100 w/Kumar was great! Quick to respond to emails, very clear instructions, which is a must 4 an online class. Lots of textbook reading. 4 exams over textbook, online discussions with classmates weekly, small homework assignments. Tests can be difficult bc they cover a lot of material, extra credit assignments can help bring grade back up
Her tests are ridiculous. Shes fills them with trick questions and makes you feel stupid when you inevitably get it wrong. Multiple questions on tests will have multiple right answers but shell only give you a point for one, so your basically guessing which right answer has point value to her... unbelievable, that does not foster learning.
Professor Kumar is a beyond friendly professor. She allowed me to make up work when I was out of town which was generous of her. She also makes it very clear on what she expects from students and makes finding assignments on Canvas a breeze. Her tests are very straightforward and she always gives us a study guide before hand.
Straightforward in the daily lectures and helps you with any questions on labs or homework. She puts effort in for you to know what you need and anything beyond if you are interested. If you show up to class and are alert during lectures while staying on top of homework at home, 90+ in the class is guaranteed. Very approachable during class.
I failed this class due to personal issues at the time but shes a decent teacher.
She cares about her students. She has lots of resources in the modules and optional office hour zooms. I learned most from the textbook, but she explained things well in lectures. There's about one chapter a week, 10 homework questions, an easy virtual lab, and a capstone project overtime. No unnecessary stress if you manage time well. Solid choice
A very kind teacher who answers your questions enthusiastically and has an organized class structure. her class has weekly chapter quizzes and weekly chapter homework. Her exams are 4 chapters worth of material and are difficult, but she provides useful study guides and office hours
Super empathetic when it comes to grades. Weekly chapter hw and quiz. Has 2 exams that are each worth 4 chapters of material. Final exam is not comprehensive and is just the last 4 chapters. Uses lockdown browser for exams. ATTEND HER OFFICE HOURS-she does the chapter study guides with you
Attendance isn't out right mandatory but you do need to go to class to be able to do the in class assignments or you cannot receive credit. Only 10% of your grade so up to you. She definitely appreciates participation and is very willing to help meet your needs as a student. Its bio, so expect a lot of reading and studying.
Labs are mandatory. She lectured for the first hour and left us to do the lab for the second (labs are easy). Wants her students to do well, & is very kind about exceptions. On days we didn't have a class we were to study the textbook and complete 1 assignment and a quiz (no time-limit open note). 2 easy exams, study and you will pass!
Supreetha is the most caring and loving professor I have ever had at bellevue college or any schooling. She wants all her students to succeed and will make time for you. She answers all questions, is very respectful and patient. I was lucky to get her this quarter!
Easiest class ever. Taken this class online asynchronously and it was good. Apart from the tedious homework that you'll receive on McGraw-Hill, it's all easy and you can practically look up all the answers. There are online labs as well and they are too easy to the point that I'm confident a 5th grader could pass the lab. Easiest A for a lab class.
Supreetha Kumar is FABULOUS! There is a reasonable amount of work in Bio 100 and Professor Kumar really knows her stuff and can explain it in a way that is easily understood. Course curriculum is great with a wonderful eBook, that if you read and do the "pre-work" and "homework" you will do well on the exams. Project at the end of class is fun!
Professor Kumar was great! The course material was interesting and engaging, though it did get a little repetitive at points. The diet analysis project/paper at the end was a blast. Highly recommend taking her course.
Supreetha is caring and not out to get you. Beware of long hw assignments each week on McGraw Hill (usually 100 ish questions, but graded for completion). Tests aren't super hard, but you must study. This is not an easy A course unless you have prior bio knowledge (I didn't). Labs are super easy and free points. Open note quizzes online each week.
The best Bio Professor ever! Bio has always been a favourite subject of mine, and this teacher made it even more fun! You can get an easy A if you participate in class and do smartbook assignments and quizzes. She is accessible outside of class and is always there if you need help. Smartbook assignments are key to doing well on exams.
Honestly she's the GOAT. Such a chill class, great instructor, you can tell she's smart & really knows what she's talking about. It was very easygoing and her final isn't cumulative, and how she weighs different assignments is great. Has really fun labs and you won't fall behind unless you really try. Super welcoming to running start students too.
Supreetha is one of the best profs I've ever had at BC. She is very caring, and always asks if you have any questions before continuing topics. She has very clear grading criteria, and has office hours where you can ask questions. The tests are kind of tricky, but as long as you study you should do well.
I think due to lack of direction with her course it caused me to score lower. The course is designed for people who never took a science class. Most of the material = not enough to pass quizzes. if you've done well in basic high school science = fine.
Professor has us read the online textbook before class but also goes over the concepts in class--if you don't read you won't fall behind. Things she goes over in class are important. She sometimes gives out extra credit on non-lab days, the credit is applied to the next exam. Go to her office hours or talk to her after class, it's totally worth it
Very sweet professor. Passing will be easy if you actually read the textbook and PowerPoints. Weekly assignments + quizzes were short and open book.Textbook mandatory but I got away with buying an older edition which only costed $10. No final exam! Instead 4 smaller exams throughout the quarter and notes allowed during which I really appreciated.
Very caring and understanding professor who wants you to succeed. Most of the grades come from McGraw Hill textbook assignments and quizzes, the others are labs, in-person assignments, and exams. The exams are not tricky at all and if you put in the effort, you'll pass easily.
always sent weekly canvas messages for the weeks work, only two assignments a week one case study and a quiz, for exams she lets us have a cheat sheet, deadlines are very firm but shes very understanding, i suggest this course if ur not big on asynchronous classes but want one u wont forget about, book heavy but i mainly used the ppts
I took Bio 160 with this professor and so far its been great. The teacher is very nice and lenient with the labs and attendance. The workload isn't too much and the material is explained very well
Professor Kumar was amazing! She's very nice, understanding, organized, and wants you to succeed in her class. There's lots of textbook reading, but it's helpful and backed up by her lectures. There are 3 exams throughout the quarter, including the final (none of them are cumulative), and if you study well you will do fine. Overall very good class!
Very nice teacher, tests were not too difficult. Homework was slightly lengthy at times but definitely doable. We were allowed to write notecards at times, which I appreciate. Labs were neat and instructions were pretty easy to understand.
Supreetha was one of my favorite professors! She assigns weekly textbook reading (takes around 1-2 hours and is graded for completion) and a quiz. There are also labs to complete in-person, but she is super lenient and answers any questions. One tip I will mention is to fill out the study guides she posts before exams!! It helps so much! Good luck!
She was an awesome professor who genuinely cared about her students. She is invaluable and will answer any question. You'll do fine if you watch the lectures, take notes(usually less than an hour),and do the weekly homework assignment 1-2h. There are weekly quizzes that are fairly easy and are due by the end of the week, Deffienlty would recommend
Professor Kumar is one of the kindest professors I have ever had at Bellevue College! She's extremely understanding and truly wants all her students to have both fun and pass her class. She's constantly providing encouragement to all her students. This class is a little HARD, but with the Professor's help it's 10x better! Definitely recommend!
Excellent professor very approachable, kind, understanding, would definitely take another class with her!
Take this class for biology! Prof. Kumar is super kind and approachable, has good lectures, and is very clear about what will be on the tests. If you use her study guides and do the textbook practice questions you will do great in this class. She clearly has a lot of love for teaching biology, which made her class very enjoyable.
Prof Kumar is an amazing teacher for BIOL160! I took summer quarter so things were paced 2x faster with 3 exams total (final NOT cumulative). She's very passionate and knowledgeable in biology with years of experience; you'll see in her lectures. Make sure to study, complete hw on time, and do the labs, and you'll be good to go. Highly recommend!!!
Supreetha Kumar cares sooo much about her students. She tries super hard to make sure everyone succeeds. She gave at least 40 points worth of extra credit throughout the quarter. Her tests are worth 70% of your grade but as long as you study the textbook it shouldn't be too bad. The homework is also super light with only 2 assignments a week.
I loved Professor Kumar! It's obvious she cares much for her students and gave SO MUCH extra credit I could not be more thankful I took her class. It's so clear she cares about biology and it made it that much more fun to come to class and she is super helpful if things don't make sense. Shes a really nice grader as well! I reccomend!
Don't take her hybrid class- the homework is very tedious (requires lots of reading), her tests are spaced out badly (esp last one). test averages weren't that high; it's a lot of self teaching except the test questions will be based off what she expects not what you expect from your attempt to teach yourself.
Nice professor. She gave lots of extra credit on the 4 exams. I will say that it's tough to recover if you do bad on 1 exam. B/c exams are 70% of your grade. Very passionate and kind, hybrid was difficult and the study guide she gives is limited. If you take hybrid just study a lot and you'll do fine. She also posts weekly agendas which is helpful.
lectures in person are high paced exam is 70% of grade 2-3 weeks is a new exam, the last exam is over 4 chapters I felt most confident on last exam study guide but once I sat down for the quiz it did not reflect the exam. gave lots of extra credit had to clarify my written answers after exam to get points errors on smart book quiz teacher corrected
