Great professor, great lecture. But don't be fooled - you NEED to study for this course. It is not easy, and if you don't pass you cannot blame the prof.
teaches ok well. notes are neat, not the best prof, but can get the job done. midterm test are reasonable.
Notes are very thorough and explain topics very extensively. She posts videos of lectures and labs, so there's no excuse to not get good marks on labs. Midterm and final were both a little tough... but they were fair, plus she's willing to negotiate and give more marks that were deducted if you ask.
Rude, gives attitude when you ask for clarification. Switch out ASAP
Has a very rude tone and gives attitude when asking questions.
Dr surrinder is a GOAT. she explains everything very clearly .
she is a very nice prof and makes class very interesting. I don't know why ppl are saying she is rude when she clearly asks time to time if students have any question and she explains it thoroughly.
go to class and study you will do great
Not good...
Shes amazing . Explains everything in depth
She reads and regurgitates from the textbook and yet would be passive aggressive about students not showing up to her class. Basically going to her lectures adds no educational value. Provided 40 M/C and 2 essay questions to be completed in an hour. You aren't given enough time to read the questions let alone answers them. HARD PASS!
She is totally out of her element. I think this course should have taught by another professor. Read from the textbook instead.
She explains everything brilliantly and its obvious that she is smart and knows the material inside out. But she left us with a ton of content and it feels like there is too much to study; and its all over the place. Her way of teaching is not concise. Her exams are hard and she expects students to know it all. Wonderful teacher, but hard :(
Run as far as you can. Her exams are cancer. She teaches decent but her content is very heavy and her exam time limits are just not practical for the amount of work we need to put in. Is a little passive aggressive i just wish i saw this site before taking her course. Big pass.
Took EES612 with her, not sure what I was thinking doing this again. Very theory heavy, which can be good and bad. I took 747 online and the amount of time given was insane. The fact that she expects us to be as well-versed in the material for this class as she has after pursuing it as a career is a far reach.
Dr. Jassar is amazing. She challenges you as a student but she is very willing to help out if she sees effort. She is super smart and her lectures are intense. Very important to ask questions during lectures. Overall, extremely helpful and thorough with her explanations. Exams were tough, but its an engineering course right?
Great prof! Cares about her students, is very understanding and kind. Enjoyed taking a course with her!
She absolutely annihilated us first years for this year. If she's your course coordinator, you're done for.
Had a terrible experience taking ele202 with her. Her lectures are mediocre at best and she can come off as sarcastic when you ask a simple question. Her test were extremely difficult and a lot of the class failed. RUN!!!
I still get sleep paralysis every time i think of the ele midterm. HARDEST midterm ive ever wrote in my life, if prof jassar is the only prof available, i guess you have no choice, but stay away at all costs if there's another prof. No part marks given, marked hard asf, midterm avg was prob (25%) no joke and still no curve. I will probably drop it
Her theory confuses me a lot. After some youtube search I realized, she over-complicates things. During the lecture she does some simple examples. Easy circuits and everyone follows. The midterm came and I was devastated. Midterm was not like the examples we did in the class. I studied hard but I wasn't anywhere near ready for this test.
Easily hands down the hardest first year course. 40-50% of everyone taking ele202 has probably dropped. Atleast 80% of students failed the midterm. An analogy is imagine the lectures, practice midterm, labs, tutorials are level 5 boss, and the midterm was lvl 100 boss. Also Jassar is probably hands down one of the stingiest markers in the dept.
Dr. Jassar is very knowledgeable. Her lectures are very good. She replies to emails very quickly.
Very fundamental course and Dr. Jassar explains all concepts clearly. The lecture notes are very organized.
She acts as if she cares but she doesn't she refuses to take the student's word when something is difficult if she can do it you can do it, the hardest course in my first year for sure and its not even close.
Terrible Professor, doesn't reply to emails and the course lessons are nothing compared to her midterms, she claims to care but doesn't if you try. I asked for study advice and her response was "keep studying", she refuses to believe her tests are hard even though the average is 30%. Good Luck first year's hardest course for me it's not close.
Listen to me if you value your grades, i'd rather take PCS211, PCS125, and MTH141 combined over this course with such a garbage professor. Extremely rude and speeds through lessons. She even gets mad at student for questions. Like we are trying to learn and pass and she is ruining that for everybody; so many people dropped the course because of her
Trash Professor. Worst course in the entire first year of ECB engineers. And it's all because of her pathetic job in allowing students to succeed. Carry on...
Honestly jassar teaching isnt that bad and her notes are nice. Thats about all the compliments i got for this course tho. But, she screwed everyone over for the midterm. Verdict: subpar prof at best
Avoid her at all costs. She is not helpful at all, she will fail 60% of the class and send out an email blaming the students. Her class average is a whooping 30% after the curve.
She makes fun of students' questions..........................................................................
Honestly just bother yourself with having her as ur prof, let alone as a course coordinator, cuz she will make sure to fail you and around 65% of the class. The midterm average was around 30% after the curve and she wonders why ppl dropped the class
Jus no
I'm literally pulling 80s and 90s in all of my other courses (Ecn801, Mth240, Cps188) but I had to drop ele202 after the midterm. Jassar has a really bad attitude towards her students, mediocre lessons at best. Hands down stingiest marker out of any prof I've ever met in my life. Blames her students when 60% of the class has dropped. Inspirational!
She is unfair to those that failed the midterm(the higher the mark, the higher the curve). About 60% of the class dropped this course and the midterm avg was prob between 15-20% with the curve. She makes the course even worse than it should be by giving an attitude when students ask for clarification and by making the test very intense.
A prof who fails to educate students, hence why over 60% of the students dropped this course. Horrible professor.
Of the two profs that were teaching the course Dr Jassar's lectures and notes were much more useful and easier to understand for me. This course is just hard and no matter who the prof is you will likely struggle without giving a lot of effort. Dr Jassar does a good enough job teaching for you to succeed if you attend the lectures and pay attention
why does this prof rate herself? Very insecure and bashes students for not putting in any effort. How tf does 60% of the class who dropped the course not put effort in the course??? Just don'w even consider this professor
The recent review which was given 4.0 stars in quality (tho factual about the difficulty), will never be able to touch a woman in his life. go touch some grass you sloppy toppy teacher's pet
All the good reviews are bots/Jassar.
Honestly a 2.3/5 is a bit too much for her
She was a great teacher she helped me understand the course material rly well. Although the Midterm was very hard and resulted in low marks I think she prepared us with all the information to do well but no one took the course seriously until after the midterm. This can be seen because there were lots of good marks for the midterm. Great teacher.
so-so
Not a fair course coordinator.
To be honest, this prof is the opposite of most other profs at Ryerson. There are great profs for ECN, MTH and CPS courses. These profs try to help you improve your GPA and make sure you pass your course. Dr.Jassar's intention is to make more money by failing students and that they take it over the spring/sum which could create higher income. Bruh.
Redemption Arc incoming... a new stage for the protagonist that is I. God. Everyone. Watch me flourish. Stay tuned.
This class is so mess up, ahlie. Like fam, why she failin everyone. Trus' me, if it ain't gonna work, imma be an entrepreneur and be more successful than a typical engineer that pass jassar's course. like watch me dawg. so mess up like bare mans donno how to do this. writin fake reviews for herself, ahlie. we no u r readin this, ay.
Very good professor. Midterm and exams were easy but long, is the lack of time that gets you.
She is so rude with her attitude. she doesn't tolerate questions. You have to know what is going on without asking.
well organized prof. Very clear to understand and she tells you what to focus on for the tests and exams.
Good prof.
I'm not going to come on here and lie, the class is absurdly hard to pass and the final is 40% of your grade. But Professor Jassar's lectures are actually amazing. She knows what she's doing and she covers the course material in a way that is very understandable. I would have never passed this course without her. Please just attend the lectures.
Professor Jassar is a wonderful prof. As long as you attend her lectures and follow along as she does the examples, you should be able to get a decent grade. I took her class for summer and she chose to mark all the midterms herself and is very generous with marking. She might seem rude when answering questions, but she just has a loud voice.
All these mans complaining about Jasser didn't study for the test, goated prof would take again no cap.
Her notes were very organized and she had recordings for all of her lectures which really helped. Better and far more organized than the other profs teaching ELE202.
The course itself is very challenging. Jassar imo prepares you decently well for the midterm and exam. Do not be fooled by the past papers provided as the midterm and exam were much harder for us. Be ready to do complex circuits on the evaluations. Make sure you have a great TA for this course as the labs and tutorials impact your grade a lot.
Even though the course was still tough, Dr. Jassar's lectures made it much easier since she made hard concepts easy to understand. She also posted all her lecture recordings, so I was able to skip the lectures but was still caught up with the course. Also, the difficulty rating of the professor is more based on the difficulty of the course.
Great prof. She recorded her lectures, and they were clear and concise, very easy to follow. Ask questions in class and she makes sure to answer them in a clear manner. Would definitely take her again
Honestly, she's a very good professor. This was one of the most difficult courses but she made it easy for us and I think most of my classmates who followed her lectures would agree. She provides lots of examples and explains everything step by step.
Took Mohammadi first and got screwed because of her inadequate explanations and assumption that we all understand what's going on. Retook this class with Jassar and she is simply the best. Clear and simple explanations, great notes, and prepares you really well for the midterm and final.
Very good professor. Exams/Midterms look very similar to her review sessions. Lenient marker. She is very respectful and does her best to see her students succeed.
Professor Jassar is a very knowledgeable and straightforward professor. Her lectures are a little heavy especially if you have the morning lecture but regardless she knows how to deliver the material in an understandable manner. Midterm and Exam are theory-heavy so ensure you understand the material.
Goated professor. This is what MJ is to basketball, what Wayne Gretzky is to hockey, what the rat teeth JT from Chick Fil A THINKS he is in basketball. For real though, W professor. Just pay attention and do the assignments and practice. Just stay committed and y'all will be fine.
Explained the concepts very well. She showed very good examples during lectures. Her midterm and final are fair just make sure you study and understand the examples she goes over and review other questions from the textbook if you can.
She told us it's her first time in years to be teaching this course, and I can tell you her lectures are so good; she goes over topics slowly and doesn't get too confusing with the theory. She is open to questions, records her lectures, and posts her notes; I would say she is the best professor for this course this semester.
very good prof
Best notes.
She is an amazing professor to have, without her I would not have passed ELE302 with such a high mark. Her lectures are straightforward and she does final exam examples with you to help understand the concept behind each lecture.
She's a great prof, super caring, and has amazing lectures. EES 512 was really hard but at least she made it tolerable.
Prof. Jassar has a strong personality. She has a bad attitude and doesn't know how to answer questions without unhinged criticism. She's good at teaching overall and understands if you have a problem with the labs or class material. Her attitude can detract from the classroom experience; maintaining focus on the material can help lessen its impact.
I think Dr. Jassar knows most of her students are S tier bubs. So she is pretty rude to everyone. If she can recognize you as a serious student that pays attention and tries, her kind side comes out. Regardless, her explanations are very clear and she does tons of examples to help prepare for exams. But I can understand why some don't like her.
Good notes, Posts recordings and does good examples. Sometimes her notes do get messy but if you attend her classes you should be fine.
I can understand why some people don't like her but I honestly thought she was good. She's very knowledgeable about what she teaches. She definitely seems like a bit of a tough character but she's pretty friendly. Her exams are slightly difficult but nothing extra crazy. Spend a lot of time doing her lecture examples, they're very useful.
She does a great job of making the content easy to understand and straight to the point. She explains things clearly without overcomplicating them, which makes learning a lot smoother. Sometimes she spends a bit too much time on theory, but she makes up for it with plenty of good examples.
Very good lectures
Shouldve had A+, very informational, goes through a copius amount of examples, straightforward, wants students to do well.
goes through A LOT of examples, everything seen on finals or midterms are always seen in the lectures, straightforward marking, really good prof.
Jassar's the goat of ELE. Don't let the rating fool you, the bad ratings are probably from bum students that never attended or paid attention to Jassar's lectures. She gives the exam problems in the lecture and explains how to solve them. She also records the lectures and notes, literally the goat.
this my homegirl dont play, her lectures have truly helped me pass every ele thus far. she does go into theory and wastes some time on content irrelevant to exams (but prob relevant to the field/supplement your understanding) but she does LOTS of examples, and doesn't skip steps. Her exam reviews are heaven sent, WATCH THEM(esp if ur not caught up)
She is rude, but she's also super nice. It all depends on how much of a bub you are. Her midterm reviews are often very similar to the actual exam and her lectures are very helpful in understanding material. Her lectures are also online which makes it easier for people to not show up, but it creates a nice 1-1 atmosphere in her lectures.
She is really rude, does not answer questions properly instead just gives rude responses, always asks after every slide any questions and then gets irritated/answers sarcastically when someone asks. like why does she even bother asking if she isn't gonna respond properly. Talks a lot and really fast.
Accent can be kind of hard to understand sometimes but otherwise she is really good. She records all her lectures and her exam reviews are the best.
Amazing professor, very clear and great practice examples that help prepare you for the test. Very underrated prof, made all ELE's up until 404 really easy.
Goat. Best prof at tmu
One of the better profs. Just watch the recorded lectures, do the assigned problems, easy A.
Explains theory slowly with an annotated explanation, does examples from the textbook, does midterm/final exam questions, hosts exam review and she records 90% of her lectures. goated prof alongside Dr. Mohammadi in that shit show of a department.
She is good in general but it is hard to stay awake in her lecture but she cares for her student.
Good prof, records lectures and explains questions and concepts well. Overall a good prof would recommend
