She is an excellent professor!!! Kind, caring, sweet, very intelligent, great insight. Very helpful. She really wants her students to learn and succeed. A very inspirational teacher!

I thought she was going to be hard but if you stay on top of the work, you can't go wrong. She gives you a chance to write about what you want. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it because she can be very helpful. Definitely recommended.

I love Prof. Bachmann, but be warned, her class is not for people who have trouble managing time or who don't like to read. There is a lot of homework (usually just for credit, not a grade) and a lot of discussion. She gives constructive crtiticism and makes herself available to the students.

Yes, she makes you read, it's an English class! Prof. Bachmann is extremely helpful and makes it easy to pass her class if you do the work. Her notes on papers are great, and she is really nice. If you want to have a fun english class where you'll learn a lot, take her! I loved her!!!!

Bachmann is an Eng. teacher in every sense of the word. She assigns tons of pointless work, grades on a scale only SHE can understand, and expects a lot out of you. Easy grader, but expect pop quizzes. Her class is a breeze if you keep up with the work. Participation will make or break your grade.

Very caring and compassionate. Passionate about the subject and very engaging. She loves John Malkovich and is just so happened that every book we read's movie version had him in it. Haha, she's really cool, and wears a barette every day that matches her shoes and blazer.

Introduction to a wide variety of literature, which she knows well and covers thoroughly. The class is slow paced and material is spoon-fed, with great emphasis on everyone arriving at the same conclusions and key points, to relate in essay form.

This class focused on comparing and contrasting literature and film. Professor Bachmann knows how to stimulate constructive conversation in her class and is expert at drawing out the best in each student. Her material and assignments were stimulating. I highly recommend this course and plan to take future English classes with Dr. Bachmann.

This teacher was good at the beginning but poetry is my weakness. other than that just show up to class and do the work. attendance matters most in this class. i swear she grades papers partialy with attendence cause i had some good papers and she gave me a C towards the end of the semester. i woulnt' take her again

Her class isn't easy, Essay can be tricky she looks for a certain point of view,(her way or the highway) shes very helpful and she does match..

I feel she is the most helpful teacher I have had and she is also really nice, you just have to at least try doing the work and she will help you.

good at explaining but she gets a little to in depth about everything. easy grader & there are a lot of discussion you think & talk about things to death but thats basically any crit thinking class. she always gets really excited about the subject which can get REALLY annoying but besides that shes pretty helpful & clear of what she wants from you.

Dr. Bachmann is a great professor. She is very keen of implicit literature, like poetry. I'm not too fond of poetry, but she can help you better understand it through her lectures and discussions. She's kind of "artsy-fartsy," but this just manifests her erudition and lofty intellect. She's not exactly the easiest grader, but I earned an A!

An amazing teacher. One of ECC's best. Turned me on to poetry and Shakespeare,which I didn't appreciate at all before! Basically you can do as well as you want to in her class because she's helpful! Most importantly, taught me how to think for myself!!!

Great proffessor, she just vibrates with energy and you can tell she loves the subject she chose to teach. She gives HW but it's mainly reading and preparing for Essays, she takes whole classes for peer editing sessions for the essays and they actually do help unlike with some teachers. I very highly reccommend her.

She wrote the book on English (literally, the book you use in class is Authored by her). She's very helpful and the homework she does give is mainly reading and essay work. 5 Essays total in the class (2 of them are in class essays), 1 research paper.

Dr. Bachmann is a wonderful teacher, she cares that you understand her assignments. She is very mild mannered. I think she is one of the best at ElCamino College. I took her last semester for English 1A-Honors and I am taking her again this semester for English 1C. I highly recommends her.

Most of the comments below are true. She is a nice teacher but is extremely analytical, focuses on racial issues, and women's rights. It gets old being a white male in her class. We wrote 3 essays and a few in class ones. No homework most of the time, just work on essays. I would take her again though. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS!

There's a plentiful amount of reading involved. 5 essays total for semester, including 2 in-class essays and 1 research paper. Class isn't too bad. She grades fairly and is always there to help.

Ms. Bachmann is a very chill teacher. She readily accepts any ideas from her students. Participation is a big part of her class. The essays she assigns are pretty straightforward:3-4 typed essays,a few in-class ones. We also work in groups many times.It's an easy class.There's no way u can fail this class. Just don't slack off.Don't be tardy!

She's a decent teacher but tends to grade essays on how well you represent her ideas, not your own. She makes students participate and is extremely enthusiastic about the material.

She is a very nice human being, really kind at heart and she treats the students like friends instead of just students. She will always listen to you no matter how much you have to say and nothing you say is useless to her. This class really helped me in improving my writing skills. It helped me to actively think and analyze a variety of essays and poems. There are quite a few essays to write, but no more than the average college class. Literature is interesting and varied. She's really nice and encouraging, never puts anyone on the spot. Great learning environment :)

Dr. Bachmann is the only professor you want to have for Shakespeare. She made it interesting and fun, but i learned ALOT.This class honestly prepared me for a big university. Bachmann is super patient. If you have a passion for reading then you will love her class. If you do not agree with her she marks you down, that's the only bad thing but attend class,read, and participate actively and you'll pass the class with ease

She is a very good teacher. I had her for English 1A Honors and I was worried I wouldnt do well in an honors class, but she teaches well. There is a lot of reading and at least 5 essays but she prepares you for every one and is always willing to help you. I would deffinetly recomend her as a teacher. This professor is very, very nice. She will do anything to make you succeed in her class! Before she gives you an essay, she will basically ANALYZE everything you need to know for the essay. I could have gotten an A in her class but I got very lazy. If you put your time and dedication into her class you will definitely pass! She is the BEST!!

Dr. Bachmann is a really good teacher. I had a fear of writing when I started her class and she helped me overcome my fear and deliver "A" papers. Attendance is required. If you want to increase your grade you must participate in class. Take her if you want to learn.

Very nice professor and helpful. She explains things well and makes it easy to understand. She gives you plenty of time to write research paper and brakes it down into sections, which made it easier for me to do. Be prepare to read and take quizzes and don't be late to class.

Took Shakespeare class. You have not met someone with a passion for Shakespeare until you meet Bachmann! She's super into Shakespeare and really goes in depth w/ it and makes you appreciated it. Like any other English class, participation is essential. She expects to hear from everyone during lectures but she doesn't expect much in terms of what they say. It's almost like there aren't any wrong answers to her, but only if your answer sounds like you read the material. TestQuizzes are mult. choice and easy. Barely any homework. JUST READ

If you are planning to take ENG1AH professor Bachmann expects you to work hard. We had two quizzes from readings (Pride and Prejudice and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), and five essays for a semester. She also expects students to do homework and participate in class.

This is a solid professor. She's kind and clear, and gives valuable comments when grading essays. She isn't as open-minded or charismatic as I'd like. Those weaknesses are negligible if you're something of a wallflower as a student, but they might be unacceptable if you're passionate in class discussion or writing and have a differing opinion.
