Professor Beckwith is intellegent and smart, no matter what others on here may say. On top of that she is soo nice. Very approachable. She teaches you how to look at the text in a deeper perspective. She is super nice & funny but her class is kinda hardcore. There is LOTS of reading to do but she's very helpful if you don't understand something. 500-750 word essays are due every week but what sucks is they're only worth 10% of the final grade so you do a lot of work for not a lot of credit. Professor Beckwith is one of the nicest most sincere professors I've ever had especially at OU. We had 5 essay exams which were all online and super easy A's if you put in some time and work. Participation matters only at the second half of the semester once she starts keeping track but that literally is the only downfall. Overall she's awesome!

Your class will be cancelled at least once a week on average, and you won't receive any kind of individual feedback AT ALL. This professor has no idea how to organize her assignments, expect to ask for clarification every time. Participation is a huge chunk of your grade, so don't take it if you don't want to fight other students to be heard.

I had this course online over the summer. It was very intense. Lots of reading, 3-quizes, and novel essays on literary devices, a narrative term paper, and a final.
