She needs to communicate more to the lecturer as she's a lab instructor for our course. But she's a very good teacher! If unclear, ask her questions, she's always happy to answer. The previous comment is too mean.
very thourough instructor. she delivers a lecture with a calm easy style. Her tests are fair and come entirely from her lecture. I highly reccomend her for both lab and lecture.
A very boring and unemotional lady, i'm glad she understands the material, but she can't really convey it to the class.
She doesn't explain clearly about the labs...She sucks...
Marine Biology is supposed to be fun. This teacher is NOT. She is flat boring, and her labs are unclear. She even embarassed me in front of class, once. The only upside is her tests come straight from lecture, though the note-taking is laborious.
This teacher has classes 7:30am. She is hardly absent, very boring, will make you take up to 6 pages of notes a day. The whole test is based on notes only. DONT BUY THE BOOK. Tell friends to sign in for you she doesn't take roll.A very boring easy teacher
nice lady, but boring and sometimes not clear. BUT!!!! If you ASK HER she will be more than happy to take the time to explain it to you and will even meet with you out of class to help. WAY TOO MANY NOTES. Have someone sign in for you...no roll!
If you are a visual learner take her class, notes are written on overhead projector, don't buy the book you don't need it! take her class if you are not very strong in Biology she'll make it easier!
she is a great techer. she is clear and precise with her lectures. she made the class fun and interesting.
she is a very nice professor. if you have questions, she will gladly answer them. her tests are straight off the lecture. she lectures very well. her lab isnt difficult at all. you do not need to buy the book that she recommends.
She's a great teacher, she practically does the work for you, if you need a Bio Class take this one!
Great instructor! She does a great job of making biology understandable and interesting for everyone. Definately would refer her to others.
Definately a lot of notetaking in this class. Didn't really read the book that much. Her style is kind of boring/very monotone voice, her exams are all mutiple choice. easy if you take careful notes.
She is very good teacher. She does the notes for you overhead the whole class which is all you really need. The book is helpfull but not necessary since she covers it anyhow. Super fair and nice if your having problems, talk with her, she helped me.
easy A, but note intesive, no textbook needed, boring lab
Teacher has a big ego because a lot of these "positive" comments are probably from her. Anyways, she is the most horribly boring teacher in the world, her labs stink, and even the field trip is disorganized...
She is very unorganized and not helpful at all. Not recommended
Teachs too fast.
Very help full as a teacher. Lecture is a bit too fast but i took her durring the winter sesion. as long as you pay attention and do the labs class should be easy. all in all a good teacher
what a nice lady!!! I can say she is the best and easiest bio teacher you can find in PCC. I took her in winter, just spent few hours reviewing the notes before taking the test! (cuz ALL the questions in tests are from notes) EASY A!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
She is very easy just be sure to come to class and be prepared to take alot of notes.
no recommended for international student....her lecture is too fast....she thought everyone is native English speaker....waste my money and time...
Before taking her class in the winter, I was nervous about bio. However, she made it so easy! I never had to read the book because all the material she tests you on is in her lecture. Easy class if you just attend and take notes.
This is a teacher who is obviously passionate about biology. She can answer virtually any question you have about it and is also nice. She is firm and teaches pretty fast. You'll take lots of notes but the tests are based STRAIGHT from the notes and not the textbook. There is a lot of memorization involved.
The best bio teacher you can take, because I've seen other bio teachers. Yeah, she goes through lecture pretty fast, but it's not too bad. Just ask questions to slow her down. She'll be glad to answer your questions. She's very nice and helpful. I'm glad I took her class.
She is very passionate & knowledgeable about Biology. There is a lot to memorize but the tests are based only from lectures. Show up to class and study your notes and you will get a good grade. No need to purchase the textbook. She is a very nice teacher and willing to help you if you need it.
TAKE THIS CLASS! No textbook needed, her tests are straight from lecture. Very nice and interesting, I learned a lot, and I don't really like bio!
yeah she is fast teacher, but she is easy. a lot of note taking if you don't understand the lecture just go to the book and you'll understand it. sometimes there are fieldtrips. there's no need to buy the book if you are good listener and you can write fast. but trust me she is easy.
SHE IS THE BEST.PROF BOWERS HELPS YOU IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE JUST SHOW UP TO HE LETURES AND LAB AND YOU GOT IT DOWN. SHE SIMPLY TELLS YOU WHAT IS ON THE TEST NO SUPRISES AND IF YOU GET A SUPRISE IT IS PROBABLY EXTRA CREDIT TAKE HER FOR SURE.
She's a fair grader and very knowledgeable! Highly recommended!
is there all tests multiple choice???
Dr. Bower is a great prof. and really trys to help her students. Her test are right off her lecture so dont buy the book!!! So just study the lecture notes and you'll pass the class. And the lectures are powerpoint.
forget taking sleeping pills.. just sit in her boring ass class and watch her fall in love with the sound of her own voice.
She's an awesome teacher. Just pay attention in lectures, do the simple labs, and you'll get an A. No need to buy the book to get an A on her multiple-choice exams. Don't be late, or you'll miss information that might be a test question.
there are quizes to her lab everyweek. most of the stuff she lectures on are not on the test. she like to trick people, she goes on and on. non stop writing from start to end. very hard teacher. don't take her if you disike writing so much.
I'm taking her class now, and her class is sooooooo easy~!!! The tests are mostly from her lecture notes, and those are all multiple choices..
THIS PROF IS VERY NICE. SHE IS CONCERN WITH ALL HER STUDENTS GRADES, AND IS GENERALLY VERY CLEAR IN HER LECTURES, RARELY GETS OFF TRACK WITH ANYTHING. SHE MIGHT BE ABSENT A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN OTHER TEACHERS, BUT OVERALL SHE IS FUN. THE LABS GENERALLY HAVE ONE SHORT QUIZ AT THE END OF EACH MEETING. AND HER TESTS ARE SOME WHAT DIFFICULT, BUT STUDY!
LOVE her class! She's very passionate about the subject, so she does lecture a LOT. Don't need to buy the book just the lab manual. Her tests basically come from the powerpoint...buy a thumbdrive and she'll copy the pp to you. easy A
easy class, lot of extra credit. its a mistake to buy the text book. somehow the class is boring, but i never attend it. you'll need tumb-drive to copy her lecture, and thats all you have to study for the test.
this teacher never be on time, of course the days we have exams as well. we have to wait for her in early morning. and she canceles classes a lot. she doesn't organize class and skips lots of chapters.
Great class to take for the IGETC Lab requirement. Lectures are all on Powerpoint and if you bring a thumbdrive you can download the lectures. But it's better to write the notes down during class, then look over the powerpoint later so you wont have to study to much. Tests are not very difficult and are all multiple choice. But no retakes
excellent teacher, fair grading. need to study noted and read chapter. pay attention to extra material, she asks question about them on tests.
Class is like a routine. Basically its just come to class, lecture and test. No point in buying the book (which I did not buy luckily). The class is easy as long as u study her notes. And one more thing, she's kinda anal on cheating. Either than that she's pretty cool. Wish she made the class more interesting though. GOOD LUCK!!
Great for non majors... very helpful when in need... just don't piss her off... then she won't be very helpful... good for non majors... don't know about majors...
She's friendly but authoritative when necessary. Disorganized at times but i found it charming. Don't really need the book, but take lots of notes.
Tests are tricky, text book is hard to use in her class. She uses a lot of power points and gives reading. You need spend at least 2 hours per day and you should be fine.
I take poor notes, so I rate her A+ on her lecture outlines(very detailed). KEY: master her lecture outlines, and you've mastered the course. I started out liking her, but ending up disliking her and her rudeness; If I took her for a different course, it would only be because of her lecture outline, and intensity.
She isn't a bad professor but she sometimes be strict with her students.Tests are medium, you need to study hard and earn your grade!
She made this class sooo much fun! I really enjoyed this class. She is very approachable and has a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend this class. The work load isnÂ’t heavy and the group projects are fun to do.
Good teacher! I took this class bc I had to for my major, but ended up liking bio a lot! Attendace is not mandatory but her notes during class are helpful. Read each ch. before a test and you should do fine. Typical class, great teacher.
Her lecture is very clear. But she is very tough and strict to Bio1A students because it is a major course. She's kind of impatiant when you ask questions. Grading is fair but you have to work really really hard to get a descent grade.
overall the best professor at PCC! always willing to help and even lets you download her lectures if you bring in a flash drive. makes the lectures interesting. tests are extremely easy if you listen to the lectures and pay attention in class.
Prof Bower is the best professor at PCC, attendance is not mandatory. Please do not buy the book, it is useless. Easy test, straight from the notes. She is helpful teacher, super kind, and friendly. Totally recommended.. TAKE HERE
Listen carefully to what she says.
nice teacher
The best science teacher i've ever had!
This class is so EASY!!! Attend class and copy all the notes, review them before test and you will get an A
She is really smart and knows what she is talking about. this class is not for slackers you have to work hard for you grade and she is just wonderful and its college so and life is always going to be hard so i recommend this professor if you want to learn something.
THE BEST SCIENCE TEACHER IVE EVER HAD hands down. she knows the material and she can answer any question u have. the work loas isnt alot. no homework. but the test scores matter and they are based on in class lectures. so pay attention and take notes. overall i loved it!
1 key to success in her class: take a note and write down what she said. It's just that simple... I love her class n lucky enough to have great lab's friends.
I loved her. She is such a great teacher! All you have to do is take great notes, which is easy to do! Listen to everything she says. If you do that i guarantee an A. I became great friends with my lab table. I got the best grade out of them all because i took better notes and i wasn't even there for every class. Good Luck!
I love Dr Bower, it just as simply as that. She's a wonderful professor. Those people who think she's strict or it is a hard course, because they dont study, nor take their time to learn. When they got bad grad, they complained in here. Strongly recommend her~TAKE HER CLASS YOU WON'T REGRET!
The best Bio teacher I've ever had!! she knows whatc shes teaching!! awesome professor
Although the subject matter can be dry--especially at 7am--if you pay attention in class and take good notes there is almost no doubt that you will get an A on the tests. Her tests are almost all extra credit anyways.
She is great and she cares. I sit in the front and I really listen to everything she teaches. It is really a fun class if you make it so. Ask her questions, she will answer them with great detail. Not hard at all if you take good notes. And make your presentation interesting. Got an A, and so can u!
Whoever says that she's rude is out of their mind. Dr. Bower is one of the nicest people I have come across at PCC. She is an excellent teacher, and knows her stuff well...she is one of those people who can't stop running their mouth when you ask one simple question (the answer is in that long explanation somewhere, you just got to dig to find).
AWESEOME ! enuff said. Take notes, study them and get A. It's simple as that. Read your textbook for sections covered in class, then getting an A is more guranteed. I basically study the night before for about 3 to 5 hours before every test, got A at the end with 91%. Dr. Bower= SIMPLY THE BEST and a very cute and energetic young lady :).
her favorite sentence is "if u think ur way through." i like her because she doesn't seem fake and girly she is a little clumsy. when students dont answer her questions in class she just answer them for us and never be mad like some prof. who get mad about why student dont answer. bower is optimistic
Dr. Bower is an excellent professor! She runs scantrons right after exams so that you can get your grade right away, and know why you made exam mistakes. Study spelling and plural forms of terms. The only sad thing is 1/2 the class OPENLY cheats on labs, but 1/2 the class is receiving an F. Stop cheating, do your own work, and you will do fine!
She's the best
I like her class! She only test you on the things she go over in class, so the tests become very easy if you just study your notes! no need to get a textbook. Take her!
She tests on the lecture only. If you read the book you dont have to go to lecture lab is fun if you like cells and bio in general and they are easy too.
Great Professor! There are no big surprises on the exams just the material she covered. Would definitely recommend her to everyone taking biology.
This is the hardest course I ever took. I really worked hard, but got a good grade. If you take copious notes in lecture you'll do well. Very fast paced. Labs are fun.
Take this class of you want to pass bio!!! She's really nice and all of her tests are based on her notes that she takes in class. 65 percent is a C in her class so it shouldn't be a problem to pass. I highly recommend this teacher!
A very nice and knowledgeable Professor. Very reachable and very patient on explaining things. Her tests are all based on her PowerPoint. Therefore tests are easy if you have good English, because there are many difficult terms to memorize. But, overall a fun class.
Really great teacher. You don't really need the book as long as you take good notes and don't dose off. Exams easy, alot of it ends being extra credit so over 100% is possible. I have over 100% in this class and I have struggled in the past in school but a great teacher is all you need to have interest and she truly knows how to teach the facts.
Great Teacher!! Exams are straight foward. Unlike some teachers I have had, she doesn't waste class time on tangents. She only teaches things that will be on the exam and she doesn't give anything on exam that is not covered in lecture. You have no reason to not get an B or higher unless you just don't care, then that is your fault.
Bower is a very nice and fantastic professor. The semester I took she had to cancel a few classes for health reasons, but she was always rescheduled due dates accordingly. Her exams were typically easy, with little points being weighted on the lab. A very attainable A!
BEST TEACHER EVER! Her lectures take up the whole class period & sometimes she goes super fast so I suggest you record her because sometime she says things she doesn't put in the notes. NO quizes & her test are straight from the notes, all multiple choice. Honestly you can pass her test by studying just the notes. TAKE HER!
BEST BIOLOGY TEACHER! LOVE HER PERSONALITY..IF I CAN I WOULD TAKE HER AGAIN!THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU!
I'm a diver, so I was already interested in Marine Bio, BUT with all that aside, She is an AMAZING Professor. Absolutely my favorite! She always explains things to the fullest extent fpr question. Tests are all based on lecture notes (with a few things from vids/side notes). She's so sweet, like a mom, and I wish I could take her again! <3 you Dr!
She's GREAT. Just listen to her and re-read the notes. Did not really interact that much with her, but she is always willing to help anyone. She knows biology extremely well.
Professor Bower is great. She gives really engaging lectures. I learned a lot in her General Bio section!
Honestly one of the best teachers I've had at PCC. Super clear lectures and curved tests. Make sure you study carefully for her exams they are quite lengthy. Only complaint is she was late frequently but still a good professor.
Her labs are the only thing that is "easy" in this class. Although you get marked off for certain things that does not fit her criteria. Her tests are EXTREMELY difficult and painful to study for, having to memorize her lecture slides & textbk. The prerequisite for the class is Chem 1A, but for her you need to know O. Chemistry in order to do well.
She talks forever.
Dr. Bowers is a great professor. Her lectures are long, but that is the nature of the class. She is very clear and will always help if you ask her for it. Tests are thorough and you have to study.
First: I am a bio student. I REALLY liked Prof Bower.. as a person. She's a great person & she respects students. However, lectures are long & it drags. You will only know your grade ONCE during the whole semester. Labs & small assignments are VERY easy & graded leniently. Don't be fooled though, test are TOUGH & MUST be studied relentlessly for.
One of my favorite profs at PCC. Her lectures are clear cut and she really tries to make sure the class is understanding before she moves on. Tests are heavily based on the lecture and her powerpoints are very helpful. Overall really engaging and interesting class. Labs are interesting and fun. Tests are usually curved a bit.
good
Long lectures (prepare to sit for hours at a time) but overall Professor Bower's lectures are clear (albeit fast-paced) and as long as you study, you should be prepared for the tests.
Dr. B is an awesome professor. Her lectures can be kind of long, but they're not bad, especially if you're actually interested in marine biology. She doesn't give too many assignments, so be sure to study for her exams.
Bower's class is so early in the morning... hard to stay awake during lectures. Pretty much had to self-teach. Her powerpoints are accessible online so it's easier to study for tests. Her tests are pretty easy and straight to the point.
Shes a gives extra credit on exams and curved some of the free response portions of the exam. Read the book and you'll be fine on the tests. She has long lectures. Overall, just understand what your reading.
She is hands down probably one of my favorite professors! Now for a non bio major class she doesn't go too into depth. Make sure you attend class and take really good notes. The tests are only hard if you don't go to lecture the power point will only help with half. Flashcards were a must for me before a test! She is extremely helpful!!
She is a great bio professor. She doesn't give studies for her test because she wants us to get use to the UC and Cal system, where they won't give you study guys. She doesn't baby students, but she is there to help. She might look strict, but she is very helpful. You should always go to class and Lab, if you skip out on lab, bad final.
Lectures from PP slides. So why is attendance mandatory? Got an A but not because of her lecture skills. Learned on my own. Why does she drops students even if they are getting an A? Time for new professors.
The textbook is not needed to get an A in her class. I was able to rely solely on the powerpoint she provided to study for her tests. If you don't understand a process, be sure to ask. Be specific in the free response problems and you'll be fine. Do all the work she assigns and be sure to attend class.
She's caring, nice, and knowledgable. Her exams are based on the powerpoint slides but I find reading the book helps you understand the material better. The lectures are quite tedious. I took the Winter class so she had to rush through the slides, giving us very little time to write down the notes. The good thing is everything's on Canvas.
Dr. Bower is a great teacher and lecturer. Her lectures are long and definitely will make you sleepy, but they are clear and everything she lectures is on the test. You can study off her PowerPoint to pass the class, but in order to get an A you either need to read the book or listen to her lecture. Her tests consists of MCQ and FR both curved.
I usually don't write reviews but I had to. Because of COVID-19, it became online. She expects you to do everything that you would usually do in regular in-class. You have like 5 assignments due in one week with short given time. Even had to give presentation online. She doesn't give enough time. She thinks we are some kind of robots.
She is nice and good at explaining and all but she really expected us to take the class as nothing has happened. Assignment due at assigned date that she created for her non-covid 19 class. No extension or not even a second late. I wasn't able to turn in a few assignments.
I had this class right when covid 19 happened and professor bower did her absolute best to make sure students understood the material. She had lots of office hours, all lectures were accessible, and lots of reviews. I recommend listening to her lectures at least 2 times as a way to study and always do the hw assignments and you will do good.
I took Bio10A with Professor Bower for Summer 2020 and I LOVED it! She had office hours every week so you can contact her if you want to go over quizzes or to clarify things. The class is really fast paced so you CANNOT slack off, you have no time to. She does voice overs on her powerpoints and there's no final, only quizzes for each unit. Amazing!
Class was fairly easy, she provides study guides and PowerPoints with voice overs, she really caring if you let her know your situation if any. Just stay on top of work and youll be good.
You have to be able to SELF STUDY!!! Lecture are boring and she grade free reponses on the exam VERY harshly. Don't take her. You been warned!
Professor Bower works really hard to give a fair opportunity for all of her students. She is smart and kind and provides multiple office hours. She has amazing lecture videos that are covered in her quizzes throughout the semester. If you work hard and are diligent, you will love this class. I definitely did.
She marks off points for the most stupid things. I feel like I am in elementary school with her stupid fill in the blank lecture notes. I would rather watch the lecture and take my own notes instead of worrying about these useless assignments. She marked points off because I did not write my name on the homework, even though the class is online.
Beware her lecture vids & slides aren't the same & not clear either. She has the tendency to repeat her words for every lecture slide & confuse u just so it sounds like she's not repeating herself. I don't mind the hw since its simple, but she simply grades on the stupidest things. Also u only have 45mins of doing the quiz w/ 20 ques. Confusing!
I love the way Dr. Bower teaches. She gives homework assignments that are like guided notes so that you can easily review from them for the quizzes. Everything you need to know/do well on the quizzes come directly from her lectures. Watch them multiple times. She is so caring and kind. Make the effort to do well and you will!
Out of everyone in the bio you should take her. Saying that tho, she grades hw every hard and you will only lose points from it. Next, if you only study the review sheet and slides that she says are enough you will not pass. she says the book isn't needed but she is wrong. The book is more useful than her lectures and slides combined.
Nitpicks about tiny details on review sheets and assignments. Use the textbook because the lectures aren't detailed enough for review on quizzes. Looked forward to my first bio class, but her attitude and tone put me off the first day. Definitely is not understanding of personal situations or caring, and stay on her good side. Key Word: Participate
If you want to pass Bio10A with an A, then you should avoid this class. Her assignments are designed to make your grade go down. Her method of grading HW is outrageous. Has "fill in the blank review sheets" which proved to be of no use throughout the entirety of her class. Offers no extra credit. Will critique your work instead of teaching.
She can't teach or explain concepts. Her handouts to 'prepare' you for the quizzes are useless and do not help you. She tries to be so tricky with her quiz and tests questions, which is not needed. She's making it harder than it really is.
Take her class if you want to have a good foundation in biology and prepare well for your following biology sequences. She gives a quiz weekly, but they are reasonable amounts to study in a week. If you show up her office hours and pay attention to the lecture in detail, you will earn an A. She is a brilliant, caring, and understanding professor!
Dr. Bower is a passionate and caring Biology Professor. If you work hard in her class your grade will reflect the effort you put in. She prepares you for BIO10B and BIO10C. She has plenty of office hours throughout the week and most of the time she went over the allotted time to help me understand the information clearly.
Dr. Bower is one of the most caring and competent professors I've had. I'm a returning student and I feel constantly inspired by the way she describes the material and the applications in each chapter. She makes time to hold office hours for hybrid course. Optional Sunday reviews. She truly cares about preparing her bio students for the future.
Prof B is clearly an expert in her field. She takes the time everyday to provide resources and support for students to succeed, which can't be said about all professors. Her class allows you to learn the information well and apply the concepts and prepare for further classes. I'm excited weekly to go to class & will miss her when the semester ends.
Dr. Bower is great. Her lectures are very helpful and she always gives opportunities to ask questions during class. Weekly quizzes prepare you for exams & for 10B. Lab reports are concise & she always goes over them. Review sheets are very helpful. Very kind, caring, & accommodating prof. She truly cares about her students! Take her!!
I've read some negative reviews about her, but honestly she's an excellent teacher that want you to you to learn, and cares about the quality of education. Take her. You'll learn with no busy work, just straight forward, which was refreshing.
She gives me inspiration in studying bio. At first, I was very nervous of this class since I never took any biology class in English before. Its not an easy class and you will need to work for the grade but its totally worth it in the end. You are better to understand the concept instead of just remembering the terms. Highly recommend her class!
I don't know why the last few reviews have been praising her. She is a tougher grader and makes confusing behaviors when grading. No clear grading criteria. Never shows the total points of the class and the percentage of each section. Often creates a new assignment whose submission time has passed and scores it 0. A sudden drop in confusing grades.
Dr. Bower is the best instructor I've ever had. I am not a student who has taken Biology in a long time and I was worried that it would be an impossible class. Dr Bower supported me and answered every question I had. There is no finer instructor for Bio10a. Her instruction has made it so I really don't have to study in Bio10b & 10c. Take Dr Bower!
She is okay ,her class is prodcutive and clear ,she always provide feedback ,but the weekly quizzes really knob me down ...unable to manga so much quizzes ,but she don't have final exam ,only quzzes about 10 ,and a lab practical exam.
Professor Bower is such a caring professor, she truly wants her students to succeed. She gives 10 quizzes based on specific chapters, no exams. She's very knowledgable about biology and works hard to help students understand the material. As long as you do the work and reach out to her for help if you're struggling, you will succeed.
Professor Bower has restored my faith in STEM courses. She cares about her students and if you do the work you will succeed. Had some personal issues happen and she was very understanding.
Make sure to read over textbook even though it is not "necessary" to do well in the class. Grades labs harsh but a great professor overall and very knowledgable. You must try hard to do well in the class.
Prof Bower is great! She's super caring and a fair grader. Class consists of quizzes that aren't bad if you study, labs, some light homework, and a lab practical at the end of the semester. She loves the material and teaches it well.
She's very passionate about biology, and willing to answer questions. Personally I wasn't a fan of her class system. There's no exams, just quizzes, which had tricky questions and wording. I also think she is picky with grading assignments and takes off unnecessary points. If you don't have the time to dedicate for this class, I wouldn't recommend.
Professor Bower is passionate about biology and cares about student success. While the weekly quizzes can be challenging, reaching out for help and using resources like Unstuckstudy can make this class manageable. She's a fair grader overall.
Dr. Bowers is a great professor. Very passionate about biology, very thorough with lab directions and cares about student success. No exams except for a lab practical which is short, fair and to the point. Weekly exams over usually 50-80 slides, but she provides videos of her explaining them. Overall very informative and manageable class bc of her.
Professor Bower is one of the best professors I have had in STEM. She is very caring. I worked up to an A by the end, and I feel that I really stared to understand the subject matter. I took the hybrid class, so the class is heavy on lecture material and quizzes. However, there are no tests, only quizzes! There are also no finals, just a lab final.
I had Professor Bower over the winter session. She's a great instructor if you want to learn biology. Her tests are tough but fair and she provides extra credit questions on most of her tests. Overall she made me really like biology and although her 10-quiz format was tough to get used to, it made the material less overwhelming.
While the course itself is relatively easy, Professor Bower is rude and disrespectful to students. She tends to give unnecessary attitude when asked to clarify or repeat something, and she makes a noticeable effort to express her disappointment, which makes students feel discouraged. I would not take her class again.
no hw, exams, or final. 1 presentation. just lectures, weekly quizzes, weekly labs, and 1 lab exam. lecture videos were manageable. would take Dr. Bower again any day! highly respectful and caring towards students. passionate and knowledge. labs were so fun. keep up w/ lectures and you'll succeed.
Amazing professor. She has no final exam and only has quizzes, which all information is found on her lecture slides. Super easy and straightforward labs as well. Professor Bower loves biology and makes it interesting to learn about. Given the chance I would def take a course w her again
Has extra credit on every quiz, online lectures are not that great but you don't really need to use the textbook much either since the quiz material is mostly covered in class. Labs are pretty easy but she can be nit-picky sometimes with grading.
genuinely cares abt students but is a d1 yapper. often goes on convoluted, long-winded lectures & tangents during labs which gets annoying. 10 quizzes total, 1 cumulative lab exam, 1 presentation, no final. 1-2 xtra credit on every quiz. labs during first half of sem were cool. second half fell off; did a lotta worksheets that felt like busywork.
Really nice + easy prof. Only need to study the slides for quizzes. I never studied the studyguides and still got a 94%. No quiz drop. She highkey gave us the answers to the lab practical 2 days before we took it. Never got any HW, but do have labs or classwork due by the end of the period. Most of the time got to leave class at least 30 mins early
Hybrid course, very chill class in my opinion & an easy A. Small workload, no homework, work mostly falls under labs which are finished in class & weekly/ biweekly quizzes based off online lecture with 1-2 points extra credit. Prof does talk a lot, sometimes it felt like a hs class, but I found her to be very nice. Would take her again if i could
