Very hard techer won't recomend to anyone. Even I got B in her class she is horrible. Beeing at her lecures won't help on tests. I had to study for her tests from 3 different sources. If you can take M.Schirmer.
Cute and Nice teacher but very boring. Only goes over lecture notes which do not provide enough information. Very confusing class. Would not reccomend taking this class at all. Guaranteed F.
If you show up to class and participate you will learn, she is helpful and takes time to clarify any questions you may have. Ienjoyed her class and thought she did a great job of presenting the material.
When a class average is 70.98% I think there is something wrong with the teaching methods. The test questions can be difficult to comprehend and not what was discussed in the lectures.
OMG!!! Don't take this class!!! Unless your related to her or something... She is very strict and will not give you a second chance... If you wanna fail take her otherwise pick someone else... anyone else
This professor really knows her stuff. This is not a class that you are going to want to take if you are looking for an easy class. But if you are looking to further your knowledge on nutrition it is a good class. If you actually take the time to study and read the book an A is very possible. That is what I did.
Very nice, and is always willing to talk about any questions after class if you just ask her. Again, you have to ask. Many people thought she was overly hard, though I disagree. I guess people are too used to classes that dont require any study (Science? :/ ) Great teacher, got C's on all tests except on the final and got 86% in the class. Just try
Great teacher...very sweet. I also love that she checks her email often. Also, she's excellent at answering questions.
Fun teacher, always willing to help you. Class can be borning at times. Not much homework. Allows you to drop a test and hw assignment if needed.
I took this as a 9 week online course and it was a great class. Lots of info. Tests were fair and assignments were interesting. You are able to drop your lowest test score and do a make homework assignment if you want to improve your grade. There are also several extra credit assignments.
Took online 9 wk course. Always willing to answer any questions and rapidly responded via email. I would recommend this teacher if ur willing to do ur work with little supervision.
She is a friendly easy going teacher and teaches in a way that all can understand. She bases it on real life and does not just throw facts at you all day.
great teacher helps all students and is very easy going. test are not difficult but you should study for an hour or two.
She starts the class OK. She doensn't know how to walk the students through. It's important to know but it's much more important to teach what you know well and she is not capable of doing so.
SusanChou IsOneOfThe BEST TEACHERS I EverHad! SheKnowsWhatSheIsTeaching! VeryKnowlagableAboutTheSubject! AnswersEmailsQuickly! Friendly! Nice! TestsAreNotDifficultIfYouListenToHerDuringLecture,StudyHerLectureNotes,WhichShePutsOutOnTheBlackboard,AndReadTheBook! ShePreparesYouForExam!! TAKE HER CLASS!!! DoNotBelieveWhoWritesNegativeAboutHer! SheIs#1!
Took Susan's online course. Remarkable amount of information for the format. She is very clear in her lectures, and tests are pretty easy. Weekly homework is expected to show participation. Overall, great lady and highly recommended.
basically a good teacher. will get you lost in what see is talking about tho. you will have to know about nutrition before taking this calss. because this start nowhere near the beginning. Nutri 300
Susan is nice person, but in teaching is hard. Her lectures is interesting but u have to study for tests hours, must read the book, and must reread all the notes! Also u must not miss her lectures because she gives 5 points for attendancce and u will never know what day she'll give it. She grades h.w hard. Answers quickly on emails but not helpful
An easy class to get an A if you 1) attend class (if you ditch, you may miss 5 points) 2) Do the extra credit. The extra credit helps you do well exams. SO, it's almost inexcusable not to do well in the class. If you don't take advantage of the ex credit, that really your own fault. Nice teacher!
It was her 8 week online course. Intense because it was so short but she was more than helpful. Great teacher and I'm glad I took this class
I did poorly in this class, but only because I didn't do the homework or show up often. Both would have helped. The tests are what saved me. They are easy and the follow the Powerpoint lecture material closely (which is available on Blackboard). I was lazy, but I could see this being a relatively easy A or high B for most students.

Great teacher. Very understanding. my printer failed and she let me e-mail my homework as soon as i got home. If you attend, listen, take notes and review them you should easily get an A. I barely went over my notes and still passed with a C. Do the homework and extra credit. it makes a Big difference. I would definitely take her again
For an on-line class, she is very good. Book is very helpful, but her tests are based mainly on lectures. If you put in the time then you'll do good.
Very easy going. Very helpful and understanding, i would highly recommend this professor!
Very sweet and helpful. Covers everything during lecture. Doesnt require too many home take assigments. Totally recommed her !
good teacher
Very straightforward! Took her Online Class, and LOVED IT. Great communication, recommend her to anyone needing to take Nut 300.
She is a pretty hard teacher. Extra credit is offered but too much work for very little points. Tests are confusing need to study A LOT to do good.
(ONLINE) I got a B. She knitpicks points away on the homework, and gives only a couple extra points for huge ec assignments (not worth it). Her tests are not clear, and since you don't have lecture time for her to make sense of the tech terms, it's hopeless sometimes. She's unclear in her email responses, and acts irritated.
She's a nice teacher but her exams are hard.
She is a great teacher. Got an easy A. You just have to do your work. The great thing about her class is that she gives you a sample test and guide to to before the exam day... She very helpful and friendly. I would recommend her if you're planning to take Nutrition.
bad with grading :/ and I usually did extra research on homeworks but she just loved to add questions like "why" and take off about 2 points! even though the info i put in was EXTRA, it wasn't even asked in the question, I just tried to earn full credit, but no she will find questions to ask and take of points
Shes nice and easy. I went to half her classes and got an A, she post everything online and you can get/turn in assignments online. Just do the studyguides (takes a long time) its the same as test, and homework+projects. I try to look for easy classes and I luckly stumbled to hers.
took the online class. easy a (i got a 99%) she drops the 5 lowest scores for quizes and you have 5 tries to get 100% per quiz. she drops the the lowest (only one) exam. very helpful. I had no interest in taking the class but i actually learned alot of useful info. I loved this class. its easy take it online not in lecture
She lectures good, but her exams were hard to understand. The work was not too bad but at the same time it was not worth too much points. The homeworks were based on reading and then answering here questions, which was a little boring because she asked too much why questions. Besides all that, the class was easy, not too hard.
Professor Chou is amazing! She is one of those teachers that make me want to come to school. I felt that she was very organized, spoke clear, and very nice. I encourage taking her if you choose to take nutrition. it was a great experience! She was one of my favorite teachers by far!!
she was a very nice teacher...but i didnt like that everything was online it really made me not wanna go to class. she is very organized. the lectures put me to sleep instantly. she is great pay attention and youll pass.
She is a very boring teacher. i fall asleep during lectures because her teaching is very boring. This teacher has a dry sense of humor i would not recommend her to anyone but herself. she is boring boring like the red eyes dry eyes dude. Thats just my personal opinion.
She is a super fun teacher. If you read through the lecture slides and read the chapter at least once before the test you will ace this class. Really focus on the math parts though, they are tricky. She is always more than happy to answer any questions you may have so dont be shy. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class!!!!!
Mandatory attendance. Really nice teacher but her lectures are a bit boring. Hard to stay awake, especially if it's a morning class. But at least she's clear with what she wants in her exams. Just read the textbook, do the Diet project and you'll pass.
Simple class, I didn't need the book once. Everything on the tests comes from practice material and quizzes can be taken up to five times for full credit. The class is basically Diet Project Tests and Quiz. She goes off on tangents sometimes, nutrition related or something about her kids. Overall Easy class.
You really have to not be trying to not get an A in her class. She offers so much extra credit, 2 take home exams, and dropped your lowest scores. No reason to complain! Just do your work, go to class, and you will be passing with flying colors. The exams EASY if you do the study guide, & she gives you extra credit if you turn in the study guide!
Exams are kind of hard, but I am not a good test taker anyways. The best advise I could give if you take this class is make sure you do the study guides for the exams otherwise you won't know what the exam will focus on for those chapters, plus its 5 ec points. I have a high B and I'm waiting for my final grade now. She's an alright professor.
Her lecture(everyday) lost me half way. It was long and boring and the test was difficult, but there multiple choice(still hard).she take out the lowest test score, which is good. hmk are mostly quizes online and just 2 long project packet diet online & handout.Just study if u take this class. (Also Group activity in the class)
Good Professor. Gives high amount of hmwk in online class;average 3.25 assignments a week. Discussion board weekly is like long homework. Homework long. Slow to grade homework;3 weeks in arears. Grading is task oriented. Perfect = A.
I took her Nutri 300 online short term class and it was extremely easy! She's very nice and responds fast. Her tests are extremely easy, mostly from her lectures. You don't even need a textbook. She's the best teacher I had for a nutrition class.
Awesome professor took her for nutrition.. you really don't need to read the book, her lectures are crystal clear. She wont surprise you on her exams, she only test on what she covers. Take good notes, and you should get an A
Professor Chou is wonderful! She's funny and engaging. Attendance isn't 100% necessary, but she will drop you if you miss too many class periods. Showing up to class will help you get a better grade though, as her tests are based mostly on her lectures. Quizzes due nearly every Friday are easy.
She is a very good instructor. Her tests are straight out of the book. She covers all of the material from the book that will be on the test. Her projects are very easy. Her lectures are long, but the information she provides will be on the test. Her bonus points can save your grade. She looks the part. You really have to try to not get a B.
Very helpful. Her powerpoint are easy to follow. Her exam and quizzes are straightforward. If you do the study guide for each exams, it's worth 5 points each. she drops one exams. I like her online class a lot. Take her!
Prof Chou is awesome. She is really down to earth and knows a lot about the subject. She cares about her students. She does give a lot of work but it is all easy if you pay attention and read the book.
She is very straight forward with what she expects. Everything is on D2L which is very organized. Print powerpoint before hand and take notes! Quizzes and Exams are also on D2L. Really nice and helpful. You can turn in your nutrition project ahead of time and she will help you and point out what you need to fix to get a better grade. TAKE HER!
She is a great professor. Know's what she is doing and stays on track. She hands out the notes in class, so you can just listen to her lecture. Highly recommend her.
She is very straightforward with her online class so it's easy to understand what needs to be done, the deadlines, etc. She is also very helpful and responds to emails usually by the next morning at the very latest. I would definitely recommend her either online or in person. She's a very helpful teacher that cares about her students' success.
She is a really good and friendly professor. She makes her point and present the information very clear and straight forward. One diet project and evaluation throughout the whole semester, and she divides this huge project into several sections and walked us through. Be sure to study for the quiz by the lecture handout and textbook!( challenge)
She is very good! she knows her subject very well, very helpful and understanding, very clear, kind and interesting. You could easily pass her class if you pay attention to the due dates and turn in all assignments, quizzes, and projects. Make sure you read the book before you take the quiz or exam and u should pass with an A.
I liked her Class, e, she explained everything in the class, all homeworks, quizzes and tests were online, questions are not bad, if you study and lesson to her you can get an A. Take her will learn allot about nutrition.
Great Professor. Very pleasant, willing to work with, great attitude. Explains a lot through lectures. You should read chapters for clarification and general knowledge to help on tests. Quizzes are easy. trust me. Read, attend class, make yourself known and you'll pass with ease.
this TEACHER IS A GOOD ONE. but EVERYTHING, INCLUDING HOMEWORK, TESTS, AND QUIZZES WAS ONLINE. i DID NOT LIKE THAT.
Prof. Chou is very clear of her expectations, & is willing to help you succeed! Take any of her nutrition courses, even ECE 415 whether it be in person or online. Quizzes & exams are solely based on what you read in textbook and her powerpoints. As long as you complete all discussions, & pass chapter quizzes and exams, you'll ace the course.
I loved her! She is very clear in her powerpoints and gives very useful information during class. She rarely gives out homework, but when she does it's very easy. Her quiz's are a bit confusing but you could easily find the answers in her powerpoints. I would recommend taking her if you really want to learn about nutrition, she really is great!
Great professor! Long lecture (one day a week class) but it doesn't feel like torture! Easy to follow. All work is online. Homework can be long but it requires you to think and create your own answers. Always helpful and very clear. Big project through semester but very easy if you keep up! I would take her class again (even if it was 3 hours long)
Meet once a day for three hours. She usually lets you leave early. I usually do other things in class i.e. on my laptop. It's such an easy A. Quizzes Exams are online. People who complain about her are people who those who procrastinate, or are lazy. Put in the work - 12 hours a week, and you get an A. Don't use textbook for reference.
Professor Chou is an amazing professor who really knows what she's teaching. Nutrition 300 was my favorite class I've taken thus far. Most of the work is online and her class is lecture based with occasional quick group work. She's a genuinely nice person and offers a ton of extra credit opportunities.
Tests are online and timed. About a minute for each question :( Still not very difficult to get a good grade on tho ;) HW is easy and there was only about 5 hw assignments. No quizzes. She's chill. OH and you don't really need the book BUT you need the online website key to do an easy diet evaluation.
So so hard. She seems so nice and helpful, but her tests and quizzes are super hard. It's nice though she lets you have up to 5 retries on the quizzes. Don't take it online, do face to face if you can. Very into the science break down, which is great but hard.
Professor Chou has amazing online courses! She really sets up her students for the best possible outcome! I learned so much about nutrtion! I wish all my professors were as organized! The workload is managable and, feedback is always right away!
I woul never take an online class from her again. The class was full of busy work and the discussion board questions took hours in some casses to research. If a question is answered in a way that she doesnt agree with she gives no credit and states that you didnt answer the question. She has tests every single week. She doesnt teach at all.
Exams are timed online and some of the questions are trick questions. When she is lecturing she speaks really fast but is easily approachable so if you didn't understand something, she's shows that she cares about her students grasping the concept and will help you! Overall, she was a good professor, and I liked her videos!
Great teacher. She outlined clear lectures and gave weekly quizzes to help reinforce material and chapter exams. There is a project, very simple and straight forward. Taking it online was very easy and I recieved an A. She is pretty flexible when it comes to legitamite life problems.
Dr. Chou is an AWESOME teacher, if someone gets a C or less, the student is LAZY. I have difficulty learning, meaning I have to read over and over and over to get it, I'm on DSPS, and I got an A this past spring ! While taking Micro 440. All the answers to Quizzes are on the handouts and in the BOOK probably made for 4th grade reading. I loved her!
I really recommend this professor if you are going into the health field. VERY knowledgable and willing to help if needed. You have a quiz for every chapter read in class, and a chapter test consisting of 1 to 2 chapters at a time... ALL ONLINE including final! I found this very helpful. Expect to involve minor science, study, you will get an A.
Susan was a very knowledgable professor. Not only that, but for me, this class was an easy A while still being able to learn things that I can apply to my life later down the line. I did not need the textbook, only had to buy the code for the diet project which is like $20. A class that was easy and that I got something from - win, win.
Professor Chou is great, I really enjoyed her. She has a PhD in Nutrition, so she's on of those professors who really knows what they're talking about. She's sweet, easy going, and not a tough grader so the only way you probably wouldn't succeed in this class is if you don't pay attention and don't put in the effort
Susan is an amazing teacher. I really enjoyed her class last semester.
Wonderful teacher. There is a few quizzes, exams and a larger project to complete, but she is an easy grader and almost everything is online which was really convenient. I learned a lot and lectures were good.
Very knowledgeable, lot's of real world examples which correlate to class, clear grading, willing to help, easy going, laid back, very understanding, not strict.. There is something due every week. Online to turn in all work. I'd fathom she can improve in going off the power points more to keep things up and more exciting, sometimes we were "zzz."
Definitely not an easy grader! Tests and quizzes are timed, 1 min. per question. Extra credit is tough! Must do up to 30 test study questions in order to receive 5 extra credit! :/ Every week are 2/3 chapter quizzes. Tests and quizzes sometimes have questions that wasn't reviewed in class. " It's common sense, you must know it." Her answer!
Great professor! Take her class.
I thought I was a nutrition expert, and for the most part, I do know quite a bit. Professor Chou taught me the things I was missing. The tests are fair and for the most part, she will test you on the type of Nutrition you will use everyday if your goal is to be a nutrition major or dietitian. I would take this class/professor again.
Susan is great. She knows nutrition and is passionate about it. There is work to do and her exams are not a piece of cake - you would have to actually read the material and understand it to do well on exams. Not exactly an "easy A" class. Quizzes are online as are exams. Lectures are easy to follow, and she is available outside of class to help.
I liked her lessons. I did not like 2/3 quizzes a week, and finals altering week. Also she grades the discussion boards tough, grades late, and doesn't respond to mails quickly.
Really sweet Nutrition teacher. She has a doctorate, so she knows what she's talking about. My only complaint is that sometimes there would be things on quizzes and tests that she barely mentioned in lecture. There is a 3 day nutritional project where you have to monitor what you eat, which is alright. Most quizzes and tests are online.
she is the meanest teacher that I ever had.
Horrible class, not the teacher. The subject is very boring and the tests are barely related just random google questions. Half the class dropped. I'll take chemistry or math over this any day. The hybrid classes are something else, take those, they are way easier and you learn by the book. The book is quite useful and more interesting.
Susan really knows her stuff! Her lectures were always very informative and interesting. She prints her lecture slides and gives them to you so you can take notes with ease. Just show up, pay attention, and you'll do fine on the exams and quizzes. I learned a lot in this class. I definitely recommend her!
Holy heck, the amount of homework is INSANITY. I've never been assigned so much homework in the last 2 yrs of comm college! Weekly discussion board posts are worth 20 points & are 5 to 10 PAGES LONG. Good luck getting full credit on these! Quizzes/exams are often, & based on 100 page power point lectures & textbook, & the questions are HARD. Ugh
Too many quizzes, and the discussion board posts were excessive and ridiculous. To be fair, I took this class online during the summer, so it was accelerated. I don't have an issue with Professor Chou, and maybe she had an unusual amount of personal things going on, but she was consistently slow with grading.
I took the 8 week online class and it's definitely intense. Your exams and the diet log are make or break on your grade. Put effort into the diet log as it is closely scrutinized. Discussion papers are not a quick effort and require a decent amount of research. I found the class to be time intense but not very hard if you study hard.
The most horrible class I had on my entire life! Too many hard quizzes (15min) & 50min tests from 2-3 chapters, 100 pages each. Impossible to do her 5 points extra-credit (4 pages or more). Long board discussion. If you don't work or do anything in life, study day and night, you may get a B. Awful class and grader. Don't recommend it to my enemy!
An easy A. ALL quizzes & tests are online & answers are easy to find online as well. Don't need your book at all. Lots of group work but it's easy and you get credit for it! Theres two diet projects that weren't too hard that can get you credit too. Lectures get boring but it's a simple and informative class. She's nice and drops your lowest test!
I thought that a nutrition class would be fun but it wasn't. Most of the time all she does is reading from slides, which makes the lectures get very boring. She's also a tough grader and if you want the extra credit you have to do a lot of work. The online quizzes are not very easy and you only have one minute for each question.
Great class, you really learn a lot from these lectures and the professor makes sure to review information that may be confusing. All quizzes are online as well as the nutrition project that you turn in piece by piece over the course of the semester. Professor Chou offers tons of extra credit for those who would like to do some. Great class!
I took this class online, 8 week class, that is why I got a lot of reading, 2 chapters per week, each like 40 pg, but it is interesting. You have a quiz per week 15 ques-15 mins-5attempts, best counts, and discussion board. Tests are 50 qest-50 mins, 1 attempt of course, so before taking it u need to know material! Got an A, overall a good class.
I took the 8 week course, it's not my first time so I know what to expect. Hard grader, barely enough time for exams, offers extra credit but it's VERY time consuming, discussion boards are extremely long and a ridiculously long project at the end. Take this class if you are up for a challenge and have A LOT of time in your hands.
Maybe she's better in person? Not an incredibly difficult class, just a LOT of assignments, and boring material. Nothing unique or interesting. The discussion boards are not discussions they are publicly posted assignments. You do homework, post it to discussion boards and then try to think of something to respond. Overall, boring & time consuming.
This class is only difficult because it is so tedious and dull. Lots of long assignments for very few points. More than a few times a 2 pt question where she asks for citations of your "research" for a single question worth TWO POINTS! Do yourself a favor and take the class from someone else. This class doesn't require intelligence, just endurance
I have never been so close to dropping a class or just getting an F because I don't care anymore. This is an awful class. It is boring, it is A LOT of work for very few points. The usual reading in the text book but also lots of articles and videos and THEN expected to do more research for weekly homework. Too annoyed to learn. HATE THIS CLASS.
Alots of weekly homework but totally worked it, book selected it has a very easy way to explain and the professor has great information to go along with it. 4 weekly homework parts between discussion , chapter quizzes and 3 main projects. Loved it but to much homework. Also professor is very professional and friendly.
Chou is amazing to say the least. You have to do every weekly discussion posts and weekly quizzes. If you are having any problems she is there for you. She is very good about going in order with the chapters and there are 3 exams with 3 sets of extra credit questions. It takes some time, but so worth it! 100% recommend her!
She assigned a lot of busy work I dont feel like I really learned anything. She graded harder than my English Professor and it felt like she thought her class was the only class a person was taking leaving little time for my other classes which made this semester extremely hard.
Yes she does give a lot of work to do but its easy busy work that is very manageable. She wants you pass and its clear in her modules and emails. 3 exams, weekly quizzes and discussions/case studies with 3-4 other 5 question assignments. sounds like a lot but as said before very manageable!
Professor Chou is excellent. She provided many opportunities to receive extra credit! she will respond immediately, answer, and guide you with whatever questions. For each quiz, you have 5 attempts, which allows you to learn and then pass successfully. Her teaching approach is great and especially with the course being fully online.
Do not listen to the positive reviews. Run the opposite direction if you can. She's unfortunately often the only option for nutrition, but is also unfortunately the worst professor I have ever had. Don't take this class if you want to learn anything about nutrition or succeed in any of your other classes.
Worst class I have ever had the displeasure of being forced to take. I'm not sure if she realizes that nutrition majors are going to take an entire college career's worth of classes related to nutrition and that 95% of us are taking the class because we HAVE TO. She seems to think everyone loves nutrition and wants to spend their lives studying it.
Professor Chou is a decent professor. Lectures are a bit dry/lack participation but the class is pretty easy to pass so long as one can sit down & focus on the tasks that need to be completed, its easiest to chip away at assignments bit by bit as the subject of nutrition isnt nessecarily the most interesting. Lots of opportunities for extra credit.
She is very careless.
Don't listen to all these negative reviews. You REALLY have to try to get a bad grade or fail. Go to class, participate, and do the hw. Tons of extra credit. Prof Chou goes out of her way to make the learning process easy to digest. She uses a lot of examples and analogies. You can tell she cares for her students' education and well-being. 10/10.
Prof grades very slow and assigns so many extra things the discussion boards are useless and so is the rest of the busy work for a small amount of points extra credit is twice as hard
I took the 8 week online class and it was very fast paced with lots of homework, discussions and case studies. However, most of the information that you need she clearly explains it on the slides, I hardly used the book. The information is well organized and she quickly responded to emails. She is fair in her grading. I really enjoyed her class.
ECE415. VERY slow grader. She gives weekly extra credit opportunities but they are worth only 5 possible points for a lot of work - as much as the 20 point homework. Not worth it. The required reading was provided for free, which was nice. As with any class, put in the work and you will get a good grade. I learned a lot from this class.
Professor Chou is a great professor and I personally loved her class. She provides you with a lot of extra material, aside from the textbook, and her assignments are very easy. She also gives many extra credit opportunities and provides good feedback. I would definitely take her class again.
Professor Chou seems to be a nice professor of nutrition. But she's really serious and strict. I really don't like this professor very much because she doesn't really like people with special needs since I'm a student at DSPS. I highly recommend you guys not take her for Nutrition. She's a very tough grader.
2 diet projects instead of exams which is super easy to do and less stressful. About 3 self-check quizzes per chapter (8 chapters) but attempts are unlimited and answers are available online. Textbook is free and the recorded lectures are good. She also gives good feedback on your work and is quick to respond when you reach out.
Professor Chou is a nice professor. She's strict with students who are in DSPS. I took her class for 4 months during the spring semester term and the lectures were heavy. There were group assignments, pre-lecture assignments, online quizzes, and diet projects, but no midterms or exams. I encourage you to take her. It's a lot.
This professor wasn't great she doesn't respond to emails. Plus you have to get deep in your personal life with this class and she uses really old videos to guide you through websites that didn't make sense because the websites have been updated she's takes forever to grade because she grades hard.
Chou is a good professor, but sometimes trying to understand what's come next lesson. In this course, what should we know from each chapter and work on the study cases that we all want to understand for children's nutrition and health conditions. Basically, all you're doing is classwork for study case, online short quizzes, and a few projects.
Take ANYONE but her. Despite demanding "time mgmt" from students (1st assgmt was this), we get constant "new assignment created" notifications. Takes ages to grade, neg feedback only, 2 to 4 assignments due on ONE day, about 2x/wk, points to effort ratio sucks. I have a high A, but I've never been less motivated to succeed. Steer clear.
Too much work, does not grade on time. Just not a teacher you want to take
Ms. Chou is a great professor. You will learn a lot! A lot of extra credit work if you want your grades higher. She makes her lecture easier to understand. No midterms and Finals she does the diet project instead, and because of that I have a deeper understanding of the class. She made a huge impact in my life and my family. I recommend her.
Professor Chou although is a great Professor is a tough grader. She does not go by the textbook but much rather go by her own knowledge. She points out the most smallest to what she believe is wrong to deduct points away. She has almost no rubric to any of her assignments to what she expects us to do and wants unnecessarily amount of details.
This Professor may have a phD, but she doesn't know how to teach. NO feedback on any work. Grades given two weeks into course and then far or few between during course. Waits till the very end of semester to know how you are doing, how are you supposed to know what you need work on, without timely grading and feedback. Horrible.
She literally nitpicks every single assignment. It felt like she was trying her hardest to lower my grade to a B despite me completing every single assignment in detail. She finds ways for you answers to be incorrect and you have to over explain everything because she does not seem to understand when answers are implied.
She literally nitpicks every single assignment. It felt like she was trying her hardest to lower my grades on assignments. Answers to questions asked on homework a lot of the time are not able to be answered by provided materials, have to look externally.
Professor Chou runs a tough but manageable class. The assignments are reasonable, and there are lots of extra credit opportunities. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for staying on top of the material.
I took her NUTRI 300 class in the fall last semester and I really enjoyed it! She made lecture really enjoying and I liked how she made class interesting and engaging as she tried to relate each topic and discussion to the class and each individual. She is flexible and she always sends out reminders for deadlines.
I entered this nutrition class with enthusiasm, but the excessive workload significantly impacted my enjoyment of the subject. The demanding nature of the course, particularly for a foundational level, ultimately diminished my interest in nutrition. I highly suggest taking this class from anyone other than Professor Chou. 5 difficult/workload only
Very nitpicky grading
Honestly, I came into this class really excited to learn how nutrition connects to my work at a preschool, but it wasn't what I expected. There's a ton of work, grades take forever to come back, and it feels unfair that we're told not to use AI when the professor uses it to grade.
One of the first dual enrollment classes I took. It was really easy and she was really nice, I did all my work for her in 2 days (Monday, Tuesday) and slept the remainder of the week. It was THAT easy honestly. The midterm, I was lazy and it took me 6 hours in a day to do so DON'T procrastinate. But that was on me, everything else was LIGHT!
This professor is an EXCEPTIONALLY nitpicky grader. She offers no feedback and is over 5 weeks behind in grading. She is a low effort professor. The content itself isn't difficult, her poor effort makes it difficult. As an A student I do not suggest this class to anyone if you want personal growth and clarity from your teacher.
I took this class as it was mandatory and I would never take it again, there is so much homework that its hard to balance with other classes and work. If you take it expect a lot of homework, quizzes, and random papers. After this class I NEVER want to take another nutri class again as I have no interest in suffering again.
