The key word here is BORING...boring class, boring teacher who speaks in the worst monotone voice I have ever heard, I swear to it, and boring (yet however easy) tests. It is damn near impossible to avoid falling asleep in her class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. ok seriously she lectures and that's it. boring as hell, talks in a monotone voice so u fall alseep, and give 4 tests, and fromt hose she gets ur grade. no papers, no attendance, she doesn't care if u come to class or not. it hard not to fall asleep while she's talking
She is very boring. Reads out of book the whole class. But grade is based on four EASY tests. I hardly ever went and I got an A-
SHES EVIL.. i ended up withdrawing after missing classes.. couldnt catch up
she is really boring but the class is really easy as long as you go once in a while and go to review
her voice will put you to sleep... no need to go to class though, because you will end up teaching yourself the course anyway.
THE CLASS WAS A NIGHTMARE! SHE IS SUCH A BORE!!!
I took a Course By Contract with Susan Davis and it went very smooothly. The take home test she gave me was the most fair and challenging test I have EVER taken. Note: I have not taken an in-class course with her.
Easy class. Good teacher. Just went to review and read the paper thin book before tests. Easy.

she reads from the book in front of the class instead of a lecture or notes or anything helpful, take the class, save yourself the aggravation and read the book at home instead
Dont miss a test, the make-ups are rediculous

She will strike down upon you with great disdain and furious narcolepsy, and you will know her name is the board...when she lays her readings upon you.

Down, down, down into the darkness of the grave Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind; Quietly they go, the intelligent, the witty, the brave. I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned.
All she does is talk about certain stuff that's in the book. When it comes time for review, she answers our questions that we have for the test but she doesn't really communicate with the students.
nice lady, but needs to get an interest in students more. doesn't care much. :(

SO BORING! This is a one hundred level course and she acts like it's a three hundred level course. All she does the entire class is stand there and sum up the book. Unless you need a class to snooze through, don't take her classes!
Yes, her lectures DO get boring (and they're rehearsed from the book, but the book is good if you actually read it) but if you tune in at the very end, she sums things up and puts it all in perspective... and you're like... wow... this is awesome. I think she's a very smart woman, just give her a chance. The class was easy, anyways.
HORRIBLE CLASS. reads vertabum from the textbook while seated at the desk in the front of the room. don't bother going to class, all the info you need is in the book.
she is absolutely awful... um... is her favorite word....
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER. TESTS ARE HARD, DO NOT RELATE TO THE "MATERIAL" taught in class. I say "MATERIAL" because -- SHE TEACHES NOTHING. COULD BE A GOOD TEACHER BUT NOT FOR ECO103.
WORST TEACHER ON BSC CAMPUS! Hands down.. FRESHMEN, SOPHMORES, ALL.. STAY AWAY! I WARNED YOU ONCE! B-A-D!
Very nice lady with lots of knowledge on current events. Had her for one of those seminar classes. No tests but just one presentation for about 10-20 minutes or more. She will love you if you participate and have some-what knowledge on international stuff you can add to the class.
Terrible. Avoid
great class if you need some sleep. extremely boring. you dont really need to go to class.. she just reads the book to you
This has been one of the WORST..if not the worst class I have taken. Its in a lectrue hall where there were about 100 students to start the class and on average 20 come to the class on a given day. She reads to you out of the book in a monatone voice and sits in the same place the whole class..only good thing during begal pause..tests hard
This class needs an energetic and vibrant individual to teach it. The subject matter is very difficult if you do not have any previous knowledge of what Economics is all about. I feel that students were lost from the beginning of sem. Also testing format is confusing and tricky.
she follows the book a lot. shes boring and u MUST read the assigned pages and listen to what she says carefully or else it is a sure fail test. test are easy true false, multiple choice and 1 bonus question worth up to 5 pts.
super nice but extremley dry
Does'nt take attendance. You really only need to come to class the day she reviews everything. Sooo boring.
you cannot hear her she teaches as she hates the subject
This teacher is so boring...her tests are extremely specific and difficult, and when I actually went to class, the lectures were useless. Please, for your own sanity, do not take this class.
I've taken 3 courses with her. She's very nice and can be very helpful if you ask her for it. Her downfall is that she lacks enthusiasm for teaching. Tests are curved and its not hard to do well, plus attendance is optional. I'd recommend it
I hate to be rude but I took her as a filler class,I needed something quick worst mistake of my college life...one word BEWARE!!!
She teaches exactly from the book and her study guide. she assigns about 100 pages in each book for you to read prior to her test. She has NOOOOO excitement what so ever about teaching.I HAVE NEVER SPENT SO MUCH TIME TEXTING IN A CLASS PRIOR TO TAKING THIS COURSE. P.S. sit in the front of the class, its hard to hear her in a lecture hall
She is so boring!. Never takes attendence. She reads right out of the book, and puts up on an overhead the diagrams. I took my own notes and read the summary in the back, never paid attention. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. ITS SO BORING AND A WASTE OF TIME ESICALLY GETTING UP EARLY AND HAVING THIS YOUR FIRST CLASS!!
She is very dry about teaching. Easy class, 4 exams consisting of 10 matching, 15 T/F ... beware you will have 8 true in a row sometimes, 12 mutiply choice and an short essay question for bonus points (take advantage of this). Attendance not mandatory. Class is straight from the textbook.
If you like someone who stands in the front of a lecture hall and just talks in a monotone voice for 50 minutes than she is right for you. She writes nothing down at all during class and uses no visuals at all making note taking impossible. attendance is not mandatory but her tests are all on her lectures. Tests are hard but no papers or homework.
i dont like this class
I do not understand this professor she doesn't explain things in a way I can understand
Very nice lady, but a HORRIBLE teacher. If you have no college level economic knowledge a large majority of wht she says will go over your head.
She is an AWFUL teacher. When it comes to explaining what is on tests, her answers are "if you attend class you will know". I had a class of about 150 -200 students, about 20 showed up to every class. She explains material poorly, is extremely boring, and she hops around from chapter to chapter. You'll have no idea how to organize yourself.
Course is very boring especially if you hate any kind of history classes, tests consist of multiple choice, true/false, and matching for definitions, four main tests only, these are averaged for your final grade in the course, read the textbooks they will kind of help you, the reading is very tough though!!!!, no hw, no papers, little extra credit.
MOST BORING CLASS EVER!! only need to take 4 tests to pass. if u jsut listen to what she says in class you"ll be fine. you don't even need the text book. She kind of gets losts in what she is talking about though
Classes are boring, but if you do attend, try to keep awake because your notes are what will get you through this class! If you don't get at least a C in this class, that means you either never attended class or didn't study for your tests. Her review sessions are pointless if you didn't attend class. Overall I feel like she was a fair teacher.
i have learned more form the book than the prof. she is monotoned and i can pay attention for about 30 seconds before i find soemthing more interesting to think about.as long as you read the books and know the study guide you should pass easily. dont rely on your inclass notes or what she says.
Prof goes off on way too many tangents.a few things on the study guide are only in her lectures, so you kinda have to pay attention to get a good grade, but beyond that the 4 tests make up your grade and are really easy as long as you know the study guide.
Boring class; very easy to drift off to sleep! Tests are 50 questions mult choice like 10 matching and a few T/F. Tests aren't. Text is a must buy and read! The text will help you more than trying to listen because you wont be able to! Not a bad class... Could be better though!
Boring, monotone, made it very very hard to attend class, it was a waste of time since you could just take the review sheet before each exam and look up the definitions online. Horrible class, but easy.
This woman knows her stuff! The class may be just a lecture but the things that she has to say are very interesting.
Dr. Davis is not a bad professor at all. All you have to do is show up to class and take notes from her lecture. I never read the book, nor did I study very much for her tests and got a B in the class. She reviews the class before the test too, so no worries there. While she is pretty monotone, she talks about interesting stuff, so it isn't bad.
Extremely Boring, but attendance isn't mandatory and its very easy
Classes are very boring and dull. However she presents you with a study guide and has exam reviews befor each test. She does have a liberal view when discussing economic history , denying the economic prosperity of the 1980s under Reagan.
Professor Davis is very dull and dry. I think the hardest part of this class is staying awake. Don't slack to much because a "D" grade will show up.Four exams consisting of m/c, fill-in's and short ans. bonus points
God awful. I'm currently in her class and she just boresd you to sleep. I have to write my own notes from the book to stay awake. Class consists of her explaining graphs, and the only grades you get are from 4 tests that you get no review sheet for. If you mess up on one tes, consider yourself donebecause with only 4 grades its tough to get back
Class is extremely boring. I can only pay attention for a couple minutes until I lose interest. I stopped going to class and started reading the book myself and looking everything from the study guide up online. If you read the book and have a decent background of US History, you'll be fine.
Textbook is a must! Study hard and you'll do okay. She reads directly from the book. About 1/3 of the class shows up each class.
Obviously History of U.S economics is naturally a dry subject for most people. However, Dr.Davis does a really good job of presenting the information in the course to you. Very organized. Total of 4 exams on diff time periods. That is your only grade. I didn't read the texts and got a B, but im a good note taker. Dr. Davis is very intelligent&witty
Oh my goodness, she is so boring. I cannot keep my concentration for more than 10 minutes! Read the books and use study guides and you'll be fine!
I did not enjoy this class, not because of the topic but her personality is dry and she made an insulting comment in the first day of class. I explained to her during her office hours how what she said was inappropriate and she refused to apologize or admit she did anything wrong. She does not project her voice so sit close to the front.
She comes into class and starts to speak off the top of her head sometimes forgetting what she covered, asking the class. Her study guide is a list of roughly 40 terms that are the first 5-10 questions of the test. Also on the review sheet are issues that are broad. She is unclear as to what should specifically be studied. I suggest dont take Davis
By far one of my worst instructors ever. She does not explain thngs clearly at all so it makes it really hard to take notes and frustrating to try and study. DO NOT TAKE CLASSES WITH SUSAN M. DAVIS!
By far the absolute worst instructor ever! SAVE YOURSELF the extra stress and do not take any course with Susan Davis.
She's a very nice woman and her class is not terrible if you READ the textbook and go to all of her lectures. The tests are on the difficult side and so you must study. She offers extra credit and review sheets for the four tests she gives which are very helpful.
The comments on here are really harsh. Yes, the course isn't as exciting as others, but she's an extremely nice lady. Everything you need to study is on the review sheet. If you have any questions she'll stay back and answer them. I mean really what more do you guys want? If you pay attention and study you'll do fine.
EXTREMELY HELPFUL PROF. The class may be difficult for some, but she is always willing to answer questions. If she notices you're trying she really takes it into consideration. Go to class, use the book, pay attention, and study. Also, there's a pretty decent curve on final grades. An A is possible!
Goodluck trying to understand anything that she lectures in class. She does not explain terms/or anything clearly at all, so it makes it really hard to take notes and frustrating to try and study. First test was so hard and class average was a 70%.. I have to voice record her on my phone just so I can go back and listen to her lectures at home.
The class was not that difficult. Everything you need to study is on her review sheet. Many questions on the test are from her lectures.
I do not recommend this class to anyone, she is the most dry and boring professor I've ever had. She talks in monotone the entire time and just goes on rants. It's nearly impossible to take notes while she's talking, if you are a visual learning she is NOT the professor for you. You only get four grades.
1) Read book 2) Show up to class 3) Get A
You only take four tests, and lecture drag on. She doesn't use powerpoints at all, so if you are a visual learner, I wouldn't recommend this teacher for you. She's a tough grader too.
Avoid this professor at all costs! She's very monotoned, and people only show up when theres a test to be taken. Going to class or not you will still be learning the same amount of information
Very boring class. Lectures drag, hard to pay attention & tests seem like they're impossible to study for.
This class is very boring. This professor gives you over a hundred pages to read as well as having to listen to her lectures being the material for the exams. Your grade is the average of the four exams so basically if you do very bad on just one, you're screwed.
Just Okay.
If you don't know how to teach yourself do not take this class. she just lectures the whole class with no notes, no powerpoint, nothing. She mumbles and is hard to hear.
Very boring class. No powerpoints, just her talking the whole time. Here is my tip on how to do well, though. Show up to class and vaguely pay attention, maybe take some notes. Just get an understanding of what she was talking about. The day before her tests, the class is all review. Listen to everything she says during this class. DONT BUY BOOKS.
You must try
Professor Davis wasn't too bad, but honestly her lectures weren't too clear. I had a hard time grasping the material even though I had the two books, she doesn't like to repeat her self when it comes to exam review, but she has a nice lady.
Professor Davis is a clear example of a college professor. Long and boring lectures every class except for on days of tests. Entire grade is based off of 3 tests, which are not hard if you study and they're mostly truefalse questions. Easy A for anyone who reads along in the book and you really don't need to show up for class except for tests.
Lectures are terrible. She talks in a very monotone voice while only having graphs on the board. You really don't need to show up except for test days, but just make sure she doesn't change the date. It went from being exam week to on study day with very short notice.
This professor is by far the driest professor I have ever had. She doesn't write anything on the bored and doesn't make power points, it's just a long lecture. You're better off reading the textbook and taking it into your own hands to learn the material. Attendance isn't mandatory and there are only four tests. Nice lady, brutal teaching method.
She knows what she is talking about! She is a little rude. YOU MUST STUDY AND READ! She'll ask if you have any questions, and gives you no time to ask them. She does give a study sheet for every new chapter with terms and topics she'll go over, they will all be on the test. Use it RELIGIOUSLY!
She's the worst professor in the world. SHES SOOOO MONO TONED LIKE ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY. Shes repeats material like a broken record. Shes very rude and doesn't like to repeat herself . Then she doesn't have a blackboard account so you can't see the power points that she does use in her lectures.
I took her for women in the economy and was interested in the subject. First third of the course was so boring, but after that I thought the material picked up. I never touched the book, just attended class and took thorough notes. I honestly learned a surprising amount from this course. If you're looking for a blow off class this isn't it.
As a freshmen it wasn't really my choice to take her class, if you have the choice, save yourself. All it is is lectures and test, no other grades.
Honestly she has to be one the worst, and most boring professors I have ever dealt with. She is monotone her entire lecture and sounds like she is strictly reciting the information via sound from her mouth. Take this class online!
She has to be the most boring professor I have taken in my college career, and on top of that she doesn't care. She is not helpful and the information can just be read from the textbook which is essentially what she does all class, which anyone could do. She brings no outside talent or experience to you and she is difficult to deal with.
learned a lot of material from professor Davis did better on tests by creating a study group after and before class the group met in the library to review economics
Worse teacher you can ever have in college. I don't think there is a professor that can do a worse job than her. She doesn't put no effort into helping her students and when you would ask for help she would tell you one word "read." Horrible teacher, if you love your GPA DON'T TAKE HER!!!
WORST Professor ive ever had. She gives no Fs about her students. She comes in everyday as if it was an inconvenience. She humiliated me in class for emailing her a simple question about the upcoming test saying it was a stupid question, and didn't even respond to me. You get and outline. thats it. nothing to look at, just her monotone voice.
If you actually pay attention in class and act like a mature adult she's a great teacher. Simply put she doesn't hold your hand in the class but do the readings and study the study guide and you'll ace the test. This is college be respectful and she'll be responsive. Also she offers tutoring and office hours.
Easy class, just not a good professor. Boring, monotone lecture that is your source of notes, only writes a few key words down here and there. Luckily she gives a review sheet at the start of every unit. Tests are your only grades, takes attendance once in awhile. Doesn't seem to care much about students, just there to do a job.
An old school professor who expects her students to earn their grade. Any time i had a question or concern, she was more than happy to help me. I visited her during office hours and she was a warm individual. Her lectures are difficult to stay focused on but they are necessary. VERY knowledgable and very experienced.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but does surprise attendance sheets at times. Lectures are all based on what is going to be on the test- no surprises. Make sure to get the book if you miss class or fall asleep during lecture. Gives study guide before every unit and has extra credit opportunities.
I like the way I earned my extra credits. She was perpared for some 'free spiritiual' out of the box work if you know what I mean.
