Great Teacher, must pay attention. Not a blow-off class, if you want to learn a little, and at least pass with ease, take Mrs. Doty!

Easy to understand lectures, provided helpful notes, the exams and quizzes are not difficult if you've studied or paid attention in class. I would recommend her classes to friends, and will be taking another one from her next semester.

Her class isn't that hard, and this is coming from a hardcore slacker. She gives you a free 100 points, the final is worth 300 points, and it also replaces your lowest test grade. do the practice quizzes before you take the graded quizzes and you will do fine on those. do the exam reviews, and study whats covered on powerpoints and you will do well

Wonderful teacher! The class is hard but she makes it almost impossible to fail with her grading system. If you do the online quizzes, your grade will improve a lot. Go to class and take notes/pay attention. Attendance is important. Professor Doty really cares about helping her students and is very understanding overall.

Fun class. Must listen to her lectures and pay attention to what she writes on the board. Her tests focus on her notes and the quizzes come straight from the textbook.

Professor Doty (not Dotty) is awesome. This is not a blow off class and if you think it is you will be very disappointed. My advice is FIND a study partner(s) for quizzes and before her tests. Class notes are a must and the book helps a lot. Had to take this class as a prerequisite but now I am minoring in Economics. Thanks Professor Doty!

Amazing professor! She incorporates iPads with lesson plan, learning is a wonderful experience with visuals & free apps. This molds the course into a great learning experience.There are group project this semester that were kinda fun. I enjoyed fact that test scores were so minimal you could still pass with a high grade bc of other class work!;))

Very nice lady. I enjoyed her as a person and teacher. But I think her passion for Economics overwhelmed those of us who just need it as a class, not a career. Her tests were very challenging-take advantage of all bonus points! Other that that… awesome lady.

TAKE HER COURSE. This class is challenging but it is totally worth it. Take advantage of the bonus points, and stay on top of your homework. She is a great person and awesome teacher.

Doty is the best. Taking her class is worth all the Doty-bucks in the world!! I learned a lot from her. Her passion for economics and for communicating effectively with students makes her a teacher above the rest. This class was hard, but she's such a delightful teacher that it wasn't torture. I might be an econ major if she taught all the classes.

Great professor! She knows exactly what she is talking about, and is very good at explaining too. You definitely cannot slack in this class but if you put in effort into the class you should be guaranteed at least a B.

I never understood economics and even failed it at my junior college. After speaking with Mrs. Doty she was very clear on what material to review and was always available after class for extra help on reviews for tests and quizzes. Best teacher to student assistant I've ever come across.

She is a wonderful professor. The material she covers isn't easy, but she offers you multiple opportunities to increase your understanding such as Homework Help and office hours.

Professor Doty is THE best professor I've ever had. The class is a little difficult, but she takes more time with her students than any other professor I've met. You uses economics to create incentive in her grading program; its great! Her lectures are really good and she makes sure the class understands before she moves on; never boring .

Susan Doty often packs an attitude, but she is a wonderful and very well organized professor. Attendance is marked daily through a very short in-class activity or a Kahoot quiz. The homework assignments are weekly (and online) using McGraw-Hill Connect. The tests are reflective of everything that's taught and in the notes.

i LOVE Mrs. Doty! She is an excellent professor and her class is super interesting. She cares about her students, giving us all several chances to earn extra credit and raise our grades. Mrs. Doty is incredibly knowledgeable about economics but manages to make the concepts very understandable through examples and applications. Her tests are hard.

Pretty ok lecturer. Choice for book not the greatest Test are hard, seem like book and lecture does not help as much as you think Clear and fair grading system, one bad test wont destroy you

Took her for both Macro and Micro and loved her! Possibly one of the best teachers here, gives clear instructions on all assignments and her lectures seem to go by really fast. WOULD RECOMMEND!

Won the top teaching award in the state! Susan Doty is an inspiring professor who makes you want to learn. She's funny, smart and cares more about the success of students even in really big classes than any other prof I know. All that said, she doesn't suffer fools. If you want a blow off class, don't take this one. If you work, you can ace.

Dr. Doty is tough, she knows her stuff. Lots of homework, that will help you out on your final grade.

Doty lives and breathes economics and is very passionate about her students loving it too. She grades the economic way. If you're willing to take risks and put in effort, you'll easily get an A in the class. She'll catch you if you slack off though. Overall the class was really fun and interactive and I loved her lectures.

Professor Doty is an amazing professor that lives and breathes economics but it's someone who looks down on those who need help understanding. She will go out of her way to help you, literally gives her phone number out in class. Prepare to work and study a bit. point system where your highest point replace your lowest. Easy A is taken seriously.

Professor Doty love economics and is passionate about teaching! Her classes are really interesting and she makes difficult concepts easy to understand. Her tests are not easy, but she gives lots of extra credit so you can get the grade you want. I wish she taught all my classes. Highly recommend.

Doty is passionate and knowledge about the subject and pours herself into every class. She's genuinely invested in your success. However, there can be a lot of work involved (especially if it's an honors class), and she's not afraid to give you a lower grade in order to get your attention. Very attentive to students' needs. Highly recommend.

Professor Doty, is a great Professor. Dont understand something? Make time to go to her office hrs! Test are challenging on purpose to make sure you understand the concept of ECON! Class is a point system just worry about the points not grade average! If you show her you care and want to understand she will mostly likely round your grade up.

Wow this professor has her own way of doing things and her system works! She is so interactive in her teaching style and presents the material in a way that is interesting and useful. Bravo!! She is amazing!! Lots of extra credit too!

She is the best professor I've ever had. If not for her, I would not understand Economics at all- trust me I took Econ for two years in high school and did not get a thing unless I had her as my professor. I have decided to major in Econ- only because Prof. Doty put the passion in me due to her teaching as well as her explanation about the subject

The amazing professor really cares about the success of her students. Be prepared to attend class every day as that plays a big role in the information you need for both quizzes and tests. Plenty of chances for extra credit.

Easily one of my favorite professors ever. Though it isn't an easy class by any means, she's truly passionate about the subject and cares about each individual student's success in class. She has a way of breaking down complex concepts so they're easy to understand and using activities to engage students.

Dr. Doty is the cutting edge of modern teaching. She is involved in so many things in the world of economics, I am very thankful that I experienced her course in my first semester. Mrs. Doty is a UTT treasure! Her exuberance for teaching and knowledge of the material creates an entertaining class environment geared towards student success. I was always impressed with how she could take complex economic concepts and make them understandable (and fun!) A's are easily obtainable if you follow the syllabus and do the work.

Mrs. Doty is hands down the best professor I have ever taken. Ive never seen another professor as dedicated to their students. Be prepared to do the work and go to class. As long as you put in the time you can do well. If you get a chance to take her, do it. She is the type of professor you will always remember.

The people complaining about the unclear grading system are too stupid to understand it. It's a points-based grading system. once you actually understand how it works it actually works in your favor. I did horrible on tests but still got an A!! The points system works in your favor. She's an awesome professor. Very passionate!

Ms. Doty is an amazing professor, but she makes you EARN your grade. If you don't come to class, read/do the material, participate, you won't pass. One of my hardest classes ever, but she's awesome; memorable, great sense of humor, and a phenomenal instructor. Makes herself available for you. Organized, concise educational material, inter-active fun activities, knowlegeable, well researched, upbeat, responds promptly, great feedback, makes learning fun, realistic expectations for online 7wk courses, amazing instructor. Her subjects are difficult, but she makes them fun and easy to understand.

Everything I heard is true. You'll learn more than you believe possible. She connects everything in life to economics. If you just want a grade, it's a lot of work. If you want to learn what you came to college to learn, take her. She goes above and beyond to make sure you are successful. Oh, and she's funny.

Took the 7wk course. Every week there is an overview module quiz, 4 topics (reading, video, activity) with a quiz, then a end of module assessment where you can choose whether to do a PowerPoint, test, or written memo. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS word for word on these for proper grading. Offers extra credit modules to help your grade. Def work for grade!

This is a 7 week course, so there is a lot of ground to cover in a condensed period of time. Professor gives clear expectations. Class is organized into Modules, she will drop your lowest Module grade. She offers significant extra credit.

I really didn't think I would pass the class, especially with an A. The grading scale is confusing, just make sure to do all the necessary objectives. I got F's for the first two exams and an A for the Final which boosted my grade a lot. The syllabus week is very important to understand what the course will be like for the following weeks.

After taking Professor Doty for two semesters, I have come to the conclusion that she is a great professor. At first you will find that she has a very different grading style, and has a very different way of operating her class. However, she has planned it strategically that in the long run her students are set up for success.

This class was very easy if you actually do the work. Test are based off of the notes and can be tough but if you look at the notes & participate in class your good!

Really heavy workload for a 7 week online course. It can be overwhelming at times if you work and take other classes. Each week you have 5 quizzes, 4 activities and an end of week assessment. You definitely have to earn your grade in this class and she goes by a point system. She is passionate about what she teaches and cares about her students.

I was ready to drop not just the class but out of the university. Professor Doty was the reason I stayed. She believed in me when no one else did. Economics is hard but she makes it fun and interesting. The projects make everything come together and make sense. She teaches LOTS of students and seems to know each one. I have signed up for another.

While Professor Doty's class was difficult, she truly wants everyone to get an A in her class, which is extremely doable. She cares about what's keeping you from getting there. Get ready to listen and read but just do what she says and you'll get an A :)

The class really isn't that hard if you put forward the effort. Do not miss assignments as she will not accept late work and tells you that upfront. Although many complained, I really enjoyed the class and did not find that it was as hard as some tried to make it seem. Complete the required assignments and you'll easily pass.

I would take Professor Doty's course again! Follow her 2+2+2 RULE + passing each quiz equals a good grade! Do not miss a rule, or you will fail this course. One module takes 4 hrs, there is No Textbook, she is saving you money!

Professor Doty is an absolutely incredible woman. She is extremely positive and hard working and will always believe in you to succeed. With that being said she does expect you to work hard for her aswell. If you take her please expect to actually learn something. Also please if you take her do all the Quickstart Extra Credits at the beginning!!

Professor Doty defines her expectations for the course right from the beginning. She is fair in her grading and gives great feedback on written assignments. I was apprehensive about taking an economics course but I learned a great deal from her. She does not require students to purchase any materials, which is a bonus. Great professor!

Her syllabus is the guidebook for the course. She is always available if you need help or clarification. Follow the 2+2+2 Rule and you will pass. She is very particular on how she wants things done but don't feel it's as complicated as most make it seem. Learned a lot in her class and thoroughly enjoyed the content.

She is a great professor and person, but tends to overdo it with information during lectures and sometimes goes on tangents over something you have no idea about. Lots of powerpoint/pdf slides that contain most info you need for the class. A good amount of extra credit assignments are given every week and are due by Friday midnight.

Absolutely fantastic professor. As long as you get your 40 points each week (a mix of online homework, attendance, and/or taking the quiz) and do your QuickStart, a good grade is very achievable in this class. Makes herself extremely available and genuinely wants students to do well in her class! Take this professor if you can!!!

GO TO CLASS!! Dont miss class at all if possible, the attendance grade in the end is very heavy and worth around 10 total class points so go, even if you're tired! She is a very caring and charismatic professor that loves when someone asks a question in class and gives a lot of extra points to give a buffer grade incase you fall behind.

This class was an amazing learning experience. It's not hard to make a good grade in the class. Just come to lectures and study for a little and you will pass. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! That saved me, since I didn't do so good on the tests.
