I've had her for three classes so far and she does great in both small and large class settings. The smaller discussion classes can be kinda boring, especially if you're not interested in the topic, but she's hot so it's not that bad.

Not super exciting. Doesn't seem to expect much from students. Material seemed very watered-down, very little depth. Likes to ask open ended questions that no one feels like answering because there are no wrong answers or it's obvious. SO easy. I'm a little insulted... I wanted to learn something!

Prof. F. is a very easy teacher. She really enjoys psychology and teaching it. The first half of the class is extremely boring and repetitive, reading articles and presenting them in class, I don't think I learned anything. Do the work and you will get an A.

Very easy. Exams are extremely easy. Great teacher though, even in her upper level classes.

Very Intelligent and beautiful

Dr. Fenstermacher is very thorough and incredibly nice. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are a series of unannounced in-class activities that do make up a good portion of your overall grade. There is a fair bit of reading, but the test are easy.

Fenstermacher is a really nice professor. She is friendly and tries to get the class involved in class despite that its lecture style. She doesn't expect a super huge amount of work from you, and the exams are fairly straight forward.

Fenstermacher explained things in a powerpoint lecture style, and sometimes seemed socially awkward when attempting to engage us in participating but since it was a lecture it was kind of amusing. Overall she was very clear in her teaching and exams were straight forward, gives opportunities to get extra credit. Definitely recommend her!

So here's the thing with Sue, super nice, super smart, super good; however, she has a hard time "connecting" with students--always feels like its a forced professor/student bond. STUDY THE BOOK/IN CLASS NOTES. Make sure you know VOCAB. Nevertheless she is really knowledgable and totally willing to help.

I took developmental and social psych with her and enjoyed both classes. She is very clear about expectations and truly wants students to do well. Classes can be a little dry, although she does make an effort to make interesting popculture connections to the material. If you go to class and pay attention, you will do well on the exams.

I had Professor Fenstermacher for introductory psych. She was very cheerful and obviously prepared for her classes. She seemed very approachable, and everyone in the class seemed to enjoy her as a professor. There isn't really anything bad I have to say about her; highly recommended professor.

A semi-heavy workload but because of the point system, you don't have to do everything. Fenstermacher was helpful and approachable and lectures were interesting and easy to follow. Tests aren't super hard as long as you study.

Some of my classmates don't like Susan's teaching style, but personally I think she's awesome. She explains and interprets the material very well to avoid confusion. I typically don't read the textbook until the night before an exam and I got B's on all of them. Go to lecture, take notes & study for exams and you'll be fine. Straightforward stuff.

Professor Fenstermacher gave pretty interesting lectures, she used videos and referenced a lot of psychological studies that exemplify a topic. Going to class is much more important than reading the book, tests are multiple choice and based off of the lectures. She offers a lot of extra credit and if you do it, it can help you a lot.

She speaks slowly to make sure every student can understand her. Even though she spends too much time to talk about coming up exams or this week schedule which I think is wasting time, she cares about her students for sure.

Super easy class. Lectures are very clear and she makes material very, very easy to learn. One of the easiest classes I've ever had but there is work to do - some papers, "lab" time, memorizing terms.

Go to class & you'll do well. Sometimes she can be too much to handle early in the morning but for the most part the class was tolerable. She's also eager to help you if you have a problem.

Teaches some of the material we learn from Acrobatiq which is useful so that we remember it easier. The exams cover a ton of material so you really need to be good at memorizing to do well on them. The units take forever to take notes on so you really need to be committed to the class if you want to do well.

The class was really easy and she's super nice. She's also well organized and provides tons of extra credit opportunities.

Sue is a solid teacher, very interested in the material and very responsive to student questions. She and Larry make 001 a great class to introduce you to lots of aspects of psychology and give you room to try lots of different approaches. Would definitely take her again.

130 is a good class. Lots of extra credit chances. I'm getting an A despite having bombed one test because I maxed out the extra credit. You can do extra credit on really fun things like your favorite TV show or novel just by tying it back to Social Psych. One and only issue: asks, "Does that make sense?" every third sentence. Otherwise great.

Susan was great. Her lectures were interesting and she always used comedy clips from the office or WKUK to drive home her points. Her tests were highly grounded in applying concepts which is great if you're really trying to prove yourself. Would definitely take another class of hers (she will override you!)

Love her and made me love social psychology! I am so able to apply the concepts she taught because of her real life examples and applications of the concepts on exams.

I really love this professor. It is clear what is expected of each student and she does a great job teaching. There are many opportunities to improve your grades as well. She is super clear in class, her slides are fantastic, and you don't really have to go to class but it definitely helps . I would love to take another class with her.

At first she comes off as a tad bit boring, but after a whole semester with her her class was really valuable! Her lectures are engaging and interesting.

To start off my class had two professors (not sure if that's typical) one who taught on Tuesday and Professor Fenstermacher on Thursdays. I personally found Professor Fenstermacher's teaching style to be much better! She explains everything clearly and she really knows what she's talking about.

Dr. F was extremely considerate and accommodating during the coronavirus crisis. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit and really just wants you to do her best. She is extremely encouraging and will never make you feel dumb for getting an answer wrong.

Fenstermacher is an awesome professor. Her powerpoint were clear and easy to understand and the homework you have to complete is actually helpful to understand the material. She gives a ton of extra credit so there is no way you can fail the class. I would love to take another class with her.

She is one of UVM's finest. She always comes to class with a smile on her face, happy to teach her students. She is happy to help students outside of class. She asks questions in class to keep the students engaged. I was struggling with knowing if I chose the right major, and her class reassured me that I want to work in psychology.

This semester has been the hardest period of education in my life so far and Prof Fenstermacher's class is literally the only thing getting me through. Her lectures are engaging, clear, and she is such a kind human being. Super upset I may never meet her in person, she seems awesome! Also sometimes she will show her cats to the class online :)

Professor F is truly amazing! The class itself was "eh", but he always made it a good time. He cares about his students and always leaves time for question sessions at the end of class. Class is not mandatory, but it helps to go. Grading criteria made it LITERALLY impossible to fail the class which is wonderful! Minimal effort! Easy A! Recommend!

When I tell you I LOVED Professor Fenstermacher. Not only is she really knowledgeable, but she made everything so easy to understand and made the class so enjoyable. The material for her social psychology class is super easy to grasp, but her teaching style and kindness/understanding as a professor made me 10/10 want to take another class of hers.

Dr. Fenstermacher is clear, organized, caring, and enjoyable. Her lectures are awesome, her assignments are engaging without being overwhelming, and the classes I took with her were perfectly adapted to the limitations presented by COVID-19. She is clearly committed to creating the perfect courses for her students, and she delivers. She's the best.

I love Prof. Fenstermacher! She made learning social psych super interesting and ended up pushing a lot of our due dates back because she realized how stressed we all were with no break and all of our classes. Only two papers (1 4-page and 1 2.5-page). The reading and videos were really cool so I'd highly recommend.

I loved Prof. F! She was an excellent professor and had incredibly clear grading criteria. There was one big paper but she gave us three tries to do it, and a template. There were six tests but they were manageable, her lectures were easy to understand. She is very kind and was available for extra help, as well as the TAs.

Prof is a very good teacher; she doesn't need to read off a script or anything, she just knows the material and explains it clearly and in an interesting way. She is flexible and helpful with students; she gives lots of time for assignments and grades generously. Tons of EC available. And she is a FASHION ICON. Kind of obsessed with her fits.

LOOOOVED her Social Psychology class! Made lectures so interesting! Prof. Fenstermacher is such a knowledgable professor and it is clear she cares about her students. Drops the lowest exam score which is awesome and for writing assignments the GTA is available to go over drafts with you so take advantage of that for sure!! Would highly recommend!

I LOVE her! She is my favorite professor. She is very clear in what she is looking for and even has templates for the papers and assignments. There are readings, but I essentially transcribed her lectures for my notes, memorized them, and did well (a few Qs from the reading only on exams). Her lectures are very straightforward and easy to follow.

Dr. Fenstermacher is very sweet and has a great personality but the class can get a bit boring. It can be hard to stay focused in class due to the material being very basic and not in-depth but I guess that is just what comes with an intro class.

Susan is a total vibe. Psych 130 was relatively hard: however, Susan's grading is always tough but fair. Students are provided with several opportunities to bump up their grades and gain extra credit points. Exams are count for a large percentage of grade, but aren't ridiculously long or difficult. Susan dresses fire, and is just a total badass

Sue is one of my favorite professors at UVM. She is so nice and makes everything clear and easy to understand in lectures. The various assignments we did were always related to the material we learned in class, and lectures were never hard to sit through.

I had her and Dr. Rudiger as teachers for PSYS 001. I went to about three classes and then stopped. This course is pretty much asynchronous. They don't take attendance and all the lectures and modules were online. This class is also primarily self-paced. I know this doesn't work for everyone, but it worked well with my busy schedule.

She is so nice and has amazing lectures!!! Super engaging and the class work is clear.

Dr. F's social psych course was just the right amount of challenging. Her tests were very doable and if you study you will do well. I just love her personality and her outfits, she makes you feel comfortable. Her lectures were interactive and funny, and you can tell she knows her stuff. She records them on teams as well.

I love Dr. Fenstermacher! Her lectures are super accessible, as she records them on Teams, and there are tons of extra credit options. She's a great lecturer, and definitely puts care into her slides and lectures so we actually understand things. I like how she uses examples of experiments to help us understand concepts. I highly recommend PSYS130!

Great Professor and interesting material! The lectures were boring at times but Dr F managed to make things interesting whenever she could. Exams make up a lot of your grade but she drops the lowest exam and you're graded on other stuff too. Take good notes, do the assigned readings, and study for the exams and you will be fine!

sue is lovely and has incredible outfits. class is super interesting as all the topics are easy to relate to real life. perfect level of challenging. hw is easy and tests are manageable if you study. i didnt even hate doing the textbook readings that much. made me decide to keep being a psys major.

Prof Fenstermacher is great. Her lectures are useful and straight to the point.Laptops are only allowed on the side and in the back. She posts the visual aids so you can review them later. Attendance is not required to do well but her lectures do help quite a bit. She is thorough with instructions and is always open to answer questions.

PSYS1400 was the easiest class ever. I stopped going to lectures during the last half of the semester because everything was online. The lectures are boring, but if you have trouble with the online material it helps if you attend. Overall the class is an easy A. Susan is really nice and energetic, but this specific class was super boring.

Sue was great compared to Larry, she gets you in and out covers what needs to be covered and then lets you leave. Overall the lectures are not necessary in order to pass this class but they do help you understand everything. This class consists of taking 33 quizzes online but you can retake them multiple times. Super easy if the work is put in.

she is a very sweet and kind professor, and the class has a very clear structure. the lectures can get tiresome, but she tries her best to keep it interesting. grades are very much based on exams which are fair although not extremely easy.

She treats us like humans but still if you don't ever go to class you probably wont do well on the exams. pretty easy class generally but study at least a tiny bit and it'll be easy to get an A (she didnt do A+)

PSYS2300 was the most interesting class I've ever taken. With her stories and excitement in telling them, Dr F makes it easy to engage in class. She LOVES it when students participate and her responses to in class questions are so intuitive and productive. If you pay attention in this class, it will be worth it. Sue is amazing!! So good at explaining topics, it makes her exams feel like a breeze. I recommend reading the textbook outside of class and attending the lectures, in case you miss something, because while the exams may be relatively easy, they are very thorough. I say pop quizzes only because she has in class writing assignments occasionally for participation.

Susan is very sweet, and it is evident that she loves teaching. Class was a bit lecture heavy, and attendance was not mandatory but she would randomly give out in class writings. Tests are a bit hard but she does drop your lowest test grade and let you write papers in place of 2 tests. Read the textbook and pay attention and you should be good!

Social Psych is all lectures and its a huge class. Don't really need the textbook but it helps, main complaint is that 80% of your grade is based on the 5 exams you take during the semester. Lotta study sessions pre exam, term heavy and you have to know a lot of studies that they teach about for the exams.

Dr. F is one of my fav professors! She's very approachable and respects her students. She's also very very accommodating, which makes her class a lot less stressful. Her syllabus is very clear and well thought out. She doesn't give a lot of homework, but her exams require lots of studying and are worth 80% of your grade. Also offers lots of EC

Prof Fenstermacher is the best! It is lecture heavy but quite engaging. There are only a few homework assignments. Attendance is not "mandatory" but she does surprise participation credit in class a few times. Her exams require a lot of studying! Study her lecture slides and take good notes! There is lots of extra credit opportunities.

Graded on four exams and in class assignments. Attendance isn't taken, but I recommend it. The final is partially cumulative, but if you study the notes, textbook and journals you'll be fine. She also allows you to write papers for two exams to be averaged and boost those exam grades.

Professor Sue Fenstermacher is an inspiration, it was a pleasure being in her class. While attendance isn't mandatory, I highly recommend going to the class since thats all you need to be prepared for the tests. Wasn't an overly difficult class, just stay on top of any extra credit and assignments.

Dr. Fenstermacher was really nice. I went to lectures (although you don't really have to because everything's online) and she was great at explaining things. Even if I'd already done the online test for that week, I'd go and hear her explain extra content that wasn't on the test simply because it was interesting.

Dr. Fenstermacher is great. Her outfits were always popping. She is a great lecturer and is very capable of explaining the information.

Lectures are engaging and help with understanding. Studying for exams can be difficult as study guides do not help much. Attendance isn't mandatory but there are occasional in-person activities that are graded and I lowkey recommend going to help with understanding of material. Grading scale for homework and such is fair.

this woman is an angel! I loved this class and would recommend to anyone. Class is relatively slow paced so I did not feel stressed by it but I was able to learn a lot because of her teaching style and how passionate she is about the subject.

I love this professor, as a psych major at UVM I've taken her classes more than twice and she never fails to teach me more. Not to mention her sense of style is to die for!! Super sweet professor and insanely smart. You can tell she really cares about what she's teaching. Just make sure you attend classes, she does “pop” attendance sheets.

She is such a good lecturer and she knows a lot about what she teaches. This class is mostly graded from exams, so study hard if test taking isn't your thing. It isn't mine and I still managed to get an A-. Do extra credit assignments, they are pretty easy! Professor Fenstermacher is really kind and cool!

Sue is awesome. Social development is a great class. Much of it relies on group projects. Lots of lecturing, but she invites students to participate in the class and the class is much better when students do. She is quick to respond to emails and available outside class. Very passionate and wants the best for u. And the drip is so real all the time
