Seems to be slightly unorganized and distracted. But a fairly easy class.
She's easy, but she gets distracted easily.
Easy A, but lectures are a bit scattered, not too focused!
I got an A in these courses, lecturs are bit tangent and unclear.

GREAT TEACHER! A little disorganized, but very interesting.
totally cool but kinda scattered
Has something against Christianity, Liberal, but fun conversations & presentatio
Unorganized. Don't know grade and its finals wk. Final only for c&below people.
she is an excellent instructor that I've ever met, she's very helpful and nice
unorganized, but cares about her students. An easy class
Unorganized, knows what she is talking about. But, only likes her own opinion.
Fun and easy class

good teacher! she made history fun and interesting. but, she was unorganized. (she was teaching a lot of classes) Lots of h/w and writing involved when i took it (fall 02') but she said she would assign less next semester.
awesome teacher, makes class fun. She is very upbeat. I didn't ever want to miss class because she made it so interesting.
She teaches as if she is telling a story, it makes the class very interesting!
Great teaching style, makes lectures interesting. Take home tests, however the class is a lot of work!
She is an awsome instructor. Her classes are very interesting. There is a bit of reading to do but that is to be expected in any class. She's great, up-beat, and helpful. I plan on taking another course with her next semester.
Fun to listen too. For once i didn't fall asleep in a history class. She loves what she teaches. Gives all Take home tests, one paper. The best method of teaching i think. I learned a lot. if u put effort in you will get an A.
She's the best teacher ever. Her assignments are not hard. If you have a friend take the class with you then that's even better because then you can help eachother.
Great. Take home tests, and interesting. attendance doesnt affect grade.

She was so mean and very discouraging. She doesn't even follow her own dricetions. Grades hard and gives A LOT of homework.
She is a great professor. If you want to learn about women, take her class! She gives take home tests and is always willing to help you. Her lectures are upbeat and fun and she shows a lot of movies. Take her class and you won't be sorry.
She makes history interesting and fun. Most of the tests are take home and the final is a cinch. She is always willing to help and will work with you. She is the most empowering teacher/woman Ive ever met!
She is a very good professor. She makes history very interesting. I enjoyed the lechtures. The tests are kind of hard, but if you come to class and work hard you will get a good grade. Overall this class was great because of her teaching techniques.
Very fun and interesting. Great course for a history credit.
VERY EASY CLASS. YOU HAVE 4 TAKE HOME TEST AND 1 IN CLASS TEST. ONE RESEARCH PAPER THAT IS ALSO VERY EASY. COOL CLASS, MS GONDA IS GREAT, AND IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING CLASS. MS GONDA IS ALSO VERY HELPFUL AND SHES A LOT OF FUN.
Lectures are fun & exciting, side stories make history come to life. The exams require a great deal of time and effort, but good attendance & good note taking makes it much easier. A great Prof who loves her subject & involves you in learning. A+
Charismatic, enthusiastic and so excited about her material you can't help but get involved. Best History Prof I've had yet!
best history professor ever. she is passionate about what she teaches. easy a if you read all the assigned work.
awesome- a very understanding and helpful teacher
best teacher i have ever had. She inspired me to further my studies in history.
A good history teacher, inspired me to get my bachelors in history which I now have. Thank You Dr. Gonda!
Good teacher. Loves her job, and the subject. Makes the class somewhat interesting, but its still history. Tests are take home, but involve a lot of work. Allows late papers. As long as u read and take good notes, you should do fine. I'd say she is prolly the best history teacher to take.
Prof. Gonda is such a great teacher! Brings history to life with stories. Don't miss class+ do the reading + do the take home test's = A in the class. You rock Dr. Gonda!
Yeah, her class was easy, but she was very disorganized. She also couldn't be relied on to help you with anything. Alltogether, though work is easy, you will not learn anything from her class and it will quickly become a boring waste of time.
who rated her hot, she is not. she was MIA half the time and when she was there she gave us super hard tests where the questions are vague and general and ultimatly lame. her lectures were interesting, and everything else sucked.
this class was terrible. The take home tests are sooo time consuming which makes them hard.
Very knowledable and to the point. She doesn't like anyone being rude which keeps the class on track. Not as clear as she could be but makes up for it by having open class to questions. Take home tests a little time consuming but helps you in the end. My opinion, second to Contreras. Take them both.
Very nice teacher. Her tests are super easy and they are all take home. I do not like history but she made it very intresting. She even curves the midterm. As long as you take notes you will get an A.
If you don't like to read, do not take her class for a winter intersession. I didn't care for her teaching techinque. She told stories a lot and for me, that was confusing.
Great teacher, lots of history knowledge and fun to listen to! Great Story teller. Watch out for those tests, the questions are a little bit deeper than most might prepare for pay attention to key words!!!!!
She is a passionate, enthusiastic, encouraging teacher, who is fair in her grading and assignments. If you are not interested in history, you will be. It is obvious that she wants you to be successful, but that does not mean that this class is easy. No effort, No grade.
If you study you'll do well. Teacher is very unorganized, seemingly dazed and confused, and often absent or late. Teachers scoring seems to be subjective.
Gonda is AWESOME. Yes, she is often late and absent, but she ALWAYS makes it fair for your assignments, when this happens. You canNOT go wrong if you take her. She is fun, informative, encouraging, open, fair, and she always makes she the environment is safe for students to be open. You have a ORAL presentation @end of semester.
Gonda is very passionate about the subject & assigns good readings. HOWEVER, she's VERY unorganized, misses class often, unclear about assignment requirements, & her tests are SO HARD! She doesn't keep a running record of your grade during the semester so you are given a BAD surprise @ the end! Don't take her class unless you want 2 struggle 4 a C!
not only is dr. gonda unorganized, unclear and unreliable, but she is also unprofessional. i had concerns about my final grade and she never responded to me. i had limited ways of reaching her and she failed to respond to all three of my emails. do not take her classes if you are a responsible and hard working scholar.
She knows alot about history but gets side tracked very easily. She missed three classes in a row and tests seemed biased to what she thought was important. Nice person but very unreliable.
Look at the comments. People are giving her smiley faces and then complaining about how she was unreliable and a bad teacher. Do not take her class!
Class was a total joke class was highly unorganized she was always at least 5 minutes late, didn't even show up to class for aprox 2 or so weeks. Her class appears to be easy then she throws in a ridiculous report that is out of now where. then she passes everyone with a C- or better that way no one will report her. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!
Has you buy 4 books and barely uses them. Has you buy a CD text with one of her essays on it for like $40 so she can collect the royalties. If you do the project you must do a topic about women for any chance at an A, if you catch my drift. When she does show up she is late and gets angry at herself for it. She is a scatterbrain. Not recomended.
Dude, Dr. G is the****. anyone who thinks she is a hard teacher is an idiot, she works with you on everything, and answers any question you could ever have. oh ya and she basically gives you the test answers in class, so pay attention and you wont have a
Ms. Gonda is super cool. She's a history nerd, like she says, so when she lectures, it isn't at all boring. She makes history fun and the tests are pretty easy. She gives study guides. And whoever says her class is boring is just weird... I totally recommend her class.
Early American Hist 108: This teacher is HORRIBLE! I mean don't get me wrong, her lectures are somewhat interesting and she seems approchable. But she only has you do three assignments thruout the whole quarter, so if you don't do so hot, you're screwed. Also her study guides NEVER match the test, she expects you to understand everything she says,
She is nice a little scattered but nice. Not very clear on what she wants done and not very organized. But she make the class fun and intersting.
Can it get any better? Her lectures are like stories, her tests are open note/book, her assignments are one page max, and she is a truly interesting person to get to know. The funny thing is that she makes history so interesting by the time finals come around you surprisingly remember everything.
Sue was a true professor- she taught you to love the subject she was teaching. She is full of fascinating tidbits about history that you've never heard before. Every class was like story time. She absolutely loves her job and her students and her passion is contagious. I absolutely reccommend her!
Awesome! Her class has made me want to change my major. Everything is so interesting, you don't even feel like it's work! And she is so nice!
She was great and really helpful to me when I had to miss classes due to an emergency. She wants her students to do well and really cares about you. Take her class!!!!!
Look, Sue is very knowledgable in history, and she does express her passion! The class was interesting, but her problem is that she has a very unfair grading system! What she expects from students is unreasonable and completely unfair! I worked by butt off, and barely got a B! You can try taking this class, but good luck and study real real hard!!!
I just have to say, Sue's grading system isn't that bad- yeah you have to do some tough work. But you're in college now. Step up.
She is a very passionate and intelligent instructor. She made the class interesting. I felt that she took on too many outside jobs as well, so she did not give her full attention to teaching. Our class got behind and we didn't do all of the things we were supposed to. She's a good teacher though and provides study guides for every test. Take her!
Really not as great of a teacher as what everyone says on here. She is bi-polar. She can be quite rude sometimes and call students out and embarrass them in front of everyone. I don't like how she lectures she stands up in the middle of class and lectures, no powerpoints or anything she does try to help sometimes by hinting what to write down.
worst teacher ever, i was in class all the time and always raised my hand and still she didn't give any participation points, not a lot of homework but boy does she except a lot from you, also she will drop her students if they miss more than 3 day, Its Not a easy A, Study Alot, She Says She's Here To teach And Not Here To Be Your Friend.
She is very passionate , Very helpful, and she knows where to find the information you need for your assignments. Most of the homework is reading based, but you need to study. If you don't show up for class, you will fail. Many questions on her tests are from her lecture. She is very kind, but fair. Don't expect to get a good grade unearned
EXCESSIVE WORK.The quizzez are confusing& hard, & i did all the work(many videos, ppts, readings, etc) for every thurs and satur. In discussions boards you must use all sources &writealmost an essay or else she takes points away & then respond to other two people very detailed and using all sources. just this last part took me about 3-4 hours.:(
Makes history relevant! She tries to help you where she can. Gives good feed back on test!
I took Professor Gonda during intersession 2016, very easy class as long as you do the reading and contribute to the discussion boards you will pass, being an online class the quizzes are open book. Her final exam was an essay that was fairly easy. I would re-take any other courses she offered.
She is highly knowledgeable in her field. Scantrons for this class NOT needed as all her quizzes and tests are write-in/essay style and that is why many students have a problem with her. If you prefer memorizing answers for tests and filling in bubbles then this class is not for you. Expect to use your critical thinking skills for her class.
Prof. Gonda was a great teacher. Took her online for the 8 week course. Readings, videos and quizzes twice a week, pretty easy and straightforward. Also there is extra credit. I got an A with minimal knowledge in history and time involvement in the course.
Prof. Gonda should definitely be a choice to consider! I have take her twice at the community college level, and I am very excited to take her for upper division classes! She really knows how to present information in a way for her students to really grasp and appreciate the context, and if you have a question she is more than happy to help!
Her class was easy as she uses semi-generic test questions. We had only 2 essay tests and her final was an interview of someone that was born before the 1970's. Easy class though the test used multiple sources ( videos, textbook, powerpoints) which was a bit annoying to follow but with an hour to take a 20 question test you could look up stuff.
She was rather scattered. The syllabus changed several times, & due dates were shifted around. Also the class was changed to be half online at the beginning of the semester, but no one was informed so everyone showed up the first day. Not many things that counted for our grade, but a lot of extra credit was offered, not many points given for them.
P. Gonda was pretty good, it's hard to rate her person since I took her online history class. There was a quiz every week and you have to do a lot of reading in order to be prepared. The worst part was the occasional LENGTHY free response questions for the quizzes but other than that, it was a pretty average class. The final was extremely easy.
It's a History class, you have to read to understand what is going on. She gives amazing lectures. Each week you get a To-do list, you have to read from page A to page B, and answer a quiz before the lecture on Thursday. You won't pass the quizzes if you don't read, she has questions from the lecture and from the text book.
I am currently in her online History 109 class and it is the worse thing I have ever done. She assigns a big paper near the end of the semester and gives the worst feedback for the parts adding up to the paper. She only tells you what is wrong, but not why it's wrong. I am currently clueless and have no idea what I am doing wrong. Worst class EVER.
I'm taking her for women's history and she is a true intersectional feminist. She may be scattered with some dates but this class is not difficult. She gives MANY xc opportunities and talks to her students about their grades/projects/concerns frequently so she is very flexible and understanding. This course is amazing, take it.
She has a PHD in history but has a hard time applying lectures online and making them easy to follow - everything is scattered. The syllabus says due dates are Thur/Sun but she'll sometimes switch them around causing missed assignments if you're not constantly on it. Her quizzes aren't clear and some questions have her opinion so it's confusing.
This is the terrible professor I ever had. I don't recommend to take her at all I passed her class with C. But she gives to much discussions and quizzes and writing. She's really bad on grading and she focus on every single word you turn in. Often she gives you chance to redo the assignment but most of the times just give zero if its incorrect.
I took Gonda online, so all of her lectures were typed (with slides). She has perfected being engaging in an online class, something many profs struggle with. I took her eight-week course, so that's why we had so many deadlines so quickly. I had an A until the last couple weeks of class, so if you fall behind, it's difficult to catch up.
Shes a feminist at best but, if your not a history major this class is excruciating to get through some days. And is very lecture heavy so dont go to class is youre often tired.
She might be the one with the best rate in here, but I bet any of those professors are billion time better than this woman. SHE IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She grades you by every single detail, and if she doesn't like it, she will give you a zero, no matter if your answer make sense or not. Assignments are not clear!!!!!!!DO NOT TAKE HER
I don't get why some people had a problem with her. I took her both semesters last year, and she explained anything anyone ever asked. She RESPONDS TO EMAILS and gives you a chance to do something again if you failed and go and talk to her. She's smart and nice. She relates history to what's going on today-not just memorizing dates and stuff
Prof Gonda is so incredibly nice. She offered many different EC opportunities, I took her 8 week course and I loved the material she covered. She is one tough grader though, details are so important to her. There were a couple of times when she didn't post something on time and gave us extra time to complete the assignments. I would take her again.
Gonda is great! She is super sweet and her modules are super organized and quite easy. Just read, view the powerpoints and occasionally write a discussion during her quizzes. Tons of extra credit, only two papers on events you get to choose. Online was only 8 weeks so it moves fast, two modules a week, but totally doable.
Professor Gonda is a fair grader and very good at telling the REAL story of American history. I learned so much and can honestly say I feel like my views and opinions on social matters are changed because of her class. She's extremely passionate about history and it shows in her modules. 10/10 would recommend Sue Gonda.
Took her in spring 2020 online as an 8 wk class. You have tests and discussion posts but she gives a study guide for every test. There are TONS of extra credit options available. Just take notes based on the study guides and don't really worry about anything else. There are 2 primary source essay papers, but she's not a harsh grader.
theres a discussion and a test every module and there are two modules per week due thursday and sunday. she gives many opportunities for extra credit which is nice. the material is super interesting also. as long as you put the effort in, you should pass.
Solid teacher, usual workload with a couple papers along the way. Fairly easy grader. Lots of extra credit opportunities that are honestly easier than the usual assignments. Pretty easy A, just turn things in on time and youre good!
Prof. Gonda is really nice. I took her online 8-week course and really enjoyed the material. There are 2 modules per week (1 quiz per module), a few papers, and opportunities for extra credit. If you do the reading and take the quizzes on time you'll do fine. These 8-week courses are pretty fast paced, so make sure you stay on top of everything.
