At times it seems you're not learning anything, but English 101 is a writing class and she has you write a lot. I found her class to be really educational, and she's the person who got me into writing.

I took Henry for four different semesters and I have no complaints. She loves what she teaches and gives lots of chances for you to get a good grade (daily quizzes, etc). Do the readings and you will be fine.

I have never had an english teacher this boooooooring! Everybody was basically falling asleep in her class. If you love english, then you should not take her at all. If you want an easy A, then just go ahead, but you better be good at in class essays!

She's a great teacher. She's very charming and friendly with every student. Participation is the first important thing in her class. You have to show her that you're willing to express yourself by participating. She's great.

She is very organized, actually follows her syllabus schedule through the end of the term, so the workload is not ridiculous. Gives test questions a week prior to in-class exams...I recommend taking her classes, but sign up on time.. many people trying to add were turned down.

Took her for Summer, got B's on everything but ended up with an A. It's one of those classes that as long as you participate and attend as well as get B's low or high you'll get an A. She's very sweet and is a very easy schedule. She actually follows her syllabus fully so just read it day 1 and see if you can manage it.

I LUV THIS PROF! she's the best. VERY clear and straightforward. Be sure to keep up with ur attendance, otherwise, it can kill ye at the end. i found this class EXTREMELY fun, maybe cuz i always participated! don't be shy, just raise ur hand and be opinionated! she has such a cheerful personality, i'm looking forward to another class with her!

This class is easy because you only have two or three major things: the research paper, the essays in class, and the quizzes. She doesn't return the essays quickly that's why you end up repeating the same mistakes on your next in class essay. The quizzes are easy. She grades the essays really hard. I actually like her. i have her literature class and she doesn't go over grammer in my class, not at all. maybe she used to but not this time. she is very nice and clear and smart. yes, deosn't return essay and quizes back soon and for like two or three weeks u don't know how did u do. have quizes on readings everyday but very easy. just be ready.

Expect a lot of reading! And a quiz on a daily basis on the reading. But what else can you expect from an english lit class? She's one smart lady with clear instructions and very do-able expectations. I learned a lot of from this class!!

I took her class a year ago and still believe that she is a very good teacher. Someone is being unfair by the rating. She doesn't give the answer because she encourge the students to think. I learned and had fun in her class

She's a really nice woman and if you are the type of student who actually does the work and shows a bit of interest you will get a good grade (just like any class). Her quizzes are so easy because she just wants to test to see if you read it or not and their 20% of your grade, which is a good thing they are easy! essay topics are very clear too :]

i had her for english 101 too, i think she's the sweetest lady ever! i absolutely love her classes, you just have to make sure to read at least a little and participate in class and you'll be fine. i recommend. :]

Very sweet lady. Totally willing to help you if you have any questions but you have to do be willing to show up and do the work. Easy A if you put in the effort

She is a great English teacher. Attendance is a must but homework isn't assigned. She's always willing to help her students and she is a very understand teacher. I wasn't too happy taking this course at first, but she made the experience better.

She is an easy teacher. I had her for honors and had an easy A in the class. But she is paranoid. I was out sick for three days in the hospital and I called her and she gave me a B because I had a C in attendance and a 97% in everything else. She kept apologizing but over all NUTSSSSOOOO.

Her almost-everyday-quizzes are EAZZY as long as you read the myths..essay questions are given a week b4 the exams so you have a lot of time to prepare.. She checks her students' outlines before each exam so that they'd get a better grade.. she's very helpful and sweet! I enjoyed her class and insights!!

Attend every class, participate in class discussions, visit her office hours and in the end of the class she will pull up your grade. My average in class was C-B, I got final grade A. thanks Ms. Henry.

I started the class getting awesome grades on my essays. She told me I was doing great in the class with all my participation and all ... then I ended up getting a B in the class. Not terrible, I know, but not the A I was working so hard for. She's a good teacher, but I guess participation doesn't matter.

She is the sweetest teacher ever. She is always willing to talk to you after class in order to help you out. Super easy quizzes. Dont really need the english book.i used the old engish edition to read the short readings. Easy class.

A really sweet lady. She does play favorites, especially if you're a cute guy, but it's nothing really serious. She is very helpful and the class isn't hard at all. If you're great to moderate at English writing you'll ace the class.

One of the few professors at GCC who actually care about her students. She is very helpful! Fairly easy class, must attend class and do the reading because she quizes you on what you have read every morning (EASY). Essays are written in class, I wasn't a big fan, but it grew on me. Seriouslly take her!!! you wont regret it, unless your lazy!

This professor is great. She CARES about your structure when you write. She's very nice and has a calm attitude. Will try to make you laugh and you'll get a chuckle but still. Simple class just put in the effort. Will be taking her again.

Really good mythology teacher. Very knowledgable. Her tests and term paper are a bit challenging just because she expects extremely well developed writing skills with little, or none at all, use of summary and paraphrasing. If you want to lean about world mythology, I recommend her class.

Very helpful and understanding, has surprise quizzes but are really simple and straight forward

You must attend EVERY session. She grades hard on attendance. I will not take her again for English.

This English 116 class was the best. Our final was easy; we have to read a play in front of the class and write two short essays about the play that we have chosen. Her pop quizzes were easy, but you have to read all the plays as she might give random pop quizzes in any of the twelve plays. Ms. Henry made me love reading plays for fun.

Pretty good professor, although that may depend on which class you take with her. When I had her Intro to Drama class, she was a fair grader, encouraged discussions, and was overall a good instructor. There were a lot of reading material and quizzes involved, so doing your reading is a must!

The basic set up of the class is there for you to succeed. Quizzes are meant to boost your grade not hurt it so make sure you read. All tests are essays and be very specific with your analysis she want analysis not plot summary.

Extremly nice and very helpful. The class is tough, requires hours of reading but very interesting subject. Very similar to an English class. Would definitely recommend her to my friends. Grading is very fair. 3 short essay tests +a final. Gives the test question before hand with lots of prep time. She is passionate about the subject. Awesome class

Participation, attendance, and getting an A on her quizzes will give you an 80% chance of getting an A. The rest is the 3 short story essays plus the final which will determine your grade from an A or B if you did what I mentioned above. Her lectures are boring but very informative if you can stay awake through it. Also, She is a very sweet lady.

It is not as difficult, but you have to put the effort -it's college! Her teaching is very clear, you'll know what she wants. 4 essays (including final),8 pop quizzes, readings for every class & you must show up to class! You can e-mail her essay outline and she provides feedback! Overall she was good and she went to Columbia, so expects effort.

This class was late at night and she lectured the entire time! Even when there was no more to be said, she kept on going until the end of class. It's all in class essays and quizzes from the reading. She wants people to write 500 words, no more or less. Trust me, she will deduct points if you go OVER the limit. Plays change each semester.

Professor Henry is very clear about what she's looking for from students. Essays are a large part of the grade, but she's always willing to help students with their outlines during office hours or through e-mail. She's truly passionate about English and is easily the best English professor I've taken at GCC.

I enjoyed her class . As long as you read and show up to her class you will pass . She is a nice lady and very knowledgeable of mythology . Her class is extremely interesting but not challenging she treats you like a high school student . other than that her class is very fun and easy .

I took her for Humanities 115. Her class is heavy based reading and her exams are mainly essay written. She will allow students to write the names of the mythological stories or characters on the board before each exam. There are random quizzes she does so keep up with your readings. as long as you do well on the quizzes/exams, you'll be fine.

I had her two semesters in a row, & absolutely loved her! she is always so excited to talk about the readings, and even though the class is a lot of reading, and a lot to remember she makes it fun and easy! she always gets back to all her emails fairly quickly but she is extremely helpful!

Do the readings because she will pop quiz you. The quizzes are easy and I recommend skimming the stories before class. Shes very friendly and willing to help answer questions. Attendance and tardiness will hurt your grade in the class so be there on time. Essay exams are easy if you go over your stories. Use flash cards to help memorize.

Professor Henry is awesome. She is very knowledgeable about Humanities. She knew everything and than some. The catch is to also know your English because her tests include essays and she likes a correct thesis. I learned a lot and had to work real hard in her class.

Professor Henry is a good professor. However, she is extremely strict. She emphasizes more English in her class than she does Humanities simply because she use to be an English teacher. There is a lot of wonderful content to learn in her class though. Her class was pretty fun. However, her class is a lot of work. Be prepared to read & write a lot!

this class is a little test heavy due to reading so many books. just make sure to actually read the chapters and the quizzes are easy. such a down to earth teacher and really cares about her students. a few pop quizzes here and there, but just pay attention and follow directions and you'll do well

Professor Henry is a great Professor, she is really fun to talk to and she makes her lectures really enjoyable. I would 100 percent take her class again, but be prepared to read especially if your gonna take her for summer because there are a lot of stories and not enough time. but that being said once you get the hang of it, then it becomes easy.

Took her class for Mythology. She's very nice, and is easy to follow. She relies a lot on you having and reading the textbooks, but you CAN do well without them (I did). There were quite a few essays too, but they weren't very long or difficult to do. Had a good time, and the class is very entertaining as well as helpful.

She does lots of pop quizzes. But its just on small a page max three little stories. A poem occasionally. You read 1 book thats not that tough. She lectures the entire time. no phones, no group up, and mandatory attendance. That's about it . twice a week attendance, so one of those days answer one of them days and your good.
