Susan is the nicest tough eng prof I have ever had! Her class was challenging but she made it fun too! She loves Huckleberry Finn. I highly recomend her classes.

no need to do the reading, she goes over everything in class. the tests are directly off the study guide questions which she spends the whole class period going over. take notes during class and get an easy A.

Professor Howe has a passion for teaching. She is very down to earth and easily engaged in interesting class discussions. What I like most about this Professor is that she is dedicated to the success of students and wants us all to succeed. She gives her all and then some!

I really, really loved Prof. Howe. I love English anyway, but she made it fun and entertaining. If you do have a problem with English, then she will go out of her way to help you in anyway she can. She always had funny stories and I learned so much about literature. I would highly recommend taking Prof. Howe!

Im in my last couple years now at Sac State, and out of all my professors she is my all time fave. Compassionate, intelligent, witty, funny, inspiring, in all honesty, I cant say enough. She has had an effect on me that she will never understand, I will never forget her. I think that sums it up.

During the sem. I have learned a great deal about writing, and Mark Twain while still enjoying the environment created by the Howe. PS the final is significantly based on the reading throughout sem.

The best professor so far from my 2 yrs in college. Howe is funny, has a sense of humor, really honest, and has good morals (hard to find these days). Grades essays pretty hard, but i actually learned a lot from what she graded and marked. Howe does not keep up with her syllabus and at times forgot to give quizzes. Final was EASY!!!

One of the best professors there are in ARC. Very clear as to what you need to pass, gives you a good amount of chances in her class, and everything we do in there is entertaining, and she sometimes talks before thinking, which leads to a lot of hilarity in her class (everyday was hilarious,especially the "facts and inferece" part).She grades hard.

Professor Howe is the best!She is funny, smart, understanding, helpful and even makes class fun. She's a crack up and I recommend her to anyone. Don't get me wrong though; it's no easy A.You have to do your work and read even when there's no quiz,she'll sneak one in on ya!Also,don't try to take advantage of her because she's nice, thats just rude!

What can I say? She is seriously one of the best teachers I've ever had. She makes the class funny (we were in stitches there a couple times) and actually made me interested in poetry and classic lit-a feat I thought impossible. She treats us like adults and is very considerate. Take her, treat her well, and enjoy this class :-)

Susan was better than i expected, her class was actually fun and she knows how to teach. Unlike my prevous engwr prof, she actually knows what she is talking about and more than willing to share here knowledge if ur falling behind. And she is also willing to work something out if ur late on an assignment, over all she is a good teacher!!!

She is the most awesome teacher.I actually got pretty decent grades on my papers but she definitely helped me improve my writing a lot.Shes pretty kooky which just made the class more fun, plus she gives you a whole arm and a legs chance at getting a good grade and the final is easy but not as easy as the one you take to get out of it.

she is GREAT! even if i wasn't an english major, i would thoroughly enjoy the class. very FRIENDLY, UNDERSTANDING, DOWN TO EARTH, really there FOR THE STUDENT, and is clear in her expectations. really consider taking the class if the opportunity comes up. i recommend taking her for any course, ENGLT321, ENGLT360, ENGLT301...etc. her class structure

it was a fun class. she is very entertaining and helpful when it comes to correcting your paper. lots of chances for e.c. 1st english class i got an "A" in. the final was just a game of jeopardy. win and don't take a final. gotta love that. ;)

Even if you're not interested in English, she will make you love going to and participating in her class!! She is by far the greatest teacher I have ever had!! She is so helpful, so nice, and is super hilarious :) You will not regret taking ANY of her classes, she is absolutely wonderful!!!

I've taken a few classes with Ms. Howe, and only a few teachers can compare to her. She is very passionate about English, and really does want her students to do well. If you don't do the work, you won't pass. Not easy, but also not incredibly difficult either.

Excellent teacher, she is such a nice person and very fair. There are 4 essay's in the class and the final is a game based on the material covered in class, if you do not win you have to write an essay.

Lots of reading, but it's a fun class. 5 books, 2 films, and extra readings on female authors. Group discussion with 1 solo presentation near end of semester. Definitely an easy A.

If you want to learn something, and enjoy a class, take this teacher. If you see her name for Eng 360 (Women's Literature) then TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY! You will speak in her class, you will participate. The amazing thing is, she doesn't force it. You just find yourself talking openly to her, and the class happens to also be there with you.

She is super nice and very approachable. She wants you to learn and pass her class. She is also funny and makes us laugh.

Mrs. Howe teaches well. You got to do things that she or the syllabus ask you to do or grade will go down. Explains well but if she is a little too sleep-deprived (because she often stays up late grading our essays), she might be a little crazy. Good teacher overall.

I took ENGWR 50 with Professor Susan. She's a great teacher. She will teach you the basic rules of writing and grammar that will benefit you through out your life. You can easily get an A if you do your homework on time, and revise your essay with her. Her lectures are interesting; you won't be bore.

She is an exceptional teacher that treated everyone with respect. Her class load is manageable but for students who want to be lazy, you will find this class to be hard. She gives writing and reading assignments that help you construct each essay, so the papers (total of three) are not overwhelming. She is there for you and will help you.

The majority of the class is reading the book, writing and talking about it in class, and finding out that you like a lot more literature than you imagined. She is one of my favorite teachers!

You read the books and articles and then you watch the movies, comparing them on how close or loose they are as adaptions. It's absolutely my favorite class.

Professor Howe is definitely a respected teacher! She's funny and cares about her student's learning experience. You will be doing some reading in this class. This class focuses more on essay formatting and topics may not be interesting, but it's a good class to take if your serious about understanding basics essay writing. 3 essays 3-4 page long.

I believe my future in college will be positively affected by Susan Howe. She is very clear in her grading, but most importantly takes the time to give a ton of critical feedback. In a writing class, this lets you know how you can improve your writing. There is no doubt I am better prepared for future classes due to her help.

Professor Howe is an amazing professor! She reviews your rough drafts and gives great feedback. She's also very helpful during her office hours if you need any help or further clarification. Prof. gives one free pass if you need a one week extension on an essay and she offers extra credit as well! Overall, it's an easy class if you put in the work!

Great teacher! She gives out a good amount of homework but they're not that bad, she can also be really flexible with homework at times. As long as you do the homework, you'll pass the class. Super caring and really shows that she loves teaching. I would totally recommend her!

She is a great teacher, honestly. She is pretty chill and somewhat smart for a liberal. She is a realist and gives good analysis for the Huck book (required). You don't have to buy the same edition of Huck. Not an easy grader. 4 long essays with 8 super easy quizzes. I would've taken a more challenging course. She definitely supports the agenda!

DO THE READING!! That's really all you gotta do in order to have the knowledge to easily pass. 4 essays, online quizzes on the reading and that's it. Really the reading is your only hwk. She's super helpful with the essays and offers extra credit. One of my favorite English professors, I wish I would've had the time to do all the reading.

Prof Howe doesn't ask for much. She's clear on what she's looking for in her essays. An outline/rough draft is due a week before the final essay and she gives great feedback. Just don't fall behind on the readings and the quizzes should be easy. There were some discussions that took a little time but again if you did the readings they were easy.

Professor Howe's online class is great, but, she is unorganized. She will never tell you when discussions are posted and due, so you have to be on top of all the due dates in this course. She is an easy grader and gives 100's on all the discussions as long as you meet her requirements. 4 essays in total, and a final exam. A plethora of quizzes.

She is Cool, whether you pass or fail is up to you. she doesn't make us buy a 200$ textbook either, gives free online resources. Great sense of humor, and down to earth which makes the lectures more bearable

I took professor Howe for ENGWR303 summer online. She's great! Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. If you do not want to write, this class is not for you. However, if you don't mind writing a little more than average, you will easily pass the class. She is an easy grader.

Professor Howe is a very nice lady. She cares about her students success a lot and it is hard to fail. She has weekly discussions board and also around 3-4 essays on literature you will read in the class. Easy pass I recommend.

SUPER easy class, it seriously doesn't get better than this. Professor is super kind and works her hardest to make you pass. 1 discussion and quiz/week (which you can spend a few hours doing), and then 3 essays. she lets you do an optional essay and then the real thing, so you'll get an A guaranteed. She's the ABSOLUTE BEST English prof I've ever had. Such a gem!!! I hate writing essays to the core and her class was pure heaven. I'm not even exaggerating. This Sci-Fi fiction course was amazing, the books were fun to read, and the book report was my favorite to do. Essays were easy and she didn't grade to harshly. I recommend taking it.
