Very good professor,very nice attitude unlike other SAC Math professors.
Very hyper wants to get as much Teaching done as time permits per class but reasonable on homework amounts.Makes her day around her students. Always a happy face.
I am an engineering major and Calculus I was the third class I had with Ms. Paddock. She is an awesome teacher. She is very clear both in her teaching and in her assignments. Her tests are difficult but she makes sure that you have learned the material.
This is the only Math instructor worth taking @ SAc!!!! She's very reasonable, patient, always cheerful!!
Mrs. Paddock is a wonderful instructor. Always very clear in her teaching. She always makes herself avaiable to help her students in her spare time. Even if your not her student anymore, she makes time to help you. I reccommend her for everthing.

Mrs. Paddock always had too much coffee before class. she says her homework is easy, but she teaches you the easy problems and then gives you a bunch of homework that you will need help on. she goes over a few questions in class, but if you dont understand after a few she will tell you to go to the
Everything that's been said about her personality is right but her test are hard, plain and simple. The main problem is that her test are too short meaning, if you mess up on the smallest mistake it'll be TONS of points off. If you're a person that doesn't care for detail, I wouldn't recommend her.
definitely not for everyone. smart lady though. After 20 minutes of working a problem on the board a mistake is found and it's shrugged off as "oh well you know how to do it, HEH"...oy. still bothers me! I'd recommend Ms. Paddock for people EXTREMELY familiar with every minor detail of mathematics.G
Mainly got on the board and wrote the entire problem expecting students to understand what she meant. Counted off for skipping steps on tests and even though she did not show them in some of her board work. Tests were fairly long and took more than the entire time to complete a test. Big into hw.
Her homework assignments are ridiculous!! She grades the homework and is extremely meticulous about details. On the tests she deducts large amounts for small errors.
if enthusiam helps you to learn easier or quicker, then Paddock is the perfect teacher. she is very personal and very clear with the material. Her clarity was great
She's a great teacher I would recommend her to anyone! She does give hmwk but as long as you really try on the hmwk and actually complete it you'll do fine, because the hmwk is actually the to any math class anyways. I don't know what every else is saying but she didn't take off that many pts
she was a fun teacher but she gave a lot of homework and didn't explain some of the problems. She would't help me when I had a question concerning math, she would tell me to see here after class. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
I love math, im good at math, i feel as though after taking her course..i know less in math. Absolute worst teacher ive ever had. Constantly makes mistakes. spends 20min per problem. assigns large amounts of hmwk, then puts problems she doesnt go over on the tests. Refuses to go over problems that have videos in the labs.this teach is an F-
Extemely hyper. Lots of HW. Laughed at student asking questions. When asked to work out a prob was told to go to math lab. Unfair in grading - took off alot for minor errors. Did not teach what was covered on test. Highly do not recommend.
She might seem not too friendly at the begining but as you get to know her more, you will discover that she's extremely nice and helpful. DO YOUR HOMEWORKS(she is very serious about grading them) and study your homeworks for the; you will do fine! I recieved an A in her class.
Totally crazy lady, run away as fast as you. Very confuse lectures, do a bunch of mistakes in her work and if you point them out she dimised her errors like no big deal (however for us students it is a big deal)but do not make yourself a little mistake, b/c bunch of points come off. Who ever wrote that last comment obviously needs to retake english. She is a decent prof. As with any college level class, attend the class, take notes and do the homework. You should get an A or B if you are a decent student.
Yes she assigns lots of homework, yes she is a bit eccentric, but overall she is an EXCELLENT teacher. I walked away feeling very confident about the material. She always was respectful and the only time she ever shuned away a question is when it was something from an earlier class. Guess what? That's not her responsibility. Would take again.
Wonderful professor. Takes as much time as necessary to explain concepts. Will take extra time with individuals.
Ms. Paddock is a very hyper teacher. She knows what she's talking but kind of doesn't know how to explain in clearly to all students. I took this class in the summer and it was just too fast for me, and that's why I'm taking it again.:(

SAC students need to realize this isn't High School anymore, so don't expect profs to be your babysitters. If you think SHE is tough, wait till you transfer to a 4 yr college. Oh wait, most of you neg commenters probably never will, so nevermind. She is tough, because it's a college level class; expect to perform at that level & you will be ok.

True, this is not high school but she is extremely hard, tests and homeworks grading is horrible, she takes points for everything. She is extremely smart, but she is not very good explaining. I only recomend her if you are a genius, and your brain works different than the rest of us.
She can't explain anything clear at all. She goes too fast. She won't answer questions she doesn't think qualifies as a college algebra question. She will tell you to go to the math lab. Then has the nerve to say if you have a question. And if you piss her off she will hold a grudge and make things even more tougher, that is immature.
Ms. Paddock is totally crazy, hyper teacher. She only knows what in the worl's she's talking about she doesn't know how to explain clearly to nobody. I took this class and it was a nightmare, what she is looking at in the ceiling anyway. Run away from her, there are a lot of better teachers than her at sac.

What ever you do don't take her class. She can't explain anything clear and keeps looking at the ceiling. Her explanation of the work is like looking at a tornado, she is all over the place, very sloppy work. Then she grades papers incorrectly. So watch out for that too, or you may get an F when you should have an A.
"Oh wait, most of you neg commenters probably never will, so nevermind." Here's something you probably don't know. Most people that go to sac have something called "J-O-B-S" say that with me J O B. This means we may not have to sit around and study with our triple thick bullet proof glasses all day. Shes a good teacher but half the class dropped.
This professor is very helpful. I took her for almost all my math classes. You people enjoy talking crap about other people and never once think about anyone else. Ms. Paddock is a very intellegent person, and helps all her students in every way she she can. Her only downfall is her having faith in all you idiots.
This prof. is very hard. I had to attend tutoring alot. She was very hyper and she would not slow down abit. I did get a "B" in the class, but I do have to admit that it's becuase of the tutoring that I had.

Ms.Paddock was decent,but her class is TOUGH. She gives HUGE amounts of homework, and only grades maybe 6 out of some 40 problems or so. She wants A LOT of detail in your work, and sometimes counts one problem as 40 or 50 points. So if you mess up on one, you're toast. If you are a math major and have LOTS of time,go for it. Otherwise,don't take.
Is true she is very smart, but I’m not an idiot, she tried to help, but she is not all that, her grading and testing are very tough and she thinks everybody is going to be an engineer, her class mess up my gpa. Avoid her if you can.

expects you to do math her way or no way...on tests, will have a problem that maybe worth 20pts and you are expected to know her steps or deduction of points occur even when your answer is right...someone needs to tell her that everyone solve math problems in a different way...DO NOT TAKE HER!
She was not the best prof. I had, and she was very challenging. But if you do your part, you will do ok. When it comes to exam corrections, she is very generous. Her schedule is not great. But she is the MOST enthusiastic math teacher ever, she will not bore you. and sometimes she is quite funny.
The way she lectures is awful. She talks too long about basic stuff as if we're a remedial class and then skips over the difficult stuff cause time has run out. WAY too much hw, tests had questions we had never discussed. The only reason I did well was cause the textbook was excellent. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know from h.s.
Alot of useless note taking. She drags on and on. Pretty boring. There is alot of homework but it's just practice. It helps it's just alot. The practice tests w/ answers that she posts on PALS is so0o helpful! I found myself using that alot! The practice test are almost identical to the test! So study those. She's an ok teacher.
Picky is an understatement. You can get every single answer correct but still not make full marks because of the way you wrote your square root sign. Weird teaching style, not easy unless you know math. I made an A.
ms. p is a cool teacher, but be prepared for a lot of note-taking- TAKE THE NOTES! she wants to see answers the way she taught you. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. was alot over the summer, but it pays off, believe me.
Mrs.P is a very good teacher the only thing is that DONT MISS because you will get lost quick! take notes! she doesn't go fast or anything she writes everything on the board color coordinated and everything she is so energetic. i might fail (my fault missed class) but she drops like 5 hwm out of like 10 and you get 4 test and drops 1 no midterm.

SHE IS ALWAYS WIRED ON SOMETHING! talks soo fast and waayyy too GIDDY! i had to drop after a few weeks! i couldnt stand her! there are a few other professors that are alot better!
She was an okay teacher. The tests were short about 5 questions but you have to solve the problem her way exactly! She deducts points for minor mistakes. Pay attentions to how she solves the problem, take tons of notes. She doesn't take attendance and collects barely any homework but its good for practice. Final is easy. Drops lowest grade on work.
She is ok. She expects you not to forget anything even if it is a - or +. She is very picky, and kinda hard to understand. But just do the homework and get all the help you can get and you should be fine. Math is hard no matter what to me. but if you think you can do the homework and get all the help you can get you should be ok.

she is a very enthusiastic professor, always awake and walking around. there's no time for slacking in her class. she grades your homework and you take four test. PEICE OF CAKE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!
Be warned that Paddock is not an easy instructor. Yes she gives extra credit but what she does not tell you is that you have twice as many chances to lose points on an exam and the extra credit does not make up for it. She expects a lot. DO NOT TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR. Though I earned and "A", it was very hard to earn.

Dropped this instructor before midterm, she assigns work home work class work and online practice work. I took the course in class and felt like I was taking a online course instead. She asks for 2 hours a night for home work, I was doing up to 6 hours of work to keep up with her class. Don't recommended her unless you have time for nothing but mat
Very detailed notes. You won't think you'll have to write down the definition of a "factor" but you'll need the exact textbook def for test! 4 tests do reviews and go to her website cuz she works out the problems step by step if you're having trouble. Do the webassign! Doesn't take attendance. Sometimes the class gets let out about 5 minutes late.
VERY DETAILED instructor. It's all about her notes. If you're having trouble understanding, she will work with you.
Prof. Paddock knows her stuff.However, I felt as though I was in a race car going 120mph. Sometimes she will not answer your questions during class. Choose your math professor WISELY!.If you are good at math, you will do fine. If not, PLEASE choose a prof. who moves through content a bit slower.She will help,but focuses on other things at same time
Nice when she wants to be. But if you have a question about what she has already covered, she asks to see her after class. I don't have time to wait so I didn't like that. She covers the material well, but goes into too much detail which to me made it confusing. Used webassign A LOT!! Its a lot of work but if you get it done its really easy
For a remedial class (0301,0302,0303) she is probably a wonderful teacher. If you take her for a higher level, she will treat you like a remedial class and you will get bored out of your mind. She stares at the ceiling when she is lecturing, and she doesn't clarify or over clarifies. Don't take her unless you want to waste your money or need it.
She is a very good teacher and is very helpful and explains things well. Down side is she assigns alot of hw and quizes but it helps alot with your grade

Took her for A flex class and really enjoyed her class. Thoroughly explained each problem and helped whenever she had time to. Gives a loooooot of extra credit! But, with how fast she can go (in the flex at least), I wouldn't recommended her to anyone who feels uncomfortable with math. Gonna try to take her for my next maths for sure!
I love Ms. Paddock. I was never any sort of good at math, and for the first time ever, I'm getting it. Her examples are actually USEFUL, and WebAssign is a great supplement. What ever I didn't get the first time, WebAssign helped me get. She's also very helpful and nice!
Great teacher if YOU want to learn.She's not hard the work is!She will assign alot of book work.Don't miss class you'll get behind.Very helpful even tutored me herself.She might look wired but it's her passion for MATH.Over all a great professor.Will take her for other math courses.

Awesome prof! Really enjoyed her class; never had a dull moment. She tries to make the the work as simple and easy as possible. Will go over several examples so you an fully understand the work. Also very helpful in and out of class!

Pretty good teacher, took this class during a flex and i don't recommend anyone to do that. We moved way to fast to learn. But she is always there to help you.
this class was hard for me but the teacher was very helful. gives alot extra credit and just be willing to take time out to study math lab is probably a must and homework was back to back but I did also take this class as flex 2 class last spring so maybe thats why it was also very fast pase. Not all students can keep up with you. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to erase the board and make sure your students understand the section before moving on.
I thought Ms. Paddock would go to fast in the classroom. I understand that you think we should be pretty familiar with the material but she acts like she doesn't care weather her students understand the material or not. I mean when everyone in the class fails the first test, and scores no higher then a 50, somethings not right.
I took her twice.
Her explanations are CRYSTAL CLEAR and she does NOT go too fast in the classroom (actually a little slow for my tastes). Just because you don't individually understand what she teaches just means you need HELP.This class was EASY. She drops several of your worst grades: 4 homeworks, 2 quizzes and 1 test grade. PLUS final is identical to prev tests
I love this teacher!!! she is super clear on her notes. she is very organized. always makes sure you understand. gives you plenty of chances to bring you grade up. at the end of the semester she dropped my lowest exam and replaced it with my final exam grade. i loved her!!! take her!!
EASY EASY EASY ! ! Show up for class, takes notes, ask questions, use the math tutoring labs, if necessary. Easy A, if you do the work. Don't need the book at all, esp. when you use MyMathLab<--- Just using MyMathLab and the note from her lectures gave me an easy A. FINAL is SO EASY, just about identical to 4 tests. Awesome teacher, CARES MUCH!!
She is a good teacher and she will get you ready for the harder math class to come. Is not an easy class but if you stick with her you will understand why the math you are doing works and what you can use it for..
Very caring and super helpful in and out of class! Take notes in class and ask lots of questions to understand better (she really likes when students do that) easy A. She really doesn't follow the book. I didn't touch my book all semester! she's straightforward on what you really need to learn. I definitely recommend to take her classes!
Do NOT need the book ONLY MyMathLab! Final exam is SUPER identical to all 4 test you have throughout the semester. Take all the notes you can they will be super helpful and attend the tutoring sessions she offers.
Ms. Paddock is a great teacher who truly cares about her students success rate. She goes step by step the make sure you understand what she is teaching, don't get me wrong you do have to have some insight on math, but she'll help if you don't... I passed her class with an A, and if I had to take another math class I would choose her again.
You don't need a book if you take her College Algebra class. She doesn't mind answering questions and allows you to do test corrections. She was a very nice and respectful of all her students. If you're not good at math I would highly recommend her.

I loved her style of teaching that after Ace-ing 0320 I took College Alg in Maymester. I would def take her for any other math. Only bad thing to say is that she may sometimes seem rude if you dont get the problem but shes ALWAYS willing to help outside of class. Def recommend her.
MAYMESTER class, wow a maymester math class, however its possible to pull an A. She allowed test corrections, we had 4 tests (final included). Quiz every other day, BUT that is her playing fair as she won't quiz on something she hasn't gone over and clarified with the class drops alot of low quizzes and final replaces lowest test 60% test 25% final
Ms Paddock is the sweetest lady ever. She is always there for her students and is willing to help the students as much as she can. She gives assignments online, but the tests are in person. Would take her again.
Professor paddock uses mymathlab for assignment and quiz ,but exams are pencil and paper. The exam count for the bulk of the grade ! Don't need the book !

This teacher really likes her job and it shows. She is happy and patient. This professor goes over a subject a few times just so you can grasp the concept. She gives extra credit and drops a test. She is one of the best math teachers that I've had!
Ms. Paddok is a great professor. She teaches straight to the point, doesnt go into details. She expects you to have general knowledge of algebra. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! The book is, essentially, replaced with MyMathLab which includes the EBook. MyMathLab is 100 dollars. Only buy the book if you like physical copies. REMEMBER: She required MyMathLab.
I would not recommend her IF you haven't been in a math class for a while she does expect you to know majority of the material. If you're coming straight from h.s then yes go ahead! She is more than willing to work with you one on one and she stays to do tutoring at least 4 days a week! If you put the effort in she will help you! Very enthusiastic
I DON'T recommend to her anyone at all. If you have the right answers on your test and show your work like she tells you, she will still take points off if your work doesn't look the way she wants it. She's basically taking points off your test because you don't think like her. Save your money and time and find another teacher. VERY DISPLEASED.
Lots of extra credit work to boost test grades. Every test also has a bonus for even more extra credit. Every set of test corrections you do will add 1 point to your average grade. The final exam may replace your lowest test grade. Doing the course survey will add 5 points to your final exam. A few quiz grades are dropped. LOTS of office hours.

She was very hard but yet easy if you showed up every class. Make sure to do the homework as you can because next time you see her you can ask question about it to correct it. Every homework is done on webassign which also includes the book !
Energetic teacher. There is an abundance of extra credit. She has plenty of tutoring hours. She goes through example problems thoroughly. The math is easy to follow. When you show work on tests, do show your work as clearly and precise as possible.
Gives extra credit, tell the class it not counted for anything. The tests are the main grade in the class. HAS TO SHOW ALL STEPS, in order to gain credit on the test. Test is over all.
Professors Paddock's class was great, she gives good lectures, helps you if you need help, gives good feedback on every assignment and lots of extra credit. Tests are hard but fair, nothing on any of her tests that she didn't cover in class, if you do the homework you'll be good to go.
She is extremely nice and very understanding. Her goal is seriously to help every single student understand the material presented. I highly suggest this class if you have a hard time with math. She gives plenty of examples and makes sure you understand before moving on. She offers a lot of office hurts and even comes up on the weekend.
Unless you're unemployed and taking only two classes, then go ahead and take her. lots and lots of mymathlab homework including trig. you start your grade with an F which already frustrates you. Very tough grader makes the class super complicated.
Her quizzes are hard and online, as well as the homework. She gives lots of homework, LOTS OF HOMEWORK that are only worth 5% of the grade. She talks about different things at a time and she doesn't give you break to process what she just said. Tutoring can be helpful to pass this class.
