This course is relatively easy, but you do have to study and come to class to get an A. The tests are not directly from the notes. Dr. Perez is new to UNF but is very knowledgeable in her dept. She's very understanding and makes the class pretty interesting.
She is a really good professor, I enjoyed her class a lot :)
Dr.Perez is a great professor and very willing to helping you out. I would take her again.
I LOVE THIS TEACHER!! She is very clear and her notes are great! Pay attention and learn to relax a little bit!
Seemed very scared, anxious at first, then relaxed. Good content and explanations. Seems like a nice person.
Prof Perez is helpful and very friendly. She is new to UNF and seemed nervous in the beginning. If you take her and have questions about the assignments make an appoinment to see her for help. Only 2 assignments, 2 midterms and 1 final. I got a B in the class but I really had to study for tests.
very nice lady!...keeps lectures interesting with examples...would definitely take her agian
She is very nice and helpful. However, I did not find the class very engaging. She is very straight forward about what she expects which is good.
Dr.Perez is great. She is one of those teachers that you want to take over and over again. She is very knowledgeable! She gives awesome notes. You MUST go to class to do well on the tests!
I like the teacher herself. Lectures are somewhat boring, but overall you learn a lot. Must go to class in order to do good on tests. Tests are multiple choice.
Very clear, helpful, and interesting. Attendance not necessary but very helpful & she made the class one that I looked forward to. Great examples & makes sure you understand. Funny, too. I plan to take her again. Pay attn & study and you'll do fine. Extra credit & tests are curved.
She's okay. She is very nice, her tests are kinda hard though. Her class is boring, but tolerable.
The whole class is based on tests, and they were hard. Must read the book. The grading seemed a little unfair, not an understanding and helpful professor.
It's not that this class is hard.. it's that her teaching skills are extremely annoying. Class is all based on exams-- and you could get just as much from the class by reading the book only.
She is really nice and helpful. Class can be boring. Must study notes in order to pass, otherwise you will be lost. Class is bearable.
A fair, kind "peppy" prof who knows her stuff. I like how she didn't dumb the class down, keepign it challenging. Maybe a bit more fun stuff could be worked in - like discussions or activities.

The exams are very difficult. They make up all of your grade. Concepts are not well explained.
easy. come to class, take notes from PP, and you will get an A. straight to the point. little projects but nothing that will take to much time
I loved this class and professor. She explained things very well and is a very approachable and helpful person. Exams were not tough at all if you went to class and took notes. She's awesome and I'd love to take another class with her.
shes a nice teacher n anything thats in her notes is on the tests...which are multiple choice...but she grades on a curve which helps out a lot. its pretty much knowing the book but going to class does help a lot.
She lectures very rapidly, and flies through material. Your grade is based on tests, and an optional final exam, if you take all of the other tests. She is not helpful, and doesn't compromise one bit.
The tests are hard, but she's kinda hot...and that makes up for it
I think she is quite attractive...Kinda want to ask her out on a date...but I always get nervous..oh yeah, her class isn't too bad
Took her for 2 different classes. She doesn't teach as well in a lecture environment as she does with a smaller class. You need to study for her tests, and it really helps if you read the chapters in the book. If you study, her tests are fair. If not, don't expect to get an "A." And by the way, she is pretty cute!
The class was slightly more challenging then I thought it would be. The info was more interesting then any othere class i was taking so i enjoyed learning but evry single class was the same old thing. You knew just what to expect...notes on PP.yay! 2 papers were thrown in the mix and the exams were not straight from notes...in depth studying needed
class was interesting in the lecture, but her tests were not always what she went over, or what was read in the book.. shes also tricky on her learning, but she is nice and is willing to help
Class is kind of boring if it wasnt for her good looks u would probaly fall asleep. There are also two papers but they are pretty easy
Class is pretty easy. Lectures are boring. She is really nice though. You should definately study for the tests. Study the notes she gives and what corresponds with them in the book and you will be fine. Offers extra credit as well. Good class to take.
yeah the class is easy but she could teach the subject A LOT better with a lot more interest. i never thought psychology could be so boring!
Lecture was interesting, learn a lot, but need to study for exams. Exams are mostly critical thinking, examples related to lecture notes. Attendance is important, get point for that. her notes are very clear but still need to read the book.
Her lectures suck. No point of going to class. Everything is online, just download it and read your book. BOOK IS A MUST READ! If you don't read, you don't pass. Her notes outline everything, but they don't go into detail. Don't take this class unless you need psychology. Its a waste of time and its a pretty hard class. Most chapters are 50+ pages.
very interesting. I would recommend her class even if you don't need it. definitely need to got to class and get outlines online, they help a lot. I never read the book and passed with a B.
I had her last fall. She explains things well. To get a good grade go to lecture and take the practice quizes online, she gets several questions from there. She is so nice and always willing to help and listen. I am taking her again this semester.
This was my first class as a freshman and I wish that she taught upper levels because she is so nice, friendly, relaxed, and interesting. The course material is not difficult, most is common sense. If you dont go to class then you need the book but her lectures are very informative (I haven't bought the book) and you just need the notes online!
2 papers in each class, but she's BEYOND helpful. Also a very generous grader. Very friendly, informative [endless well of research & statistics], interesting, challenging, gets good discussions going. Solid classes; I'd take her again. 4 exams, optional final [if you take all 4 exams]. Study guide provided for the cumulative final. TAKE HER.
Very easy sleep in class and hardly studied still made an A
I took Dr. Perez for both child psychology and lifespan development. I would recommend taking her for any class that she offers. She is very helpful, explains the assignment until you understand. Her tests are straightforward, as long you as pay attention to the lecture and read the chapers no reason why you can't make an A in her class.
Ms. Perez is a very nice teacher and explains the material well. Her exams can be a little challenging, but aren't bad if you put forth effort to study. She is fair, but you definitely earn the grade you get. I'm going to take her for Adv. Child Development. I recommend her.
I really loved this class! I learned so much about life and many things that I can use in the future. Dr. Perez is a great professor who is very helpful. I also took Child Psychology with Dr. Perez. Just make sure you read the chapters before class, that really helps. I highly recommend taking a class with her.
she is the nicest woman & shes funny. i really enjoyed her class- she invites class discussion. she goes over all the material u need for ur tests, but reading helped me. there are 3 tests, 2 easy assignments & a cumulative final that isnt mandatory if youve taken the 3 other tests. she takes random attendance with a sign in sheet. id recommend her
Aside from her occasional slip into her day-care voice, her class is pretty engaging. Extra credit is a bit of a pain but if you stay on top of the notes, it's not a problem. Bought the 100$ book and never cracked it once.
Such a nice lady! Easy grader on papers, she will help you get going on them. Her test are fine as long as you go to class and look over the notes. Glancing at the book helps too but you don't have to memorize it. Watched some interesting movies, she makes the class interesting. I liked her class a lot.
First of all she is hot and it is almost distracting. She is a fantastic teacher even when though the subject matter is not the most fascinating. You will learn in this class. Not an easy A, you need to go to class to take notes and then concentrate your reading on what she covers in class. With her there is no ambiguity about what is testable.
She is nice and helpful but her exams could be a bit tricky. You need to study blackboard notes, add on to them in class and go over what is covered in notes from book to get good grades and tests. Not hard as long as you study pretty well. Also there are two papers. An article critique, easy, but also a 6 to 7 page paper that is kind of a pain.
She was an amazing teacher. As long as you look over the notes the tests aren't that bad. There were 3 exams and the final is optional, and 2 written assignments. I highly recommend her!!
To do well you MUST read. One chapter could equal up to 50 pages. All tests are almost exact sentences taken from the book. I would recommend reading the chapters ahead before attending class. Also, 2 articles, 3 exams, 1 optional final and no extra credit. If you wish an A, you really have to work for it. Overall, she is really sweet and helpful.
She was a lot harder than the other recs would let you believe, but she gives outlines for each chapter, 2 papers, 4 exams, lowest one is dropped, first three are over 6 chapters each, last one is over 19 chapters. Not a class to take over the summer, esp. if you are a psych major. too mch info, not enogh time to learn it!
Susan is a sweetheart. I took her during the summer and I loved the class. She posts all of her outlines on Blackboard, practice questions for the three exams, and a detailed study guide for the optional cumulative final. During the summer she didn't take attendence. I'd definitely take her again for a class. She is very helpful and super nice.
As long as you complete all of the out-of-class assignments and study for the tests, you will make a good grade in this class. Dr. Perez is awesome, she posts all of her outlines online, and her tests were still passable even if you missed a few days of lecture. She is very nice and always willing to answer questions and help.
Three exams with an optional 19 chapt. cumulative at the end. Exams are hard! Practice questions DO NOT help on the tests. read, read and then read to do well. Also two papers which help your grade if you don't do well on the tests. material seems easy but tests are tricky.
At first, Dr. Perez seemed a little bit intimidating as far as the syllabus...but after a while, I began to get the hang of things... it's A TON of work...but if you work hard, ask questions, and show up, you can make a decent grade. She's very helpful and the discussion circle helped me a bit...a Co-Lead, Presentation, and 4 Tests are your grade.
She is an excellent professor! Made the material really interesting and kept the class simple. Just a few papers and tests, no overall busy work. I really enjoyed her class
As long as you complete the assignments following the rubrics and review the outlines and book before tests, you will pass this class. Dr. Perez is a very nice teacher who lectures with powerpoint and provides you with an outline to fill in as she lectures. In my opinion, this was a very easy class.
I took her online class. Her expectations are very clear. She provides lectures, outlines, and study materials. She is fair and gives you all of the tools needed to do well in the class.
Does not care about her students...Her tests are impossible to pass and she grades papers worse than a high level English class...Her lectures are borinngg, long, and unless u memorize the book and lecture u r gonna fail..I do not recommend her to anyone..HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
Tests are TRiCKY! Be prepared, she says they lie between the lectures and what's in the text book but you still can never figure it out. Chapter readings are vital, she's a stickler when it comes to grading papers and discussions so give it your best.
Whoever wrote the comment on 7/25 obviously is not a dedicated student. Dr.Perez is an amazing professor. Her tests are very tricky but if you pay attention in lecture and read the book you will do well. There are a few writing assignments but they are not hard at all, just make sure you do it the way she tells you to. This is not an easy class.
Overall, she is an okay professor. Sometimes lacks communication skills via internet. I took her online over the summer--16 weeks worth of material squeezed into 6 makes it hard, but not impossible. I wouldn't recommend her unless you are a complete genius and can put up with disorganization.
Do not recommend her. I graduated with honors and enjoyed most all my classes at UNF except Dr. Perez's. Lacks the connection between professor and student. Lectures, lectures, and lectures without linking material to prior knowledge or to the current knowledge of the students in order to enhance understanding. Would like to see her come off he
Not recommended at all!!! Not a caring professor at all. If you want to get a good prof for this class look somewhere else!! She even had to take some of the questions off to prevent several of the students from failing!
I took this class for an elective. Very time consuming! Quizzes were extremely difficult even though questions came from book! Questions was like the 1 sentence u read n didn't pay attention to. I took this class online 4 summer. By far the hardest online class I've ever taken and I'm a senior. Knows her stuff though. If psych ur major take her!
Dr. Perez's class is tough, but it is possible to do well. Once I took a few tests, I got her pattern down sort of...I'd be reading the book and see an odd bit of info that looked interesting and sure enough it would appear on the test. Do like she says and live by her syllabus...she tells you exactly what to focus on in the book to prep for tests
I took her online course, and if you are hoping for something easy it isn't.Her syllabus is her guideline and if you are confused and ask her a question she ignores your question, and says to only look at the syllabus. She didn't help me with any of my questions.Typically I do well on writing assignments, but for not hers. Good luck, she if difficult.
Notes on top of notes on top of notes! Yet even after all that note taking her class average for tests is like 70%. Wouldn't recommend her if you have a GPA you care about.
Took online class. VERY HARD! Time consuming; what online class isn't. Quizzes are easy if you listen to lectures. Paper & discussions are graded hard & take a lot of time to do for good grade. Doesn't seem to care much for students. Her syllabus due dates and Blackboard due dates contradict each other; and doesn't care if it messed you up.
There is a lot of information, but she tells you what to focus on in the book and provides an outline for each chapter in Word. I used her outline and expanded it when I listened to lectures. I found her helpful when I asked questions, but she spells it all out in the syllabus. Learn it and follow it.
Seriously awesome teacher. When I first read the syllabus, I was very apprehensive of the course. As long as you meet the criteria in the syllabus -- it's an easy class. Textbook is a MUST as most of her online questions come directly from it. Gives ample time on quizzes and the Individual Project is well defined. Do the work & you'll get an A.
NEVER AGAIN. The online course was harder than any class I've ever taken at UNF. My only D on my transcripts otherwise I have only A's and B's.
Very easy if you keep up with the work and read the book.
I'm not sure how her non distance classes are like, but her online classes are horrendous. It isn't necessarily hard but it is SO MUCH work, if you want to take Developmental Psych with this professor don't take it online. Other than the work load she was delightful.
Be warned you will spend a large amount of time reading to prepare for this class. The professor is sweet hearted but her assignments are very ambiguous & she will defend them with out regard to helping you understand how to successfully complete them. The class coursework is interesting and passing the class is achievable. She offers extra credit
Literally so much work. I did this online class to try and do a grade replacement... Big mistake. She makes you cite EVERYTHING. Even your responses to students on the discussion board. If you don't know APA you're screwed. She makes it more difficult than it has to be. I don't mind working hard and earning my grade but this class is ridiculous.
Gives a ton of busy work every week and is extremely specific about how assignments are done. Does not warn you when the work load is going up and expects a lot of your time spent in this elective class. I have a low A in the class but I've killed myself for it.
Offered about 16 points extra credit. no exams just 6 quizzes. one huge project, connect portion for each chapter with an exercise for each chapter as well. one DQ a week gives 13 only have to do 10. the worst part about the class are the DQ's you have to have 3 sources for original post and one additional source per each classmate response.
Needing to speak or schedule time during office hours to clarify information was shrugged off and I was treated like I was a bother. In the end, if you do not understand the information from her lecture, reading, or researching the internet good luck. It was clear it was a bother to her when her students needed to visit during office hours.
DO NOT take this teacher. No matter how well written a paper is you will not make an A. Hardest grader and completely unclear during lectures and an extreme amount of pointless papers and a homework assignment every class.
hardest grader ever, i do not recommend taking her class if you arent wanting a lot of work. has very high expectations even for an online class. small amount of extra credit but doesnt increase grade significantly
Absolutely loved her class! Her lectures were engaging and fun as she explained each new topic. She gives clear examples for everything and makes her powerpoints accessible for easy note-taking. As long as you show up and pay attention you will pass for sure. Bonus - she is an amazing teacher in general and has the BEST personality!
She is a pretty chill teacher that I will not mind taking again. She gives you extra credit assignments that practically make up a quiz. I did not learn much from the powerpoint slides so I studied from the book and was really helpful. The class was pretty easy tho.
Online class; she is not understanding if there is even ONE technical glitch on students end, but technical glitches on her end are completely fine by her.
Weekly quizzes. If you took notes and showed up to class you did fine. Randomly took attendance with sign in sheet. Final exam optional, and could replace bad quiz score. Only a few tests. No homework. Taught basically off power point, had to semi teach myself. Took class over summer so was not all bad, overall okay teacher, interesting material.
She's an awesome professor, engaging and charismatic. There's a lot of reading but the online textbook resources are invaluable and really help study for exams. She did cancel class at least 4 times by the beginning of march but she always posts a narrated lecture online for the days she's not there so your time and money are never wasted
Worst professor I have had in all four years. Not understanding of any issues, extremely tough and inconsiderate for no reason. Does not care for student success even amongst a pandemic.
