I liked her alright. She seemed to gravitate towards students who knew how to scuba dive and those that she knew before hand. I often tried to get more involved in her class, but it seemed like I couldn't. But easy A. Would reccomend.

Explains things well, uses lots of outside aids. Need to really know your stuff and work hard in the lab. Very friendly, approachable and helpful; goes by "Sue" to all of her students and her door (including at her house) is always open.

Prof. Phillips is a great teacher more than willing to help with any problems you may have. She enjoys her subject and cares about her students. The outlines and lectures were so clear, I only used the book for the pictures. If you want it, an A is not too hard to get.

I had her for both Bio 1 and 2 and I highly recommend her to anyone. Easy to follow, aqnd provides lots of examples.

She makes this class worth your while! Of course the bookwork is on your own, but you are constantly doing hands-on fieldwork. Honestly, what kind of class will you be able to spend 5 days in the Keys, and get 4 credits? None, other than this one. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Awesome teacher!!! She is one of my favorite teachers. She made the subject interesting. If you do what she says to do, as far as studying, you will get an A. She really was great at explaining things and even offered extra help on the parts of the chapter that were more difficult to. I recommend reading chapters in the book before she teaches them

Would highly recomend Prof. Phyllips. She is a very good teacher. She lectures on whats she puts on the tests. The tests are not the easiest, but she gives study guides and goes over them. She also plays a review game, that is very helpful, that she gives extra credit with. I highly recomend her.

She is freaking AWESOME! She hands out an outline for what you should study. All you have to do is listen in class, and read over the outline before the test,(easy stuff). The ONLY way you could possibly fail her class is if you are a COMPLETE MORON, and don't listen during class.

Not an easy course. Tons of info to cover. Spends class just walking through the course outline. Does a decent job of explaining the material, but it's pretty boring. Tests are no exactly easy either. I'm normally a very good student and I found myself studying a little more for this class. No real homework though, which is nice.

Best Teacher, Took her for Bio 1 Bio 2 and Marine Bio. She is very helpful and will help in any way she can. Has extra credit if you need it which helps a lot too. Tests are a little hard but it makes you learn the material. Has a game show before the tests that is made from the test questions and its extra credit. Best teacher would reccamend her

Some real hard material here.Know everything in the study guide! Her grading, in the end, is very kind and not what she tells you in the beginning. Do not be a watcher in labs or you will do terrible in the lab practical exam.

Really tough tests. She lectures the entire class period, and she talks REALLY fast. The tests are REALLY hard, and the study guide and game show review questions are what you definitely need to study. Labs are what kept me from not failing! As long as you have good study habits and whatnot, you'll do fine. Otherwise, Godspeed.

Awesome professor. I had her a while back, and I really retained the material. I'm working on a graduate degree in nursing now, and all I can say is; if you are in a major where science is important...this is the professor for you. The material was well delivered and I know it well enough to apply it!

Susan's class is wonderful. She gives you plenty of chances to make a good grade, including 2 extra labs and an optional final if you like your first 5 tests... One will need to study, thats for sure... but if you are interested in the class you will learn a great deal..

Laid back and straight forward. Good teaching skills , but dont talk in class she turns into a witch. Tests are moderate and she gives an optional final with open book! Labs are super easy, but you can't miss those or you get zeros, offers extra credit, and she's great for the meteokre student.

Took her for BIO 1 and 2. She is the best, very down t earth and she makes sure you understand everything. Especially in 2 because its our majors. Definatly take this Bio teacher

Not an easy class, but she's very fair and tries pretty hard to make sure everyone is on the same page. I hated having to take this class, but she made it bearable. The tests are difficult, but as long as you study the class outline and pay attention when she's lecturing, you should be okay.

Mrs. Phillips was a pretty awesome teacher. Definitely one of my favorite BCC professors. Her class was alllll about the field trips which were always fun and educational. Her hybrid BIO II clas was amazing, we did labs ever class. her class wasn't even that hard just study the lab manual.

Very good teacher! As someone already wrote the hybrid class is great in that every class is a lab which is very conducive for learning. She has many fieldtrips for this same reason, really puts your reading in perspective. These trips also serve as extra credit so if you need it is plentifully available. You should definitey take her for Bio II.

Great teacher! Allows corrections on labs, there's extra credit field trips, & online tests. I took her for bio 1&2, never used the book and I got 2 A's. The course outline really helps to skim the fat, allowing you to do better on tests & you also end up remembering more.

She makes Biology completely comprehensible! If you don't know anything about Biology, she's the one to take. You'll leave her class knowing a full understanding of Biology. She doesn't assign a lot of work, either. This class is completely manageable.

Mrs. Phillips was a great teacher. I bought just the lab manual & course review packets she asked us to buy & I didn't purchase the text book. I was just short of getting an A. Labs were easy, just show up & do the work. Online quizzes & you can redo them to get A's. Tests were hard because I don't test well. Offers extra credit. Definitely take!

When it comes to Biology, you can't go wrong choosing her. As long as you study and pay attention and do the work, you are in the clear.

Had Phillips for Bio 1 and 2, I would definitely recommend her for any class. Although her tests can be a little tricky, if you don't do good on them she has plenty of other options so you can still do fine. If you have to take biology Mrs. Phillips is the way to go!!

I am taking her for Biology. She goes really fast and the class is fairly boring, but how exciting can the krebs cycle rally be? I don't think I have opened the text book once this semester, all I use is the outline and I hav an A. Tests are hard but if you just memorize the outline you will do fine. Plus she gives extra credit all the time.

I took her for Bio II hybrid. There are five 50 question test online and no final! Test are open book and notes. You have 90mins to complete them. Labs are in class and you are allowed to correct mistakes for full credit. Field trips are fun and she gives extra credit. Study for lab practical and you'll be fine!

I like her. She's a great Bio teacher. She lets you do labs until you get 100%~~ full credit. Leaves many opportunities for extra credit. Can't expect Bio to be cake and pie..I would recommend her

She is an amazing teacher, who is dedicated to making biology interesting. She has a passion for it, therefore she knows what she is talking about and wants you to learn it also.She is not the easiest, you have to work for an A. Her Marine Biology class the greatest opportunity to learn outside of the classroom. Definetly take her!

I enjoyed this class because it was very hands-on. I found the field trips to be very fun and helpful for learning the material. The exams are difficult but you are provided with an outline and review of each chapter.

This class was intimidating to me since I had very little prior knowledge of Biology. I averaged a C for the tests but still pulled off an A thanks to labs and extra credit. There are a lot of ways to improve your grade but to pass the tests it requires a lot of studying. Copy the gameshow review questions and answers. Take pictures if you must.

Ms. Phillips is a college level teacher and she provides you with an outline and lecture notes. It is your responsibility to study. I really love biology and I work really hard in the this class to get an A on each test. The labs are fun and easy for the most part. She does give extra credit as well. I think she is a fair teacher.

Ms. Phillips is an awesome teacher. I recommend recording the class and listening to it over because she talks fast if your not used to it. Also she will say stuff in class that is on the test. Do not buy the book. You don't need it. Lastly do all extra credit. She's a great teacher and you will actually learn about biology!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLASSES. Took her Hybrid Bio 2 class. It was awesome! As long as you keep organized of course. Her labs were fun, field trips were the best!, and she prepared you 100% for the lab practicals- no surprises! Just study! Join Environmental Club too! It's a lot of fun and you get to go on more trips =D!!

She makes biology interesting to learn and she tries to give her students a chance to pass. The outline has everything so there's really no need for the book. Definitely do the exam reviews in the outline to help study for tests.

Although I will admit the class is tough and it may require more study than other classes would, Ms. Phelps does a very nice job of keeping the class interesting. She also provide lots of extra credit and to drop one of the test at the end. So even if you bomb one of them, you can definitely pull off an A in the class.

She's a great teacher. I highly recommend taking her. She gives a game show quiz which contains 18 of the 50 questions that will appear on the exams. You'll be prepared for the Lab Practical & you get extra points on the test if your team wins/come second in the game show quiz. PLEASE TAKE HER B/C I'VE HEARD COMPLAINTS ABOUT ANOTHER BIO TEACHER.

She is a GREAT teacher. I love the Gameshow Review, which gives you around 18 out of 50 questions on an exam.

Sue has to be one of the best, most caring teachers ever. I took her for Bio 2 and Marine Bio and I can not come up with one negative thing to say. She uses a lot of field work to teach lessons to her classes so if you do not like the outdoors then you may want to take another teacher. If you have the will to learn she will teach you all she knows.

I took the 6 wk. summer hybrid course in Marine Bio. It's fast paced w/lots of field work. It is easy to get behind so stay on top of the HW. Great for a hands-on learner so this class was perfect for me. Ms. Phillips is very knowledgeable and explains things very well. A 6 wk. course was ambitious but probably my favorite course to date at EFSC.

She is a very sweet Woman. Test are tough but you can still pass her class. She lets you retake labs till you get a 100% as many times as you want online ! Also She has her own notes manual that way we wont have to buy a $ 200 textbook ! Also does a review game before every test , TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT !

Extremely helpful and uses an outline that WILL help you TREMENDOUSLY. She offers extra credit opportunities that get you points on the test. I highly recommend her for anybody. One of the best teachers I've had.

As long as you turn in all your assignments, you'll still pass. It's hard to pass tests, though. (I didn't get a grade higher than a 68 all semester but still ended the semester with a high B.) She was a really nice & helpful teacher, I'd take her class again! Plus, you don't even need the biology book because she teaches out of the course outline.

I highly recommend taking the hybrid course! All you have to do is turn in labs (that aren't that hard at all, they are really fun) and turn in the online test. You are bound to get an A or B if you do well and turn everything in. This teacher is a pure sweetheart and very loving teacher. I just wish she was my Bio teacher in High School!

Great Instructor! Took me a little getting used to how fast she talks in the beginning. But she could not be more clear on what is going to be on the tests. As long as you study her lecture notes & show up game review day you should do well on tests. Do the extra credit labs. I'm convinced this is what bumped me from a B to an A. Highly recommend!

Ms. Phillips is a great Bio professor. The hybrid class is face to face labs and online lecture. She requires you to go to field trips, but they coincide with the material pretty well. She has 5 online exams which are pretty hard, and there are two lab tests. Ms. Phillips herself is nice and willing to help you out. Overall pretty satisfying class.

I absolutely loved ms phillips. I was scared at first that my bio 2 class was hybrid, but I really loved this class. The field trips are the best part, and the labs are sometimes fun too. I recommend studying for lab practicals weeks in advance, but she posts a review guide online. Tests are tough, but those weren't a problem. TAKE HER FOR BIO 2!!

Mrs. Phillips is by far one of the best teachers I have EVER had. She is so nice and care about you. There are 5 tests which if you somewhat pay attention you will pass. Had her for Bio 1 & Bio 2. Bio 2 there are field trips you go to for extra credit. You went and stayed at the Aquarium for one! So fun and would definitely recommend to any1.

Shes big on lectures and visual aides. She does a game of jeopardy as a review before each test day, which is super helpful. Her tests are super easy as long as you take good notes and pay attention to the lectures.

She is definitely challenging but if you put in the work and pay attention you will do great! She has a really good outline for every lecture and does a gameshow review before all the exams. all my exams were multiple choice. She was easy to talk to and classes were very interactive. Mrs. Phillips teaching style is very simple. She lectures and goes over lab manual. Labs usually one a week (week your in a group with, so get to know your group members well). The a test every couple chapters but she does a game for the test and gives a fair amount of extra credit. No easy A, but is still manageable.

She really knows the information and is good at explaining the material. The lectures are interesting and she provides lots of extra credit opportunities. Lab quizzes are weekly and online with unlimited attempts, so easy points. She wants to help her students succeed.

I loved her! She was a great biology teacher. She explained things in detail in class. I loved about the class the most is the labs. Lets say you get a D on her tests and As on her weekly labs. You will pass the classes. Just buy the textbook.. it gives you more info about the things she talks about . I studied both book and outline for tests.

Her lecture's are heavy, she goes very fast as if you should already know material, study the text and notes she gives!! There's PLENTY of extra credit, online labs are unlimited, she allows you to make up one missed test at the end of the semester. Gameshow reviews before tests and drops lowest test score!! The hardest part of the class was the lab practicals, which you'll NEED to study for. There was also four field trips, which were a blast. Great class.

I took the hybrid course so we only met one night a week. Easiest A. Online tests that are not proctored, discussion post questions, pre lab quizzes, labs & field trips. There are only 2 lab practicals but if you excel on the tests & labs and don't do well on the practicals, you'll get a solid B in the class. It's hard to fail. She genuinely cares.

Shes easy just buy the course outline for 15$ and dont get the book literally no point and she does awesome game show reviews.

She gives you the ability to pick your grade up with extra credit. I found her lectures easy to follow. She helps you get the best grade you can in the lecture, tests and labs. She gives you feedback when needed. I would gladly take her for another class.

Professor Philips is knowledgeable about what she's teaching. She hates when you don't follow directions. If you ask her question she already answered, she'll get slick real quick. Studying for this class is crucial. There's lots of tests, but she gives a lot of extra credit.

Prf. Phillips has amazing lectures. I took her Bio 1 course as a hybrid course so all of her lectures are pre-recorded and accessible online. This really helped me because I could pause to take notes or relisten to a difficult concept. There are clear grading guidelines and a ton of extra credit that you can get to help you pass a difficult course.

Even if you fail your midterm or final exam you have a clear shot of passing if you just do the lab work and participate. All her directions and instructions are straight forward and precise. I loved Pfp. Phillips! I took her class as a hybrid and loved it. All lectures and tests were online, giving me time to take notes and understand the material. You always had the opportunity to make up any missed work and there was always open communication. You have to not try in her class to do poorly. The Exams were detailed, so make sure to study for those. All quizzes were a breeze, it's based off of what we did in lab. The lecture videos she made helped a lot when going over the chapter PowerPoints.
