I found this class to be easy as long as you do the homework and the blogs. She says her tests are hard but if you use the study guide for the tests your sure to pass. She only gives two tests and a final, however, you can drop your lowest test grade so if you get A's on your first two tests you don't have to take the final.
Prof wants students to succeed.Lots of extra credit, homework, and blogs. Just do the work and get an easy A. Test are not hard if you use the study guide.
I loved this class. Professor is awesome, lectures are always interesting and easy to understand. As long as you do the homework and blogs and study the study guide for tests, you will succeed!
Two words: EXTRA CREDIT. If you do all your homework in the problems, you will get ridiculous amounts of extra credit for the final exam and almost a guaranteed A. Her class is very lenient and abundant amounts of grade forgiveness. Take this class if you want to pass.
Awesome teacher. She provides lots of extra credit and I actually learned in her class. Easy test. Easy A.
She is real awesome! No lie. Do the homework and blogs. Extra credit comes when you do extra problems in hw. When review for tests go to it kuz she basically goes over the upcomin test. she uses ppt slides to teach class. jot down notes.
she is a nice lady. uses a lot of example which is good. there is always a homework though and a weekly blog. she really cares for her students. she gives 3 exams and you can drop your lowest grade. i got 2 As on the first two exams so i didn't take the final. easy A... but the book is very expensive though which is always needed on the homework.
Awesome teacher. She gives you all the imformation you need for tests. The key to this class is EXTRA CREDIT! Do as much as you cant. Every homework assignment as e.c. opportunities. All the e.c. points go to your tests. It helps so much! Highly recommended!
Professor Reilly is a young professor. Can be an **** sometimes because she still has that young peoples attitude. Besides that she's pretty awesome. There is a ton of extra credit and she only has 3 exams, drop the lowest grade. Homework is a must, attendance is a must and the book is a must. No late work. She also requires a group project.
This class is a tad bit harder than her 2013 class but it is still do able. Reading the text is necessary. There is a quiz for every chapter, 3 tests (drops the lowest score), multiple blogs due, 4 problem sets of about 15 questions each. Plenty opportunity for extra credit though. If you take this class be prepared to work, be prepared to learn.
She is a great teacher and knows a lot about economics. She provides interesting and relevant examples during her lectures. There is a lot of work required for the class, so the grade you receive will be determined by the amount of effort you put forth.
Teacher has a lot of extra credit available. She assigns groups and if your group shows up every class you get extra points so pick good group, its why i got an A. Otherwise come to class and take lots of notes and you should do fine.
I enjoyed her class! Take her!!! And if you do make sure you show up to class!!! Multitude of extra credit opportunities!
Alright teacher. economics is not my favorite but she made it interesting. TONS of extra credit! like i said, economics is not my strong suit but made over a hundred on the tests and was exempt from the final. she drops the lowest test grade. yea, she can be a lil cocky sometimes but overall good teacher. would recommend her.
Professor Reilly is nice but she treated this course as if it was our only one! You will be required to do ALOT of reading along with written summaries for each and multiple blogs. She gives extra-credit so that can helps. If you have the extra time, the material is interesting and she grades fairly. I recommend her just be prepared to work.
Professor Reilly is excellent. She made the course very interesting & covered many different topics. It probably is more work than many other classes at FSCJ, but this is college, get used to it. The blogs were fun! I definitely recommend her.
Professor Reilly is a really great teacher. Very enthusiastic and loves the subject she teaches which makes it more interesting! She responds to emails in a timely manor and gives a lot of extra credit. This class is a work load but if you manage your time wisely and study hard you cannot earn anything less than B.
Overall good professor, knows alot about the subject, heavy workload, the text book is required and you will use it a lot.4 problem sets. 3 exams. This is not a class to take if you are looking for an easy A and not willing to put in effort or the work. Lots of extra credit &bonus points, very time consuming.Took a while to respond to emails
Quite easily the worst teacher I have ever had at any level. She is incredibly disorganized, contradicts what she says and makes you feel stupid for questioning her, and is completely unreliable. But most of all, she genuinely doesn't care about any of her students; she couldnt even remember my name by the end of the course. Take someone else.
Be prepared to do the work, but only what is necessary to learn the course and pass. Plenty of extra credit opportunities available. Strict guidelines, but not overbearing. uses the same book for ECO2023, so she saves you some money if you take her again.
I took her for women studies...one of the worse teacher's I've ever had. I'm really shocked by the positive reviews that people are giving her. She is VERY rude, contradicts everything she says, basically tells you you're wrong if you don't agree with her, she isn't clear on her assignments, and has a bad temper.
if you have a life outside of school don't take her class. I've been in class with her for the past 15 weeks and she still doesn't know the names of anyone in the class...it's irritating.
Ok so I got an A in this class but she gave way too much work. I actually have never complained about a professor before. But she is ridiculous, she is completely rude to all of her students. When you ask a question she snaps at you, this was not just a one time thing, this happened everytime. She doesnt care about her students!
She gives so much extra credit!
She has a course outline but if you dont like online classes even though this isnt one she treats as it is online quizes every sunday night and she is very clear on her grading scale. Not very interesting teacher.
She gives a lot of work, but TONS of extra credit and bonus point opportunities. I had absolutely no interest in economics in high school and hated it, but she made it more interesting. Lots of group class work to help with exams. Likes mature students, in night classes. I would definitely recommend her if you're dedicated. If you slack off, don't.
Getting an A is like a piece of cake in this class.Tonnes of extra credit and bonus points, just need to study for the test the night before and you can get away with an A. She is very helpful and extremely knowledgeable.
Professor Reilly is a good, but a strict professor at the same time and will be happy to help you. You get three options to choose for each section and she even offers extra credit and bonus points. Attendance is a must for her class and you will fail her course if you miss more than five. If you decide to take Economics at FSCJ, then choose her.
If you have the chance to take her, you should definitely do so! Her class is a lot of work, don't get me wrong, but she will prepare you well and is very willing to help if needed. She offers a lot of bonus points and extra credit and an A is very possible. I can't stand Econ, but I enjoyed this class.
Be prepared to work. The problem sets, quizzes, and worksheets prepares you for the exams. 3 exams, online (take home quizzes) Online test is timed. Lots of extra credit/bonus points. Field trip with Fed Reserve is optional however, this is an extra credit opportunities. Read before class. Read your syllabus. Don't be absent.
Read the chapters before class and make sure to do the homework and you will do fine. There are a lot of chances for extra credit. Her method of grading is a little confusing. She is very engaging when teaching and definitely feeds off the class energy.
As long as you show up and are willing to do work her class is an easy A. She tends to be pretty unclear about things sometimes, but she is a good teacher and is strict. Just keep up with the work and study your notes before the tests and you'll do fine!
Really strict with deadlines, but has reasonable expectations. She provides plenty of opportunities of extra credit and bonus points that help your test scores. As long as you stay on top of your assignments it is a easy B at least.
Class is pretty easy if you actually do what she tells you to do. Read the text, do the work, do the extra credit, come to class, study for the test. The concepts arent hard if you put in some effort to learn them.
Dr Reilly is one of the best teachers I have had. She is enthusiastic and very helpful. At times it can be difficult to follow her lectures, but if you ask a question she will answer it with great clarity. She assigns a lot of work, but at the end of the course, you will know the material.
Professor Reilly is a good teacher and maybe its just me, but the tests were extremely hard. She offers a lot of extra credit though. I don't recommend taking her but if you do, make sure you do all the extra credit.
She was a really nice professor. The material was a little hard for me but she assigned a lot of extra credit and other easy assignments that I ended up with a good grade. She's the right teacher to take if Economics is hard for you.
Extra credit is as easy as class participation. I've not done any of her extra credit chances and each test I have bonus points to use. Lots of graphsm but simple to draw. Pay attention, you'll do fine.
So much busy work
Be prepared for a semester filled with busy work and lectures that are completely irrelevant to the quizzes/tests.
Professor Reilly is extremely confrontational and aggressive in her policies. She seems very vindictive and has accused multiple students of cheating for no apparent reason. She is extremely quick to quote the syllabus when it benefits her and will change it when it does not. DO NOT TAKE!
Favorite professor at fscj, though she is not that easy, you actually learn a lot in this class and she lets you pick what questions you want to answer on the tests.
Reilly started off the class very informative with all of the information and said she was on the students side. After the first exam she decided to change the grading percentage criteria and the quizes plus exams after that which made the class alot tougher. She blamed people in class for this happening. She can also be power hungry with students.
Professor Reilly is a model of excellence at FSCJ. She goes above and beyond to teach the material, and makes you work to attain a good grade. I've never learned this much to the point where i'm confident that I will remember the information for a long period of time.
I loved her! She was very helpful and really explains the content well. If you don't understand something she's more than willing to work with you after class. The work load isnt that bad, it really depends on your time management. Exams can be a little tricky but she give lots of bonus points to boost up your score. Great professor!
Not easy grader. Lots of busy work.
Final exam is next week and I wanted to warn other students that might take this professor. After studying like never before, I might fail. She is a nice lady however her teaching style is not for everyone. This is a tough class.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! She isn't helpful at all her instructions are very vague she just expects you to know what she wants. I did not learn anything in her class I just did my assignments just to pass. You might as well take an online class she is no help but if you do not come to class she does not care for you
Dr. Reilly is a great professor! She makes learning economics fun and easy to understand. The homework is not hard to do and the tests are sort of hard, but if you pay attention in class and write some notes down they're a breeze. I definitely recommend Dr. Reilly. And I'll be trying to take her second class too!
This class took up all my time. Dr. Reilly is a nice lady, but not helpful and at times unapproachable . She yelled at a student for closing his notebook to loud. Very picky about assignments and confrontational as well. I would never take a class from her again and I warn you not to as well.
I took eco 2013 with her and loved it so I made sure to take eco 2023 with her as well. She explains things well and genuinely cares that the students learn and understand. She is also an accomplished economist who knows what she's talking about, seen her on the news and such. If you need economics then make sure it's with her, you won't regret it!
I took Dr. Reilly for both Econ 1 and 2. The material is not that hard , but don't expect Dr. Reilly to help out any. She is strict in her policies and she expects her students to work hard. If you are looking for an easy B- please look elsewhere. If you are willing to work like you have never worked before - take her.
Dr. Reilly is an awesome professor! I wish I could go back into time and take her for ECON 2013. I actually found myself looking forward to going to her class; she makes lectures exciting and uses examples everyone could relate to. There are only 3 exams which aren't easy, however, she does offer a lot of bonus points and extra credit. I recommend!
This was my toughest class thus far. I failed the course and I will be retaking it in the fall(NOT WITH REILLY). My problem with this class was not the course material, but the instructor. Reilly is not helpful nor is she pleasant at the least. Save yourself the headache by simply taking another teacher.
She was an awesome teacher. As long as you go to class and pay attention, there shouldn't be any reason why you shouldn't pass. She does give weekly homework (Simple stuff). Does NOT take late work. but gives plenty of extra credit.
Extremely passionate for economics and teaching. Has a very long syllabus that outlines assignments as well as grading criteria. Always there for questions via office hours, email, or twitter. Definitely my favorite professor this semester, would totally take again. Show up, pay attention, take notes, ask questions, and turn in assignments on time.
Great Professor, she really cares about her students and how they are doing in her class. She gives tons of opportunity for extra credit, and has bonus points that you can use on exams to get up to 10 extra points. ALWAYS CHECK THE SYLLABUS! It is basically an outline of the course. Do the work (on time), and come to class, and you will pass.
you know when there are teachers you automatically love them, Professor Reilly was not one of those teachers. She only care about her self. On the first day of class she give us a long syllabus, she expects you to know it front and back til the next class. Long homeworks, online work, and the handouts were stupid, if you are taking her, Good luck
Professor Reilly was not the most approachable person, but help is there if you ask for it. Lectures are clear, homework was quick, and tests reflect the study guide. Always be on time, she does not accept late work even a minute late.
Professor Reilly is a great and thorough Professor. She states exactly what she expects and it is up to the student to fulfill her expectations. She gives extra credit and a whole lot of it too, it's just up to the students if he/she wants to do it. It would be impossible not to pass her class. Don't be lazy, and don't procrastinate.
Professor is very helpful and her method of teaching is clear. Test are tough though if you study and know the material you can get a A+ . Her lectures are fun and she relates them to the real world. She gives a ton of extra credit in her class. She answers question very quickly either by email or twitter.
Pretty straightforward class. But beware this woman is extremely sensitive to judgement of her class. Will yell at you if you yawn or many any sort of comment about being happy to not be in her class. She is extremely anal about time. She gave me a 0 on a homework assignment because I was 3, yes three minutes late to class.
I took her for the spring semester for dual enrollment (last credit to graduate from high school) and for the most part the class was easy. Choose to do the problem sets if you forget daily homework, it saved me! She's a nice teacher and from the first day of class, an obvious memer! Lots of chances for extra points either in kahoots or chapters.
Had Dr. Reilly for ECO 2013, and 2023, I can sum up her rating in 2 words THE BEST!!!! if you have the option to take a course with this professor, even if you have to drive across town, do it! you will have zero regrets. Dr. Reilly is by far the best professor @ FSJC.
This is professor is amazing. If you take her you will not regret it.
Susan was such an awesome professor. She really understood her students and respected everyones learning styles. In the beginning of class she does a little survey/quiz for bonus points and sees the areas the class is struggling with. She then goes into further explanation about these areas. Never a boring class with her!
She gives TONS of extra credit, it's hard to fail the class. It's a lot of work and a lot of heavy material, but as long as you do the homework, the extra credit, and do good on the Kahoots, you will be fine! She also lets you pick the best choice for you, because everyone is different! She can be a bit snarky, but she is very helpful. Good luck!
I never would have thought I would be able to actually understand economics before I took this course. Her lectures are so clear and she really helps students understand hard concepts. This class is a lot of work, but she always offers help.
Loved this prof. teaching style. She is super passionate about what she teaches and wants her students to thrive. planning on taking ECO2023 with her this summer if she offers it! just pay attention and its an easy class.
Dr Reilly was an incredible professor. Very clear from the start about what she expects and how to pass her class. if you come to class and do the homework it's pretty smooth sailing. She gets great lectures that really explain the material and home work each day plus extra credit is designed to really drive home the info! Lots of bonus options too
Dr. Reilly was amazing. The class has A LOT of information, and you need to have a solid foundation from the start because it builds on it. She is VERY clear from the start what is needed to pass. Do ALL assignments, and GO TO CLASS! She gives so many extra credit points but you have to be there and you have to Know the material. Anyone CAN Pass!
She was a good teacher, and I was a bad student simple as that. She was very nice and tried to help me but she can come across as harsh. If you dont turn your homework right when class starts you will get a zero. She lets you have a notecard with whatever you want on it for every test including the optional final exam. Shes actually really funny.
3 tests and the final is optional, which replaces a test you bombed. Work consists of reading, videos/modules to do, problem sets or daily homeworks. Pay attention to lectures. Tests aren't that hard. So much extra credit, take advantage of it. BE ON TIME! She doesn't accept homework if you're late to class. Amazing professor. You'll do well
Professor Reilly really makes sure you have the opportunity to succeed. She gives you many options on how you want to learn, and even current ways of keeping in contact. Here lectures are easy to understand, and the assignments are not hard. Even if you struggle, there are many extra credit opportunities. Make sure you get the right book too.
Loved her ! Gives so many extra credit points and drops your lowest exam . Lets you have a notecard on the exam . Final is optional . Passionate about economics.
Although she is nice, her explanation on various topics in economics isn't very clear. If you don't get it right the first time in class you have to search for help online and study or you are likely to fail. In addition, she is very vocal about what she doesn't like. If you do something she disapproves of she is likely to embarrass in class.
she is very willing to help but soooo confusing. We are required to do online assignments, online videos, and reading prior to class. All of this on top of her semi confusing lectures. It makes it really heard to know what is what and how she wants things done. She gives extra credit opportunities but the test arent multiple choice. Just confusing
She has her own system of tests and grades that can seem daunting at first. For how confusing it is, though, it's rather structured and she lines out things in her syllabus nicely. She's on top of things and responds to emails quickly. LOTS of extra credit, so do your work and it's an easy A. She's nice and is passionate for economics.
A bit confused on some assignments. It's a heavy workload but she gives a lot of extra credit options She will go out of her way to help you understand concepts.
Okay I've seen all of the other reviews but they must've had a good version of Susan. She is way too overbearing and literally told me I would be written up for academic dishonesty if I "plagiarized" again when I literally had no sources in the assignment. She is way too hard on grading and honestly way over sensitive and rude. Avoid if you can!!!!
She is extremely condescending and rude. When I asked her for help she did not help at all and got on to me for not using the right words when asking for help. Avoid this class unless you want to be belittled for everything you do by a dry and boring teacher. The workload is very heavy and her lectures are extremely confusing.
Shes a good person, but as a teacher she tried too hard to make the students learn the materials, she tracks attendance, makes students do break out groups for a participation grade, and participate in polls. Her tests arent that bad, but the work online is so time consuming. Her class isnt the hardest but it is unwanted stress.
Great lectures and gives out sheets to help make notes. Lots of extra credit opportunities
Professor Reilly is a very nice, and caring teacher. However, she is test heavy, and gives a lot of homework. She grades by points and not percentage, so tally every grade you get. She also lets you know how many points you need to get in order to get a C, B, or A. Just do the work, pay attention, and study.
