Very explanatory. Encourages students to work in groups and help one another. Doesn't use a textbook--so you only have to pay a $20 copy fee!

A great teacher who is willing to help.
The book is hard to follow along, not much explanation. Also, the teacher is never willing to help. The entire class failed.
DO NOT take this class if you are a bad test taker!!!!! Snow goes only off tests. :( If you like math/can teach yourself/are a good test taker, this is a good class, otherwise, strap in cause it's gonna be a rough ride.
This teacher can be an ok math teacher, however, if your a person who is not good in math, my advise is that you don't take her as a math teacher. This is because she doesn't put much of her effort into teaching those who are weak in math specifically.
i am horrible at math, but she made it fun. she places a strong emphasis on group work and many of the quizzes are taken in groups. she has a great personality and is willing to help you if you ask. i recomend her as a teacher
**** is the only way to describe a **** white trash like Susan Snow! She doesn't explain in anything in-depth. She doesn't write much on the board to show you how the math problems work! I hate her, I hope she gets sued! ****!
so awful **** b**** only helped the white students in class that sat in the corner. wasnt helpful at all!!!even after asking for help and after she saw me in the math lab trying to get help!!!stay away if possible at all cost!!!i hope she gets fired!
not a good teacher. not willing to help students. advises students to go to math lab or work in groups. the name teacher doesn't apply to her. Do not take this teacher. she should not be teaching.
She was very nice and helpfull to international students.
Shes okay...she helps all people (not just the whites) she has her moments but once she get comfortable in the class shes ok as a teacher.
Good teacher, but I still had lots of questions. She always made time to talk to me and answer my questions
Snow wont explain nething, even if noone gets it, shouldnt be teaching, might be ****/****, not sure. Surprised I passed.. this teacher is so HORRIBLE! If you arent gr8 @ tests, pass it up, dude...
she sux
methodical and easy to follow, as long as you dont ditch class you are always provided with an in depth look at every new thing, and then put into groups to learn from peers, if you still have questins, she is ALWAYS AVAILABLE!! I learned so much
I thought she was a very good teacher. Show up to all classes, pay attention and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. You should be fine.
She is okay . . . But if you ask a lot of questions or are bad at math don’t take her. I have seen her be very rude to people who don’t understand. She will not give you extra help. Her tests are okay. BTW don’t look for an A here unless you are very smart. Only 3/36 people got an A.
pretty nice teacher. short tempered sometimes and a little rude to people that don't understand something, but also has her good days. tries to cover too many things in one class. allows group work instead of lecturing the whole time, which i like better. overall a nice teacher
nice teacher overall...but doesnt explain the topics very clear; trys to teach to many things in one class meeting; if u need help with something, she gets very frustrated with it..thinks you should know the answer.....very short temepered, knows the subject but doesnt know how to teach it....
Pretty easy class. She is very nice. Very helpfull. I would recommend it. Nice lady.
she is a great teacher, explains things very well. Does not give alot of homework, and teaches at a pace where everyone can understand it. i would recommend her to any math student
My first semester back to school, totally terrified of anything mathematical, Snow put me at ease and helped me understand that Math is not some evil torture device invented by the Spanish Inquisition. I passed the class with a B and was well grounded for the rest of the maths I needed to take. No patience for SLACKERS!
very good teacher
She has a rule. If you miss 1 on a test you fail the class. If you don't complete your homework assignments you fail the class.. Some people have learning disabilities. She liikes groups. I hated that couldnt get anyone strong to help us. She needs to be taught how to work better with Learning Disabled Students. Give us a chance. We were only
it was just hard to follow through with her because you wouldnt know what to write down in your notes. she went really fast and never gave us a break in our 2 hour long class that was held ever other day
she is a good teacher, gets the info across. you dont get a break. but her class followed a routine so it went by quicker. good teacher.
Mrs. Snow is helpful, direct and wants her students to do well. She is "on-task" and patient with her students. I was entry-level after being out of school for many years, and Math is NOT my best subject. Mrs. Snow made it worthwhile for me, and I would recommend her to any serious student in Algebra.

i used to have a fear of math. i did well in every subject but math. she's the first teacher i've ever had that made me feel confident about my abilities. she shows us how to use our calculators. she expects people to show up and pay attention. those who don't are sorry. she's fair, and tough love. good with explaining abstract concepts
if you are thinking about taking a class from her DON'T. she is one of the worst tearhers i have had. there was no actual text book, it was a bunch of printed out papers that came in a big envelope. so if you didnt come to class or if you didn't understand what was taught in class then you have to teach yourself cause she doesnt have time for you o
People love her or they hate her! I loved her! I loved the photocopied book cuz it allows you to work right there underneath the problem, and allows for notes on the back of the pages... helped me keep organized! As far as her character- don't be antimidated by her she is harmless and is a sweet lady that is willing to help cut her some slack!!!!!!
I hate math and so do many others because its hard and stupid. However she makes it worse by forcing us to show work HER WAY, and not any other... if you don't do it her way, you're screwed... in short don't take her.
she is the worst teacher ever she doesn't explain anything only 2-3 people pass her class each semester everybody gets a big fat F and she'll drop you if you miss 3 classes the whole semester!! Don't take her class
My boyfriend and I walked into that class, and 15 minutes into it, she explained how she doesn't answer your questions and doesn't have time to wait around for you. She tells you to go to the math lab for help, shes a really bad teacher im switching out Asap!!!!!! do it, or you're going to fail.
Didn't make us buy a textbook. Small amount of homework. If you came to class & did homework you could do well. Made sure students understood concepts as long as it didn't drag class down.
she was a very easy teacher, she treated us like we were in 1st grade just learning how to count. she explained everything clearly, step by step and there was no need for a book. just a work book that she created. i highly recommend her if you need an easy A. i'll def. be taking her for math 50.
She has her own book of copied papers with practice on it but if you still don't get it there is nothing to reference by like a regular text book. Does not like to answer questions. Very unflexible and rude. DON'T take her class. She doesn't care if you are struggling. You have to teach yourself
was impatient and unhelpful. makes u feel like there is, such thing as a dumb question.
She definitely does not like answering questions. As the semester went on, more and more students stopped showing up. Homework is hard. Tests are pretty much you're whole grade. So in short, don't take her! You will regret it.
Susan snow was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She was rude, mean and had no patients. She nevers answers questions and hates to be asked anything. Everything you ask she makes you feel more and more dumb. She should not teach at all.
Awesome Teacher! I hated math until I had her. All the answers to hw are available on blackboard or in the math lab. Tests were pretty easy. She explained everything step by step and made sure everyone was on the same page. She's definitely not afraid to speak her mind though, which is a good thing. She's a great teacher. Got an A in her class.
This teacher isn't compassionate towards her students. She angrily sent away crashers. Doesn't want to answer many questions if she answers any and shows it by acting put-out. Made rude remarks towards a student and her approach to solving math problems. If you're struggle and need help, she won't provide it and says,"oh well."
She makes her own book so you don't have to spend a lot of money on something. Her lessons are easy to follow and go great with her teaching plan. Takes a little warming up to but is helpful outside of class. As long as you show up 80% of the time, you will be fine. I learned A LOT!!
She was such a nice lady and she had so much patience. She has a test after each chapter which makes it easier. I loved being in her class.
By far the best math teacher I have had in 10 years, tests are super easy, very comprehensive and she laughs at random stuff, presents math in a fun and easy way, I highly recommend her class.
Honestly she a nice Lady but she doesn't really seem like she wants to help. I noticed she put down other students ways of doing problems if it wasn't her teaching style. If your good at math take her, if you struggle I suggest someone else. She does make her her own textbook which I loved! Great idea and the work was so much easier that way.
Susan snow is the first person to explain things in a way i could understand. Math seemed very scary and confusing before her class. In the years since I have learned a lot on my own and in other classes. She won't hold your hand, but she is fair and gives opportunities for extra credit.
Summer, 6 week class-It was hard and very fast but for someone whose worst subject is math (hate it) she opened my eyes. She can be cold at times but its only b/c she wants you to think for yourself, that is part of the college exp she will not coddle you. She gives lots of ex cred opps. I hate to admit it but I look forward to her Math 60 class.
I don not under stand some peoples rating of Susan Snow. I think her teaching style is PERFECT. She is very interactive and helpful. If I will take her as a math professor any day.
She is an excellent professor. I hate math, it is my worst subject, but Snow manages to make it bearable. She writes her own textbook which makes the class flow well. As someone else said, she can be cold at times but it is only because she wants you to think for yourself. I wish she taught Math 115.
She is a terrible professor. She doesn't explain things very well, doesn't give out much help at all and grades based on only test scores. If you are good at tests and teaching yourself the material then this is the class for you.
this teacher is great. all throughout my 4 years at high school and taking math i never learned a thing, but when i got into this class she actually helped me understand and learn. i really recommend her shes a great teacher
Professor Snow is great! Her instructions are very clear, so is the text that she used. It's a big work book, so you can work directly in it! :) Do all of the assigned exercises and homework (+reviews) and you'll be fine! She's very nice, but don't ask "What's on the test?" She will teach you what you need to know. You're the bomb Prof Snow! :D
i personally have a problem in algebra but i think ms. snow has a unique and helpful way of teaching algebra. so far i enjoy her class and am learning algebra this time. unlike last semester i flunked ( different teacher)
Susan is awesome!!! Very interested in the subject matter!! She created her own book, which makes it under $30!! She is very helpful, and the homework goes towards EC for your tests!! Just show up and pay attention and you'll do fine!!
Ms. Snow is very knowledgeable and good teacher in the field of mathematics. She doesn't require you buy a text book, only a work packet she herself has put together that cost about $30 and in my opinion was better than a book. Homework is optional and used only as a guide to prepare you for the tests. Test are what determine your grade.
Never helped, just looked at you like "what do you mean you don't understand?" avoid!!
Very clear and thorough with the lectures. Tests are based on the reviews(almost identical). Helpful to those who pay attention during class, and are not sleeping and texting. :)
Very good teacher, way easer than others. Cheap book, made by ms. Snow. Workbook style. Four tests and a final make up your grade. Homework counts as extra credit on your tests....very helpful. Should plan on attending most Classes and math center hours aren't required. Sometimes a little mood, but who isn't? Would take another class from her!
This professor is nice. However, this class makes you teach yourself how to do everything. Which isn't a bad thing but mrs snow instructs at a fast pace. This teacher will not show you step by step procedures. If you can do math in your head-take her. Otherwise settle for a different professor that actually encourages questions.
No book, just blue binder pages that go along with her lecture, which was nice. She shows u how to work the problems then goes thru examples, then has u practice. Gives small amounts of homework - maybe 20 minutes worth. Explains everything and answers all questions or will speak with you before or after class. I loved her!
she was awsome, hard tests, but overall an outstanding professor
bring your A game. She is tough and her book is not real clear. Spent to much time trying to figure out what she wanted for homework. need to practice more problems than in the book. I passed
The reason why I took her class is because The sound of her name is beautiful. However, she was not the woman I expected. Such a strict teacher!!!
Mrs. Snow is such a great teacher! before taking her class I had failed math 50 twice. i told her my situation & she was more than helpful! she made the book used in class she knows it front to back. uses varies methods to make material understandable. homework is extra credit&its is light. test are easy just do your homework. take her class :)
For her Math 56 class, a textbook IS required, but she wrote it herself & it is very inexpensive.Homework is short & simple. (plus counts as extra credit! yay.) Tests are based of certain practice exercises also from the textbook. Overall fair grader, very nice professor, highly recommend her. good luck (:
she is an ok teacher but doesn't explain math clearly she doesn't go step by step on the problems she leaves you alone to try it yourself and if you think you have a easier way of explaining it she wont take your comment she will say her way is easier she makes everything so complicated and hard if you learn by steps then i don't take this teacher
She made her own book witch was very useful. She made everything understandable. I recommend.
Professor Snow was great! Always clear, helpful and understanding. The material was straight-forward and the text was set up like a workbook and very inexpensive.
This professor was pretty good. ALthough I wouldn't recommend for students who have trouble learning on their own. Be prepared to study! There are times where she teaches very fast paced, so be prepared to keep up. We do a majority of work through her textbook that she created. I liked this method. Overall, I enjoyed taking her class.
Snow is the best Math teacher I have ever had. She moves at a good pace, answers all questions, and is very clear about what she wants you to do in her class. She *wants* you to have at least 2 hours in the math lab every week but is very lenient. If you struggle with math, like myself, take her!
I took her class Fall of 2014 and i had a great experience. She provides her students with good notes on blackboard that helped me understand the homework assigned. All of her tests are much easier than the homework. Make sure you bring your A game because she doesn't just give good grades out. Overall i think she is more than fair.
Unclear about homework and explaining problems, very fast paced class to the point of occasionally cutting breaks short (should be 10 minutes only does 2). If you are not paying attention in class or miss a class you will be totally lost ('textbook' is just copied worksheets with little to no explanation). Strict and tough grader.
I struggled with math all through high school but this class was easy to follow. She has her own textbook which is very to the point. However you need to show up to get the instructions for the problems! So pay attention in class. Hw is simple and will be parallel to the lectures. Nothing too confusing. Good class!
She's incredibly kind, very straight-forward, and takes the time to explain what she's teaching. She created her own textbook, it's all worksheets and it's very cheap. She assigns homework, but adds the hw credit to your next test score. So if you don't do hw, it won't hurt you as long as you perform well on the test. Always attend class!
This professor uses a textbook she devised to save students money. However, it is really just problems without explanations. I had a difficult time learning from her and her textbook. It was difficult to get extra help because she wants things done a specific way. I would not take a class taught by her again.
Just take my advice, and scroll past her name, you don't want her as your professor.
Mrs. Snow, was good. NOT Very bad at teaching and clarity. If you have a question she looks at you like a cow looks at an oncoming train. She will then proceed to tell you to get "outside help", because she doesn't understand how you don't understand, because you don't have "number sense". Very derogatory towards students who ask questions BEWARE!
She does have extra credit, but only if you have the "correct algebra" by her standards will often write "problematic" on your paper, and will not give credit unless with the people around you. Even though she has no way of knowing, because she is never looking around.
She doesn't use a textbook, but uses a packet that she wrote herself, its about $30. Most of the answers of the homework and the exercises are incorrect. But when you tell her about that, she says "you should already know how to do it, you shouldn't rely on the answers" or "I'm just lazy"
She only speaks to half of the classroom, while turning her back to the other half. She stands over you to see how you're doing the work. If you ask her a question she gets irritated and you're left feeling stupid. There is total favoritism and it's obvious. If you are reading this, you wanted to know how she teaches right? DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!
I had a horrible semester with her. First off the "textbook" is her handmade version, which made it harder to study for exams because its just math problems. Also, she is overall stuck up and whenever any student would ask for help she would get frustrated and put them down. Afterwards no one would want to ask her for help because of her attitude.
This class is NOT worth taking with this teacher. She writes her own textbook, so there are no examples and the answer key does not show you how to do the problem. It only has answers. She does a lot of mental math so you are left asking her how she got the answer. Save yourself and find a different teacher.
She was tough but she is a great teacher. I have been trying to take her again but I have not seen her in the schedule.
Mrs. Snow is a tough professor but I learned a lot from her class. I would take her again.
Professor Snow is a great teacher. The class moves really fast but she gives so much help online you could theoretically pass the class without even going. If you do the homework its extra credit on the test. On blackboard she has explanations to every problem. Really great teacher, fast paced, tells you what you need to know. Would take again.
Prof Snow is probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. Her teaching style is very simple, if you ask questions she will answer them clearly. She made the "textbook'. Homework is considered EC and grades are based on tests. Would recommend her to anyone who needs a refresher in Algebra or anyone really struggling.
I liked her class because there was a lot of repetition when it came to math problems and I seemed to remember the concepts a lot better because of it. She can be dispassionate at times, but it personally made me work harder because I felt as though I needed to prove her wrong. Basically, if you work well with repetition and spite, take her class.
Professor Snow teaches by working though the problems in a way that is easy to understand. I am not a math person but I did well in this class and if I could take her for all my math classes I would! The textbook isn't really a textbook, it is just worksheets she has compiled, so it is useful. And if you need help, she is always willing to help.
Very good teacher. Her own textbook which is a amazing just have to put it in a blinder and already set up. Kinda goes to fast when doing problems but just have to keep up. Yes I see her get upset when people show up late to class. To be honest it's just rude to show up late anyway. I would take her again.
The best math prof ever. I have never had an A in math until her class. Definitely recommend.
Great teacher would take her again she helps a lot and make you understand the topic. Also helps you if you are stuck in a problem also If you didn't understand the homework. I would recommend this professors for those who take math 50 also math textbook is so cheap so you won't spend a lot of money.
The perfect professor. Answers ALL questions about homework & practice problems. Tests are the only graded assignments & homework is extra credit. Tests based completely off homework. Willing to help if extra help is needed. Has detailed notes on ALL textbook sections on Canvas. If you don't get an A, it's not her, it's you.
Not only will you have to buy a textbook off campus with your own money that financial aid does not cover, but she is very hard to keep up with and once she's said it once, it done and over with. Moving on.
Professor Snow does not use a text book, all the material is on line. If you print it you have a better chance. The test grades is all you are graded on. So show up or not, up to you. She really cares if you learn the material, if you care. I am not strong in Math, I did all the homework and printed the material and I got a B.
Professor Snow is amazing. I struggle so much with Math and she pulled me through. She is the kind of Professor that can teach to a class full of different types of learners. This made a world of difference for me. She is extremely patient and caring. She is motivational and fun. I appreciate all that she did for me. I enjoyed her class. Thank you
I'm a student who has difficulties in math. having this professor in my math 54 it was a challenge for me because sometimes I had to cry after her class, she gets frustration very easy and when she's not in a good mood she acts very rude, I was afraid to ask questions because her attitude was scared me, I didn't feel free to ask her for help.
Professor Snow is an exceptional professor. I was apprehensive about taking a math class that is fully online, as the subject has never been my strong suit. However, she provides so many resources for you in order to ensure you are successful. She responds to emails promptly and explains everything clearly and effectively. You can't ask for more.
Professor Snow was awful. She only wants you to do math her way, or the highway. Even if you have learned it in other areas, and done fairly well, she wants you to do it the way her videos do it. Every math teacher I know says that everyone learns differently, and however you get to the right answer, fine. Not her. Do not recommend.
She was incredible. Im horrible at math in general it is my least favorite subject. When getting ready for taking a 6 week summer session for algebra I was so nervous but I look back and I thank her so much. She was the best professor and is very straightforward (in a good way) and helpful.
Incredibly rude & short tempered when u ask questions during lecture. She wants u to do math only her way. Feedback is terrible & makes her own math book. If math isn't ur strong suit she's not the professor for u as she is impatient & will blow a gasket if u need help or ask questions. If math is easy for u & don't need much help you might survive
She's extremely rude and only wants you to do math her way & makes her own ridiculous book. & she gets really rude & angry when you ask questions for help. Don't take her if math isn't your strong suit or you don't catch on as quick. She's impatient & rude. Don't know how she still has a job.
