Fun and entertaining. A little off her rocker but it keeps things interesting. Tests very resonable. Study guides good. Lecture little tough, but OK. Obviously passionate about subject matter and cares about students.

Swan's lectures dont really help on the tests. The tests are a few ID's and two essays. She talks about a few of the ID terms, but nowhere near all of them. This makes for a long study time. Not the worst class, but not the greatest either.

Her tests can be a bit tricky and her lecutures are boring. If you go to class on a regular basis and go to her office hours she is always willing to help.

3 main exams, 4, map quizzes, 2 journal writes, 1 library research project. pretty simple, just be sure to study for the tests well in advance, i wouldnt buy the book with the poems in it though, only used it two times this semester...

Swan was easy! if you study for exams..you should be ok..2 essays questions and 5 ID's that you must do. map quizes are super easy too...the exams require a lot of time..so don't start night b4 otherwise you are SOL!

Dr. Swan is a very energetic and peculiar lady. Her lectures are extremely boring, but she doesn't assign ANY homework. The only work we had was studying for the tests and map quizzes, and one libary project. I would definitley recommend her for Gened.

Swan is tons of fun---too much to handle first thing in the morning! I did learn a lot from her, and her work load was pretty light. I'd reccomend her if you can follow disorganized lectures and don't mind a sense of humor

I'll have to agree that her lectures are disorganized, but I did find them interesting. An easy A if you use her study guides and study. She's also HILARIOUS and highly entertaining. Especially when she interjects her political views into every topic.

The tests are NOT comprehensive! The study guides that she gives out are EXACTLY what she put on the exam, so read and you will get an A If you go she will give you extra credit, oh and by the way if you take her classes consecutavily you get a better grade the second time b/c she will remember you!

The classes were boring but I liked Swan. You don't need to take notes unless you feel it will help you. Her class journals werent hard, her map quizzes were extremely easy, and for her tests all you have to do is follow her study guide and you should do well.

She talks fast and really gives a quick overview of the readings. Do the readings and the tests are a piece of cake. Her tests are incredibly comprehensive and require a lot of studying and attendance is manditory but you get extra credit if you miss less than 2 or 3 I think. She's a little crazy.

I had her for both Geneds. Funny prof...in a weird way. map quizes are a joke, journal writings are fairly easy. her exams(2/3 of your grade) are given to you on a study guide a week ahead. I spent 6 hrs each semester total to get an A. also, adds 5% to your final grade if you show up.

OK Swan alright funny teacher, everything is super easy but 3 long exams. Heinz is the best!

Attend class and you will be fine. She takes roll and if you were there most of the time you will get a B or better for sure. She is a rad old lady too. Easy to talk to, and if you do it will also help your grade.

I rarely get A's but i got an A in her class. Easy homework, quizzes and participation bonuses make for easy points. Exams do require at least a few days of studying but she gives you the exam questions before hand making it easy to study for exams. Also a very nice woman who always makes time to answer questions and concerns.

She is Rediculously Crazy! Everyone remember the picture she puts up the first day of class? "Not a duck, Not a Goose, but a Swan" OMG CRAZY! Oh, she's a pretty good teacher to have for GenEd though.

Incredibly easy. Gives you all test questions 2 weeks in advance. Extra Credit for attendence. If you get a B average on tests/assignements, and don't skip much class, easy A.

EASY!!! Just study the study guides. Assignements take about 5 minutes, tops. Reading textbook unimportant, but useful for tests. Keep up in the lit readings, though!

She is a very nice teacher. Everyone talks about her dancing and singing but that is part of the class to wake everyone up. However I do not like how she just has random words on Microsoft Word version which dates back past Windows 95. She gives extra credit to show up and lectures are "okay". She is a very nice lady who really cares about her class. I've never seen a more peppy teacher. It's worth it to go to class just to see her dance. Other than that the lectures are fairly useless. Her visual aid is a jumble of words on a screen which is difficult but as long as you study for the tests you should be fine.

Very nice teacher. Took attendance for credit everyday. Kind of weird...would dance and sing to music. Explained things a little too quickly for notes. Her tests were alright. They were long but she gave the exact test for practice a week before. If it weren't for the TA I wouldn't have gotten an A in both 110 and 111.

Swan is great- sings and dances in class and loves the topics she lectures on. Gives you everything you need to know before quizzes and exams. Takes attendance for extra credit at the end of the semester. Lectures are for her pleasure, just go and study for other classes, she doesn't care as long as you're there. Highly recommended!!

She is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, but I had no interest in world history and her lectures jump from one time period to the next. The one paper and quizzes are easy and it's not necessary to attend class as long as you MAKE SURE you get all the STUDY GUIDES! Everything you need to know to pass this class is on them.

This class is easy. My final grade should've been a B+ or sth but I ended up getting an A probably because she gave me extra credits for attending most of her lectures. Map quizzes are piece of cake, paper isn't too bad, exams are doable as long as you show you know what you're talking about in your essay. Unfortunately, I think she's retired now.

Explained and presented class material in a clear, concise and enjoyable manner. Grading was fair, was helpful and the class itself was super easy!
