She makes the classes tonnes of fun! really funny, and a great personality!
so much fun. a really good teacher.
very funny and interesting. loves horses. tests are average. classes are fun no matter what time of day. get her as a psych teacher if you can.
Easy tests, difficult papers. Interesting lectures. Good sense of humour. Very professional.

essay papers about movies, multiple choice tests, really fun class, not much work...I got an A+ what more can you ask for in a teacher
This class is awesome. Susan is so funny and entertaining, she knows how to make the best of a boring topic.
if you can get past her wacky humour, her constant put downs of astrology and other spiritual concepts, and her repetitious babble about horses, she's a fantastic teacher. very explanatory (on most things)
Very good prof. There are some dry topics in this class about how the brain works, but Susan will go the extra mile to make it more interesting, and always reviews things that you had done the class before. Makes the whole class time interesting.
quite easy if u pay attention, take notes, the tests are quite simple
Extremeley easy...papers are done on watching movies of your chioce
very fun teacher, but never available during her office hours.
If you want to read the book yourself, then take her. Also, if you want her to talk to you just sit in the first row of the class. Altough she is not a good teacher, but she is a nice person.
I loved this class, it was so interesting and Susan is such a great teacher. She totally explains things well and makes the class entertaining and fun.
Susan has been one of my favourite psych teachers, she is alot of fun, and makes class so enjoyable.
Excellent Instructor! Very nice person, fair marker, and very helpful and NICE!!!
very funny...she talks about horses A LOT!!! fairly good prof, easy too.
She is a great teacher. She is funny, witty and relates well with her students. If you don't like teachers who talk a lot about their personal lives, then shes not the one for you. The tests are basic and if you show up to class, you'll do well!
I highly recommend this teacher. VERY EASY. Makes PSYC intresting, has a great sense of humour and there's NO FINAL EXAM (replaced by 4 smaller tests...NOT CUMULATIVE!!)! and she tells you in advance the short answer questions that'll appear on tests.
Tests are very easy, study from the text for m.c q's, and study notes from class for essay questions. She marks essay questions for details. Very Easy and good teacher.
Excellent prof! She is extremely clear, reviews previous material every class, humerous, fairly easy exams, gives examples, fair marker! nothing bad to say here! Take her class!
THE worst teacher i have had while ever attending kwantlen, if u like reading 100 pages in the textbook per week then this is the class to take, also dont ever think about missing any classes because she doesnt let u make up tests nor hand in lates. Ever.

She's great!I liked her class a lot.Take it!Her family life stories r cute(re: relations/husband & his family)I left w/A+ - she's more than fair. Def recomend her class/course. Take it! But I heard some people dropped/failed-can't figure WHY.Learn&dofine.
Makes lectures interesting. Pretty easy marker and tests are easy. She's a bit disorganized at times. For the first time in two years, this is a class where I learned material and can apply it later down the road! Money well spent!!!
Fairly easy, but she picks on favorites, nice to those who like to suck up. Treats the class fair, but on individual basis, she can be rude, and impatient. These characteristics reflect in her emails as well. I don’t recommend such a teacher.
Makes PSYC intresting, has a great sense of humour and there's NO FINAL EXAM, m/c are pretty much from the study quide and text, and she tells you in advance the short answer questions that'll appear on tests. She also help you out with the essay paper!
Great teacher. Covers material in ways you can remember for tests. She is funny, class goes by fast and exams are pretty basic. I recommend taking her course.
Is good to her favorites and is quite rude to everyone else. Tries to be funny.Gives marks back late and is snappy and short if you ask for additional help/explanations.She gives unclear directions and penalizes you for it.
Mean & sarcastic. She makes fun of people's mistakes infront of the whole class. Did not like her one bit.
Susan is great. There are 3 labs which take about 5 mins each and are worth 15% each, also there are 3 tests which cover material from only three chapters (low stress) and it is based on the study guide. this class is a breeze, and i highly recomend it!

Susan is an absolutely awful teacher. The subject matter itself is not bad at all, but Susan makes that class horrible. While lecturing she seems okay, but when you talk to her she's mean, rude and sarcastic. She's not helpful at all. Don't take her classes.
i hardly saw how any of her ramblings tied in with anything in chapters at all. her tests are m/c and short answer but you must read every SINGLE detail in order to get a decent mark. i don't recommend her at all.
Worst teacher I ever had. She gave our class the worst marks, but her other 1200 class got great marks. She has favorites. Very unclear on what shes looking for, then tells you what she wanted after shes dont marking it.Takes a long time marking. She so rude and dosent help.DONT TAKE HER.
this woman is not a good teacher! she is obsessed with horses, she always gets off topic with lame stories from her life, she makes you do a final project where you have to get up and act out a skit infront of the class, and she thinks shes funny but she really is not!
the best teacher I have ever had, extremely easy, questions on the test come from class work, and overall amazing teacher, if your interested in psych
sarcastic and unhelpful..group presentations worth 15%, can and will bring down mark...what do skits have to do with psyc? got a c on a group presentation b/c the skit was weak..wtf?..was qirky at first, then got annoying..not the absolute worst but definitely do NOT reccomend taking a course w/ her
OMG ........I don't like her at all .........u need to take notes on ur own ....no hand-outs ...suggest to stay away from her !!~
She is not a very helpful teacher, her labs are very easy, and don't take long at all. Otherwise shes not helpful, she has her favorites, her tests are not that bad as long as you come to class and really listen to what she is saying. NOT HELPFUL
The class is easy, but she's not helpful AT ALL, and speaks to students with a very snide, condescending tone. Definitely would not recommend her.
Stay away!! She is so annoying with her dumb horse stories! Totally bases her marks for students whether she likes them or not - not fair at all!!!!! Do not take her!
Honesty, she is a nice person, she has a great personality and she has a good sense of humor. However, she doesnt give you clear notes! Taking notes from her lectures is not enough to get a A. She needs to improve her classes by giving clear, to the point, overhead notes in addition to her lectures.
Great teacher, gives tons of real examples to all of the theories/concepts. Nice, honest, able to give you help. Her notes could be better, although they are very direct, just read the textbook to supplement her notes.
She's querky. About 4 midterms with MC and short answer worth 15%, 2 papers worth 5% each, a group presentation worth 20% but marked out of 10 (wtf?!), 2 labs worth 5% and no final. She lectures, doesn't give you notes and writes down a word or two on the board. Good teacher, but presentation was BS
Very good professor. She's always energetic making learning easy. Explains things very thoroughlly. Exams are easy if you read the book and review weekly. Easy course and a great professor.
Lectures are pretty good if you listen and if you can write fast enough. However, she thinks she's funny and makes jokes about her horses, her successful life, her husband, blah blah every single class. Is very scarcastic if you ever ask her questions.
Great prof, interesting class. Tests are easy if you study and can use recognition, even better recalling. She does bring in many examples from her life which DO relate to the material. The ppl who complain are likely the same ones who can't stay in a class longer than the dropout date. Stop taking seats up for ppl who can actually succedinthecourse
Seems like you either love 'er or hate 'er. A fun prof - laid back and cares more about the students than the rules. And tells great stories :)
I do not care your horses, husband, in-laws. Please shut-up and teach the course instead of telling stupid stories. I came to learn. Unhelpful at times, although a nice person.
You're guarnteed an A if you just come to lecture and read the text. Although she is easy and a very good instructor, she is VERY unhelpfull outside of class, and is very rash and uncaring when it comes to her students. She should REALLY stop talking about her horses.
Great prof, very funny and always has some interesting pesonal stories that do relate to the material. Tests are easy if you study. Take her, class wil be a breeze.
I learned more about her parents, nice husband, weed smoking brother, pretty horses and troubled teenagers working at her stables than about the course itself from her. Took almost 95% of my knowledge out of reading the text. Unhelpful after class, goes off topic in class. Not very nice to students. Not clear on projects etc. STAY AWAY.
I also do not care about horses, husband, or stories past about your adolescence, and it is not okay to lose a student's assignment ( i felt bad for the poor student...) Its a fairly straighforward course tho, so even with all that commotion, u'll still manage everything on ur own. Ur textbook is ur best friend.
Tremendously unhelpful, and possibly mentally unstable. One of the worst professors I've ever had.
No joke, all she talks about are her dumb horses and her husband. Definitely has favorites, and is very rude to those who are not her favorites. Doesn't care how well you do. Her tests are super hard, she picks the hardest and most obscure questions. If you read and MEMORIZE the ENTIRE text, ALL her lectures & kiss lots of a*s, you might do ok.
really unfriendly, she thinks shes super hip and funny, but its painful to watch, not to mention pointless. Is happy with you just barely passing. CLEARLY has fave's She really does talk about horses all the time -and i wouldn't disagree with the comment about her being a little unstable!!
The only low-down on S. thompson u need: One of the most interesting, entertaining and insightful prof's i've had to date. However, she DOES favor. All my midterm marks were bellow an A minus , yet I finished the class with an A. Her midterms are not easy, but who's are? Honestly, if you've come to school to learn interesting matterial, take her.
She isn't the most helpful, but classes are ALWAYS interesting. You MUST and I stress MUST, do the readings. 95% of the exam material comes straight from the text book! As someone has suggested, she might be kind of crazy, but I think it's endearing and a trait of all PhD's.
Pretty good teacher. Makes lectures interesting. Fair marker. Isn't overly friendly. Make sure to follow her criteria (which is clearly outlined) and study her notes hard, and the text and you should do fine. But hey, that's just common sense right?

Susan had good lectures, she was enthusiastic when she talked. I was disappointed, however, from the essays and the lack of instruction she gave, along with high expectations when marking them. midterms were fairly difficult as well.
Susan was pretty arrogant and unhelpful. I got a B+ in her class but she is extremely unhelpful. I would take her but read the textbook..its exactly whats on the test because she doesnt do notes. Attend class too cuz the little written part of the midterms are based on class stuff.
She is not very helpful, but i think she has interesting stories. She does not give you notes, so you HAVE TO read the text to get a good grade, but attend her class because her lectures are things that she will test you on with the written portions of her test. Her test are not really test you on the details of the text that don't seem important.
I hear everyone when they say she is very unhelpful. Everytime i ask her a question about our h/w or test after class, it always seems like she's under a time limit where she'll speak to you for about a minute and she'll leave. NOT A GOOD TEACHER
If you do (for some reason) decide to take this class make sure you throughly read the text because her test outlines are useless. And study her lectures as well, as she usually uses the material for short answer questions. Not to mention she's unstable, annoying and sarcastic. And not funny at all.
She has many interesting experiences to draw from and uses them very well, as supplements in class. You definitely need to read and remember the textbook, but you should in any class, so no big deal.
Interesting teacher, has many experiences that she talks about in class. Tests are fairly easy but you MUST read (and memorize) your textbook to do well. One short paper, presentation explaining paper and a few labs. Assignments are very easy.
She's a really easy marker on the presentation and short paper. The written parts of her midterms are the easiest things in the world, straight from class notes (that are ALSO in the text book), but the M/C are hard, you have to REALLY read and know the text book readings and the strangest little details. Labs- show up, automatic 15% !!!
Relatively fair, definitely has her favourites though. Study her in-class notes for the tests as they are the written answers. DO THE STUDY GUIDE FROM THE TEXT CHAPTERS in the book, I can't stress that enough - some M/C questions are straight from there. Labs - just use textbook terminology and you'll do fine. I got an A+ Managable work load.
An extremely good Prof. Clear on what she expects from her students, fair marker. Study the textbook, and do your study plans online. Very helpful, and quite funny. I think the comments here really reflect the abilities or grades. Try your hardest and do your work. Of course the Prof doesn't accept late work-you should just DO your work. Duh.
shes an okay teacher. class was one paper, group presentation, and three midterms. not bad but kinda marks a lil hard on s/a's. test was mc and like 2-3 s/a's no essays. I just found she was not that friendly sometimes or helpful but other than that its an easy class
Course wasa easy enough, however prof isnt very nice. She isnt approachable or even interested in her students. I felt that she talked too much about herself and it got annoying. Like I said though, course is easy.
She's a really nice and fair marker! She loves psychology and has a passion for it! Very helpful and approachable! Class goes by pretty fast! Ended up with an A- and went to class only a few times!
tests really easy. really clear on what shes expecting on them also. shows a lot of fun videos in class and her short answer questions are almost always on these videos.she does get off topic really easily tho, and it gets pretty boring listening to her after like 30 minutes and her assignments/projects arent that clear either. wont take her again
Need to really study to do well, and make sure to complete online assignments. Majority marks are lost there because people forget.
Great class. Very interesting and Susan keeps you engaged. If she sees the class more interested in one topic than another she will stay on that one topic. She is fair and if you actually read the text and come to class, you will do well!
She is funny and friendly. She will leave the textbook reading to you and give notes in lectures. These notes are essential to mid terms!!
Susan is not a good professor. She is very rude with students and isn't very clear. She keeps on talking about how she has many things to do (i.e. horse riding) and that we should be the same. She tries to be funny, but she clearly fails. Do not take her!
She knows how to keep students intrigued and for good reason. PAY ATTENTION TO LECTURE. Her exams area breeze as long as you pay attention. She can be a little rude, but that's her personality. Read the textbook, listen to lecture, keep your discussion to the point, and you'll survive with no problem.
her lectures are alot of fun, get to do cool labs, however her exams are brutal the multiple choice kills me. You must attend lectures because the short answer questions are things only discussed in class. Overall good prof but hard course.
She was a good prof overall. Attendance was crucial because it was a big part of exams. She is rather strict but she knows what she is talking about. Tests are not hard if you attend class.
Susan is an awesome prof! This class was a good gpa booster. 4 midterms NO final, 2 project assignments which were super easy. Just attend class, take your notes and you'll doe fine! I would recommend this prof to anyone:)
Really rude professor and unhelpful. You get your marks based on her attitude that day. I would not recommend her at all.
NEVER EVER TAKING HER CLASS AGAIN!!!! SHE IS FUNNY DURING LECTURE,THATS ABOUT IT. HER TESTS ARE AS HARD AS 3RD YEAR CHEMISTRY QUESTIONS!!VERY HARD MARKER, HER TESTS ARE COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO WHAT SHE TEACHES IN CLASS!!
I'm an average student, ranging from A's to B's but she's the one teacher who can make a student feel stupid. She is VERY rude! She's fine when she teaches & laughs a lot at her not so funny jokes. Her tests are pretty easy is u study the text book & attendance is key since the tests are based on discussions in class. Average class, sucky teacher
Awesome prof !! Would take any class she teaches.
I loved this professor, shes hilarious, even though people think shes rude, have a sense of humor! Great prof though, just show up to class, write down what she says then your set for the written section of exams. The m/c is from the text. Lots of ways to get your mark higher like from the online quizzes 15% for completion!
When she lectures, she seems friendly. But when you go talk to her privately, whether it's an assignment question or sthg about the textbook, she comes off as surprisingly cold and condescending. Workload in her class is pretty light and easy in general, but if you're not a "favorite" of hers, she might grade you tougher on the MyDevptLab project.
This professor is unclear when teaching. Tends to go off topic. Tests include absolutely everything in the textbook. She doesn't like to helo students after class.
Not clear instructions for papers. Mostly self taught. Do not recommend this instructor to fellow students. Fair marker.
Looking back to my first semester at Kwantlen and this professor made me hate it. She was rude and unclear on pretty much everything. Do not even ask any questions unless you want her to embarrass you in front of the class by making you feel stupid. I would never ever take a class with her again. Do not take her!
Do not recommend her to psychology students.
her exam have 30 MC and 2 short answers. She is really nice. she is helpful. You need to attend class, her exam short answers is based on her lecture notes, if you attend class, you can get good mark. She is easy, if you attend lab you get 15% and do all homework give 15% and mark easily for presentation ( worth 15%). I like this class.
she is nice. her exam is based on her lecture notes. some people like her because of her teaching clear. but some people don't like her because of she sometimes cold to others. but overall is good marker. she is not bad.
Willing to help lecture notes is really important for your exam,so must show up in class. give lots of bonus mark.
Her classes were enjoyable, her tests.. not so much. It is a must that you read her textbook to get a decent grade, some of her questions ask for specific percentages taken from the textbook. She loves to laugh at her own stories, but besides her tests I didn't have an issue with her class.
She does not go over material on midterms and does not provide an outline of what is needed. She also comes off really condescending when you try asking her questions.
All in all, she is a great professor. She is very clear cut about what she wants, and she makes her lectures relate to real-world scenarios, and they are funny! However, you have to read the textbook chapters in detail, which sucks cause they are long. and attend lectures because her tests are based on her lectures and the chapters in the book.
Horrible teacher. She laughs at her own jokes and is not helpful AT ALL! All she does is talk about how she was such a bad university student back in the day but now she has her PHD lol..... Only take her if you absolutely have to!!!!! She makes her own exams and they are super hard! Easy marker for class project but other than that DO NOT TAKE HER
For a first year class, she has no sympathy for her students. She has a 3 hour lecture and literally only goes through a couple things when her mid terms are based on everything in the chapter. I don't find her helpful either as she doesn't help students do a make up assignment to boost up their grades. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER, HORRIBLE TEACHER!
Lots of people say that she's very unclear, but if you pay attention on the first day she says that her exams are 60 multiple choice and 2 short answer. Read the textbook for the multiple choice and the short answer is literally from her lectures. Not a bad class, Got an A+ because I did exactly what she said, read the textbook and go to class!
She's unfriendly, rude, and ignorant. She doesn't explain anything clearly and doesn't go over 90% of what is on the exams. I would not recommend her at all. Honestly, save yourself the stress and anxiety and pick a better rated professor.
Honestly she was so rude to some people. like she never gave u an outline on what the midterm would look like. she was very fast and never slowed down for us to take notes on her lessons. i just found it really hard to learn from her
an ok prof.
She is one smart, amazing woman. I can't say enough of how much she cares and how practical she is when it comes to lectures. Brings lots of real life examples to explain the concepts and uses many good videos. There were moments that she brought tears to my eyes teaching about the problems that some adolescents face. I absolutely loved her class.
MUST READ susan is terrible!!!!! if you are a first year student DO NOT take her!!!!! i read stuff from here thinking she wont be too bad. NO JOKE the midterm are terrible!!!! i studied so much and it didnt really help!!! barley passing right now. Her lectures arent long and DOESNT HELP FOR THE TEST!!! DO NOT TAKE HER!!
Susan is a pretty nice prof and she marks clearly. She's organized, and if you read your syllabus, read the text, and take notes in class, then you'll do well! Just don't be a lazy bum! Got an A+ no problem! Would take again.
By far one the worst Psych profs at kpu. Instructions are not clear and her lectures do not make sense. She spends class time talking about her horses and how she was a reblious teen. Often humiliates presenters for no good reason. Save your money and time, take someone else.
My friend and I looked her up and thought how bad could it be but her midterm questions are ridiculously hard, studying the textbook won't help. Her lectures are so off topic and it's basically self-taught. She suggests to take the online practice quizzes when you're studying for a midterm but they do not help at all. DO NOT TAKE HER.
Susan teaches nothing in her lectures. She only talks about her days as a wild teen. It is self taught. There is 1 group presentation. There are 3 midterms (all mc but not easy, lectures wont help because you didnt learn anything). There are online assignments due almost every Friday that take up many hours.
I just physically, mentally, emotionally cannot do this class. How I thought I would enjoy psychology so much, this prof has made me hate it. Barely goes over anything in the textbook. Instructions for the one group presentation is so unclear. For some reason has a big thing against charts in presentations. Will humiliate students if possible.
I wish time travel was a thing so I could go back in time just to avoid Susan. I hope someone reports how rude and disrespectful she is so future students can avoid traumatizing experiences.
I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. Get into a good group and you'll do well for the group project. Her exams were multiple choice and one long written answer. Her multiple choice is tricky but as long as you read the textbook you'll do fine. She gives hints as to what the long answer might be before the exam so take good notes.
she's a horrible prof I had to retake pysch 1100 because she doesn't know how to teach, whereas I retook it and did amazing on my tests. her lectures were super random and didn't give anything that she taught. lectures didn't make any sense. thinks she's hilarious. dont think I learnt anything in her class.
Midterms are all multiple choices with bonus marks available. Do not bother speaking up in class because even if you have the correct answer, she will find a way to humiliate and belittle you. She talks about 10% of what will actually be tested every lecture. She thinks she is above you and looks down on you even if you're an A student. F.
Words cannot describe how terrible this class was. Lectures were all over the place and half of the information was not even relevant. Does not hesitate to humiliate students in class. I stopped going to class part way through the term for this reason. Doesn't post notes either but tests are only based on the text.
Stay away!!! Save yourself the trouble and find a different prof who will explain the material clearly. Somehow barely passing this course but do well in all my others... I think I learnt more about horses and her crazy teenage years than the course itself.
Would say dont waste your time and find another professor. Extremely hard marker, doesnt explain anything (only her child hood) and mostly its a self taught class. The quizzes are very difficult mostly because you have to teach yourself.
She doesnt explain the criteria clearing and mostly self taught. She talks a lot about her teenage years and kinda makes its a waste to show up. The quizzes are super difficult same with exams.
I have taken Susan now twice and absolutely love her. If you read the textbook and pay attention in class then you should have no problem. She gives you ideas as to what the two short answer questions on the exam could be. Pay attention to details for the multiple choice and you will be fine. Textbook is mandatory. She marks assignments very fairly
replies by email, very funny the myvirtualchild lab took forever though
Read the textbook for exams and pay attention to details and attend lectures and you will do fine. Susan marks very easy for papers and does not require much of you during lectures aside from listening. She gives hints as to what the long answer questions are on the final so attend all classes. Just don't be lazy! Must read all textbook chapters!
Took her class during COVID, so the class was online, which I feel she wasn't prepared for. No online lectures, no supplemental info, nothing. It felt like she was very uninvolved and her only purpose was to assign and grade our papers. She relied heavily on the online textbook's features, too. I felt like I taught myself this semester.
I took this intro class and due to Covid it was all online. I was expecting similar to my other classes recorded lectures, etc. Unfortunately this course relied on reading the textbook there was no lectures whatsoever. I dont think Dr. Thompson was involved at all would send cryptic emails back and that was it. Basically taught myself
The class was super easy. There was only 1 class activity 2 papers and 3 "midterms." There all chapter based, but its limited time for the questions given. plus side is, its all mc. papers were supper easy to do and the activity was fun and easy. You have to read the textbook, her lecture slides are not enough for her tests.
I took her class online due to COVID. You basically each yourself as she does not post any lecture videos and her power points a very minimal with not a lot of information. Her class isn't hard, you just have to put the work in. Test are all mc however, limited time is given. Her assignments are also very easy. Over all its an ok course
Her exams are pretty easy but the marking for the bigger essays is really tough. I followed her instructions from her feedback in my essays and still got a bad mark. In her emails after she marks the essays shes really unprofessional and basically congratulates those who did well and ridicules those who did not. I personally would not take again.
She was amazing. The course load was extremely manageable, along with being interesting. 3 midterm/exams but if you read the textbook, you'll do great. Overall, a good class to take and manage with other courses.
Having this prof and having the school hire and keep her made consider changing schools, which I did this Fall. That pretty much sums it up. No lectures and even though you follow the syllabus and send papers in for drafts she will still give mediocre marks. Could have went to the library and learned myself. Do not take if you care about grades.
Dr. Thompson is a fantastic prof. She is very understanding of technical issues for online courses and puts effort into throughly answering questions. Always quite prompt when replying to emails. All tests are MC, however youre allowed very little time to complete them. Her Moodle is also crazy organized; super easy to follow.
I took Psyc 2320 & 2321 with her. Does not give constructive feedback. Does not know how to use Moodle. Midterms are 40min for 60 MCQ. The only good thing is that she answers fast to emails. I would not take her again unless you are ready to work hard on your own. I wanted to like her but she does not help..
I really wish there was more interaction with her and other students through forum posts or video lectures. It felt like I was just learning all alone and it would have been nice to be able to connect with other students. I don't feel like I learned that much in this particular class
Course had 2 midterms and a cumulative final (12 chapters), all multiple choice with very little time (40 minutes for 60 questions) if questions were short it would have been ok but they weren't. Had two assignments which weren't until after the first midterm. Very unhelpful for actually learning the textbook material. Lecture slides were useless.
She is a nice professor. You need to read the textbook in order to do well; her slides do not have enough information for the test. Basically, read the textbook on your own and go write the exam.
Tough class with exams that don't give enough time to showcase what you've learned. Lecture slides weren't helpful, but the textbook was crucial. Luckily, tools like Unstuck AI and study sessions made it easier to prepare.
One of the worst profs I've had. The one assignment is graded extremely critically/unfairly as if to act as a buffer so that attaining an A or A+ isn't a total cake walk..2 midterms, a final and points for doing the work in the online textbook...really easy but poor learning experience, total lack of helpful feedback. Her lectures were also useless
Has no lecture material does not show more than a video in classes thats it does not help prepare for exams just says read chapters 12-14 for example you have to work very hard and long hours to understand and do well on the midterms because she does not teach only bonus is the midterms only worth 10 percent each so u can get a good overall grade.
Has boring and useless PowerPoint for each chapter, you have to read every chapter on your own time. Your grade is weighed with 1 heavy assignment worth a good chunk of grade, with 3 midterms. She is a very hard marker, who "marks on the effort put in to an assignment rather than the quality of the paper." Would not suggest taking her
My opinion of her is neutral as she is a good person but a terrible professor as her lectures contribute to barely anything on tests and homework. For the entire class I had to learn everything through the textbook because the lectures were practically worthless. If you want every cent you spend on a class to be worth it, do not take her classes.
She is a nice person however she spent 3 hours lecture time on just 6 slides out of the 36 slides for the exam, expected us to already know the material beforehand and didn't really "teach" she instead used that time to talk about the 2 documentaries that were not on the exam. I feel bad not going but bffr 3 hour transit + 3 hour wasted on class :(
Here's the thing, very nice lady, but her lectures SUCK. I've stopped going because they are genuinely so useless. She talks about everything but our material. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is from the textbook. Skip the lecture and use that time on the textbook + MindTap. Easy tests, lectures are just actually the worst I've ever seen.
Out of 10 classes, I saw her only 5 times (I never skipped). None of her lectures was useful. She doesn't give information about the midterms except chapters you need to read and just use critical thinking. All you needed to do was do MindTaps, labs, and assignments. Waste of time.
Her class was okay, she can be funny at times and will give interesting examples but doesn't focus on test material very well. She is also a little bit disorganized. Three midterms which were ok in difficulty but mostly based on the textbook and a pretty easy paper to write for the end of the semester.
course is textbook-heavy, if you enjoy reading and teaching yourself this could be a great course. Her lectures in my opinion are useless, and she is rude. I had one zoom call with her and that left me scared to reach out to her again. You're graded by exams and 1 paper/draft, pretty much.
She doesn't teach anything in the class. You have to study everything on your own. Do not take psych 1200 from her
Set up a meeting to go over a paper throughout the meeting she was disrespectful, cut me off multiple times and said "What are you even saying?" Never had a prof that was so rude and hard to get a hold of. was understanding of a missed exam and offered compensation. DID NOT GIVE ME MY BONUS CREDIT MARKS emailed her multiple times does NOT respond.
offers sona research credit but does NOT apply it to your actual grade, waste of time completing it.
