Very nice teacher whose teaching style is marvelous!
The material is very intimidating, but she's a wonderful teacher. She is very approachable and willing to answer questions.
I hate math it takes me 20 min to figure out the tip on a restaurant bill. I aced stats because of this prof's superior teaching abilities. everything was explained in the simplest way possible. She was clear and concise and available for help.
I've never had a better math experience than when I took statistics with this professor. I'm not all that great at math, but I aced her class--not because it was too easy, but because she taught so well.
She is amazing. She is one of my favorite profs at this school. She is very clear and helpful.
on of the best profs i have ever had. i was so scared of taking stats but she explained everything so clearly. for every exam i felt that she had prepared us more than enough. she really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. she is overall just a wonderful professor.
I dreaded going to this class every day. The lectures were incredibly boring and the mini projects were just a good way to waste your time. The tests were tricky and the test averages were never above a C, so why did she never curve? Don't spend $85 on the book, you will never need it. Avoid her
Great Prof. I have always hated math, and well I still do. However she does wonders with stats. I actually understood most of it and class was enjoyable. If you get the chance take her.
all i remember is that she talks about her cats a lot. apparently she has like 80 of them. That and i got an A without showing up to class too often.
Very very easy. I had an A so I didn't have to take the final, or show up to the last week of class. Don't ask her to write a reccommendation for you though, she'll accept, and then forget.
She was a great teacher and was really clear when explaining the material. I would definitely recommend her. It helps to go to class often, but it's not that hard to make it through the hour every day. Don't buy the book-you never use it. The way she talks kind of reminds me of a flight attendent or something. Shes a good teacher
The most cold-hearted teacher at OU. My grandmother died and I had to fly to Connecticut for the funeral. The trips days included the day of our first test. I told her I would make the test up as soon as I get back, but she told me she doesnt do makeups. Deffinatly one of the biggest jerk moves ever pulled in world history. My gpa fell b/c this
Haven't taken a math class since my junior year of high school (4 yrs. ago) and I still got an A. Very clear and understandable, and made a difficult subject for me very easy. Talks about her 234 cats a lot, and her son, but that spices up the otherwise dull subject.
I love this teacher! She's definitely my favorite right now. She explains things VERY thoroughly and is very organized.
GO TO THE EXAM REVIEWS!! they help a TON. she is there to clear anything up and go over anything you need help with
spends too much time on extremely simple concepts and speeds through difficult parts of problems. the review sessions did not help- i'm horrible at math but pulled a C.
Love her. Probably wouldn't have gotten an A with any other teacher. She's so nice and makes sure everyone understands. Go to class and she'll explain everything in a really simple manner.
Pretty easy, lectures arn't too bad, someimes it is funny. she has mini projects and a couple tests, all realtivley easy. GO TO CLASS, the best way. I did not find the study sessions any good, the man who does them is useless. She sometimes cancles her office house without telling anyone... nice.
If you go to class, you'll do fine. She and her TAs grade the projects/exams/presentation really harshly. Study for Exam 2!!!
One of the best teachers I've ever had!!! She is SOOO organized, intelligent and helpful! LOVED this class! :)
LOVED HER! She was the reason i got an A in the class. She was so incredibly helpful and nice. She made sure everyone understood what she was teaching. I really never opened the book. But just go to class and I really dont think u will have any problem with this class.
I wouldn't have done well in this class with another teacher! She makes everything very clear, and is very concerned that everyone understands! Take this class with her!!
Dr. Tice-Alicke is a wonderful professor who cares deeply about her students. She is so approachable - you can always feel comfortable stopping by her office. She is certainly one of the best professors here at OU.
Professor Tice-Alicke is great, she's real helpful if you ever need her and she's real clear about everything. Don't buy the book you never need it. Keep up with the homework though and do all the practice exams and you'll do fine.
She was very clear, the only thing is you need to attend class to do well on the tests. Very nice woman
Tice-Alicke is so great. Take your tier I math class with her, you'll be glad you did.
If you go to class everyday and take notes, you will have a good grade. she provides the formulas for the tests which is helpful. she is not 100% helpful when it comes to responding to e-mails and concerns.
LOVED this class. easy as long as you attend/take notes/do the homework. basic stuff here, kids. easily my favorite professor thus far.
She is very able to make the complicated formulas easy to understand, and is willing to help as much as possible. Her lectures are entertaining & engaging. Mini-projects (2 pts) are given weekly, and they are always either very easy or done in groups. Tests are a little challenging but not too bad. Don't buy the book, you won't need it.
The book is a waste of money. Pretty easy class. Professor is somewhat hard to contact outside of class.
Very nice professor. If you show up and take notes you will get a good grade. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK!! it is a big waste of money. I recomend her and this class for frshman teir 1 math.
i had tice-alicke spring quarter and she's definitely the most helpful professor i have had here yet. i'm horrible at math and had to take this but i didn't mind it at all the weekly homework assignments really help your grade if your not a great test taker
Excellent professor. She makes sure that the class knows the material prior to the test. If you aren't understanding something, just ask and she will help you. Getting office hour time can be hard because she does have a lot of students that are always trying to meet with her. Overall, EXCELLENT teacher.
Very Nice Teacher! Need to go to class to understand everything.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Tice-Alicke! She is the sweetest woman ever and does her best to help in anyway that she can. She really cares about her students and will go to great lengths to make sure you do well, not only in her class but in life/college in general. I have NEVER met a student who didn't like her. TAKE HER FOR WHATEVER YOU CAN!
Dr. Tice-Alicke is an amazing teacher. I recommend taking Psy 221 with her. She explains things in terms anyone can understand.
Tice-Alicke is an awesome teacher. I never thought I could do math, but I did well in her class because she knows what she is talking about and is clear in her lectures. Go to class if you want to do well (plus sometimes she gives extra credit just for showing up.) But DON'T BUY THE BOOK! She never uses it.
Dr. Tice-Alicke is a WONDERFUL teacher, I've recommended her to all my friends for Stats. She really cares about her students. No need to buy the book, but class attendance is mandatory for sure.
Great teacher, very nice, very clear in her lectures. Do NOT buy the book. Do the reviews online.
I had no interest in taking this class but had to for my major. Turns out, it's been the most interesting one with the best professor I've had in a very long time! Tice-Alicke has a real knack for teaching and is incredibly helpful. The tests aren't insanely easy but very manageable. There's only homework a few times a quarter. I recommend!
she is great, so helpful and nice. don't but the book its not needed but the tests are a bit difficult even with the help of the practice tests she posts. but if your looking for a nice, understanding helpful professor take stats with her!
Dr. Tice-Alicke is by far my favorite professor at OU. I was nervous about taking stats, but she teaches it so well. She is always ready to help and repeat things you may have missed while taking notes. She teaches with great clarity and makes understanding stats easy and enjoyable. We did not really use the book, but the homework packet is a must!
she is amazing and always willing to help but her tests are very conceptual and analytical. must go to class to understand
Amazing person and amazing teacher. People who are majoring in psych should really try to get an in with her because she is such a great resource for future references, etc. Definitely a teacher that explains stuff well and loves to teach.
Very good professor. She explained things well, gave study guides, and was very funny. Tests weren't too bad, just as long as you take notes, go to class, and study. We NEVER used the book!
She was OK. Finding out halfway through the quarter that the other stats classes were provided power points with notes was a little frustrating considering she gave nothing of the sort. How does that make for a standardized course? Didn't seem right...
Great teacher. Explains things so well. Class is manatory! Go to class and pay attention and youll get a good grade. Really nice person too.
Tice-Alicke is a very nice and helpful teacher. She'll walk you through problems you don't understand and explains the notes very well. She's always dressed to impress too!
This is a great entry-level statistics course. She makes the class enjoyable by "picking on" students for examples. Nothing mean, of course. She is interested in each student and provides great help. She is the friendliest professor I've seen. I highly recommend this easy class. Just take good notes. The book is not needed whatsoever.
Even though attendance isn?t mandatory, it is highly suggested. I had no idea how much fun STATS could be, she is so clear and able to break down equations so they make sense and relate topics learned in class to real life examples. She is an amazing teacher and would recommend everyone to take a class with her!!!
If you can, take this class! She makes STATS so entertaining, and makes it very interesting. Lectures are mandatory because her notes aren't available elsewhere, and she also has easy in-class projects. Studying is required, but the textbook is not needed. She loves to tell stories, and is the cutest little woman ever. Take this course!
If you love you GPA or don't want it to suffer, STAY AWAY! She grades the tests to hard, and all the extra credit and miniprojects will not even help. if you screw up early in the quarter or semester, plan on retaking the class with a different prof. and don't buy the book, you don't need it, you don't even use it.
Professor Tice-Alicke is one of my favorite professors. Her lectures are clear and to the point, and she rarely assigns homework. Study well for her tests since the class is only out of 300 points. The tests are very easy if you complete the practice problems that she puts on blackboard.
She was an excellent teacher, best one so far at OU. She explains very clearly and answers questions great! I highly suggest this teacher.
I've never been good at math, but she makes everything easy to understand and doesn't make you feel like an idiot if you ask a question. You do have to show up to class, but there's only a few homework assignments, and the practice problems she gives you are exactly what's on the test. I highly recommend her for psy120!
Susan was my favorite professor this quarter! First off, DO NOT buy the textbook. You'll never use it. But her exams are to the point and she gives you review problems online that mirror the exam you're about to take. She uses real life examples to teach her class. And she also has the most adorable outfits! Take her for sure.
She was absolutely my favorite teacher of fall quarter. She is very no nonsense, but sweet and helpful at the same time. Her examples were always personal, and therefore relatable. She always held my interest. She says you need the textbook, but it is completely unnecessary. Her notes are more than enough to help you to study for exams.
Great teacher, awesome attitude. Makes material easy to understand.
Teaches well and is extremely helpful. Seriously one of the sweetest human beings I've ever met. She was my LC leader as well and wrote me a fantastic letter of rec for a scholarship. She's always there when you need help and won't let you fall behind even if stats isn't your strong suit....Oh class isn't too bad either :)
She has been my favorite professor thus far. She is very sweet, but will not accept nonsense. There is no need for the book, her notes are more than enough. I found this class so easy because she made it very relatable. Awesome teacher!
Dr. Tice-Alicke is incredible. This is my second class with her and I plan to take her classes in the future. She's an amazing lady and I actually enjoyed going to class everyday. Her tests are no nonsense, straight to the point. If you go to class and listen to her, you'll get an A. But you'll also love her, cause she's a tremendous teacher.
Easy class if you go everyday but if you miss a single class you will be confused. Easy projects and tests if you study just a little. Don't buy the book it's not worth it at all.
I really loved this class, and she is an amazing and caring teacher. She really does make it easy to understand
Very sweet and cares for students. Has a lot of stories that go with her Stat lectures that keep them interesting. If youre awful at math she keeps it simple and can help with anything. Little textbook use, don't suggest spending your money on it. Her lectures cover most of the material.
Great teacher. Very easy to understand. Loved the class.
Excellent.
Great class. Wonderful woman. Very clear and concise. Cute outfits, very approachable, very helpful. Highly recommend.
If you want a good grade go to class and do the review packet. thats it. I am not a math person at all but she made stats so interesting and she was just so awesome at what she does. Best Prof at Ohio U.
Very poor communication. Did not have where students online could talk to one another. I feel if she is not going to respond promptly to emails we should have access to one another online. projects are graded out of 4 pts and there are 3 assignments almost per 4 pts. Not a fair grading system. Very disappointed. Steer clear if you work f-time
Very unfair grading system. If you work full time run just like the man above me says run. This woman
She is a nice lady that knows a lot about what she teaches. She isn't the most helpful, but the class isn't that hard. Easy A or B with little to no effort. Also, she's attractive.
Dr. Tice-Alicke was an amazing teacher. She was very clear and gave great examples in her lectures. Every class attended was interesting as she always had stories to go along with her lectures, making the material easier to understand. She is very approachable and willing to help. One of the best professors I've ever had, by far.
No surprises on the exams; everything she taught you in class appeared in the same exact form on exam day. Not a huge math fan, but she broke everything down well and made math easy to comprehend.
Love her and this class! Research is my area so I loved the content. Participate! Get to know her outside of class, it will benefit you. Work with people who are good public speakers on the last project. Go all out on the projects, it cant hurt you. Do not procrastinate, get it done early. Practice problems in the HW packet are extremely helpful!!!
She was very nice and was very interested in helping students out, as long as they paid attention and gave an effort in class. Class attendance isn't mandatory but if you aren't good at math Id suggest going every day.
Super easy class. Hardly any homework. Just go to class and you'll do well.
I've had Dr. Tice Alicke for 2 classes now & she is the best! She makes stats as easy as they can be & is very clear. I actually understand what I am doing because of her. Great professor & great person in general, too. If you get the chance, take one of her classes.
Dr. Tice-Alicke is the most caring and influential professor I have ever had. She is very clear in her lectures, and breaks everything down to make it as easy as possible. She is the nicest lady, and really cares about each individual student. I highly recommend taking this class, she rocks.
Take Dr. Tice-Alicke! She is awesome, one of the best professors at OU. So sweet and so good at what she does.
Best class I had all semester. Was super easy, and she was super clear.
Dr. Tice-Alicke is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She knows what she is talking about and will explain anything you need clarification on. The actual textbook isn't used, but there is a workbook that is basically required and you'll fail without. Highly recommend taking her class and would definitely take her again.
Dr. Tice-Alicke is honestly my favorite professor at OU. She's very helpful and if you just go to class, you will do fine. She gives hints about what will be on the exams. She's so sweet & she actually cares about each of her students. You can talk to her about anything and she's always willing to help. I literally love her. She dresses so cute too
Dr. Tice-Alicke is nice, and she really knows what she's talking about. This was a pretty simple class. The only issue was that she missed a lot of Friday classes, which meant that the TA, an Asian grad student, was left in charge. While the grad student was OK, she was very quiet & didn't have good English, making her hard to understand.
She is so wonderful. I haven't had a good math teacher in years, and I was really hesitant to take a math class in college, especially stats, which I almost failed in high school. She does everything on the board or on an overhead projector, and she makes sure to answer all questions very thoroughly. Do the practice problems, they help.
Tice-Alicke is super nice and friendly and is very straight forward with the material. She gives a lot of practice problems and always has a review day before the exams. I would definitely take this professor again.
She is seriously so sweet. She does her best to make the class as easy as possible and will always be willing to help. She gives mini projects throughout that are pretty much easy points, and holds review sessions before exams which is nice!
One of the best professors I've had at OU. She makes her lectures very clear and explains things well. If you don't understand something, she will try explaining it in other ways. She likes to interact with the class so it is more like a conversation and learns everyone's names too. Highly recommend taking stats with her! Buy the hwk packet!
I enjoyed Susan as a person but because I'm a journalism major and I'm awful at math, I struggled with this class. She is very upbeat and sweet but her lectures can get confusing. Also, there's only 4 exams that are worth 40 points and then 10 mini projects that are only worth 2 points. I would've probably have done better if there were more grades
She does teach in a timely manner, too harsh in grading.
Overall negative opinion on this professor, she spent an incredible amount of time teaching us about her personal life instead of statistics
lectures brought some critical thought, exams threw me off
Dr. Tice-Alicke actually made me love statistics. She explains everything extremely well. I took the class in 7 weeks over the summer and still managed to learn everything super well. I tutor statistics and the students that have trouble typically find my notes from her class extremely helpful. I highly recommend her!!
She makes statistics actually fun! Has an amazing attitude and actually cares about helping her students to understand
I think she pays to get negative reviews off this site. She is not understanding, my father fell ill with cancer while being in her class and did not take a UNIVERSITY excused note to make something up. Rude and unapproachable as well. Also a harsh grader and talks about her life too much.
She's such a sweet person and an amazing teacher! I took stats in high school and struggled, but she explains things so well, so I did great in the class! She does talk about her life, but I don't see why so many people think it's a negative.
One of the nicest profs I have ever had and this class was so easy. Very good intro level stats class.
She is an alright teacher but kind of rude when approached. Her class is difficult and it is not an easy A. Def have to work for it and go to class bc of random pop quizes
She was a really good professor! She kept the lectures interesting and I enjoyed the class overall. If you actually go to class you'll do fine on tests. Material is pretty easy to understand, the only time I'd do bad on a test was if I skipped some days that week. Lots of in-class mini-projects done in groups as well
Quizzes were a good learning experience: open book, not timed, but they only made up 20% of the total grade. Multiple esearch-based reports in APA format for an entire semester for every chapter far exceeded the work required in my 5-week core BSN classes. Spent more time fulfilling homework criteria than learning anything about psychology.
Listen. Susan Tice-Alicke is the warmest, most maternal prof I've ever had. She's charming and kind and you can tell she really cares about her students. Her stories are fun to listen to and a good break from the material. She WILL try to trick you, however, to see how well you're paying attention but she's so darn cute you can't be mad. A true gem
She really goes out of her way to make sure everyone understands a concept, she never fast forwards or skips steps and finds multiple ways to explain things. She talks about her personal life a lot but it doesn't take away from the class at all. Super caring and wants her students to do well. Can be a tough grader but encourages asking questions
I thought Dr. Tice-Alicke was a pretty good professor. It is important to show up to class or you will be lost and not know something that is on the test. Don't bother buying the book; I never even opened mine.
Great Teacher!
Very difficult class for someone who is not great with math. Dr. Tice-Alicke is so down-to-earth, but you really have to work your butt off in the class.
Super nice professor. She is funny and very caring. But!! Do not buy the textbook, I bought it just in case and I haven't opened it once. Also, attending the study sessions were pointless for me, did better when I didn't go.
I LOVE THIS WOMAN. the best professor i have ever had. she makes statistics fun and interesting and so easy to understand. she never moves on unless you fully understand. she cares about you personally and academically. not a lot of grades, 10 projects and 5 exams. you must go to class, all notes are done on the chalkboard, nothing electronic. xoxx
I loved her. I had to drop the class halfway through due to some personal stuff and she said I could start right back up and take it again. She tells great stories and makes class pretty enjoyable. Definitley not an easy class but she is helpful and the peer tutoring lab is really helpful as well.
Really good at teaching statistics. She is very good at answering the questions that you have. Don't buy the book.
Average professor at best. When she explains concepts she does not simplify them at all. She is very nice and willing to help, but when I would attend her office hours she made me more confused (same with the help sessions). My boyfriend helped me more than the professor and graduate TAs.
Lots of reading and papers, so a very time-consuming class. Make sure to read future assignments and plan ahead! Papers were very unique and different from anything else I'd ever done before; they really made you think outside the box. However, I got A's on all of them. The textbook was interesting.
Great professor!
Best professor Ive ever had; shes brilliant and she cares about her students passing.
I took her class during online school, so I'm sure I am not getting the best experience overall. she is one of the professors I have talked to the least, however, I am not struggling with her class and I am not great at math. there's a lot of assignments, but at this time I can't complain. she is very understandable! great class, buy the book.
Dr. Tice-Alicke is the most caring and warm professor I have encountered yet in my college career. I am not a math person but her excellent teaching and care for her students allowed me to get an A in her class even after going online halfway through the semester. She expects a lot from her students but she takes the time to get to know you.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Tice-Alicke. I've taken two courses with her now and will be taken a third next semester. The first one was in person, the second one was online, and the third will be hybrid, maybe (COVID-19). She is an amazing professor, extremely warm and intelligent. She is not a pushover at all but is very understandable. Work with her!
I have no words to describe how amazing Dr. Tice-Alicke is, she is truly phenomenal. Take her class if you're able to.
Dr. Tice-Alicke can make statistics make sense to anyone and everyone. Lectures were wonderful and she is an absolute sweetheart. If you need help, she is more than happy for you to reach out. Take her class, you won't regret it.
One of the best professors I've had so far at OU. Dr. Tice-Alicke is so nice and it's clear she wants her students to do the best they can. I am not a fan of statistics whatsoever, but she made it easy to understand and actually enjoyable. If you can take any of her classes, please do--you won't regret it!
Great professor. The class is heavy on research and paper writing. Always gives back feedback on why things were graded the way they are. Sometimes directions are confusing but she always responded to my emails within a day. Assignments make you apply what you learn from the chapter, not just regurgitate it. A lot of work but worth it.
The weekly assignments took me about 2 hours to complete and were due Mondays at 5 pm, which is extremely inconvenient due to me working full time on the weekends. To make it even worse, the assignments were only worth 4 points each. Id get 3.3 points out of 4 almost everyweek after spending 2 plus hours for an assignment that taught me nothing.
I recommend to everyone planning on taking her next semester to change their mind. She never responds to emails, only has old lecture videos posted, no feedback and relies on TA's to answer your questions. The material isn't what's hard it's how she's become a terrible teacher esp this year
She is laidback but also straightforward about what she expects each lesson. There isn't really a wow factor in her teaching skills though. In this course, all we did was read each week, do lesson assignments, and do chapter quizzes. As long as you read, things were fairly easy to finish. If all her courses are like this, I'd take her again.
Take this class w/ someone else or at a different university entirely. Very difficult if you don't have a grasp on the material- luckily I had a friend who was a great tutor. Doesn't seem to understand this is an online course: group project & set times/dates for exams. Had to ask off work. Don't bother buying the textbook.
If youre a psychology major, Dr. Tice-Alicke is the professor to have. Shes the head of the undergrad psych department and provides tons of insanely honest and down-to-earth advice. She also devotes entire class periods to asking each student about anything theyre struggling with and talking it through with them. Id recommend to everyone.
Dr. Tice-Alicke was alright. She gives large assignments each week, but the grading criteria is clear. There are 14 quizzes that she gives you until the end of the semester to do, but get them done early. I think if she'd given us a bit more interaction from her I'd have liked her more, but the class is basically self taught.
Whew- the assignments were VERY time consuming and only worth four points each. I recommend taking the quizzes early so you can focus on the weekly assignments. No midterm or final, but a group project. Grades fairly and communicates to the class well.
Though she is a nice woman, the online class is terrible. The notes and projects don't line up with the exam and the exam makes up almost your whole grade. If you have a question and send her a email, she won't answer it. The book doesn't help much. I just wouldn't take this class, at least online.
If you are looking to take an online math course, Susan Tice-Alicke's course is not the one to take. Each homework assignment is two points and there's only one given every 1-2 weeks. Test however are anywhere from 40-100 points. Her notes do not always match the test, and she is a smart ass when it comes to helping students.IGNORE THE OLD REVIEWS!
Dr. Tice was overall a good professor. The only issue I had were the 10 lessons. Each lesson consisted of several assignments and sometimes those assignments were time consuming. The concept of the class is easy to grasp and as long as you do the work, it's an easy A. Consists of 10 lessons, 15 chapter quizzes, & a group project as part of a lesson
Graded on 4 exams, 3 research reports, and one group project. The research reports are expected to be very lengthy and done in great detail yet not worth enough points for the amount of work expected to be put into them.
The grades for her course mainly come from exams. She doesn't upload exams to Blackboard until the day of; so I guess put them from the syllabus to your calendar. They will not show up in Blackboard as due LOL
Although this class was not challenging, I found the online tests to be very specific in what they required for answers. Professor Alicke is not good at responding to emails about concerns, and offers little extra credit. The weekly homework is only 2 points, and does nothing for your grade in comparison to the exams, which do not reflect the hw.
She's super caring and puts a lot of effort into her class. She has a huge heart and loves her students. But, her class is very hard. She goes at a fast speed and will se the same example over and over again. If you miss the class you will fall behind. Her projects are worth 2 points and her test are 50 so if you are not good at tests good luck.
If you have to take PSY 1110, I would 100% take it with Dr. Tice-Alicke. While attendance is not mandatory, I would make to sure to try and not miss class since she doesn't give out her notes and often gives out assignments that are not online and usually due the next class. Her lectures are great and you can tell she cares about her students.
Good professor. I prefer to have assignments to work on with math, but she doesn't give any besides 1-2 miniprojects at the end of a unit before an exam. Sometimes doesn't explain things great, but most of the time, shes alright. Good professor otherwise
Even though it's not attendance mandatory being in class most of the time is pretty necessary towards understanding. She's a super clear explainer and will repeat anything and will give help if needed. Grade is made up entirely from tests, however. There's homework, but they're all only worth two points.
Dr. Tice-Alicke has a clear love for teaching and her students. She is very open to answering any questions during the class period, but can be difficult to reach outside of this time. TAs host a review session before each exam. Attendance is not mandatory but is needed to succeed, as notes are not posted and paper assignments are semi-frequent.
My biggest complaint is that you're completely on your own; there are no recorded lectures or even slides going over the most important points in the chapters. There are lots of strange assignments and often the directions are unclear or confusing. No tests, only quizzes for each chapter but it doesn't even show you what answers you missed.
DO NOT TAKE ONLINE she has these horrible busy body work assignments due every week and then grades them BRUTALLY. The assignments are entirely vague and the TA grades like they are getting paid more the more point they take off.
Each weekly assignment took 6-10 hours a week. Prompts are incredibly vague and grades them SO HARD. It is hard to get a good grade on these assignments because points are taken off for everything. Can not answer questions over email and is not helpful. Also, online group projects with no direction. Would not recommend.
She doesn't respond to emails and often makes students feel stupid. This class is too hard to be a lower-level course. Her only grades are mini projects and exams, and the mini projects are only worth 2 points; they don't help your grade. She doesn't have any slides, so it's almost impossible to miss class. I have not enjoyed my time in this class.
This class was not bad, but also not the greatest. Sometimes her exams were different than what she lectured on. You have to be in class to receive a good grade because she has a very “old” teaching style where she writes notes only in class, nothing online. She is a really nice person and tries her best to make sure everyone understands.
All exams. Go to class because notes aren't posted online and they are good for studying for exams and mini projects.
While this course can be difficult at times, Dr. Tice-Alicke was great! Her lectures were good and all the concepts and assignments were discussed in great detail. She sets her students up for success and while the course is very test heavy, as long as you use the homework packet and attend class review days you will do just fine.
She made math fun and I do not like math.
I took lots of hard courses this year (chemistry and anatomy being some of them) and this class ended up being my lowest grade. This class isn't hard by any means, but if you neglect to study for it as much as your other classes it will creep up on you and end up being kind of challenging. Not a lot of points so study for exams like you mean it.
Takes a long time to respond to emails also is not clear about grading policies. Attempted to give me an F after not completing 2 lessons. One of which had been previosuly disclosed to her that was not able to submit and she just never responded. Now is accusing of using AI to justify giving a grade that did not reflect my true final score.
Going into this I knew this class was going to be difficult, and it was. It is a lot of studying. However, she broke it down each week, was great at responding to emails, helping and going over information and even set time before each exam to help you if you took the time. It is a lot of material but she is a very supportive professor.
I love her as a professor she is so kind and caring to her students. GO TO CLASS or you will do bad. This class really is not that hard just show up and learn.
Amazing professor, goes over information thoroughly and interacts with the classroom. Only a handful of small point assignments, so do good on tests!
She is an amazing professor! There is a lot of information given through lectures, so attendance is important but not mandatory. Tice-Alicke is a very funny and charismatic professor, truly caring about her students and telling us to reach out for help if needed. I would most definitely take her class again even though I am not good at math.
