fairly easy grader with good extra credit assignments

This Lady is sooo hot
This woman is insane. A radical neo-luddite that limits her students to readings of her choosing and punishes further research. Take her if you enjoy being brainwashed.
She was perhaps one of the craziest professors I ever had. She is a horrible person and thinks that the world revolves around her. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!
Please, listen to what I'm saying. Do not ever take one of this woman's classes. She is seriously crazy(psycho). Don't put yourself through it. You will remember me telling you this.
Bit of a tough grader and makes you write papers according to a ridiculous formula -- but if you question it she'll help and make sure it turns out OK. She definitely has some interesting and worthwhile things to say, and some good recommendations.

she is pretty crazy, she is not helpful either and she is NOT hot
Although incoherent at times, you do learn a lot in her class. Very helpful outside of class, and genuine care for her students. Moderately challenging work load.
She's a decent lecturer but kinda nuts. I learned a little bit but too hard of a grader. I guess you can take her if you are up for a challenge.

She LOVES history and cares about the students. She is very very helpful, all you have to do is ask. You learn so much in this class, the lectures are always interesting. She can be a little condescending at the beginning but the workload is light.
She's crazy and talks down to students, but knows a lot. If you're interested in the subject, she's good and accessible, but otherwise stay away unless you really, really have to take the class.
boring as hell, hard grader, do not take
you never have to go to class. her tests are probably the easiest you'll find for this course. its easy to do well. no homework really except for reading. a little nutty but very nice and understanding. if you ask for help she's really generous.
Realy hard grader on papers and tests...but doesn't care about attendance or give Homework...can be annoying if you are: late, sneeze, and don't eat before class. Why? i don't know.
Not only is she a hard grader, but she is also very condescending and rude to her students. Avoid her if you can.
SHE IS INSANE get out while you can...Horrible class, horrible teacher just plain HORRIBLE. She has no idea what she is talking about and is very random with her lectures.
Boring class and lectures very randomly. Is a very tough grader on tests an papers.
If you dont mind reading books and long chapters than take her but otherwise avoid her. She is extremely boring in class and she was not helpful during her office hours. Eventhough she does not give many written assignments just beware it can hurt you.

Insanely knowledgable in history, yet a bit crazy. Lectures are pretty boring but she doesn't take attendance. Somewhat condescending and quite a harsh grader.
Bizaar, a bit of a shrew but altogether a good teacher and a good woman. Kind of what you expect from a grad professor, lol.

DO NOR TAKE THIS CLASS< SHE IS THE WORST PERSON ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET>
Wabuda is awesome. She is crazy- not really that hard although a tough grader. With only two tests and essays, just study and write thoroughly and you will be fine. Participation is very important. She looks beyond history and sees potential in her students...something no other teachers have done.
She's really intelligent. Only 2 papers a midterm and a final. I didnt read the textbook once and i got a B on my midterm. She grades papers hard, but if you follow her model, you will be fine!
She is the best; makes her classes fun and interesting and makes herself available to students for help... awesome teacher who is really smart; plus her exams are easy and she gives a lot of help with the papers
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. SHE IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER. IT'S SO HARD TO FOLLOW HER IN CLASS AND HARD TO TAKE NOTES BECAUSE SHE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. SHE GRADES SOOO HARD ON THE PAPERS AND THE TESTS AND DOESN'T EVEN GIVE YOU FEEDBACK. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER
To pass this class all you have to do is be nice to her, do your 2 papers, and pay attention in class. You don't have to read the tkbk. You do need to study a bit for your 2 exams, but if you take good notes and study that, you'll do better than fine.
She's a little crazy but she's fun. Just take good notes and keep up with the current events. Just 2 papers, one midterm and a final. The people whining before me must be freshmen cause that's the best i've had so far at Fordham. She's the best!!! TAKE HER!!!! TAKE GOOD NOTES!!!!
Not an easy class to get an A in. Shes somewhat crazy, but she is amazing at history. She really loves the subject. Challenging class.
it sucks, she sucks don't take this course
she immediately looks down on her students and does not give credit to her student's ideas if they disagree with hers. She is intelligent but feels the need to mention it as much as she can (along with her book) her class has no structure and she mixes the history of all europe together
hahah this woman is CRAZY. Shes a hard grader... but she's fair. She likes to teach barefoot and is an "America" hater.... thats ok tho because she's amusing.
Worst prof at Fordham. Completely arbitrary grading and crazy, opinionated, condescending nut. I totally lost all interest in history as a result of this lady. I would rather take five extra, hard classes than take her again.
avoid her if possible but it's not the end of the world if you get stuck with her. two words--OFFICE HOURS: go as much as possible even if you have nothing to say. if you kiss her ass your grade will be boosted beyond belief. pretty hard grader but lets you do rewrites and offers helpful criticism.
I could listen to Wabuda talk all day. Very interesting woman with loads of knowledge. She takes a strong interest in her students and wants them to achieve their very best. She is a somewhat hard grader, however, she does it for the reason of wanting students to do top notch work. If you want a solid understanding of history, take her!
The way she grades doesn't really follow any kind of pattern whatsoever. She was also very condescending and liked to talk about herself and the fact that she could speak several languages (badly)and that she's published books on podiums. The only thing you can do is kiss her ass. Reading & office hours don't help, so don't waste your time
Great prof. She's a Democrat and you'll learn that quick--still fair though. Good person to talk to about ANYTHING. Personal problem, talk to her. She's always helpful. Her papers are clear cut, straight from the notes. No attendence policy. Midterm & final. Eat breakfast (oatmeal preffered, you'll understand why) and participate: she'll love you.
Kinda crazy, but EXTREMELY intelligent and accomplished. lestures, but only two papers midterm and final. take good notes. Participate and she will love you. SHE LOVES QUESTIONS, but if they are stupid or you are stupid she will let you know.
DO NOT TAKE. EVER. Psycho-Prof. Insane. Delusional. She wants YOU to provide HER answers, so she can continue a lecture, and she wants everything specifically worded-- in short, YOU NEED TO READ HER MIND. RUN AS FAR AND AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Doc Wabuda is great. Her classes are always about writing a good paper ; the reading seems to be incidental. Tests are standard:IDs and an essay. You gotta love her policy about not coming to class if you so much as sneeze...and don't forget to eat. "Do You know how hard it was to prepare food in pre-Industrial society?!!" Also what's up with her wanting "a cheerful font" and no staples on our papers? Kookie but Cool!
The rest of the reviews here are way off. Unfortunately, she teaches REQUIRED classes, so the brunt of the bad reviews here reflect those who are A)are not interested in the material, and B) expect to be pampered to while doing the minimal amount of work. She expects you to be engaged, and actually do the reading. Shocking, I know. She's fanastic.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. horrible grader, not helpful at all..most boring class I've vever taken at Fordham.
Very tough grader. Kooky, but nice and very intelligent. Loves questions and participation, which is sometimes difficult, because of the extent of her lecturing. I like her and would take her again if I got the chance. But I can see why people get frustrated with her tough grading and her general weirdness.
She's really funny and I know she must be brilliant, but she was so easily sidetracked, class rarely went anywhere! Don't expect any feedback on graded material. Just random purple circles and question marks. She'll getflustered if you try and make an appointment to see her, because apparently she's one of the busiest people in the world.
Dr. Wabuda is a very, very smart lady. However, she thinks her life is insanely busy, so much in fact, that she's too busy to grade fairly. Great lectures and fascinating, but she needs to grade more universally. For upper level history majors, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, No No No No No.
took her for early modern life seminar. she expected us to read hundreds of pages for each class... be prepared to either do them or prepare to **** like you did read them. 20 page paper instead of a final... hard grader but fair if you can actually write a decent paper
One of the most eccentric professors I have had. Class is very interesting; she has lots of different stories and is very vocal about her views on the world (Christian/liberal) Very hard grader, but she gives you every opportunity to get better. Only midterm/final for tests, so you really have to work on papers. Overall, very good.
she's so smart and interesting. her class pretty much runs on the classes questions which really keeps things entertaining. she may see a little harsh at first, but she's really a nice lady who really wants her students to realize what they're capable of achieving.
I couldn't stand Prof. Wabuda at first. I dreaded coming to class and have her drone on about how smart she was and about all the things we werent doing right and yell. But as class went on she grew on me. Classes are pretty much just her lecturing and little participation is necessary.. except have questions ready she LOVES questions...
She's weird. Brilliant at what she does, and never let us forget it. Bit rude at moments with her pointedness. Be prepared to ask questions- she lives off them! Feedback on paper is chicken scratch and she grades them very harshly. Couldn't get higher than C+ on them, though passed with a B.
smart lady, but thinks she better than history itself.. her papers are complicated and she tells you to use the book and then when she grades she tells you that the book is wrong... tough grader all around.. would not recommend to anyone
Your grade consists of two essays and the midterm and final...she doesn't take attendance so going to class is not mandatory, but she expects you to write your essays based on the lectures. Overall, not a good teacher, stay away if possible.
STAY AWAY! she only likes you if you partcipate but even then she still grades unfairly. very little homework expect for the 2 papers midterm and final. the midterm/final she tells you to memorize everything you have ever learned in the class and write that back down on the paper. i worked my ass off and still only got a B-
She's great - very knowledgable and funny! she is very into comments and questions and is very helpful when you go to see her. it's true - she's a hard grader and no one will get over an A- but it's worth it.
take her if u hate life. ur opinion wont change.
She really loves history and she's a generally nice professor. But she expects you to read a ton of stuff! Great if you're interested in history, but bad for the rest of us, especially since we don't go over most of it in class. If you get her, make sure you highlight EVERYTHING she writes on the board, 'cuz those terms ARE the midterm and final.
I'm gunna disagree with mostly everyone here. The key to her class is taking notes. The quizzes on Fridays come right out of your notes from the previous class. If you're a good note-taker, shouldn't be a problem. She is very knowledgeable, loves what she teaches, and made the material much more comprehensible. I would recommend her if you take not
She is by far one of the best professors at fordham. As long as you pay attention and participate in class (care about what she's teaching) then you'll walk out of the class with AT LEAST a B+. She's very helpful with regard to her office hours and works with her students to improve their papers. I walked out of the class with an A- & loved it.
One of the most brilliant professors at Fordham, she is very eccentric - but a really nice lady. I truly enjoyed her class (but maybe not my grade)
a good teacher in class, makes topic somewhat interesting, but an absolutely insane grader. i wouldn't take it unless you are already really good with history.
I have to admit, Wabuda is a bit of an eccentric, but if you look beyond that you can really learn a lot from her. Just show up to class and take good notes and you will be fine. And participate since it's 25% of your grade. She's really willing to help you out if you show her you care and are willing to put the effort in.
She's a really nice lady, and she enjoys what she is doing. You must take good notes! Her weekly quizzes, midterm&final are all from the notes! I got a B+ in the class and I never opened the textbook, just studied notes. But you need to memorize them.
amazing professor. she knows what she is talking about and is extremely insightful. a little eccentric, but it makes her class fun. everything comes from the notes- she dictates the notes and writes some things on the board. 3 readings required, but she explains them well enough to skip them. midterm/final are collection of essays. not too hard.
Overall, she is not bad. Like a few posts below me I received a B+ without ever opening the text, but I took notes that were almost verbatim from the lectures. I am not thrilled with my grade, but you reap what you sow. If you can take another professor, I recommend that. But if you have to take Wabuda, don't sweat.
Wabuda is the most amazing professor ever!! Her European Women class was very interesting and she always kept everyone's attention. She is the funniest and most eccentric professor at Fordham. Take her if you can! She is truly amazing!!
Dr Wabuda is awesome. My favorite teacher at fordham this far. She is crazy but in a good way. i got an A- and never even bought the book!
She is absolutely lovely. Her class is hard because she gives tests every week, and it's SO hard to pay attention but she is genuinely a loving person and loves the topic. She's also very understanding. The best thing you can do in her class is TAKE NOTES. AND GOOD ONES.
I thought her class was interesting. She gives quizzes once a week which are based off the lecture. You must be a good note taker and participate at least once a week. She teaches by reading from her notes and writing jey words on the board.
very strange teacher, but funny at times. she is extremely nit-picky and her teaching methods are weird. can be rude to her students, even blatantly mean. would not recommend this class.
Very odd teacher, but in a good way, typical of a historian. Yes sometimes she can seem rude, however its just due to the generation gap and a cultural gap (she considers herself British). Her papers are very easy, she gives you a packet that basically holds your hand through the paper. Her feedback is very helpful and constructive.
Worst. Teacher. At. Fordham. Unless you're a historical genius, please do yourself a favor and avoid this professor. I still have horrific flashbacks to this class.
DO NOT TAKE HER. don't do It. Rude to students. Unclear grader. If you sneeze in her class she flips out. Steer clear. Also if you take her don't buy the book.
This was legitimately the worst class I have ever taken. She tests on things barely spoken about in class and is a RIDICULOUS grader. Her class messed up my GPA.... over 75% of the class got a C or below on the midterm.
Susan is a TOUGH woman, but a great professor. She had no patience for people who weren't willing to put in the work but she made it worth your while if you showed effort. Textbook is not necessary because she tests you word for word from her notes and lectures.
So I have only been taking the core history class for a couple weeks now, but I just wanted to share an example of what her class has been like. The fourth class of the semester and she began class with, "Is everyone house-trained here?" and reminded everyone why potty training is taught. TBH I have never had a prof. that was so condescending.
If you're not a history major do not even bother taking this class, shes extremely specific if you do not take notes or write they way she wants she will fail you, very rude, shames students for asking questions she feels are unnecessary, extremely dramatic, kicks students out if they sneeze or cough once, never uses the textbook.
I did not have Wabuda for a class, but she is currently my history major advisor. She is rude, evasive, pompous, unresponsive, and incapable of performing her job as an advisor. I cannot even imagine how she is as a teacher, but I would recommend never taking a class with her. There are much more capable and considerate professors at Fordham.
as a freshman this class is a terrible projection of my next four years. she is impossible. for freshman student who need this credit, take any other available class. her expectations are absurd. makes degrading and rude comments to students.
Wabuda is a very particular professor but if you listen to her instructions and follow her exam guidelines very very closely, the class is an easy A. She is one of the best professors I have had at fordham! She is extremely tough but if you just listen to instructions the class is great! The textbook isn't needed, take great notes and talk in class
Dr. Wabuda is such a gem! She is so entertaining and she definitely cares about her students. Make sure you pay attention in class and take good notes because most of the information on the quizzes and tests comes directly from them. Also, if you ever have any questions for her, definitely ask because she is absolutely brilliant.
Wabuda can definitely be intimidating and somewhat condescending. Although she might seem scary, she really really wants her students to do well so ask questions. She is absolutely brilliant and an interesting person. On her tests write exactly what she says in class word for word and you will do fine. Class participation is key it saved my grade.
Literally the funniest, craziest professor I've had. Very little actual work and she is the most lenient grader possible. She is an actual character. Loves answering questions as condescending as possible. A broad knowledge of history. Ideal professor.
Prof. Wabuda makes her expectations for the semester very clear in her syllabus (in terms of your grade components). The entire class is based on lectures, which are all very interesting (coming from someone who doesnt like history). One thing is that there are weekly quizzes, but they arent too hard. Overall, loved this class and prof. Wabuda
Dr. Wabuda is the best history professor I've ever had. She is dedicated and brilliant when it comes to the material. She lectures every class and the weekly quizzes and midterm/final are directly from the lecture notes. Take good notes, participate often, and the class is an easy A.
Dr. Wabuda is the sweetest professor I have had so far. She is tough and quite sarcastic at times, but she is straight-forward and always willing to help. Some of my fellow students didn't like her, but I believe it's because they weren't willing to put in the effort, but if you are, you will fall into her good graces. Take her class!!!
I gave Wabuda the benefit of the doubt since this class was online but her lectures were just her begging students to ask questions. Only 4 graded items and gave minimal feedback and was not helpful in clarifying how to improve. Wants her notes word for word but sometimes those don't even cover everything. Very knowledgeable but not a good teacher.
If you value your GPA, I cannot stress enough about how this class will destroy your grade. Wabuda claims "grade is only a measure and nothing more." and will not hesitate to give out C's. She assigns work meant for grade-schoolers and grades them as if you're a graduate student. She is incredibly rude and completely nonflexible. Funny lady though.
Easily the most condescending and rude professor I have ever had. Will publicly embarrass you if you do not speak in a very specific way. Very old school and she will fail you with little to no explanation.
Dr. Wabudas British Isles class was probably one of my favorite classes this semester. She practically gave everyone an A for the two presentations we had which was nice. Shes REALLY big on participation so always ask one question per class and youll be fine. Also had a 10-15 page paper but she graded it pretty leniently. Very funny and nice!
If you have the option to take a different teacher, take it. If Wabuda doesn't like you, she will take it out on you grading your test. She looks for very specific things, if you don't provide them you don't get an A. Participate a lot, ask genuine questions. Her quizzes are impossible to get 10/10s on (irrelevan qs) and there's a quiz every week.
Interesting woman. Gets mad if you say the f-word (farmer duh). Extremely passive aggressive and judgmental. Thinks saying does anyone have questions is teaching. Can be an easy A if your essays are word for word what she says in her lectures. My advice: sit back and enjoy the show, there is truly no one like Susan Wabuda
Agree w/ the many others who say she's condescending + embarrass you in front of your peers just to elate her own sense of importance. In the midst of a presentation someone named an article, and she redirected the focus of the presentation to ask where it came from which lacked relevance entirely but again - to make her seem smarter than all.
