A hard class in general but she does a good job of teaching it. The homework assignments are optional but it is impossible to get a good grade without doing it. Seeing her outside of class is very important if there is even one thing you don't understand. Ask questions! Take good notes. Everything she says is important.

Absolutely an awful teacher! Hardly explains you the step to get there, but expects you to know how to solve it. If you don't understand something and try to ask her, she yells at you which makes you feel like a stupid idiot. I am a hardworking student and I love to learn, but I can't stand her. I learned more from YouTube than I am from her.

She does not use technology so grades are not online. Math problems are easy because she gives a lot of examples, but conceptual stuff she doesn't explain well. Her labs are graded extremely hard and if you dont do it her way its wrong. Her tests she gives a lot of partial credit. 3 tests 1 quiz 1 final and 10 labs.

Don't take this class unless you absolutely love chemistry and understand everything. Terrible intro course cuz she expects us to know everything and talks to us like we're on the same level as she is. Has really hard tests which comprise most of the grade percentage (doesn't count hw or attendance). expects us to memorize everything inc nomenclatu

This is the worst teacher I've ever had! Nothing is online, so you can't check your grades. Lectures are entirely verbal (no power points or visual aids of any kind). She doesn't even provide an email in her syllabus. She's unwilling to work with students who have accommodations. She publicly berates students in class and is an overall rude person.

Great teacher. I have a hard time understanding why so many people hate her. All her rules make sense: no phone use in class because you get distracted. She loves answering questions and is very patient, explains well, and her examples are harder than what she puts on the test. Only disadvantage is that she's not tech savy.

Her lectures weren't organized very well. She would talk about one topic and get distracted, then talk about the thing that distracted her instead of finishing the first topic. She's very vague and doesn't explain concepts very well. She acts like the students already have knowledge of the subject before lecturing about it. Not technology friendly.

If you learn well through lectures, then Weiner is a solid choice. She is very old school, in that she has no email or other online presence. She is a bit of a stickler for how you write up your labs, her expectations are clear. I loved her. However, if straight up lecturing isnt your thing, you might want to take someone else.

Great professor. Old school in the sense that her online presence is practically 0. She is clear on what her exams and quizzes will be on, and she warns you ahead of time. Got a B in both her Chem 02 and 1A class. Don't be using your phone in class and she won't get mad at you. Easy to get along with, fun, knows the material, enthusiastic.

The oldest faculty member by profession (and age) as she'll remind you, she reminds me of my grandmother if she was a chemistry genius. Class attendance is not recorded, but if you miss lecture, you will have a VERY hard time passing. Lab is mandatory. She can be abrasive socially, but her knowledge in invaluable. 3 tests, accumulative final.

She may be older but don't let that fool you, she's got the mind and personality of a young person. She is so passionate about chemistry and really prepares you for the classes you have to take in the future. She knows what she's talking about and knows exactly how to teach it. Miss a class and you miss a whole chapter of notes. Great teacher!

I loved this teacher so much, she is so adorable & really knows her chemistry. She can be stern at times, you should not take it personal. I enjoyed learning from her & I could see how much she loved teaching. Go to office hours, she will love your passion & it does make it easier to understand material. I wish she couldve finished the semester.
