You must be willing to put a loy of time and effort into the class if you want to do well. If math isn't your thing stay out. I got a C because I didn't give a flying $#%@. She is very nice though and will help you, you just have to ask. Be ready for HW.

Don't take her if you can't stay at the pace yourself. You MUST be motivated. She doesn't collect homework, but then who does it!!!! So take someone who will be consistent if you need to. A great and fun lady, but pay ATTENTION!!!!

I have failed this course three times..that is, until this semester with Mrs. Working. Math is no longer a jumble of numbers and letters that ultimately end up as x=something. Everything is clear and well taught, she loves teaching it and will do anything, ANYTHING, to get you to ace the class.

Wonderful teacher. She uses colored markers on all her examples to show when a step has changed and circles or undelines terms to highlight them. This makes it VERY easy to follow and take notes. She always goes over homework, but doesn't collect it.I had not taken a math class in 11 years, and believe me, you will learn it! Great class!

This woman is a Godsend to anyone who's as bad a math-dunce as I once was. I had to take Math 090 twice in order to achieve a grade higher than D+, but I chose to take her both times around because she is so helpful. I had a feeling she had a dislike for me, but that didn't stop her from answering all my math questions. I reccommend her for sure.

Susan is an excellent professor that loves the subject. This was the first semester HW was req but will save your grade if you complete it. Quizzes are take home. Exams reflect what was lectured. Susan is also very lively which makes her a MUST TAKE.

Working does a good job considering what she has to work with. Considering how over crowded the class is, I was surprised at how clearly she could teach. Susan Working is a very good Professor. She is meticulous with explaining concepts. It's a tough class, for me anyways. Keep up with the homework and you'll do fine. She doesn't grade homework so you'll have to have some self motivation.

She is a great professor who cares about her student succeeding. As long as you put in the effort (do homework on time, participate in class, come to class) you should be able to get A/B. Quizzes are take home, homework is due on day of Exams. She also sets aside days to review exams and gives out study guides with what will be on exam. Take her!

I am a math major and have had nothing short of amazing math professors so far, Working is definitely at the top of the list. Even with an accelerated summer course, packing 16 weeks of material into 6 weeks, Calc I was very well taught. I think she's a great teacher no matter your math skill. Wish she was teaching Calc II next semester.

TAKE HER!!! She is an awesome teacher. We had an individual in our class who had a hard time understanding the concepts and she would slow down and explain in different ways until he understood it. Extremely patient and flexible. Take home quizzes, allows you to work in groups and hands out practice exams to study with. Practically fail-proof.

I love her! I am currently taking her math 170. She is a well organized teacher, the most easy one. Take home quiz and some in class quiz which are about the formulas. Tests are easy if you follow all the instruction and do your homework. She is very helpful and kind. Easy A

Easy A! Gives homework, but you're not required to turn it in (Just the way I like it! Do it for your own good). However, you are expected to do and finish the lab work, which only takes about half an hour. So far, I could say she's about the best professor I have ever had. She is very understanding.

Most amazing professor at Grossmont College. I use to dread math but somehow Susan left me wanting to take more classes. Easy A. Go to class, do the optional homework, get an A on test/quizzes. She is humorous throughout lecture and makes it easy to come to class.

This was the very first Math class I had to take for my freshman year last Fall and I dreaded Math for the longest time BUT Mrs. Working helped me change perspective. Mrs. Working is a great math teacher. She helps lots when you ask her too and is really great at explaining. She drops your two lowest quiz grades. You have to work hard but if you ask her she does offer lots of help. Reccommend to any student debating wether or not to take her class.

Prof. Working operates at the apex of her profession. I seriously couldn't understand math for years before finding her class. She turned me from a D- student in to an A+ student. Her passion, drive, and work-ethic are infectious. I wish her the best and feel blessed to have had her as an instructor.

Her tests are very difficult, and you need to show up for lectures & lab because the book is terrible at explaining things. Final is hard but let's you do take home quizzes which are easy to score an A on. Tests are hard and worth 50% of your grade. Had a 69% in the class and wouldn't boost up my grade. great teacher though would recommend

Working is very laid back and class is fun, but she can sarcastic towards kids who tend to struggle and expects everyone to know everything. She gives you opportunities to raise your grade with take home quizzes, but her exams can be difficult compared to lectures and the homework.

Homework is all online and has unlimited attempts, so easy to complete. Quizzes are short and some are take home. 3 exams worth 15% each and a final worth 25%. Exams are hard, worth 70% of final grade, and not exactly like the study guide. I recommend using the math center and creating study groups to pass this class.

working was a good teacher. she keeps the class engaged by cracking jokes and does a great job teaching the lessons. the tests can be hard but she gives out a study guide before each test and goes over whatever you ask. she takes your final great and replaces your lowest test grade with it if it is not lower than any of your tests.

Took her class for calculus class in the summer and trig the semester right before. Struggled through both classes. Tests are nothing like the study guide. Had to go to the math study center every day after class and still barely got a B.

I'm taking Working for Math 180, that's how much I love her! Pay attention to her lectures and write down everything in order to do the homework! Don't skip class! She might give out a quiz that cannot be made up! Do all the homework, do well on the quizzes, and exams, and study for the final and you'll get an easy A! She's funny and sassy! Beware!

I got Bs on nearly all my tests, and the only one I flunked happened when I missed the review session for it, so I definitely dont reccommend ditching. Working is overall a good teacher. Her lectures are very easy to follow and she answers any question you have. However, on some days she is a bit moody which makes it more difficult because she is less likely to answer your question fully and just assumes you know everything. She also gave out study guides to every test and take home quizzes.

Took her in a big lecture class (140 students I think). Go listen to the lecture, take notes, do the lab, take the test. There isn't really hw. You don't need the book, it's in MyMathLab which is required. She has a packet of notes to follow on with her lecture available. She's clear, nice, not super approachable. But a good teacher.

Never took calc before - took her summer math 180 class as my first class at college. Amazing teacher - lectured so well i barely had to open the book, especially because homework wasnt for a grade. Made hilarious remarks during some of her lectures. 13 hours a week of class time went by like a breeze. Taking her MATH280 course this fall.

Susan is an amazing teacher. She teachers clearly and is easy to understand. The only problem I had was that your grade is based on tests and quizzes only, there's no curve, and there's no extra credit. You pretty much only have one shot to get a good grade. I took this in summer and I do not recommend the class for those who want to have a life.

Working is truly a gem among math profs. Calc 2 is a tough subject. She teaches it really well. You're not graded on homework so its up to you to do it. Advice: definitely do it. If you don't, your chance of passing is slim. Proper notation is important, especially on tests. SHOW UP TO CLASS. I'm very good at math and this class took some effort.

Susan Working is a great professor. She does as much as she can to make you understand. She doesn't ask for homework, but to get an A you need to practice a lot. If your class starts at around 9:30/10:30 ish, good luck at finding parking and getting to class on time to take a quiz. She doesn't accept late quizzes so if you're late/absent, you get a zero. AMAZING teacher, but it wasn't easy! Do the homework everyday or you will fall behind very quickly! ASK QUESTIONS and take advantage of her office hours. Ive taken her for both 176 & 180 because shes the best at explaining things. If you dont understand something shes good at breaking it down and making it as simple as possible. She has very little patience for people who dont do the homework or participate so dont expect her to be super helpful if youre not putting in the work.

Honestly, Susan was pretty chill. My biggest complaint is that she wouldn't move on unless someone answered every single question. When it comes to course material, it's digestible and she does such a good job explaining it. She encourages office hours and is always there to help answer your questions. I hate math but she made it fun for me.

Because of COVID, I had to take this class online and I was so anxious to see how well I was going to do this semester. Professor Workings was able to explain math so good that I passed. DON'T SKIP THE LECTURE VIDEOS. Even though they're only 5 points, they will kick you right in the ass if you don't do it. Overall, I highly recommend taking her!
