Dr. Zimny is awesome. She's passionate about a lot of things, she's very knowledgeable, and class is always fun with her.

The class was hard, but I learned so much from her. I am glad I had the chance to take one of her courses.

Great professor - so intelligent, knowledgeable, and helpful. And I would pay any day to hear her opinions, thoughts, and insights about material!!! As long as you are a hard working and dedicated student, you will enjoy the class and do well.

She's nice as a person. If you study for the tests you should do okay as well. My only complaint is (at least for my course) she followed the textbook 100%, which was absolutely boring.

Don't take as a night class cause she will hold you the entire time and its kinda boring. She is a nice lady but the class can be boring and the tests are hard making it hard to get a decent grade since there is very little other work.

The class itself is very hard and she seems hard at first, but she ends up being very understanding. She really wants people to appreciate learning. She is cool, but I don't think some people understand her.

Dr. Zimny's exams are very hard! Her classes can be boring. She tends to talk about herself quite a bit. Exam time is tough!!!!!! LOTS of info. on every exam.

Dr. Zimny appreciates hard work. You will get the grade you deserve. I found her hard at first, but once I got used to her and knew what she wanted, I loved the class!!

dr. zimny is fun ... a little eccentric ... but she knows what she's talking about. sometimes, however, the rest of us don't. she's way into politics so if you hate that then i advise not taking her, but if you then go for it!

Extremely intelligent woman who is very down to earth. It's true, she is not easy, but that is one of her best qualities. She demands that you work hard and she truly makes learning fun. Very rewarding experience - requires you to think. Shes awesome!

Hard but good to take if you really want to learn the material for grad school or something. Avoid her if you just want to get 291 over with. Can get very political, so conservatives be forewarned.

This woman really has my respect, yes she is NOT easy & she does have a reputation of being a hardass but she will truly do n e thing to help u if she sees ur making a genuine effort. I have learned so much from her, both academically and about myself

i tell ya what, i was failing the first 2/3 of the semester and somehow came out with a B. she's very tough on her students, but only cuz she knows you can do it. if you just pay attention and actually ask for help when you need it, you'll be just fine.

The only regret I have with her is that I am unable to take another class of hers. She is a fantastic professor. Yes, the class is hard but that is because of the subject matter. If you ask for help, she will be more than willing to help you. She is one of those profs that you remember. Very sweet, intelligent, etc. Thanks Dr Zimny!

I love her and I think her motherly nature helps her teach Psychology perfectly! I wish she was my professor for all courses!

at the bigining she seems hard, but later on it gets easier. Very conprehensive and if u beg her she sometimes changes test dates, skips a chapter or gives u more time to study for a test!

Dr.Z is cool as long as you're not an idiot. Very political, easily sidetracked. Her grading policy is pretty flexible-I had her for a 3 week course & she asked for a lot of student input. She'll always keep you the entire class time. Also, don't expect to be babied-she won't tell you every question that's going to be on the exam- that's YOUR job.

Well, this class is basically statistics all over again. She explains things like 10 times, but each time, it is a different explanation. We had 3 exams, not a lot of points so you HAVE to do well. She is willing to help, and encourages people to come to her office for extra help. Not a lot of quizzes or homework. Easily distracted, very political.

Summer class. 3 hours seem like a painful experience scheduling but she made it really nice. I mean I'm not a morning person but her class was interesting and fun and there was a lot of discussion. IT was awesome. FAIL PSYCH so I retake it with her. Got a 'B'. Her test are hard.

Tough grader, but I've learned so much in this class it's ridiculous. Should be at least a 300 level course, though.

Class was very boring. Tons of material. Was very helpful at times though.

She means well, but her class ends up being very political. Her tests are difficult and require complete understanding of ALL the material. She is a very strict grader but goes easier on you if you go to class, try, and make sure to read the book!

Dr. Zimny may be strict, but that is just because she wants you to do your best. If you don't go to class, and don't do your work, you're not going to do well in her class. She will tell you that to your face. I struggled with this class, but in the end I'm glad I chose to take her. Go to class, do the homework, and go to tutoring if need be.

Love, love, love her. She is passionate about everything and makes the class interesting. She can get off topic, but everything she says is funny and interesting. One of the best teachers I've had here and I'm a senior.

I love her enthusiasm and passion for everything. She is an incredibly intelligent professor who cares about her students. It?s always interesting to listen to her speak even if it's not quite related to the class :)

I had Dr.Zimny for two classes, PSYC 290 and PSYC 331. In both classes she was passionate and always showed an interest in the students. She is a great professor.

I had her for both PSYC 290 and PSYC 291. She is an awesome teacher because she is passionate about her students. She is however very unorganized. She wants all her students to do well and she always mean well. She is like a motherly figure to her students. Go to class, read, and enjoy! RECOMMENDED!!! She changed my view on Psych in good way!!!

Although she is very rigid (and persistent) in her views and thinks that all students should adopt them, she is over all a very intelligent & thorough professor. She takes interest in her students, especially if you are doing well and is willing to help. The class isn't too difficult until the big paper, & reading the book and attendence def. help.

Although I'm a psych major, I had no interest in research until taking this class from her. She called me out on my BS and poor attitude and completely kicked my butt into shape. I wish I had her every semester to keep myself on track. If you need a rude awakening, I highly recommend her.

Dr. Zimny isn't an easy professor, but she is an awesome teacher. She is willing to help anyone, but they have to pay attention. She is not shy and will call individuals out for not paying attention and then doing poorly. She goes over information more than once, especially if people don't understand. She truly wants to help her students.

Dr. Zimny is a great professor and makes subjects which could be boring interesting. The one caveat is her tests can be very difficult, especially for psych 290. In her research class you must know your stuff if you want to get a good grade. All in all though, excellent teacher.

Zimny is a VERY knowledgeable professor. She'll call you out for not paying attention, attendance, etc., but only bc she wants you to succeed. READ THE BOOK, her exams (essay format) follow it closely. She is tough but helpful & takes an interest in her students. I can honestly say she is one of my favorite professors at IUP. Take her if you can.

If you are seriously into research/environmental issues/attend class and contribute during discussions, you will not have a problem in Zimny's class. Even though her exams are tough, she's more than happy to go over stuff with you during office hours. She loves to help students and I am now working with her in a research practicum.

She doesn't take crap from anyone and as long as you are open-minded, you will learn a lot from her. If you can't handle being wrong, she is not the professor to take.

Dr. Zimny is the most intelligent & hilarious professor I have ever taken. The only problems I had with the class were the rude, whiny students with whom I took it. She taught everybody who came with a desire to learn, and she did so with passion. I have an immeasurable amount of respect for her. If you like to learn and like a challenge, take her.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! We learned so much about environmental issues and when new info was discovered, she was willing to add it to what we were learning in class. Her tests are hard, but she rewards those that attend regularly. She is a fair professor and I loved her comments everyday in class. She has had a wonderful life and is very well-rounded.

I loved having Dr. Zimny as my professor. She was an awesome professor and was very interested in course topics. Her class can be challenging but if you work hard you will do fine! If I could take Dr. Zimny for another course I would!!!

Great teacher. She is one of the most intelligent professors i have ever had. As long as you go to class and at least skim the book, you should be fine.

Zimny was the first Research Psychology professor that I actually understood. Don't get me wrong, she's a tough teacher, but she also pushes you to do your very best, because she knows you ARE smart enough to be in those seats. And she's chalk-full of knowledge. I'm taking her again next semester! :)

Dr. Zimny is hands down my favorite professor. She if full of knowledge. She will go over material until the class understands. If you ask for help, you will get it. It is not an easy A class, but the work you put in will be worth it. You will leave that class having learned something. She has passion for what she does and it shows in her teaching.

A very interesting experience. I absolutely loved her, but don't take if you don't want to work hard or you can't handle "tough love". She's super knowledgable in the field and brings her passion to class. I've learned a lot from her.

Best professor I've had at IUP so far. I've learned a lot from her both related to the course and outside of the course. The material she teaches is very hard, but she's more than willing to clarify if needed. You have to work hard in this class, but it's worth it! I suggest taking Dr. Zimny if you have the chance!

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Zimny quite well and she is an amazing individual. She is brilliant beyond belief and one of the most caring people I have ever met. Unfortunately, she is retiring after this year so there is no chance anyone will be able to take her again. I just wanted to rate her incase she sees this. You're the best!
