Easy A class, exams are strange from her lecture notes in class, and her review sheets for the exams are exactly like the exams. Don't even need to buy the book for her class. She's a cool teacher to have.

I think Professor Hall is one of the best professors I have ever taken. Her lectures are clear and straight to the point. The tests are very easy and it's all based on the notes you take in class from her lectures. She is very funny and extremely nice. I would recommend this professor to anyone!

Funny & interesting lecture. Really gets you to understand the material. Take notes on everything in class & you never have to read the book, I wouldnt even bother buying it. Paper is easy & really interesting. No homework. Class is usually pretty short. I am taking her next semester!

teacher takes roll in the beginning of class. homework is collected the next day. it takes just 5-10 min to finish it. notes need to be taken. group project worth a lot assigned which takes a lot of time to do. tests were hard for me. i earned a C.

I took Hall for World Religion Class, she has to be one of the most down to earth teachers I have ever seen. Her head is clear, very easy going person. Her tests are not hard, cares a lot more of whether you learned something or not, than a grade. Very fun and cool teacher. Highly Recommend.

EZ A..AHAH! I didn't even read the book for the class..Just mainly take good notes, and study those for the test..then u'll get a good grade (= She goes over whats going to be on the test so pretty much u don't have to study stuff thats not going to be on the test.. Overall its a EZ class no effort

take her major world religion. don't buy the book. just go to class every session and take notes. study the notes, then you'll get all A's. really easy teacher.

I loved this class. i would definitely recommend her. i learned a lot. she's knowledgable and down to earth. you need to study for the tests though! i agree dont buy the book i dont think i used mine but take notes!!

Sushma is a deep, intelligent, confident, funny, and an overall great professor. Don't buy the book. 1 test, 1 term paper, 1 research paper, 5 journal entries, and 1 opportunity for Extra Credit...Everyone in the class got an A or a B. Interesting subject. Highly recommended- attendance is not mandatory unti the end.

Her class ROCKS! She is really organized, very clear on the subject, a very intelligent professor in the field she teaches. This is not an easy class just because it covers so much materials, but she made it much more easy to handle with her clear lectures, notes, and handouts. DONT need to buy books, just go to class will be enough.

i loved her. she made this the most interesting class i've ever taken at mt.sac. we never used the book, but don't miss a day of class because her notes are extensive but still very clear, and the day before a test she tells you EXACTLY whats on the test. theres no way to fail. i love her and i'm planning on taking her again

Wonderful teacher. By far my favorite teacher I had at Mt. Sac and possibly ever. She is well spoken and interesting to listen too. She was an incredibly fair teacher, open minded and encouraged discussion. I love her class I wish I were still at Mt. Sac so I could take her again! Take her class!!!

Fantastic teacher, however expects a lot. Expect to live up to college level writing and study expectations in her class.

Informative lectures, I didn't purchase the textbook and got an A. Just take good notes, and study from them. She's entertainingly funny, so sitting through the lectures was easy.

the session before the test, she goes over exactly whats on the test! she isn't interested in dates, just the main idea from a specific period. comparative religions has never been this fun.

BEST PROF AT MT SAC!!! take her if you need any phil classes, you will learn a lot and she makes it fun. make sure to attend class the time before her test-she tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. she knows her stuff, and without a doubt you will want to take more phil classes with her!

Mrs. Hall is pretty much to the point. She will tell you her expectations and as long you meet them you should get a passing grade in the class. I didnt really read the book for this class and i wouldnt say its necessary even if she says so. I just finished with Mrs. Hall for ethics. It was the winter quarter so it was a little pushed together for this type of class. She is really straight forward and as long as you do the reading and study for her tests, you will do good. She is a really good ethics teacher and is pretty cool. The only downside is she is a hard grader

Easiest class ever. Great teacher. YOU DO NOT NEED THE TEXTBOOK NO MATTER WHAT SHE SAYS. Easy A. She basically gives you the answers to the test on the review day. Attendance at review days and test days would be advised.

very easy class. you do not need the textbook. one exam, one paper, and final (45 min-1 hr group presentation), all worth 30% each, plus journals are an easy 10%. 20 points extra credit. don't be afraid, easy A. BOOK NOT NEEDED.

Class consists of just 4 tests, and E.C.(self-served)! She is really insightful and attacks the issues that many people are ignorant and blind of. If you are religious, then you might be offended; this class is for logical thinkers; although, the 'liberal' religious people will enjoy it. Very abstract stuff and the lectures linger on. Intro class. I love this woman! She is amazing! She is funny, charming, full of enthusiasm and wisdom, and objective! She makes sure ALL sides of the argument are given attention to. That being said, class is somewhat difficult considering the subject matter. Take her, if you like abstract thinking. If you like black and white answers, then don't.

I took Sushma 10 yrs ago and she still stands out as my favorite professor ever!! I took her for 3 phil classes and absolutely love her! She changed my outlook on everything and I wish I could take another class with her. You will not regret taking any of her classes!!

im taking her for winter session, she is very nice and easy professor. She doesn't follow the book so you gotta take note in class but her tests are super easy. She gives you what you need to ace the test. I recommend this professor and i would love to take her again

Don't buy the book! Hall goes over all you need to know before the test, plus her lectures are far more interesting, so you should attend; even better if participation. Extra Credit is given by yourself! She's very accessible and encourages questions in her off hours. I highly recommend her for such a heavy subject. 4 tests & a paper - I got an A;)

Easy class. Go to class and take notes...especially on review days. No HW ...only 4 tests and a super easy religious event paper (3 pages).

She's nice and interesting and the subject is fun and whatnot, but really, this class is all about sticking to the script. She doesn't leave a lot of room for creativity. If you're a Philosophy major, I'd suggest taking Lloyd if he's available.

Took it during Winter. 3 exams 2 of which are 10 definitions and multiple choice, last one 10 matching defs. and multiple choice. Very easy exams. She tells you exactly whats going to be on exam. Gives study guide for last exam. One easy 3 pg paper. Overall fun and easy class. Gives study guide for final. Offers EASY xtra credit.

I really liked her class. It was very interesting. Her lectures make you see things in different perspectives and makes you think a lot. Attendance is mandatory. She has pop quizzes every other week at the beginning of class. We used the textbook a lot. annnnd you have to really understand the material to pass her tests.

Professor Hall is straightforward and she is willing to help those who ask. Study for her exams and ask her for help on papers and you should get an A.

Easy B... but impossible A. Good teacher but very close-minded. She'll laugh at your thoughts or opinions and gets easily frustrated when you ask questions. Interesting class, no homework, and the test aren't too bad either. She's good but far from great.

i took Sushma for the philosophy og ethics and the philosophy of major religions. both classes were very interesting. she's a very open minded and you can definitely tell that she's absored a lot different cultures after living all over the world. she also has a great sense of humor and is very smart and thoughtful.

Sushma was extremely straight-forward and always gave very clear directions for our class assignments. The reading was tough, but it was the only real 'homework' assigned. She urged students to examine their beliefs/ morals- and some may have been offended- but I learned a lot from her. Great prof and pretty easy A.

I really suggest you take ethics and world religion with professor. She explains everything so good. Take good notes. And before the test she gives you a study guide so detailed and goes over the answers with you during the explanation. Really Fun take her for both 15 and 12 she will make philosophy fun and might change your major to it.

Absolutely great teacher. I took Philosophy on a whim and now I love it, and am planning on taking her World Religion class. She will challenge your views, but she is always willing to go the extra mile for her students. Only h/w is reading, so do it. Join the class discussions.

Great professor. Very clear in requirements and breaks class up into 1/3's. First 1/3 is textbook work w/written exam. Second 1/3 is focused on specific philosophers and a term paper. Last 1/3 is all on presentations. Great class! It really did open my eyes to some things and she loves it when the class interacts in the discussions.

She is an amazing professor. I had her for world religions. She's really awesome and she's very open minded so she doesn't ever push one specific religion while teaching. Her class is entertaining and we do a lot of group discussions with the people around you and that was always fun and interesting. I'd definitely recommend.

By far one of the easiest teachers here at MtSac. All you have to do is show up for the lecture and take good notes.

Your grade consists of 3 tests, 1 paper, and the final, each worth 20%. In theory, you should read the text to supplement what is a very fast-paced and information-heavy course. Professor Hall's lectures are interesting, as she is very learned about the subject. Class is more dynamic when students participate, otherwise very lecture heavy.

Coming back from retirement just this past spring, Sushma Hall is back in the teaching business. Hall is extremely knowledgeable in her subjects and you will learn lots from her classes. Her grading criteria is very clear, no homework (she says just study the lecture notes and read the book, but I hardly ever picked it up) Lectures are interesting.
